Sorry for the quick one gorgeous ladies but I just wanted to check in and see how Lulu got on with El taking a bottle for her??
Gotta get ready for work and feed this gorgeous little lady of ours.
Chat soon everyone. Hope all our toddlers are behaving themselves and being nice to their mummy.
-
hi everyone. At midnight last night we syringed 120mls into her. She was so exhausted from lack of food and hadn't had a wet nappy in hours so we were getting worried. Then when she woke at 3.30am DH offered her a bottle again and she took it straight away - 140mls! He's just tried again now and the little minx is obviously feeling a lot stronger because she won't have it at all. Don't feel that we're quite back to square one and are feeling hopeful now that she's had one. Mum will be back today to help again so hopefully by the end of today we'll be on track.
To top off the fun and games, DH had a friend arrive from the UK last night who is staying with us for 4 days. Its been arranged for months so there was nothing I could do about it. The lazy b*tch knew what was going on and sat around doing nothing while I cooked her dinner with Izzy on my hip. Then she sat around while I took 2 hours to get Iz to sleep (poor little thing had a bad day too with her little sister so upset). Got downstairs and dinner dishes still there etc. We have a dishwasher FFS - not exactly a big effort to clean up. Then, the best bit, was when I was filling the sink to wash all the bottles we used yesterday she walked into the kitchen, gave DH her glass and asked for some water!!!! I could barely speak to her when she went off to bed and not feeling much happier about her now so it could be an interesting few days.
I can't tell you all how much I appreciate your support and advice. It is very, very sad to say but you are all so much more supportive and understanding than some of my "real" friends. I wish we all lived closer because I think you ladies would be fabulous to have around me and my girls.
Will BBL with an update.
ETA: Oooooooooooh. Have to tell you. The only good think about the nasty woman staying with us is she brought with her little soft toys that are Iggle Piggle, Upsy Daisy and Makka Pakka. Can't tell you how thrilled my gorgeous girl is with them.
-
Lulu - baby steps hun and see she will take it if she has to! Cheeky monkey, you will get there hun, just be persistent as I am sure you will be. I can't believe your UK guest! Far out - how rude to just sit there and expect to be waited on hand and foot, I honestly don't know where some people get off! Yay for the In the Night Garden toys! My Izzy would be beside herself too - what is it with those little freaks that kids love!??? Hope you have a good day lovely. xox
-
Lulu that is great that El took a bottle, she can do it! I am sitting here like a proud mumma ha ha! I hope that today goes well and I'm glad that your parents are helping you out. Ellie will get the hang of it soon I'm sure, just going to take a bit of time. OMG at that UK guest - sounds like she needs a good kick up the butt. My Elena walks round the house saying 'Upsy Daisy, Upsy Daisy'. Drives me mental!!!!!!!!! I think I will have to get her some Night Garden things too, she will love it.
-
 GO ELENA!!
What a cheeky little munchkin you have there Lulu. Got everything crossed that you are all on the right track by the end of the day. You must be relieved that she can take a bottle. Aren't they cheeky.
Livvy is also a huge fan of Nightime in the garden. There really must be something about it that we just don't get.
-
:dance::dance::dance: Lulu! Im so happy for you! Now you know that its just Elena being cheeky, knowing she will get mummy if she makes a fuss. She hang in there hun you are much stronger then me, I would give in much to easy!
The UK guest.......If she keeps going I would just drop a comment, not rude just to get your point accross. I understand she's only there for a few days but you have been going through alot and dont need an extra stress. You can be polite but stern ;)
Yay for the toys!!!! Annabelle would like them but she's more of a wiggles girl
very happy for you and your family sticking together and getting through this, you'll be stronger and better off because of it.
I also wish we all lived closer!
-
Another bottle down, another 120mls. Yayyyyyyy
Its the Nuk bottle that seems to be doing the trick at the moment. Can't remember who asked, but we've tried Avent, Tommee Tippee Closer to Nature (what worked with Izzy), Pur, Pidgeon, Mam, Nuk, some cheap thing from Kmart and a bottle that I got from the maternity hospital in Perth that is designed for babies with things like cleft palates with real feeding problems ($30 for a single bottle!!). Thank God its the Nuk bottle that's working and not the "special" bottle ;-)
-
Woo hoo Lulu, that's great! Elena's on a roll. Give her (and yourself) and very big squishy hug from me!
-
Great news Lulu!! My Goodness, she sounds like the house guest from hell!! At least she came bearing gifts. Julian loves that show too and says 'Upsy Daisy' all day too. Soo cute! I am quite a fan of the show myself and sing the Iggle Piggle song randomly. Very sad!! I know what you mean about 'real friends'. I find it quite disappointing too.
