Have spent the last 2 days out and have to say I am exhausted!!
Danni, I hope Mason is feeling better the poor bubba. Nothing worse than watching them in pain, hopefully his antibiotics have kicked in by now!
Kelly, I found when I tried to dream feed Angus it just made him worse! He would start waking 3 hours from then for a feed! So I have just let him be and every week he seems to sleep a bit better and a bit longer, so hopefully he will sleep through soon! Hope your Mum is better.
Lulu, no I am not back at work yet. I did take 12 months off, but prob will think about going back a few days a fortnight in the next few months (maybe!!).
Sarah, how is the rice cereal going? Noah sounds like he is growing fast! Angus is 5.96kg and he is 11.5 weeks. But he has only put on 300gms in 3 weeks? The nurse didn't seem worried but I spose he is a big boy anyway and is maybe having a slow growth period!!
Dan, nursing is good that is adaptable hey. I work for QLD Health in our public hosp, so can basically pick and choose what I want to work when I go back beacuse they have to be "family friendly". Have thought about doing my midwifery, what was you course like?
Jan, I hope you are feeling better. I think exercise would be good for me too, just to get out of the house and get some fresh air has to be good!!
Hello to everyone else~!! Angus just woke up and is trying to help me type!
I had the worst day today! Was shopping in target and one of the front wheels of my pram fell off while I was pushing Angus in it!! was scary! Anyway I rang childcare and they are sending me a new wheel, but after doing some research on google, seems this is a common prob for the pram I have. Not sure if I want to trust it even with the new wheel. What do you think?? What pram do all you guys have - are they good?? Think I might look around and just get another one?? DH will spew though cause this is a brand new pram! Anyway, wriggle worm is getting cranky on my lap!
Tan, I'm hearing ya about computers!! My brand new laptop s*&t itself also! This comp isn't much better, was a cheapie I brought for the kids to play - but now I have to use it!! Technology sux hey!!
Well finally I have a chance to catch up on my personals that I lost the other day!
Michelle- OMG at the wheel on your pram!! I would be so p!ssed off.. you pay a lot of money for these prams and that’s really dangerous! We originally had the 4 wheel Steelcraft transaction – had problems with the wheel lifting up and down too and the handle was kinda wobbly, so now we have the strider 3 – we love it – I like being able to see Izzy in it-as she can face me while in it. No complaints so far. Hope you have caught up on some rest too after your busy days.
Sarah – go Noah!! What a little champ hey! Glad the rice cereal is working for you – and mmmm for chocolate cake! I made a chocolate self saucing pudding that was terrible at a friends place last night (packet mix– serves me right!) I think you are right about the growth spurt too – more on that in a bit! How is Noahs foot going hun?? How is your internet rule going?
Kelly –Sorry to hear about your mums DVT....How is she going?? I’m glad they found it early and are able to treat it. How’s Luke going? Sleeping any better for you? Whenever I’ve given Izzy a dream feed or if we have been out and I feed her later in the evening when we get home she sleeps worse than if I let her go. She used to go to bed at 615ish – no I stretch her out because Al gets home at that time, so I take her for a walk in the pram in the afternoon so she will get a nap in before he gets home and I can keep her up until 7, she then sleeps though til 5-6 most nights. Sometimes she will still get up after around 6 hours though. Anyway I hope you can work something out – and you are right – their cheeky grin and gummy smile makes it all worthwhile hey!
Jan – thanks so much for the advice! I have been putting water into the heating recesses too since your post because the house is really dry and it’s a good way to rehydrate the air – a few of our main ducts have a spot you can just tip water into. More on the poo in a sec!! Hope you are doing well, glad you are doing some things to help you feel better – gym sounds great, I really want to get back into some more high intensity exercise other than walking.
Danni – hope Mason is feeling better :hugs: Its so hard to see these little ones upset or in pain isn’t it. I’m glad your trip to WA went well, I wanna see pics – have you guys got any?
Dan- Has Olivia settled down a bit since your post? Seems like a bit of unsettled time for lots of babies at the moment. How exciting about the baptism and BBQ – I’m sure it will all go really well and you will be happy and exhausted by the end of the weekend
Can’t wait to see some pics and I love your new ticker pic BTW – its adorable!! Glad to hear she got a clean bill of health too – whoo hoo!!
