Good Morning Mommies!! It isn't much of a good morning for me until I have a few strong coffees. Noah has not been having much in the way of BM the last 2 days and last night he projectile vomited twice and had several possets, he just wasn't keeping his food down but the day before was fine so it doesn't explain the lack of BM totally. So at 1am after his last vomit which was in bed all over me I got hysterical and screamed at Juz to take us to the A&E, we get the and they do all the stats and everything is fine and we wait for the Dr to show up who just puts a stethiscope on his chest and says "ok you can go home now, he is fine". Needless to say I am not impressed, how can he be fine? If I can't cope with a little vomit how am I going to let my boy do anything, I have put him in a shell already. So I had 2 hours of sleep between 6am and 8am and don't have a chance of a nap until late this afternoon.

How fantastic that all our little ones are gaining weight!

Kelly - I hope you are feeling better today and that you managed to get some sleep. With your nipples going white is that just the tip? I am getting the same thing but haven't thought about it, they do hurt but Noah attaches correctly so it isn't an attachment issue here.

Tan - I am sure you are doing a great job. Is your nipple feeling better yet?

Ashlee - Blakes weight gain is fantastic!

Sez - I did manage to get out, thank god. It was the only nice day to get out too, we are back to rain again! Isn't it funny how any outing is nice, even one to the tip. Liquid Gold, Noah's belly button is looking a little skanky, I might squeeze some milk on it when the bloody cord bit comes off, if it ever comes off...

Well there was my half a$$ed attempt of personals. My brain is just not functioning at all, I better start brewing a latte ASAP.

Hello to all the other lovely mummies!!!

Pretty good half arsed attempt Sarah LOL! Considering your night, you poor things I know how scared you must have been, I was so close to calling an ambulance the other night. I'm sure people think I was being OTT, but he was struggling to breathe for gods sake! Don't you worry, you need to trust your instincts.....mummy knows best! And better safe than sorry anyway. Big for you, I hope that latte (or two!) does the trick. Definitely try the BM when the scabby bit comes off, it really works.

Yep, rain here today too, good day to stay inside if you ask me.......

I can’t believe we are on our second thread already!

Firstly CONGRATULATIONS SARAH ON PASSING YOUR COURSE!!
Also how are things going getting the appt for Noah’s foot? I also just had a look at your latest pics I love how he is smiling while he has his eyes closed. Sarah when I bath Isobella at night it doesn’t seem to settle her; so as of today I am going to try bathing her in the day. Actually as soon as I get off here.

Lulu IKWYM about them waking up to get the wind etc out the other end! I try everything to try and get her to pass it before she goes to sleep but to no avail. Also you are so lucky to have DH home all the time. I only got to have Paul at home for two days. Unfortunately that is how it goes when you work for yourself when the jobs need to be done asap!

Kelly how are you feeling and how it that right nipple going?? Typical about Luke having a good sleep and you not feeling well! If Isobella has a good sleep I keep waking up to check if she is ok. Because it isn’t happening all the time it is hard as I am expecting her to wake up earlier.

Danni & Lulu I was looking at the Brauer Colic Relief yesterday for her. I wanted to see if any of you had been using anything like that before buying it. So I guess you have answered my question. I guess I will just have to try it and see how it goes. Will get some later when I go to get my script filled for the mini pill. Is anyone going or using the mini pill?

And he still fits into all his 00000 clothes LOL!

How cute Sez 00000 my little one was lucky to even fit into the 0000 for the first two weeks L we are into the 000 already! My Isobella would look like a giant next to Nick; she weighed in at 4.9kg last Friday. It must seem so surreal that you haven’t even got to your EDD but you have your little man in your arms already!

Welcome Lis, sorry to hear that Elena has colic. I also second what Lulu said about elevating the cot/cradle to help. I actually have been trying to either carry Isobella in the sling or hold her upright for atleast 5-10minutes before letting her lay down and that has also helped along with having her elevated and not flat on her back.

Oh Tan I’m sorry to hear that you are having troubles with the feeding. I have to admit I have never heard of nipple thrush; but it doesn’t sound too good. How did you know what it was and how do you treat it?

Luckily her daddy took her from me and went upstairs so I could get some sleep but it left me feeling like a complete failure as a mother.