I turned 30 on the weekend and we had our 1st night away from Julian. We stayed at a hotel in the city on the 35th floor and we had a great time. Got to eat breakfast on our own, get ready without a whinging bubba and have dinner in peace!! The little luxuries i had forgotten all about! We missed Julian and we happy when we were reunited, I think he was quite relieved too! My brother and his fiance slept over to look after him and when we returned they were exhausted. They told me they couldn't believe what hard work it was and how did I manage! It was great because they often looked at me in disbelief when I told them how exhausted I was, my brothers comment was 'but you stay home all day!'.
Hope you are all doing well!
-
Jan - good for you having a night away. I had a friend say on Sunday that she was sick of SAHMs saying how tough their job was. I had to bite my tongue and say nothing because if I did I doubt we'd still be friends!!
Well, its all over. After a bottle at 3.30 am and again at 10.00 am she had nothing all day. She slept almost the entire day on my Mum's shoulder. She was so completely exhausted. Very little in the way of a wet nappy, no more bottle. After her only having about 400mls in 34 hours I gave in at 4.40 pm and gave her a breastfeed. My heart was breaking watching her and I was getting to the point of being terrified my milk would dry up and I'd still have a baby I couldn't bottle feed. I'm on the waiting list for an appointment at the GP tomorrow (usual call at 8.00 am for an appointment and they'll try to squeeze me in) and will then get a referral to a paed. I just hope something has changed to give us a medication option for Elena to keep her breastfeeding that Izzy couldn't have. Feeling incredibly deflated by the whole thing. I just want my baby to be healthy and happy and feel as if everything is conspiring against us at the moment.
Again, thank you ladies for your support. There have been many tears today but a lot of them were overwhelming happiness at your kindness and support so thanks again.
-
Lulu- DONT YOU DARE BE SAD!!!! You have done an amazing job at this bottle situation! Sit back in the computer chair and really look at how well you gave it a shot! ;)
The thing is, is every baby is different and you have to try different allies with your different babies. This ally didn't work, there are MANY others :)
Dont be sad it didn't work, be proud how hard you tried
PLease stop being diflated as this time in your life WILL NOT last and once its over and done with you'll be able to move forward with your beautiful little family and this will all be past :hug: Take care and good luck with the appointments
-
Oh no Lulu - sorry you had a bad day hun. But you know that Elena can do it, it just might take some time for her to take a bottle at every feed. Can you maybe combine boob and bottle and then gradually take away boob? Not sure if that will help??? Good luck at the doctor hun. I'd like to punch your friends lights out lol, let me guess, she has no kids right?????
Jan happy birthday for last weekend and welcome to the 30 club!! Your weekend away sounded like it was great.
Better go, try to get back later!
-
Lulu, sorry to hear she isn't taking the bottle. It must be so frustrating. Maybe you could keep trying with the bottle every so often, just in case she changes her mind. I hope the paed appt goes well. Remember that you got through it with Izzy and you will this time too. Though I am sure you are exhausted and totally over it at this point. What a terrible thing for your friend to say. Could she perhaps be jealous that she isn't pregnant or have a partner? I always wonder what is behind thoughtless and selfish comments like that! I don't think I could have kept my mouth shut if someone said that to me!
-
Jan - I think you're exactly right. She is a large woman and is very much single. I think a lot of it stems from jealousy and even more from loneliness. I sympathise with her, but at the same time don't see why I should be expected to be supportive of her when she's having problems at work etc, and I can't get any support or understanding for the problems that I have at "work"!!
I've just got home from the GP and have now got an appointment to see a paed who specialists in allergies. I can't believe it, but I have an appointment with this guy tomorrow morning! He is on leave but is coming in especially to see Elena - guess it helps that her problems fall into his area of expertise and interest. Hopefully he will be able to suggest something to help her. Will let you all know how it goes. Otherwise, we will continue to offer her bottles every so often.
To top it all off, Izzy is not well. Don't know what's wrong with last night while she was in the bath she kept grabbing at her tummy and crying. Then when I got her out her tummy was completely rigid and she was shivering like crazy. Rugged her up and she fell asleep lying across my lap last night well before bed time. Today she has not played at all and is either wrapped around DH or me. I don't know if I should be taking her to the doctor or not. She's eating, doesn't have a temperature (although feels warm to touch) and still has wet nappies etc. She's never been sick so I'm a bit at a loss. The cuddles are lovely but I'd much rather my little girl was running around creating havoc
-
Lulu- Thats great the doctor is making a speacal apperiance (SP) for little Elena ;)
With Izzy I dont want to worry you, but I would take her to the doctors or hossy depending on how she is tonight. I just that Annabelle is EXTREAMLY lovey but still eating I listen to my mummy instincts ;)
-
Awww Lulu  You guys really are in the wars aren't you. That is great that you are able to get in to see the specialist so fast hun, I really hope you are able to work out something that works for you and your princess.
If Izzy is eating etc could she just have had some wind pain or something? Has she been dirtying her nappies like usual? If she hasn't perked up tomorrow I would be inclined to go get her checked out too hun. I know some people don't like running to the GP for every little thing but I figure that a "she's fine go home" is better than finding out I left something too long. Good luck babe.
