I'm in shock (can't imagine how you're feeling)!!! It is great that you're two little bundles will be so close in age but I must say, I'd be petrified!!!! Can't wait to hear your due date and all that!! Oh man, another baby for this group already - are our little ones really getting that old??? Its a bit surreal!!
Lulu - it is completely understandable that you think through things! You are not going nuts -and I hope things go well so that you can ejoy your time iwth Izzy and your preganancy too!!
Kelly - hope the chiro can click you back into place and make you feel better!!
Dan - It was our *going out* 10 years and Al's birthday too -we dont actually celebrate it because we have been married for 4 years - but as it was a milestone we thought it was pretty spesh!!
Sarah - how is the poker going!!?? Hee hee!
Danni - hows the b'fing going hun? I read your post babe and hope you are ok. Remember no matter what that YOU are the person who is in the best place to decide what is best for Mason - plus Im breastfeeding and Izzy sleeps for 11 hours most nights so poo poo to people who say breastfed babies dont sleep for long - its simply not true in all cases
Everyone else - big to you all - hope you are all grand!!
We are doing well, Al and Izzy have a cold so Im thinking its a matter of time before I get it. Izzy had a slight fever today and a drippy nose so I gave her a dose of panadol and its come right down. Shes feeding and sleeping ok thank goodness. I went to the chemist and bought a thermometer that you stick in the ear - great investment I think - I checked her before and she didnt even stir.
Im so tired at the moment - not sure why, am sleeping really well and am only getting up at around 5ish each morning for a feed so it could be that Im just feeling a bit run down and blah.
Also thinking about doing some study again while Im home and can. Am thinking, Masters of Education (probably not!!) Welfare (maybe) librararianship (cant even spell it so maybe not!).Mmmm will see how I go!
Well Im going to have an early night tonight and still have nappy covers to buy! Im sick to death of Izzy's poo leaking out of her disposable nappies in the car so am going to buy a few covers for her so that if we are going out and are going to be spending lots of time in the car Im going to use covers.
Lulu - I know it feels daunting at the moment but it will all work out. You are giving Izzy the best gift of all, a beautiful sibling to play with! As for your new bubba, they will be blessed to have you as a mum. All the other stuff will get sorted out in time. I think that things are often meant to be and this is your path. I've often thought about the pros and cons of having kids close toegther or far apart. There are many major pluses and minuses for both. Let us know how you are going and try not to stress to much
Tan - sorry to hear they are both unwell. Its hard looking after a sick bubba and its awful seeing them upset. I hope they get better soon.
Julian was a lot of fun today. He babbled and laughed so much and entertained me for ages. I managed to cook a minestrone soup and do the bath/bed routine all without much stress. I love days like this but know you never know what tomorrow will bring!
Thanks everyone. I'm still in shock and feeling a little strange about it all. I slept very badly last night - lots of thoughts going through my head. The best one that took about 40 minutes to solve was which baby to put in the more "dangerous" seat in the car - the left hand rear one. I started telling myself I couldn't possibly risk my beautiful little Izzy by putting her there, but then felt awful that I could think for a second it was ok to "risk" that new baby there! So, yep. Going completely nuts!! My biggest concerns I guess are how I will look after Izzy if I have another bad pregnancy, and then how on earth am I going to cope with two babies under 12 months? Oh well. I guess people do so we'll be fine. All just a bit daunting though.
Lulu, you are not going nuts!! I remember before the birth of my 2nd and 3rd, I was in tears in fear of not being able to love them as much as the one before IYKWIM!! But trust me it all falls into place! I too had really bad pregnancies so I can understand that fear also! Will be an exciting 9 mths for you, watching Izzy grow up and growing another beautiful bub also! Take care, and don't stress!!!
Oh Lulu, I can't imagine what's going through you mind. You're certainly not going nuts, it actually sounds like you're coping with the news much better than you think!!! I'm very impressed!!! It certainly will be a very exciting year for you. Try not to stress, as Michelle said, it will all fall into place. I still can't believe it though!!! I had to have an X-Ray today (will explain below) and they said "you're not pregnant again are you" - I just laughed and and said "no way, well I hope not anyway" - then I thought of you and realised it wasn't such a silly question afterall!!!!
Well, I took Luke back to the Chiro today and he was really happy with the progress. I haven't noticed any major changes in him yet though, so we'll see what happens. I also had a check up and my god - I'm a mess!!! Yep, so that's what the X-Ray was for. My back and neck are all out of whack, so there's a lot to be done. It was quite painfull actually but a good pain, IYKWIM??