Lulu- your meet up sounds like it was great – pics please! I haven’t seen the movie you were talking about – in fact I can’t remember the last movie I saw at all – I know I was pg at the time!
All other ladies and bubs  hope you all doing super well and big hugs to you all!
Well I think Izzy wasn’t constipated as much as just backed up IYKWIM!! She only did one poo for two days – and I know its normal for b’fed babies and they can go longer but when shes gone from 3 a day to only one that’s a big shift. So anyway she did 5 HUGE poos yesterday – so I think it was all just a little slow in there for her after our trip and it has all come out now!! She still makes weird straining noises at times but its not like she does it when she poos so not sure what that is all about!
Izzy has been sleeping ok since we got back from Bright – Ive been working hard to make sure she gets back into some sort of routine – especially so Al can spend time with her in the evenings. Not sure who was asking but Al 's new job is working in construction for Docklands Studios on the new Band of Brothers TV series by Spielberg and Hanks! Pretty exciting – so that’s why he gets home a bit later than he used to and I’ve shifted Izzy's sleep time to 7 – cant wait til daylight savings when it should go to 8! Whoo hoo!
Going to get Pixi photos done tomorrow – yay and Im pretty tired now so gonna cruise forums for a bit before bed!
Catch you all soon! xoxo
Hi ladies,
It's been quiet in here which is good cause I don't have many personals to catch up with.
Michelle - The way that I have done my midwifery course is to be employed by a maternity ward and work 8 shifts a fortnight and study by correspondence. The program/course takes 12 months. Well it's meant to except if you are like me and end up with a surprise bundle. LOL. The study load is hard but it is the best thing I have ever done. I absolutely love it. It is most definetely worth looking into if you are intested. The one down side is it does cost a bit of money. How is your little man going?
Tan - YAY on Izzy pooing. It worries you when they don't poo. They look so uncomfortable. The reason we don't have to worry about our baby's getting constipated is because our breast milk has a natural laxative in it. Aren't our boobies clever? Olivia is so funny when she poos. She goes bright red and grunts while she is going and she lets out a sigh when she's finished. It's so wrong but so cute. Good to hear that she is settling back into her sleeping routine. She properly just loves the sounds she can make. They are such cute sounds.
Hi to all the other mums who I have missed. Will catch up properly soon, I promise. Can't wait to show you the photos of Olivia in her christening gown. She looks just gorgeous.
Olivia must be having a massie growth spurt because she is feeding every 1 1/2 to 2 since yesterday morning. OH MY GOD I'm so tired. I can't believe I was doing this every night. I'm back to having sleeps during the day. I'm off to the MCHN tomorrow. Going to be interesting to see what she is weighing at the moment. Apart from that nothing exciting has been going on here. Tomorrow is the start of our crazy weekend. We, well I have to, clean this place tomorrow because Saturday is a day of cooking and people arriving that afternoon.
Well I'm off to bed. Fingers crossed Olivia sleeps for bigger blocks now that she should be on the finishing end of this growth spurt.
Sleep well mums and bubs,
Dan.

Dan - OMG at Olivia's growth spurt!! Luke doesn't ever seem to have them - he's very much a regular feeder - every 3 to 4 hours!! He's big enough, so I'm not too concerned, it's just weird!!! I don't know that I could handle feeding him every 2 hours anyway, not with his feeding issues!!! Maybe that's why, he knows feeding is a nightmare and holds out as long as he can!!
Tan - Yeah, Mum scared the cr*p our of us, thats for sure!! She seems to be improving, although wasn't feeling too good again today, so I hope all is ok. Her leg is certainly improving though. Its so scary! Sounds like you've got the best routine happening there - I'm so jealous but we're getting there. Good luck with the photos - let us know how you go!
Michelle - OMG, I can't believe your pram delema - what a shock!! I wouldn't be too happy about that!! Have you had any progress?? We've got the Steelcraft Transition (I think that's what its called - its the three wheeler) and it's great. I really like it and haven't had any dramas so far. It just doesn't fold down much, so is quite bulky but it's light!!
Sarah - Yum, mud cake!!! How is the new internet rule going?? Have you given Noah any more rice cereal??
Jan - So glad to hear you're starting to feel a bit better. I really need to join a gym or something too, I think it makes all the difference!!