Off to put my feet up and read my PP mag! Have a nice night ladies! :)
-
Good luck with the paed Lulu - I hope he has some suggestions to get you guys back on track! Poor Izzy, I hope she is ok. Jeepers, when it rains it pours hey? Take care!
Ok going to do a quick dash with the vacuum while El is sleeping, have a lovely day all!
-
I'm back!
Hey girls,
I finally have my net on at home so I'M BACK!!!!!!
How is everyone?!?! Please everyone give me a quick rundown on how all the bubs, I mean TODDLERS are doing!
Blake is 16 months, following my demands, starting to slowly speak (mum, dad, ta, uh oh, oh no, NO, woof woof, meow, quack), stilllll not sleeping through, one nap a day. That's about the general gist!
Lulu-How did the paed appointment go? What exactly are they seeing her for? Sorry for not catching up I just have so much to read through.
Tan-Do you need any clothes/wraps etc? I have tonnes of stuff an I'm not planning anymore kids for at least 10 years lol so I'd be more than happy to take pics and send them down if you're interested?
-
Ash! Welcome back to the world of internet!!! :) Good to hear from you hun! I just went through all the clothes and stuff I have been given and OMG I have SOOO much stuff already and our little man isn't even here yet! I bought a bunch of stuff from a girl at MG and there are probably 5 things in the box of 40 that I will use! Thanks anyway lovely!
Isabelle is just great! She is running everywhere and has been for a while. Just started jumping and tyring to climb the couch but is still a bit little for it. She is such a joy - she chatters away all day long, but none of it really makes sense! She says daddy, teddy, no(thats a new one - but she doesn't know what it means yet and says it all the time! hehe! Cute for now!) mummy occasionally, hello, and she does this thing where she hides something behind her and in her baby language turns her hands palm up and says "where is it" (babble) and then finds it and say "eeee idis" (Here it is!) OMG so gorgeous! :) Her speech seems a bit behind but Im not too worried seeing as she didn't even babble for soooo long and she understands everything we tell her, like put it back, don't touch, come with me, where is teddy/daddy?, lets have a bath, are you tired, do you want a nap - and will grab our finger and take us to the bathroom or her bedroom for a nap!
Right enough about Iz! The weather is glorious here today so am trying to get motivated to tidy up but I just want a nap! Only 5 weeks to go! Eeeek! Have a great day ladies!
Lulu - hope you and your princesses are ok, let us know how you are doing hun.
-
HIya all!
Ash great to have you back hun!!!! Um well where to start? Miss Elena has been walking since 11 months and now runs everywhere. She is a huge chatterbox (just like her mum lol!) and has just started to string words together. Her favourite sayings are 'bye bye see ya' and 'hey mate' ! Loves hide and seek, chasing the dog and the Night Garden. Still 2 naps a day (woo hoo!), 8 teeth (no molars yet) and a very healthy appetite. Ok that's enough lol!
Lulu - hope you guys are ok???
Tan - 5 weeks!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm so excited for you guys!
Ok gotta go, heading to Mum's for dinner so better go start getting ready. Hope you are all having a great weekend.
-
Hi ladies - welcome back Ash. Great to hear that Blake is doing so well. Izzy is doing amazingly well - not talking really (just a few sounds and the odd word), has 13 teeth and her comprehension is amazing. She builds blocks and towers out of things higher than she is, uses rational thought to solve problems (like building a tower out of books so she can stand on it to reach something higher up!) and just generally keeping us on our toes. Like Lis' Elena, lucky to still be getting two sleeps a day from her.
Tan - my goodness you're almost there. It seems like only last month I fell pregnant again, let alone you!! How's the great name search going?
Ok. Elena. Went to the paed on Thursday morning - he is a "paediatric allergist", so specialises in Elena's problems. He suggested expressing off 5 minutes or so first to get rid of the higher lactose concentration of BM. Also suggested giving her mylanta before feeds 3 times a day. If that didn't work his solution for getting her on the bottle given her past stubborness was to put her into hospital and tube feed her for 48 hours. Sounded awfully drastic but given what else has gone on, really the only solution. Called Friday to tell him the expressing and mylanta hadn't helped so we were booked in for hospital for this morning - they were going to watch what happened while I fed her and then the after effects. Then we'd go down the tubing road and just make sure the formula did suit her better before we completely gave breastfeeding away. She and I would stay in until tomorrow evening. Got home late yesterday afternoon to find that we have forgotten to add Ellie to our private health cover so would have to pay ourselves (minimum of $2,000), or wait the two month waiting period for the cover to kick in, or wait until we could get in as a public patient (who knew when - would have to speak to the paed about this but told it could be months). I completely lost it, telling DH I just couldn't cope anymore so we would have to go in anyway and pay - I think I was planning on selling one of Ellie's kidneys while we were in hospital to pay for it ;-) Elena was hungry so I went to feed her when DH said he'd just give the bottle one more try. And the stubborn little girl took it. And the next one. And the next one! I went out for breakfast and book club this morning, during which DH spoke to the paed who said we should wait to see what happens over the weekend to see if she still takes bottles with soy formula in them and to see what effect they have on her, but if we didn't have any luck then he would do whatever he had to do to get her in as a public patient Monday afternoon or Tuesday. Such an amazing man, and the furtherest thing you expect when you deal with specialists. He seems genuinely interested in finding a solution to our problems, which is such a relief.
