Hello ladies,

Please excuse the long post. I’ve been writing it over a few days when I have a chance to check the forum for 5 minutes, so it goes back a fair way! I hope I have replied to everyone – I’m sorry if I haven’t.

Mummy – what a shame that there weren’t accessible facilities for bf. I really think that society has to get with the times – you’re right about feeding in the toilet. I have given up on assuming that there are ever any facilities anywhere so consequently I have learned to ignore the stares from people young and old while I just flop it all out there, so to speak. Hope you’re all recovered now – you must have been stuffed!

Sara – hope you had a lovely time away. It’s nice to have impromptu outings like that every now and then. That’s great about the playmat – so cheap! Re: Toby – yeah, I had to be induced 10 days late. Little bugger didn’t receive his eviction notice, it seems. I know what you mean about the weight. I do need to do some resistance training to tone but after I do the cardio I just don’t have time with the two kids. Although I had lost another kg when I weighed myself today, so only five kg to go until I get back to my WW goal weight. Hooray! Wow, an emu. How odd! And that’s sad about the house and the previous owner. It’s so impressive that you’re so young and everything is falling into place for you. Good on you! I hope we can afford to buy a house one day too.

Shazz – how is Nick going? Hope he’s feeling better, poor thing.

Tania – wow, feeding 8 times a day! Your poor bb’s! I hope that it does the trick. That pink shirt must be so cute! I have been looking for some in Charlie’s size for ages, but I don’t think it would suit Toby. He’s such a blue boy. It’s nice that your DP will wear pink – mine wouldn’t in a pink fit, so to speak!

Kim – thanks for the well wishes re: Toby’s jabs. I ended up having to reschedule the appt because Charlie wasn’t well and I didn’t like the idea of what could happen if Toby got sick just before his needles. We actually know of two kids who had reactions to their needles because they were sick at the time (unbeknownst to their parents). One died (at 10 weeks old) and one is severely brain damaged so I’m really nervous about it. I will have to bite the bullet and do it next week though. LOL at the wine. I’m not one to talk – we just joined a wine club and got our first order the other day. Our gift for joining is a 1.5L magnum of Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon , so I’ll probably be feeling just as sore as you did! Bugger AF too. I wish we could wave a magic wand and not have her appear until you want to ttc again. Fun being a chick, isn’t it?

Baby Crazy – hey there! Sorry that you’re having problems with the girl at work. That sucks. How is Scott going being a SAHD? I hope that Jovi’s hips aren’t causing her too much trouble – is she is pain with it at all?

Vic – bloody hell, you guys need to be put in a bubble so that sickness doesn’t enter your house! Goodness me. You poor thing. I really hope you’re all feeling better soon.

Leanne – PLEASE don’t feel embarrassed about the PND. There are a few of us around that have had problems with that. I’m really proud of you that you were able to admit that you needed help and tell the dr about it. I certainly think you should tell people that you’re close to about it because then they can support you and give you practical help when you need it. Don’t ever feel like you have to go through it alone. I had it for 6 months after Charlie was born and I never got help, so consequently that period of my life seems ‘black’, IYKWIM and I’m kicking myself for not getting help because it really marred my experience with Charlie. I really hope that the meds help, but have you thought about counselling too?

Jodie – good idea about the tips too. It might sound a bit yucky, but I actually bite Toby’s nails off while I’m feeding him. It’s the only time I can get him to stay still!

Sheree – Your poor bb’s! That sounds so painful. Bugger the poos! It will get even worse when he starts on solids. Glad to hear that he’s putting on some weight too. And yay for the sleep! It gives you hope for the future, doesn’t it?!

Felt very proud of myself the other day. I managed to tidy up the house, get the kids ready, go for a big walk, get the shopping for the day, take Charlie to the library, walk home, bake a cake and make a quiche in time for my lunch guest to arrive at 1! Yes, be impressed, but not too impressed – was a bit of a fluke and it doesn’t usually happen, don’t worry! AND, the other night Toby slept for 7 hours and then 5 hours! He had a bit of a shocker last night with wind, but the fact that he slept like that made me remember that this sleepless phase doesn’t last forever. He’s been feeding a bit erratically for the last day or two – going a long time without one and then not having much, but I’m sure he’d let me know if he wanted more! He’s just such an excellent kid, personality wise. He laughs at me all the time, and this afternoon he was happy to have me lie on our bed with him and sing him songs from ‘The Sound Of Music’ and ‘Mary Poppins’. It was so nice.

Woah, that was a big post! I really hope I haven’t missed anyone, but that was tricky! Seems like Alison has been missing for a while – has anyone heard from her?

We’ve got a big weekend planned this weekend. Tomorrow is almost SIL’s kitchen tea, and I’m the one who is organising it, and then Sunday we’re having the outlaws come over to help out DH with a working bee so I’ll make them lunch for Father’s Day, and then my family is coming over for dinner on Sunday night! Crazy! Should be fun though – I love cooking.

Right, going to go and play with the big boy who has woken up now. I hope you’re all really well.
