Dan - So glad you are feeling better babe! We have benchtops in and DH s tiling todya. The new doors will be arriving in the next week. Izzy is in her big bed, she loves it but if she is a bit awake we still find she will occasionally get out of bed and play instead of sleep - just means we have to go in to resettle a bit but overall its working really well! Jameswent back to his 6 hour sleep but even that is great so Im not complaining! He fed 2 hourly afer the 9 hour sleep so Id rather 3 hours! I had Izzy's 18mth check next month (busy too) and I think shw ill only just be around 11 kgs so don't stress lovely!
Lis -I will post pics soon of the kitchen!! DH used all our dowloads so I ahve to wait to the 1st to do anything! Even just normal browsing costs us and Im fuming. Im at mums today getting my BB and intenet hit but wont have it at home. So frustrating! My MCHN is on the 19 Dec - so Izzy will be 19mths old! Ugh I need to go and get her 18mth shots - not looking forward to that but want to do it now while I can and then I have James' shots in a month too.
Kass - SO exciting TTC! I know what you mean aobut hte new baby because I was wondering in the last few weeks of my pregnancy how on earth I would love anohter person like I do Izzy and its so true what they say about your love not dividing but multiplying for each one. I gve Izzy as much time as I can and Iforgot how much newbrns sleep and other than booby and cuddes they do'n't need as much as toddlers so there is plenty of time for everyone to adjust!
Tan - your new kitchen sounds like its coming along beautifully. Very exciting. When did you put Izzy in the big bed first?? How did you go initially? I'm wondering if I should maybe take the side off Izzy's cot so that it turns into a junior bed. I'm just worried she'll be getting up and wandering every time she wakes up! How is James going? Sounds like he is starting to sleep really well for you. Much easier to deal with average day sleeps if you're getting a really good sleep at night. Elena has only just started sleeping decently during the day - I now get at least 2 hours out of her in the morning which is heaven - the girls actually sleep at the same time so I get time to do all the housework while they're both asleep which is sooooo much easier than trying to do it when one or both are up.
Dan - glad you're feeling better sweetie. Don't hesitate next time if you are suffering. MS is such a horrible thing. Sounds like Livvy is testing her mummy well and truly at the moment. Try not to stress about it - she may be picking up a bit of a hormone change with you and that little bean you're growing. I know Izzy certainly went through some weird periods. And definitely don't stress about her weight. FWIW Iz is 80cm tall, so a bit taller than Livvy, but almost half a kg lighter than Livvy. My MCHN says she's absolutely fine - she's consistently been on the same line of weight, is full of energy, bright and alert. We both just have lovely little fairy girls, that's all. Don't know about you though but it makes clothes a nightmare. I just bought Izzy a couple of size 1 skirts and they literally fall off her.
Kass - good luck with the TTC. I hope your journey is a very, very short one!
Lis - how are the renos going? Nightmare time but hopefully it will pass quickly for you. Do you think there's a chance you'll be in your new house for Christmas? Crossing my fingers for you that you will.
TT is going slowly with Izzy. She happily sits on her potty or the toilet seat but nothing happens yet. She knows when she is about to wee and if she doesn't have her nappy on she gets really distressed but no matter how many times I take her to the potty or the toilet she won't do anything. She's had only a couple of accidents and is really upset when she does. I'm trying not to pressure her though so most of the time when she obviously needs to do something if she doesn't do anything on the potty within a couple of times of taking her to it I'm just putting her nappy back on. Do you think I'm doing the right thing? Damn this is hard when you don't have the operator's manual!
Hi all! So what exciting things did you all get up to on the weekend. Spent most of mine with a paintbrush in my hand. Tip for you all: don't try to paint a house with a toddler lol!
Tan bummer about the downloads. Oh well not long until the 1st dec (as scary as that sounds!). Have to get Ellie's needle soon too, not looking forward to it at all.
Lulu how is the TT going? Sorry I have no clue whether putting the nappy back on is right or not, clearly I need an instruction manual too. Hopefully somebody who has been there and done that will give some advice.
Dan hope you are still feeling well. How is Livvy?
Shell where are you hun? Hopefully just too busy to get on BB!
Kass so excited for you TTC!
Well that's it from me, I'm exhausted and have decided that DH can finish painting the new house by himself lol! We got heaps done though and it looks so much better! Gonna go get some coffee I think and sit in front of the TV. Chat soon xxx
Lulu- Izzy had gastro a few weeks ago and we ended up putting her in there when she threw up in her cot and the next day she climbed in wanting her naps there too. She is still in her sleeping bag, we tried stopping it but one of the times she did climb out she sat there with her bag in hand basicaly saying "mum I can't sleep without this on!". She has fallen out a few times but it is so low to the ground we weren't too worried and it hasn't happened for about a week. I found her asleep on her rug on the floor when I went in one night - too cute. She can walk in her bag but she goes down for all naps pretty well, nights are fine and occasionally we have to go in to resettle her for day naps because she has gotten up to play. Phew that was a bit long winded sorry!!! James is doing really well! He slept from 8 til 5 last night! Thing is and this sounds so dumb but I prefer it when he gets up at around 2 and then 6 because he isn't so unsettled during the day then. If he goes that long overnight he tends to want a feed 2 hourly during the day instead of 3-4 hourly. I shouldn't complain I know! I also know after Izzy that it could all turn to pot very fast so I am making the most of it while I can.