So, Ellie has now taken four bottles from DH since last night (without us having to resort to starving her again) and we will persevere over the course of the weekend and hope she will take them more readily and regularly. Then take things from there on Monday.
So, all in all some good news at last. She seems so much more settled on the soy, and in fact when I gave her a breastfeed this afternoon (paed suggested I alternate bottle and breast so she doesn't get constipated with the sudden change), she got really upset and vomitted lots (and lots and lots). Everything is pointing to us being right and her having exactly the same issues as Izzy, so hopefully it will be as simple a solution as her being on the soy.
Sorry for the selfish post but have to get the girls to bed, dinner for us and then try to get some sleep somewhere. I was actually looking forward to going to hospital for the weekend to get some much needed sleep. Still, will sacrifice sleep happily if it means Elena gets cured without having to have any invasive action being taken.
Hope mums and tots everywhere are happy and healthy this weekend.
-
Good evening mums.hope all the bubs r being good.
LULU- I really hope evrything works out for u sweetie, lets hope for ur sake u don't have 2 resort 2 tube feeding..but I guess if its what needs to b done 2 help with bottle feeding then ur "gotta be cruel to b kind"..I don't envy u at all but am hopeful for u xo.
I can't believe u only have 5 weeks 2 go tan..have u packed that bag yet?? Lol
OK,I sit here reading and then typing this post with my leg in plaster..I fell over my vacuum cleaner on thursday and broke my foot..the pain was 10 times worse than labour and I was screaming the house down...but get this,my darling neighbours actually thought DP and I were getting it on!!! Omg how bad is that lol...so I gotta see an orthopedic surgeon at werribee mercy soon and get them 2 check it out because its the bone that runs from ur little toe on top of foot that I have broken, and in 2 places..there is heaps of muscle near it pulling on the bones which make it harder 2 heal..so may need an op!!! Argghhh..I got a 4.5 yr old and 16 mth old,and boy is it hard..DP is being such a darling though..he now realises just how much I do around the house..oh well won't hurt him do help lol...makes it extra hard as my cousin was airlifted to rwh last week @ 32 weeks pregnant with severe pre eclampsia.she lives in shepparton.she had bubs last sunday via emerg c section,,bubs was only 2lb 6 oz but came out screaming her lungs out...all going well thank god...well low and behold the hospital kicked my cousin out wednesday..so she was going 2 stay here so I could help her while bubs still @ rwh..but I can't b of much help with leg in plaster..so in the end the rwh organised a unit close to them for her 2 stay at..guilt trip over for me now... ok I have had my vent and selfish post.....oh hang on,im bleeding again ladies...can anything else go wrong!!! Hehe...also got referral to see specialist dr calandra in werribee for this bleeding prob..have any of u heard of him?...
I hope all u mummies out there have better days than me atm..xo

Hi, just popping in to say hi!! i am still here, am just still in a cleaning frenzy waiting for our guests to arrive. They are on their way from perth so will be here sometime this week. My house is having a major spring clean!!!
Lulu, I hope everything is going ok, fingers crossed she starts taking more bottles.
hello to everyone else, just wanted to say I am still here!!!! Have been trying to pop on now and again, but I promise I will be back soon once my house is in order!! (if that is posible with 3 kids messing it up as I clean....)
xxxxxxx
-
It's been a while. I have a hard time keeping up when I have a few subscribed threads so lets see how I go!!
Shelle - I hear you on the spring cleaning. I can't imagine what it is like with 3 kids to help mess it up, it's hard enough with just the one.
Hubba - You poor thing!!! I hope you are getting lots of help from your DH!!! For the love of housework eh? I have not heard of the doctor but do a BellyBelly search and see what you come up with. If there is nothing you can always post in the doctor recomendation thread.
Lulu - That is great news on the progress!!! It must be frustrating to have to go through it all once again but at least you now have some answers. I hope it all gets better for you soon hun
Sangie - Sounds like Elena is growing in leaps and bounds. It is so exciting watching them grow up and learn new things eh?
Tan - Not long to go now  I have my fingers crossed for your VBAC. If you can do it then so can I!!! You have great support behind you which will be very helpful!
Ash - Welcome back to the www!!! Hmm let me see, Noah started walking just after his 1st b-day. He says about 10 words, loves his cars and music. Just starting to get his molars in and that is about it I think...
