Oh and I was also talking to my other sister this morning and looks like Mel is bending the truth a bit.
She told Nik that she said I could have till January. She only told me December and I was asking for February.
Mel also neglected to tell Nik that the Bridesmaids are all staying together the night before and it is going to cost $600 a room.
Appears like it is nothing but the best for my sister. This is normally the sister I get along with really well, but I think since Nik and I have had kids we are more on the same level. Mel just has no idea really.....
And I think this is all driven by mel's fiancee too. He is lovely but again they both have a reality check coming when they have kids. See his brothers and sisters don't have kids, so it just looks like we are causing the drama.
I don't want to leave my kids with anyone. She even told Nik, that "why can't wade's parents come down to brissy and look after Sheree's kids. What tha.... God she expects alot.
Ohhh there is more, but my mind is frazzeled (there is something else she said to Nik this morning, just can't think, will post when I remember - but it was 2 different stories - appears to be telling porky pies for the sake of getting the other sister on side). I just really think that if my friend said to me no kids at her wedding that is cool, but I really think us travelling so far to her wedding and the simple fact they are close family (ie: nephews) then surely that is ok.
Not much time to reply Sheree but just wantd to say that its perfectly reasonable for you to expect her to have her own nephews there, you are travelling a long way and Riley may still be BF then too. I think she is being very unreasonable.
No way Sheree, she is being ridiculous.
However (not defending her I swaer) I have been there and wanted to be the perfect bride on my perfect wedding day. No matter how level headed you are a wedding is a stress. It feels like no-one wants to co-operate.
$600 is also ridiculous. Has she stopped to think for a minute that you may not be able to afford that? Is she offering to pay for it?
Geepers 4 months is heaps of time to have a dress adjusted and any good dressmaker can refit ANYTHING.
Does Wade really want to go?
Thanks girls, and Kim yes I hear you and I understand that she wants it to be just perfect and have the best of everything, I too have been there, having been married before, which probably makes me so relaxed about the whole wedding ordeal these days. Not fair I know, and I also know that it is does appear like no-one wants to co-operate on these occassions, but like I said to my sister Nik this morning, I seriously am not a trouble maker and I am 100% sure nothing else will upset me ie: dresses/shoes/makeup hair (I really don't mind what I wear at all), but she has really rippened me 8mths early with these stoopid requests. Now it looks like I am the trouble maker!
Wade said to me, it is her wedding, but he also said that he would tell me to pull my head in if I was being unreasonable and I am not! He rarely defends me hehe. Anyway he said it is her wedding but like hell we are giving our children to a babysitter we hardly know! So how she is getting around this one is anyone's guess.
Yeah no, ur right Kim, I didn't take it the wrong way. I agree with you too! I am trying to be rational and see her side of it too, but geez I just can't budge on this situation though, no matter how hard I try. I am sure this is influenced alot by her fiancee, seeing as his siblings do not have kids. Mel has been brought up so differently. Family was always a number 1 priority.
It is funny this is coming from my sister who (don't think I told you all this), gave me a hard time for not announcing officially that we were engaged to the family, quoting that "it didn't appear I thought family was important enuf to involve in such an important event in our lives". The thing is, is just slipped my mind, they all knew we bought the ring, it was just a matter of wade asking me, and we had had a pretty rough couple of weeks with Riley and by nightfall I was exhausted and fell into bed. Also I have been married before and it just didn't feel that big a deal for us. I mean if my brain had been in the right gear I would have def told our family, it just really slipped my mind. And it wasn't as if I told anyone either, Wade's mum even asked me if I had any news yet and to that answer was "oh bugger, sorry YES YES YES" ooops.....
As for my parents well they didn't know and only told mum tonight. Didn't want to appear like the dobber hehe. But thought that they should know, but asked them not to say anything, we have to sort it out ourselves. I am not sure if my mum will tell dad, cause he would go rank!!! Mum however was just confused at what the hell are we suppose to do! My dad would not be happy, I know that....
Guess we will just see what happens now. Leave it with the lap of the gods (so to speak)
i've already fallen asleep once sitting up i'm so tired it is not even remotely funny though i am baby sitting my niece and nephew today so probably not a good thing to do