Lis - How on earth can you drink coffee at this time of night!!!!!! I would be awake ALL night - can't drink it after 4pm or I am wide awake. Painting sounds interesting wth El around but I love a freshly painted house!! Sounds like you are getting lots done! I am getting Izzy's shots done on Thursday - ugh - not looking forward to them.
We have had a busy weekend - a 1st birthday yesterday and a blessing today - its ben great htough because Izzy has had fun with lots of kids and we got to show off our little man!
Im off to bed - MG tomorrow and I think I will book in to get my hair done!! Chat soon lovelies!
Oh Lis. I can just see Elena giving you a very big help with her own idea of painting!! I hope its going well for you though. FWIW Izzy had her injection last week and she has suffered absolutely no ill effects whatsoever - and the others all really knocked her around. Maybe its because thankfully its just the one vaccine this time?
Tan - thanks for the advice re bed. Izzy is out of her sleeping bag now - she takes it off the second I put her in her cot and just hands it back to me. She's now very attached to her doona instead. Funny little things. I know what you mean about the sleep with James. Elena is the same - much better if she needs a feed around 3am or so. If she has that, then she will have about a 2 hour nap in the morning. If she sleeps through she will only go down for about 40 minutes. And OMG I love that 2 hour nap - crosses over with Izzy's morning sleep and I can actually get some things done! Definitely enjoy those long, uninterrupted sleeps yourself while they last though. Hopefully he will keep sleeping through and soon feed less during the day - after you get through that dreaded 6 week growth spurt of course!!
We had a fantastic day yesterday. Did absolutely nothing and it was bliss. The girls both went down for a morning nap so DH and I went to have a shower and then a nap ourselves. Poor love had other ideas too but then Elena woke up so the three of us climbed into bed together. Izzy soon joined us and we just lazed around and played. By the end of the day we had achieved close to nothing (I had gone to get fruit & vegies), the girls were still in their pjs, the house was a mess of toys everywhere but it was just the nicest day we have had in a very, very long time. Pity we can't do it all the time!
Have a lovely day mums and tots and little bubbies and growing beans (wow that list is growing!!)
Tan I can drink coffee at anytime and still sleep like a log! Good luck with Izzy's injections. I was going to get Ellie's done this week too but she woke up this morning with a lovely snotty nose eeeewwww. Might wait and see how this pans out first, hopefully just a small cold and nothing else! YAY for James sleeping so well, you are so lucky!
Lulu glad to hear Izzy was ok after her injection. Your lazy day sounds awesome! I love having those days in winter.
Well better get some work done. I'm lucky enough to be able to work from home today. At least now I may see some of the sunshine, finally we have some sun after all that crappy weather!!!
Take care ladies xxx
Sorry, I have been MIA. Have been trying to do extra shifts last fortnight to try and help with christmas. We have brought the kids a big 16ft round trampoline with the net plus other pressies for under the tree - so expensive this year!! Just so hard as I am sick of tripping over toys inside!! Trying to concentrate on outside toys!!
Will come back in this arve and do a proper catch up, but just wanted to say I am still here and thinking of you all!! Have a busy day again today, end of year activities at school etc. Be back I promise xxxx
Oh, just wondering if you all got the 18mth chicken pox vacciniation???? I was thinking of not getting it?? Just that I still hear of all the kids who have been vaccined still getting it at a later date anyway? Oh, I don't know what to do!! Eldest DD has had chick pox, middle DD hasn't and not had needle eaither cause it wasn't included in the schedule when she was born? EEck, not sure....Ok, BBL!!
Quickie here too!
Shell- You look HOT mama!
Dan - Try giving Liv a "play" toothbrush, let her play while you do yours, give her one in the bath and if worse comes to worse - hold her down!
Kass - Sending you loads of TTC vibes love.
Im off to Donny today with a gf for lunch and dress shopping for her! Dad is looking after Izzy and DH is working on the kitchen - doors arrived, today pics coming soon!!! Chat soon!
Dan - we give Ellie a toothbrush to 'play' with. She watches me brush my teeth and copies. She seems to love her toothbrush and now she brushes her teddies teeth too lol!
Tan - hope you had a great time at donny's. I still haven't been to check it out.
Kass - sorry AF arrived hun. Fingers crossed for this month!