Jan - Happy belated Birthday!!! Glad to hear you had a great night!
Hi to everyone else that I missed!!
I spent the day cleaning my bedroom, it was a disgrace!!! I had a wardrobe with a pile of 40 shoes on the bottom and clothes all over my floor. It is getting close to white tail time and we get them bad in this house so it was time to clean it all up. I can say the bedroom is spotless now and Juz was very impressed
In exciting news!!! I have a doula for this birth. I will be meeting her in the next month or 2 but from the convo I had with her on the phone I know I like her already. She happens to be the wife of the midwife I had a horror time with if you can believe it. He wasn't all bad but I think the only male I want in the room is Juz.
I also got a parcel from the basket factory and a note saying complements of J&J and it was a basket full of all the J&J baby products!!! I can't think of what comp I entered for it but it was an excellent surprise and I will happily accept it
Well I better feed my monster, I think 2 minute noodles. I just had no time to prepare a meal with cleaning my room :s
Hope everyone had a great start to the week!!! Bye for now!!!
-
HB - sorry to hear things still aren't going well. Can't help you with the doctor either.
Shell - oh no! Visitors from Perth!! They must be bad. Ha ha. I hope you enjoy their visit.
Sarah - good news from you all around - unexpected presents, doula etc. And your pregnancy is just flying along too.
Well, Elena will only take a bottle during the middle of the night. Go figure that one out - maybe she's a vampire in disguise?? She is now getting very sick after breastfeeds, but is fine when she does actually take a formula bottle. So, we're going into hospital tomorrow for a couple of days. I really hope they can confirm that she is "cured" on the formula, and then do something magic that makes her take a bottle every time. I hate the thought of my tiny girl being poked and prodded, but am very pleased we are hopefully now at the final hurdle.
So, will be away for a few days. Will let you all know how it goes.
-
Lulu - wishing you guys all the best for the next few days and praying that Miss Elena co-operates. At least you know she can take a bottle hey? Cheeky monkey just doesn't want to! Take care of yourself and your princesses
HB - OMB talk about drama! Sorry can't help you with the Dr either, but hopefully you can get this bleeding sorted out soon.
Sarah - YAY for the doula and the J&J stuff, that's awesome! Can't believe how quick your pg is going too!
Shell - hope all goes well with your Perth visitors!
Not much to report here, just been busy as usual. Thinking I need a holiday and I've told DH that after we have moved we are booking a family holiday for early next year, no excuses!
Have a good night everyone, hope all toddlers are behaving.
-
Quick one here! Im sooo tired and need sleep I think! We went to a gig last night and Im not used to going to bed at 12!
 to HB - hope you get things sorted out with your Dr hun, and Lulu - good luck lovely, I really hope they can help you guys out so you can enjoy your girls.
:hello: to Sarah, Shell, Lis, Ash, Kass, Dan, Jan, Mabello, Kristen and everyone I've missed - hope you are all wonderful!
Ok off to bed but I have been reading! xoxox
-
I'll be back later to catch up on personals as I've got a bit to catch up on, YAY!!! We have been in Melbourne for the last four days scattering my grandparents ashes and catching up with the family. The house needs some desperate attention so I'll pop back later but had to say HI to all you fabulous ladies.
-
Hi all! How are we???
Lulu - hope things are going well for you and your gorgeous girls. Praying that this is the last hurdle for you guys
Tan - how you feeling hun? Hope you are enjoying your mat leave and taking a well deserved rest, well as much as you can with an active 15 month old lol!
Sorry to be quick, hello to you all and hope things are well! Gotta go and get this house sorted, of course nothing gets done the days I work so need Thursdays as my catch up day. I still can't figure out how the place gets so cluttered when we are hardly here those two days and god forbid if DH actually did anything. Ok sorry, vent over!
Will BBL! Have a fantastic day!
-
Hi lovely ladies. Great news from us. We are now home from hospital and my gorgeous little girl is taking bottles from me whenever she's hungry. Even better is that she is having no problem going from a bottle feed to a breastfeed and back again - great that she can do it without refusing the bottle next time, and brilliant that her tummy is dealing really well with alternating between breast and formula. I'm not sure how long it will last because my supply is already noticeably reduced, or else I'm hugely engorged and in agony. I'll be sad when the breastfeeding is done but at the same time, I'm just relieved with the difference in Ellie. Her auspicious moment in hospital was when she rolled over back to front for the first time. She is now doing it constantly. I wish I had written down more dates of Izzy's "milestones" because I just can't remember. I'll have to go back through our old threads and find out.
Otherwise, Izzy is doing really well, although was very unsettled when I was in hospital and is taking a bit to get back to normal. She has a mouthful of teeth - just incredible how they have all appeared all of a sudden. I've been going on a bit of a shopping binge for her too - she's grown so much! I had thought she would still be able to wear the size 0 jeans she started winter in, that were rolled over at the waist and up at the cuffs but they're so short on her now!!