Danni - Hows Mason going?? I'm still annoyed I couldn't make the catch up - you'll just have to come back over again one day
Lulu - Did you end up going to the movie?? Some of the girls from my MG went today but I had to take Luke back to the paed, so I couldn't make it!
Big hello's to everyone else!!
Well, Luke had a pretty good night last night, thank god. We ended up staying at Mums as DH is away and Mum was loving spending some time with Luke - it really helped take her mind off the DVT and made her feel a lot better!! And it was great to have some company. So I think Mum totally wore him out. He went down at about 7.30pm after a good feed and woke at 10.30pm - so I thought it was going to be another crappy night. Thankfully, he went back down without making a noise and slept until 4am!! Then he went down again without a fuss and slept until 7.15am!! So, I'm happy with that. Would of been nice to have missed the 10.30am feed but hay, can't complain.
He had a good day today too and is now asleep but we have to go pick DH up from the airport at 10.55pm. Damn flight was delayed by an hour and a half, not happy!!! Its going to completely mess up Luke's sleep but not to worry, I like picking DH up from the airport!! AND, hopefully I can give Luke a good feed when we get home and he might sleep until morning!!! We can only hope!!
As for the visit to the paed - nothing much eventuated. He's a bit confused by Luke's symptoms. Definitely has reflux but it's more than that. He thinks my let down is affecting Luke more than anything and that it's just a bit of colic, so he should grow out of it soon. We've had some good days this week, so I'm feeling much better. Its just annoying not knowing the problem when he does start screaming!! So, he's doing a few tests to rule out other possibilities and we'll go from there.
Wow, what a long post - better let you all get back to your lives!!!
hey guys...we are back to the docs again today as test results are back and there seems to be another prob
Kelly: I will never flyu with a baby again. I am so shattered. We have to cancel our flights to visit Ashlee which were 3 weeks away. I cant risk ever seeing him in so much pain ever again. Im sorry babe...you will have to visit us here!
dan: cant wait to see olivias weight gain. Hope she eases with the feeds. Mason is back to 3 hourly over night but i think its cos he is sick?
Awww Danni, you poor thing, I totally understand why you wouldn't take Mason in a plane again, I wouldn't take Noah in a plane if that happened to him. Hopefully Ashlee will understand..If Ashlee does come down we should do another Melb meet up since I missed the last one. Anyway, hopefully the Dr appt goes well for you and you can sort poor Mason out.
Kelly, the internet rule did work until Wed night, he didn't want to watch The Simple Life and Americas Next Top Model, don't blame him really so I let him slide. I have added some Apple Custard to the list of what Noah is eating but he only really gets solids once every 2 days, he seems to like the custard best, it is a bit sweeter than the rice cereal. He ate half a jar in one sitting and still wanted a breastfeed after I hope Luke slept until morning for you!
Dan, don't wear yourself out too much this weekend! Can't wait to see the photos!
Tan, Noahs foot is going well, we went to Melb yesterday and we don't go back for 2 months now, it's funny because Noah is meant to be in boots more often than he is and they still see progress so Juz and I agreed to keep up with what we are doing. Let us know how Izzys photos go!
I have to run Noah is fussing bad, I think he is tired and I really need to join him for a nap after yesterdays trip, I think I have a blocked duct too :S I hope it doesn't lead to mastitis. Talk to you all soon!!!
Danni, I hope Mason is Ok, and everything went well at the Dr's. Poor little bubba, nothing worse than being sick
Sara, hope you can clear that duct, or hopefully Noah can!!!
Anyway, just a quick hello, I really should think about getting something organised for dinner. We got pizza last night, so I better make an effort tonight.
Hi everyone. Not got too much time so can't do lots of personals but glad to hear everyone except poor little Mason is doing well.
Kelly - so glad to hear you're having some better days. Hopefully the further tests will show what the other problem is so you can get it all sorted. I hope you, Luke and your DH are out enjoying this beautiful day today - you wouldn't live anywhere else would you!!
I'm off to do a bit of shopping now while DH is at golf and then we're heading out for a picnic. Can't wait. Izzy has been really good - sleeping well and we've had the last 6 nights before last night with her sleeping from about 7pm until about 7am. OMG it is bliss! She had a 4.30 am wake this morning which turned into a huge drama because she had wet through her clothes, sleeping bag and bedding so poor DH was trying to change it all with Izzy on his shoulder so he didn't wake me. Sweetie that he is, but it wasn't going well!!