Danni - great to hear from you! YAY for second tri, that went soooooo fast! Well maybe not for you though! Feeling better?
Hi Shell and Lulu!!
I'm surrounded by boxes and told DH not to pack up the puter so I can jump on BB quickly lol. We are moving tomorrow so I will be offline for a little while. Not sure when we will have the net (DH is supposed to be organising that so who knows!!!). Catch ya's soon, take care xxxx
Dan - Izzy is a bit hit and miss with teeth brushing too. We do an electric tooth brush sound (cos that's what mummy and daddy have) and she seems to enjoy that - opens her mouth wide while we brush. She won't have a bar of tooth paste yet though so I figure its best to at least brush them with water than nothing at all.
Lis - yay for finally being in your lovely home. I hope the move went well and you're slowly getting yourself organised. Brilliant that you'll be in your new home for Christmas. Last year was really special being in our beautiful new home with our gorgeous baby for her first Christmas.
Danni - great news that everything is going well. How's the morning sickness? Are you finding out what you're having this time?
Dan - I hope things settle down for you guys very soon. Izzy went through a stage like that at night when she would scream and the second she was picked up she would cuddle into you. Try to put her down, scream. We tried bringing her to bed with us and like you said with Liv, all she wanted to do was play. Soooooo frustrating. I have a chaise lounge in her room and out of desperation just got to the point of leaving her in her cot and lying on the lounge (falling asleep a lot of the time!). I hope she gets out of it soon though - her mummy needs lots of sleep! I still need to work up the courage to mention yet another new pram to DH. I took the huge double out shopping the other day and Elena was so much happier in it. Might just wait until DH is with me one day and he's the one that has to wrestle the monster pram in and out of the car - then hit him with a new one!!
Kass - sorry about no luck this month. Still, lots of lovely practice over the silly season for you - have to look on the bright side.
Shell - how are you going?? I hope you enjoyed your night out.
I wrapped all the girls' presents last night and put them under the tree. Oh my goodness. I really did go a bit overboard. They have a cubbyhouse thing, slide and swing for outside that they're sharing (although Ellie won't have much use for the slide and cubbyhouse yet). Then Iz has a computerised thing that teaches alphabet, numbers, animals etc, about 6 books, the big Iggle Piggle snuggle pillow, two different stacking things, a little car thing and trailer that she sits on and kicks along with, one of those pull/push along things that the balls pop up in and play dough stuff. El has a thing that converts from sitting on to pushing along to standing in front of activity station, a pull along toy, some blocks, an Upsy Daisy snuggle cushion, blow up ball and square things, some books and a couple of other things that I just can't remember! Waaaaaay too much, especially when you consider that my folks have a cubbyhouse thing and swing for them to live at their place, and at last count 9, yes 9, toys for EACH of the girls. Most spoilt kids on the planet but I just can't help it.
Anyway, better go. Off looking for a new vacuum cleaner today. Hmmmm. Merry Christmas to me??
Just popping in, and going to try and stay regular in updating. I'm so busy with a new job and our happy little family, but it's not hard to pop in and spend a few minutes online with you bootiful mummas.
I am absolutely amazed at all the learning and growing our kids are doing at the moment. Blake is saying all sorts of things and putting words together, the longest at this stage being "I want more" or "I want that". Considering I was so worried about his speech, I'm extremely wrapped with his progression over the past couple of months.
He is still a terrible sleeper at night, but he does have a good sleep at school (always the way). As I'm typing, he is trying to sing Twinkle Twinkle and doing the hand actions, it makes me want to melt!!!
I got Blake a Tonka truck that has 3 other cars it carries, it's massive so have no idea where it's going to go, a Car's outfit, medium sized Hummer, paint, crayons, drawing pad, face painting crayons. I'll probably get him some decent shoes as another gift as he has outgrown everything else and ruined his good pair by peeing in them at school lol.
Speaking of pee, Blake does his poo's in the toilet He knows and shows me he needs to go to the toilet, and I sit with him and encourage and he does it, every time! He is in jocks at school and pull ups at home, and nappy for sleep time and overnight. Getting started with T/T is definitely a big advantage, as they say the boys are way more difficult than the princesses.
That's about all I have to update, I'll try and keep up with everythnig from here on in!
Ash -I'm jealous! I want poos in the toilet too! I have been a bit slack but am going to try after Christmas settles down! Glad you are doing well hun!
Lulu - OMG at the toys but I know what you mean. I haven't counted what we have bought them both yet and I don't think I will! I can't wait to move so we can get a cubby and swing set!
Lis - Doncaster is awesome! I won't bother with CHaddy ever again! So I either go there or Knox now!
Off to play with my snot nosed child - ANOTHER cold. ALl my friends can't believe how often she gets sick and it's made me wonder. Is it normal for them to get sick so often??? Im not sure. I think she picks up stuff at the playgroup we go to. Miss you all!! Chat soon!