Anyway, better go. I hope everyone is doing well. Have a great weekend everybody - I know my DH is really looking forward to Father's Day with his two gorgeous girls.
-
Hi, how is everyone going! Seems our little ones are keeping us all busy!!! Our guests from Perth should be here within the hour so I am very excited!! Be nice to have someone other than Angus at home with me to chat to during the day!! And...my house is clean, so that is a bonus of having guests over!!!!
Tan - glad to hear your little man is head down for you. Sorry about the unsupportive ob though, what a cow. Stick to your guns - i know you can do it!!
Lulu - How have the last few days been?? Hope you and the girls are going OK.
Dan - How is work and TTC going? Bet it is all keeping you busy!!!
Lis - Holidays, great idea!! The kids and I are going to Cairns next March when DH goes away on a fishing trip. Why should he have all the fun!!!!
Sarah - Congrats on the doula - did you meet up with her yet? Are you a vbac also?? Sorry, I am braindead tonight! Good on you for cleaning - I hate it but always feel better afterwards!!
Ash - welcome back!!! How are things?? Did things work out OK with Dave in the end??
Kass - hello!!! How is Miss Annabelle going? Love your ticker she is so cute!!
Hi, to everyone else - I can't go back a page cause I keep losing this!!! So hello out there to you all!!
Anyway, I am doing some last minute washing etc, might run over the floors again - Angus decided he would throw his whole bowl of pasta on the floor - yay. Oh, I do have some exciting news haha I went and brought myself a new dining table and buffet - woo hoo!!!! Have my table now, but had to order my buffet in. But thats OK, only kinda had permission to buy table, I have a month to tell DH that I brought a buffet as well hahahaha!!!
Take care!!xxxxx
-
Hello ladies! Been full on here. Annabelle's molers are killing her we tried to do it pain nedication free and just give cuddles in bed. We succeded for about a month all up. Then her gums just got worse and she started a fever so out came the panadol
Im slowly making some good dishes for her with vegies and they are getting in her little belly!!!
Clint and I are working things out slowly but surely. Im having extreamly high days and then extreamly low days so may have to see my doctor as Im started to not feel myself.
Other then the odd off day we are great!
Annabelle is just so wonderful and amazing, she just realised she can walk backwards :cryinglaugh: now does it everywhere! And in circles too! She says about 30-35 words now! Her new ones are "hello" and "purple" She is starting to understand so much! Today, she must have had a good sleep last night, as she woke repeating EVERYTHING very clearly!
Question- We dont smack her, but she is smacking and lashing out when she gets frustrated? I have been getting down to her level (so she isn't intimidated) and looking her dead in the eye and telling her a stern "NO." We are going to introduce time out, I dont expect her to actually sit there but I think if we at least intoduce it now then she will have the hang of it eventually. What do you ladies think of this?
Ash- Welcome back! I can now get to know you properly!
Tan- So glad little man is head down! How is Izzy? How are you feeling, the bigger you get???
Lulu- Yay!!!! Im so happy things are slowly but surely working out! I think you will see a hole other little girl come out of Ellie now ;) Alsoyou hole house hold will be a calmer one. Izzy will settle back in. Plus there mummy will be happier now so thats all they could ask for
Shell- Yeppee!!! For guests! How long are they staying for? House clean with more then one child in it!??? You have to tell me how you did it  New furniture sounds great! Whats news with Angus?
D- How are things with Dp? And of course TTC#2!!!!?????
Sarah- Yay! For a doula! I know where you're coming from with the bedroom. Some how the hole house could be clean but I still choose to shut the bedroom door and leave it as long as possible! What a great surprise getting a parcel full of goodies! How is Noah? Whats he up to these days?
Hi to anyone else I have missed, if I have missed anyone  sorry!
Question for you pg ladies- I still see Annabelle as such a baby, how do you explain to a baby that there's another baby? Lulu- How is Izzy? Would they act older then Annabelle as they are put in the position?
-
Kass - Im glad you are working things out with Clint hun. As far as the discipline stuff goes it is realy tough. Problem is for these little ones, they don't really understand much more than cause and effect - so if I throw this toy off the high table it will fall to eh floor, mum will pick it up and I can throw it again! If they throw it AT us for example and it hurts us they don't really know what they have done. Izzy went through a hitting phase too a while ago - not sure if you remember my posts about it. I read Toddler Tactics and found the best thing I could do was completely ignore her behaviour and distract her to something else. It was the BEST thing we did. She very rarely does it now, and even if she does, she quickly stops. I found if I say NO when she is frustrated and doing something like that, it makes her do it more because she doesn't know why she is doing it - if that makes sense. If she touches something she shouldn't etc. we say "no don't touh baby you will get hurt" "come here with me" etc with an explanation too. HtH - it is really tough at this age when they are learning so much and are just curious about everything.