Lulu I had a bad night last night with Isobella she was irritable from 7pm and started howling at 10pm and was screaming until 12:30. I was getting to the point where I just didn’t know what to do anymore. I tried everything I could think of but she just would not stop howling for even a second even in my arms. DH kept coming in and saying things like “have you checked her nappy?” or “When was the last time you feed her?” It was getting me down but the one that got me bawling was when he walked into her room to see what was happening at about 11pm and I had just put her in her cradle to see if that would work (for the umpteenth time) and he looked at me and said “Are you just leaving her there to cry!” With that he made me feel such a failure because I could settle her and get her to go to sleep. Sounds like your Izzy is just exactly on the same routine as my Izzy with 1.5 hourly feeds and feeding anything from 15 minutes to 40 minutes and the upright for 10minutes with the nappy change on top of that. Except the howling has been happening the last two nights I just hope that this isn’t becoming part of the routine.

Ashlee I LOVE the photo of Blake in your ticker

Tess I hope I haven’t missed the opportunity to say Congratulations and I am so happy for you and your DH. You have to make sure that you keep us updated.

Danni that boobie juice you are producing must have some real kick to it! Way to go on the weight increase Mason!!

Kristen sounds like a few of us are having night time restless periods with our little one hopefully they all settle down soon!

Well the funeral is on today - I haven't gone after last night I wasn't up to it. And things haven't been going too well. I will have to fill you in on that later this has been a long enough post. And I have to go bath Isobella.

To anyone I missed a big Hello to you and hope that you and bubs are well

    Chat later xx

    Hello!

Sorry guys, no personals again, its so hard to keep up now that my time is so limited, and when I do have time, I'm so tired that I just can't work out who said what!!! Sorry and I really do admire those of you who are so good with the personals - hopefully I'll get there eventually.

Well, as for my dreaded right nipple, it's no better - it's still KILLING me and getting me down every time I have to feed from that side. I'm now convinced I have nipple thrush too - thanks for all the info Tan. I've done some research and Luke has got white spots on his tongue (I just thought it was the milk) and he's had a rash on his bum. All signs of thrush! Damn it. Anyway, after reading some other posts, I've just popped down to the chemist and got some Daktarin gel, so I'll start rubbing it into my nipple and giving it to Luke orally. I'm praying it's the solution I'm after and hope it works quickly!! Does anyone have any more information on nipple thrush they can share with me??? Its totally driving me mad.

Anyway, other than that, we're doing really well. We've been out shopping three times now and last night went to our friends house for dinner. Luke was very good, although there were a few screams at dinner!!! Now, I'm over at Mum's as Ryann is out for the afternoon and evening, so I'm having dinner over here, which is great!! It's nice to have someone else to look after Luke!!

Mel - I'm not sure about the mini pill, I've heard some bad stories about side affects from it, so I have no idea what we're going to do - would love to hear what everyone else is doing in that regards - I certainly don't want to be falling pg again just yet!!!

    Talk soon.

    Hello everyone,

Sorry I have been missing in action, everytime I try to get on here I manage to read and see how everyone is and then Julian starts crying and I don't get to post! Very frustrating!

    Let me introduce myself:
    My name: Janet
    Partner's name: Patrick
    Ages: I'm 28, Pat is 29
    Location: Sydney
    Baby's name: Julian Antonio
    Sex: Boy
First, second, third etc baby: First baby (first grandchild on my side, 4th for Pat's side)
    Birthday: 24th April 2007
    Time: 7:21pm
    Weight:6 pounds 11oz
    Length: 51cm
    Head Circumference: 34cm
Natural or C-Section: Vaginal birth with gas, episiotomy, forceps, 3rd degree tear
How many weeks gestation: 38 weeks

I'm looking forward to get to know the rest of the May mummies and a big hello to everyone else from the pregnancy thread

How long does the feed, burp, change nappy and settle cycle take you ladies at night? For me, it can take usually 1.5 hours, sometimes more. It seems like a long period of time and I wish he would go to sleep straight away but usually his eyes are wide open just staring up at me! How is everyone coping with getting things done? I feel hopeless! Some days I don't shower until 11am and I find it hard to eat when I'm supposed to. Then there is the endless washing and ironing. All with sleep deprivation! When do you think we will start to feel like we are coping or have some sort of normality? Maybe some of you are already feeling like you are coping and it's just me!