We did get to the movie - it was very very cool. Love Die Hard movies.
What are you girls all doing with your bubbies now that they're starting to look like rolling? Izzy is starting to get herself up onto one side but can't quite get herself over but it will be no time at all before she does. She is still wrapped a lot of the time for night sleeps and in a gro bag and I'm worried that if she does manage to roll over in her cot she's going to end up suffocating herself.
Quick one here - another crazy busy weekend! Al's birthday today (and our 10 years together anniversary!!) - out for dinner last night, people over tonight, wineries for lunch tomorrow, dinner out 3 nights next week - pheew!
Pixi photos were soooo cute but decided to do a big order when she is 6 mths and sitting upright and we might get some family shots too! They put a huge pink tutu on her and it looks gorgeous! Have scanned a copy of the plain paper copy we got and uploaded to her August pics - be warned they are REALLY blurry!
Lulu - I havent even thought about her rolling in bed but Izzy is in a grobag and then we tuck her 2or 3 blankets in over her really tightly so I dont think she could roll at the moment even if she tried - not sure what we will do later on though! Good question!
Hope you are all well and will catch up more soon!
Michelle in response to your question about prams, I have the Steelcraft Enigma 4 wheeler but I am saving up for a Valco 3 wheeler now, not sure what style name though, I wish I had gotten that one in the first place because my pram is so hard to push and you can't even get a toddler seat for it.
Well we are going good here, Juz and I were flicking through the channels the other day and came across the world poker championships and now I am hooked on it. I found this free poker software where you play so you can learn and practice. Now I am not getting my website built :S I am glad it is a free one or I might be in trouble because I am no good at it hehehe. I had a sleep in today, Juz took Noah while I was able to catch up on all that missed sleep from the last 3 months. I slept until 2:45pm can you believe that? Now I have a pile of things to do so I better get on to them...Hope everyone is well!!
Hi ladies and gorgeous babies,
Well I am completely exhausted. We had Olivia's baptism ceremony followed by a BBQ at our house today. The ceremony was fantastic and I teared up when she was blessed. I managed to compose myself so I didn't break down in tears. Olivia looked absolutely gorgeous in her dress and cardigan (I'll get some photos as soon as I can) and she was so well behaved the entire time. She did cry when the water was poured over her head but only for a little bit. She sat up in her daddy's arms and smiled and yawned at everyone. It was perfect.
The BBQ was fantastic and we have SSSSSSOOOOOOO much food left over we are going to be eating it for days. It was great to catch up with everyone (although I really didn't get to sit down). And once again she was spoilt rotten with heaps of pressies.
Tan - How was dinner? And a huge congratulations on yours and Al's 10th anniversary. Is it 10 years since you started dating or have you been married for 10 years? How's your gorgeous little girl going?
Sarah - How awesome that you got to have a massive sleep in. It makes all the difference and you actually feel human again. I'm going to bed extremely early tonight, actually I could go right now no problems.
Kelly - How your mum is doing well and that Luke's medication is starting to work and easing his uncomfortabliness.
Michelle - About prams. I have the BeemaQ Elite which is an awesome pram that I love. I only wish that I could have Olivia facing me not away and it is like many 3 wheelers and doesn't fold down very compact. Apart from that I can't really fault it. Plus it's bright red. I love that.
To everyone else, We hope you are having an amazing weekend and that your little one is being a joy to be around.
I'm off to have a rest on the couch until Olivia wakes up for her next feed which my bb's are telling me is majorily overdue. Our poor little girl is completely exhausted after her big day.
Catch up tomorrow,
Luv Dan.

My negative pregnancy test is in fact a positive!!!!!!!!! Took another test this afternoon because I just felt strange and OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG. I'm still in total shock at the thought of having 12 months or less between my babies. I have no real idea how pregnant I am but would guess about 5 weeks? I'll have to go and get a dating scan done . . .
OMG!!!! Congratulations Lulu!! Thats is fantastic news! I know you must be in shock but how wonderful that Izzy will have a sibling so close in age! Dont ditch us either now that you will have another belly buddies group!! Hee Hee!! Cant wait to go through the pg journey with you again hun!