My POV is that it is really is such a great learning time and we can either be negative about it and say Oh terrible twos etc. or be postitive like we are in our house we have a Wonderful One and will have a Terrific Two!! It is our responsibiltiy to guide these cheeky little ones and teach and encourage them within safe limits! Gosh Im babbling on - ignore everything I have said if you like!
Shell - Thanks hun! I was so frustrated but as I mentioned in my post I know I am right and the stupid Dr was wrong but it doesn't make it any easier to stick up for yourself!
How are all your little poppets going!?? :hooray: for the table and buffet! I desperately need a buffet for more storage around here!
Lulu - That is just AWESOME news hun!!!!! So glad your poppet is taking bottles hun and I know you will be sad, but you know what you need to do for your little girl lovely. I know what you mean about teeth - I wish my Iz would use them a bit more often to chew yummy food! I still put poor Iz in size 0 trackies around the house, and she looks so funny! Mean mummy!
Lis - I know what you mean about DH! Im 8 mths pg for goodness sake and he thinks doing the dishes if I cook is housework. Nice one! When is your settlement date hun??? I am relaxing as much as I can but feel tireder than I did when I was working! So odd!
:hello: all you lovely ladies and bubs!
SOOO relieved that our little man is HEAD DOWN!!!!!!!!! Yippee bring on the VBAC!!!!! I won't go into detail because I have a whole thread about the annoying Ob but even that isn't bugging me now and I just can't wait to meet out little fella in a few weeks time!!! :hooray: Last minute Fathers Day shopping today and a Hens day for a girl at MG! Yay! Have a great one all!
-
Tan - whoooooohooooooo. What a good obedient boy you've got there. And finally. A male who obviously asked for directions!! So pleased for you that he's turned. VBAC here you come. I reckon you're going to be 11 days early this time - Izzy was pretty late wasn't she?
Shell - yay on new furniture. How lovely. I know what you mean about purchasers that weren't quite discussed, let alone agreed(!) with DH.
Kass - everything I've read says that your firstborn is more likely to regress a little, rather than grow up more quickly. Izzy certainly got a bit sookier and baby-like when Elena was born. She's back to her very precocious self now though. I think the rule of thumb is that your first will go through a bit of a jealousy phase, but that your second will do things a bit quicker because they'll have No. 1 to teach them - God help us!!
I can't tell you all how much happier I've woken up this morning. Elena was in bed asleep by 9pm, Izzy by 8pm. Ellie woke at 3am for a bottle which DH gave her while I expressed. She woke at 6.50 am, took a bottle from me and is now happily playing on her mat. DH has gone off to golf and Izzy has only just woken up. The sun is shining, the birds are singing, my pear trees are getting more and more blossoms on them every day and for today at least, the world is a nice place to be.
-
Kass - Your brave trying to go without pain medication! As soon as there is unexplained crying that isn't a result of hunger or being too warm/cold or a wet nappy I start slathering on the Bonjela. If there is still crying after that I whip out the Panadol. Usually the Bonjella does the trick though.
Lulu - Great to hear everything is looking up now!
Tan - :cheer: on little man heading in the right direction! I just briefly checked out the other thread. I would def write a letter to that hospital about that horrid doctor.
Shell - Woohoo on the new furniture!!! I bet it looks great. Your DH should get over the buffet, just have it delivered and if he says anything just say that you have had it for ages
Okey Dokey, sorry for the lameo personals but I have carpets to clean and clothes to hang and walls to wash. Juz has gone to Melb for the weekend and I have spring cleaning fever in a bad way (much easier without him around ). Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend!!!

Hi all! Happy Father's Day to all the daddies! :D
Ellie gave her dad a 'Dad's Bag' from Darrell Lee and she made him a card! Well scribbled on some paper anyway lol! We had a busy day catching up with my dad, DH's dad and his grandad. And I ate way too much food!
Tan - YAY on your little prince, what a good boy hey? LOL I don't think he asked for directions though, what man does that? I think he used a GPS! VBAC here you come! Settlement is in 2 weeks but we won't be moving in until the floors are ripped up and replaced, hoping it will be done sometime in November. Lucky for us we have sold this house to my BIL and future SIL and they are happy for us to stay until the major renos are finished in the new place.
Lulu - so glad that things are looking up hun!
Shell - YAY on the new furniture. Tell your DH that you deserve the buffet lol, cause you really really do!
Kass- congrats on sorting things out with Clint hun. I'm also reading Toddler tactics, its worth a read! I'm feeling much more relaxed about this stage now and beyond.
M - hope you had a productive afternoon in the garden. I want to start a vegie patch when we are settled in our new place. I have only ever grown herbs so should be interesting, may have to ask your advice lol! What are you growing?
Sarah - yay for spring cleaning! Hhhhmmmm nesting already???? :D
Dan - how are you going hun? Hope all is well!