I have mild mastitis at the moment which has been really difficult for us. I have been feeling ill from it and everything seemed like a mountain to climb.Today I am feeling abit better. I am on antibiotics but my breast is still sore and it hasn't cleared up. I can still feel the lumps. I don't know if something I did caused it or if it were just going to happen anyway. Julian hasn't been affected by it yet thankfully, so I hope it stays that way. I can definitely relate to those having nipple thrush or painful nipples. I hope it clears up for you.

Tess, I am so happy for you. In January you will be holding your precious baby. Please keep in touch, I'd love to hear how you are going.

I will have to try personals another day as I have alot to catch up on. Talk to you soon and I hope you get some more sleep!

    Hi everyone!

OMG a secong thread already! Ok don't have time to read back through the last one sorry, he he what a bunch of chatterboxes, I love it lol!

mmm's first - I have elevated Elena's bassinette and hoping that it helps with her colic. We'll see how it goes. I've been trying to elevate her after feeds too. I don't have a sling but I might look into getting one, then at least I may be able to get some things done if she is unsettled!

Kelly sorry about your sore nipples. Mine are also sore but I think its due to attachment issues, Elena sometimes doesn't open her mouth wide enough and likes to just take the end of my nipple. Ouch!!

Mel I've also heard that the mini pill can have some side effects. Gosh I haven't even thought about contraception yet, ha ha DTD is the last thing on my mind. Besides I had an episiotomy so not allowed to for a few more weeks yet!

Janet yes it usually takes me between 1-1.5hrs to feed/change/settle and sometimes longer so don't worry you are not alone. I also feel hopeless with getting things done around the house. My lovely mum came over today and did my washing and vacuuming, I was so thankful lol! He he and I was still unshowered and in my pyjamas at 1pm!

I went to my first visit with the maternal/child nurse today and Elena is doing great, she put on 400g. Then I went to my first session of mothers group and it was so great to meet other mums with similar age babies and compare notes! It's nice to know I"m not the only sleep deprived mummy!

Better go I can hear Elena crying, her colic starts to get worse about this time of night poor little bub.

    Another quick one here too!
First big day trip to see Izzy's great grandfather today - what a mission - he lives about 40 minutes from us so I fed beofre we left, she slept in the car, by the time we got there she was hungry again so i fed her again and we came home!! Shouldnt complain it was still great to get out of this house.

Kelly - my nipple is getting better slowly - Im not using the shield any more although am still in quite a bit of pain, but she seems to get so confused with it when she goes to the non-shield booby.
I might try the Daktarin on her too - we have been using Nilstad for her but she had a MASSIVE vomit today just after i gave her the smallest amount. I sat and just caught all this mucousy vomit while bawling my eyes out - it scared the crap out of me and Al...poor little thing.
I so feel for all you mummies who have had this all the time - this was our first big vomit and one of very few i hope.

Sez - i actually lived in east ringwood til i was 11 and then in a house kind of behind Croydon high and primary school! I went to croydon high until year 10 and then Luther college.

Hi to all you other gorgeous mummies and bubs - hope you all have a great night.

I have my first visit with the MCHN tomorrow - hope to get some info about mothers group etc.
Al goes back to work on Monday - Im terrified of doing this all alone - how are you all coping!???

Well - better go - my gf has just turned up with dinner- Al has cooked once since we got home last wednesday!
Talk soon and apologies for the lack of personals.

If you could all see Noah now, his eyes are full of milk and he is looking up at me, it is so sweet. A face only a mother could love

Tan - Congrats on your first big outing!! It is funny you don't see it as big pre-baby but it is a huge milestone post-baby.

lis - It is hard to keep up in here at the best of times eh? I thought with bubs we might quiet down a bit... Did Elena settle better for you last night?

Jan - I have never thought of timing the schedual, I guess a feed is about 30 min, burping if I remember is 5 nappy change about 2 min and settle.....As we are co sleeping he settles right away but we have put the cot as a side car to the bed to try and very slowly get him out of the habit, it went really well until I fell asleep with him in the bed while he was on the boob

Kelly - Isn't it always the way that babies will scream at dinner, I have not had a dinner yet that I can sit down and eat without a baby attached to the breast, I hope that changes tonight because we are going to a restaurant..

Mel - Things are going very slowly in regards to Noah's foot but I am trying not to stress too much about it, specialists are always very busy I guess. I just read yesterday about baths being 'playtime' for babies, it would make sense that it would leave Isobella unsettled, I might try a daytime one today myself. No mini pill here now after hearing some of the girls saying side effects.. I don't mind conceiving soonish anyway, after I get the go ahead from my Dr after the c/s.