Luke is still waking twice at night too - last night he woke at 12.30pm and again at 4.30am, then 7.15am!! I'm still praying we can get a decent nights sleep one of these days but I can't complain as he's now going back down without a fuss again!! Thank god.
The feeding is no better though - he's screaming quite a lot again but we have taken him off the Zantac, so we might have to start that up again. I just wanted to see if it really was making a difference - it's so hard to know. I think I'll try and put up with it for a few more days just to make sure.
Tan - I hope Izzy and your DH are over their colds and you managed to miss it. Have you given any more thought to further study? I think its a great idea to do something else - it will give you an interest that's just for you, rather than a mummy thing. Are you planning on going back to work?
Kelly - I hope the chiro can sort you out. I guess its pregnancy and birth that throws our bodies so far out of whack. Hopefully longer night sleeps for Luke are just around the corner too. It makes such a huge difference to how you feel when you can get down to even just one feed during the night.
Jan - so glad to hear you had such a fun day with Julian. Its days like that that make the sleepless nights and dark times worth while isn't it.
Danni - I hope you're feeling a bit happier with all the feeding and Mason is sleeping a bit more at night for you.
Well, Izzy must be going through a growth spurt. She's eating huge amounts and is a bit grizzling and very tired. She's usually awake for only an hour or so before she gets grumpy and is having lots of cat naps. She's also really sooky and wants her mummy when she's upset. It was lovely yesterday afternoon when she fell asleep on me for a couple of hours while I was lying on the couch - I managed to get a nap in too. I'd forgotten how tired you get in those first few weeks of pregnancy!! I've got a dating scan booked for a couple of weeks - can't wait to find out how long this little one has been hiding in there!!
Jan - arent the babbles and giggles just adorable! I was talking to mum and she was saying enjoy every day because these little ones will do something new every day that will never come back - *sniff sniff* not newborns anymore.... Thanks for the well wishes, Al is getting better and Izzy seemed to have fought hers off as her temp has stayed below 38 - a little raised but nothing dramatic thank goodness. Im hoping in a way that I get it so my immunity builds up and she wont get it at all- but somehow it looks like we both have missed it!
Hope you are doing well and have had another good day!
Hey Lulu! Dating scan - how exciting!! Does it seem real yet? I think Im still in shock but so excited for you!
With Al's new job - we are a bit unsure whats happening next year - he is on a contract til December (to get out of paying him for 3 weeks stand down over Christmas - gotta love workplace reform) so we need to see if it will be renewed for next year - we are about 99% sure it will - but you never know! Provided he is still there -Im planning on doing emergency teaching up to 2 days a week. Just this week I have decided that I dont want to go back part time- I dont want to have to write reports, go to meetings, do planning etc. With CRT I can turn up at 845 and leave at 345 and get paid great money. Downside is the irregularity but if Al is still at Docklands we can wing it!
So now to decide what to study - am thinking teacher librarian or welfare - still looking into my options. A Masters is around 10k -not that keen on that now!! Ha ha!
Ooh Im so excited too - we are starting swimming lessons in October!(Wish it was sooner) I found a place that doesnt just do familiarisation but actual lessons based on developmental stages with the aim that the bubs can swim by 18months old! I think its so important - we have a pool and spend lots of time by the beach too! Im going to start bathing her in the big deep bath to get her used to water too and also going to start going to the pool so she is used to the water before the lessons start!
Also had our MCHN apppointment this week- growing beautifully!! 5990 grams! (One feed off 6kgs!!) and 59.6 cms!
Ok gotta go do stuff! A few new pics online - there is a funny one of AL reading to Izzy and it looks like she is reading the book too!!
Hey girls! I've been moving house and just got my net back on, hooray!!!
CONGRATULATIONS LULU wow you're such a brave woman, but as you say, people have done and it you will be no exception Any word on a scan/due date as of yet?!
Since the move, Blake has been unsettled at night - waking for a dummy at 1am and 2am then a feed at 3-4am. Luckily last night he dropped the dummy waking and slept till 4. I was soooo used to him sleeping from 8-5, that waking up 3 times a night really took it's toll on me. I look back and remember when he was fed every 3 hours and it took an hour each time to feed, and thank my lucky stars it's not that bad lol!
He rolled over twice last thursday at 16 weeks 5 days, I'm so proud of my little man! He is blowing bubbles, and playing and pulling at toys with both hands. He has changed so so much in the last 2 weeks, such a big boy now!
I've added a few pics of him on my website that we got done on 9 August - tooooo cute for words, drop by and check them out.
Hope to catch up (again) from here on in. Awww I missed ya's
Ashlee - Great to hear from you again and hope the move went well. The new pics of Blake are just gorgeous!!! I'm so jealous that he's sleeping so well - we still haven't had a really decent nights sleep!!!!