Hello to anyone I missed and sorry! Gonna head off and relax with DH, been such a busy weekend and I'm exhausted. Hoping that Ellie sleeps in tomorrow morning! Catch ya's all later.

Hi all gorgeous mummies,
Tan - on your little spunkie man being head down. VBAC here you come! Have you been talking to Izzy about becoming a big sister? Is her room all organised or what did you end up doing?
Sangie - OMG how exciting that settlement is coming up so coming and doing reno's, YAY!!! Be prepared that Elena may not sleep in her new room for a while. Took Livvy over a week to sleep in her new room, GGGGRRRR!!!!
D - Fantastic news that things are looking up between you and DH now. Keep up the great work darl. How's little man's walking going? Just about running?
Kass - YAY on working things out with Clint. I can just picture Annabelle walking around backwards in circles. It would be so gorgeous. Gee they make us laugh at the moment don't they. I love this age and it's obvious that you are too. I see your signature says you are going to start TTC#2 soon, YAY!
Lulu - OMG how amazing that your little princess is taking a bottle and still b/f. You are doing amazingly well. Has Izzy shown any interest in b/f when Elena does? How is Izzy adjusting to being a big sister? Is she gentle with her little sister or not really give her much attention? Is Izzy still having two sleeps a day for you or down to one?
Shelle - I'm jealous that you have finished your spring clean. I so want mine finished too. Enjoy your visitors and we'll chat soon gorgeous.
Sarah - How's the spring cleaning going? I'm doing the same thing. We've only been in here a few months and it is already filthy. Going to get Dave to take Livvy out for the day over the weekend so I can scrub the floors with help. How's your gorgeous man going? Has he settled back in home after being a jet setting bubba?
So who's toddlers have their molars? Livvy is showing no sign of getting her molars. I really want them through so she can eat more different foods.
How amazing is this sunshine!!! Livvy and I have spent basically the last week outside playing. I love this weather. My little girl is growing up so big I can't believe it. Whenever Dave does anything it is an absolute guarantee that his little shadow is right there beside him 'helping'. She is getting so incredibly independant I can't believe that either. Her eating has improved dramatically and eats all day long. I just can't believe how good things are with livvy at the moment. I have finally learnt to put playing with livvy infront of the housework. Mind you my house is an absolutely pigsty but Livvy and I are having a ball. I think I need to work out somehow to fit both in my day .
Absolutely no luck making Livvy a big sister but hey it has to happen at some stage, doesn't it??? Even Dave had high hopes this month but I have got all my AF symptoms so the evil witch will show her face soon. Dave is frustrated this month and said "right that's it. Next month we are doing twice a day everyday, LOL! Like I'm going to put out that much, LOL!! I got a referral to my FS from the GP today so it's off to the FS end of October to try and get knocked up, LOL!!
Alright I'm off to do more housework. Hope it's worth it when I'm done.
Chat later gorgeous mummies!!
-
awww dan...af arrived for me too. One day early and in the middle of the casino with no pads on me!! HOW DAMN RUDE OF HER!!
-
Dan and D - sorry to hear that AF arrived - good luck with the FS Dan! I know what you mean about the sunshine - we have loved every minute of it, makes it so much easier to get up in the morning. We don't have a yard (well it's all deck and pool) so I've been exploring lots of little parks for Iz and she's loved that! I have tried her on her big girl bed a few times for day naps and she just gets up and plays with her toys - even with her sleeping bag on so I have given up for now because I simply don't have the energy to resettle her a million times a day. Once bub is here and we are a bit more settled with him, I will try again. We decided to keep her in her own room to minimise disruption for her(pics are in my gallery! :)) I will take some of the nursery and post too for you guys to see!
Lis - that is great that you are able to stay put til you are ready to move in. DH and I had 8 weeks with friends in between selling and buying and we had to put everything in storage - major PITA. Izzy drew DH a pic too - she LOVES her crayons and scribbles away!
D - Hope you are feeling better hun.
Sarah - nesting a bit early love!! :) This sunny weather is great for the spring cleaning motivation though! Hope you had a good weekend lovely!
Lulu - So glad you are having an easier time of it hun - fingers crossed it keep sup for you lovely.
:hello: to everyone I have missed!
Im copying and pasting frm elsewhere - sorry way tired and need my bath and bed!
Well I have DH home probably until baby is born! He subs for production companies and there is no point calling a few now to get work, when he might not start for a few weeks and then need to tell them he needs a few weeks off! I love having him home - gives me a break and also gives him time with our girl and me!
I had another night from hell last night - poor Izzy must have had a tummy ache, and neither of us slept from around 2-til 5:30. We had nice cuddles and kisses though when she was wide awake with me in her big girl bed! Thank goodness DH was home, so I could have a sleep in this morning.
My suitcase is on the floor of our room! Heehee! It has pjs in it, some pads and that's it but now when people ask me I can say YES I've started packing for hospital! I CAN'T wait to meet our little guy!!!!