Sez - I know what you mean with people thinking OTT, Juz says I am out of control. If you think you need an ambulance then call one I say. I had one giant latte and a shopping trip, that ended up perking me up, nothing like spending money to cheer a girl up.

So as I said before about breast milk in both of Noah's eyes, he now has sticky eye in both, my poor little crusty eyed man One thing I really notice about Noah is he seems to really struggle to pass gas out the bottom end. He grunts and pushes and squirms and then after 10 min or longer you hear a tiny fluff. Anyone else having this issue or know what it could be? He is not constipated but his bowel movements have become very tiny. Well the lappy battery is about to conk and I need brekkie in a bad way. Will pop on later!

Lovely day yesterday, but baaaaaad night! I am so tired! I think he might be going through a growth spurt or something, I feel like he is attached to my boobs alot of the time ! Oh well, he seems settled enough now.

Better go and get in the shower!

    Hey there!

I feel like people must groan in here when someone else joins this huge group LOL! It must take a long time to get through personals. I wanted to jump in, but don't know if I'll have time to post much especially due to the amount of girls in here, I'm still used to our rather small bellybuddies group. It's a sad day too as the May 16-31st belly buddies group has been locked for good and we are still waiting to hear on one person - Babushka Doll about her baby. Has anyone from that group heard anything about her? I know some people in here that I shared my pregnancy with, and Hi to the many others I dont know that also had bubs in May. I'll do my stat thingies to start and I hope to keep in contact in here as best I can.

    Lis, Ashlee

    My name: Tara

    Partner Name: DP

    Ages: Me 27, him 25

    Location: NSW

    Baby's name: Leon Joseph

    Sex: Boy

First, second, third etc baby: My third baby, DP's first baby

    Birthday: 25th May 2007

    Time: 12:35pm

    Weight: 9lb 1oz

    Length: 52cm

    Head Circumference: 35cm

Natural or C-Section: Vaginal birth, 14 hour labour, posterior, used gas, ARM after 13 hours, moderate shoulder dystocia (shoulders got wedged stuck on spine and pubic bone after babies head was born), 3 manouvers used for extraction, baby needed resussitating.

How many weeks gestation: 41 weeks and 1 day (went into labour on EDD!!)

Other baby related things - I'm BFing and sucessful with that so far, I'm using disposable nappies and at the moment will be sticking with that, I am demand feeding, baby sleeps in a crib next to my bed. I am planning on being a SAHM till Leo is in school as I did with my other children, although I do have business interests I pursue at home with our company so Iam very fortunate that way. Leo has a tongue-tie which will need to get fixed which affects his feeding if he is tired but thank God no other problems, just sore shoulders poor boy!

    Pleased to meet you all!

Hey Tara - dont worry about how many of us there are here! We will all get used to it quickly I guess and there are more to come!! I know what you mean about the belly buddies group being locked - I was nearly in tears when that happened coz I was the last one left - and now here we are!!

Well after being unsettled from about 730-1030 last night, Isabelle finally fell asleep til 230!! Whoo hoo and then from 3ish til 730 - 2 four hour blocks were bliss and i feel human today! Poor DH is pacing with her as we speak though - so not sure what today will bring!

Hope all you mummies are doing well and will try to jump on again later on today!

I remember that Tan, I really felt for you. Yep, there are a few more to come so I guess we'll all manage here, though I'm sure no one is going to be upset if personals can't be done, we are all busy mummas now . Congrats on getting a few good blocks of sleep last night, 4 hours is awesome! your daughter is just adorable too BTW.

Yay Ash, thanks so much for posting that in here. *sniff* no more May babies left.

Just a quickie.........(the only sort that's happening around here PMSL!)

Sarah, that's fantastic news, you must be so relieved!

Janet, just wanted to let you know that our feed cycle takes at least 1.5 hours too. I know it's frustrating, but I'm sure it will get better soon. I actually quite like it during the day, it's just so hard to stay awake at night. Hang in there hun, it will get easier! Hope the mastitis clears up really soon for you.

Mum took us out to the shops today, we had such a nice time, and Nicholas slept the whole time! Let's just hope he does it tonight too.......

Big hi to everyone else, better go and cook dinner! Love Sez xoxo