Tan - OMG, I just love the videos that you have up on your website!!!! They're sooo cute. I've got some great one's of Luke lately too!!! You sound just like me when you're talking to Izzy (I'm sure we're all the same though) - with the comments to her "Is that right" and "What else?" So funny!!!
Lulu - Can't wait to find out when you're due!!! Yeah, I'd be in heaven if we could get Luke down to one night feed - its getting really frustrating hearing that everyone's bubs are sleeping so well, I don't know what we're doing but he just won't have a bar of it!! Maybe he'll surprise us one of these days!!
Jan - Isn't it great hearing our bubs 'talk' away and laugh!! I just love it, its the best feeling!!!
Bugger, Luke has just woken again and is now on my lap, so I must get going!! He's had about three little naps today, each of them lasting a massive 20 mintues!!!! He just won't sleep, the little monkey!! Yesterday, we got a two hour sleep out of him and then today, nothing!!! Its so frustrating. I'd be ok with it if he was sleeping through the night, but I'm still up twice.
The feeding is sooo up and down still. One feed he'll be fine and I'll think that finally it all might be ok, then the next feed he's SCREAMING again!! It's so frustrating and even the paed is confused. The chiro has been really good but I haven't noticed any changes in him at home. I'm getting some treatment from him too though and god do I need it - my back is killing me.
Anyway must go, Luke is getting far too wriggly and whingy!!!
A quick one here- Kelly I hear you!! My back is KILLING me today and most days are pretty bad too. I still have a massage voucher from my 30th over a year ago so I think I will get mum to come with me so I can go get it done!
Ash -great to hear from you hun!! Hope you arent too tired after moving and Blake has settled in ok!
Had our last MG at the centre today - we will be meeting at a playcentre at a shopping centre that has a babies area and cafe as of next week, our group is really big so cant really meet at someones house.
Ive put 3 videos up now (excuse the daggy pj's in one!) but lots of giggles and chats! So funny! I was telling someone today how I will make the most ridiculous noises and dances just to get a smile and giggle from my girl! Looking at the video I realised how silly the sounds I make are!! Ah well - she loves it so thats all that matters!!
Gonna go have a bath now!
Kel-Argh I wish I classed that as good sleep - I'm such an idiot lol I really rely on my sleep too much.
Tan-We moved on the weekend of the 11th, so had a little adjusting time but not enough for my little pudda. Those videos of Izzy make me a bit jealous, Blake isn't giggly yet. He has 2 times but nothing major like that. We have to jiggle him till his head nearly falls off to get that, but he is very smiley and loves to grab his toys with both hands and is strong enough to pull his playgym close enough to get them in his mouth!
We're off to the Ellen Barron centre next week - a centre for mum's not coping and difficult babies. Blake isn't a "difficult" baby anymore but just learning a proper routine and self settling techniques will be great. It's a Monday-Friday stay so I'll probably be MIA again! I can't wait, the best thing for bubbys is routine and this will give me the skills I need to achieve that!!! Woooot!
Just a quick selfish post from me - sorry! We are all going well, have just been so busy I wish we could have at least a whole week with nothing on to stay at home and do nothing!!! I have spent the last 3 hours designing and trying to make baby shower invites for my friend. Computers must hate me cause I'm sure it should be easier than this! I have made 1 invite!! Anyway, I will get there eventually!
Also, does any of you guys use cloth nappies?? I know Tan you said you were getting covers for your disposables. I brought a few cloth all in ones and shaped ones to try. They look good, but not sure if I could trust them other than around the house iykwim. Have only ever used disposables, but have been weighing up the cost of disposables and then the cost of cloth.
Anyway, Angus is waking up for his midnight snack!
Hello everyone!
Am i allowed to join this thread?? Lol, or is it too late? My bub was born May 21 2007, so i love reading what other bubs the same age are up to.
My name's Stephanea and DS is Khai.
Hope to hear from y'all
Sorry I have been a little MIA girls, I have been reading, just really working towards getting my website up and running, it is a mess!!!
Stephanea - You are more than welcome to join our group! Glad you found us! It is great to be able to relate to other mums about your baby. I love the name Khai, does it have a meaning?
Ashlee - I love the new pics of Blake! They are adorable!
Michelle - If you need a hand designing the invites feel free to email me, or add me to msn and I can help you put one together if you like! I only use disposable nappies but some mums in mothers group use the washable ones at home only and it works great for them!
Oh god, I just had a poo explosion, better give the little man a bath... EWW!!!! Will try to catch up on more personals later!!!
