Tan, depending on the area, you could try one of those big plastic tablecloths! I'm going to get one and just put a cloth nappy on it to soak up any wee.

    Thanks everyone.
Yep I am a single mum and yes it is very hard at times, but I have an amazing family and some wonderful friends as well, which is wonderful. I couldnt of done any of this without any of them.
I love Corey more than anything in the world but sometimes think why is this so hard its supposed to be one of the happiest times of yur life and Im not well. I sometimes think I have missed his first few weeks as I wasnt feeling 100% and that upsets me soooooo much.
My cooking class has been delayed a week so dont start until next week, but I went to the gym today and that was great, but boy it hurt!!!!! But was great having half an hour for myself to do something.
Corey is in bed now has been since 7.30pm and its now 9.50 so hopefully he will stay there all night. I might just give him a top up of his bottle before I go to bed.

    Hello!!

Wow, everyone has been really chatty lately, I'm having trouble keeping up again!!! Sorry, but I don't think I have the energy for too many personals - will give it a shot but sorry in advance if I don't get to everyone!!

Lulu - Best of luck for your scan tomorrow, I can't wait to hear all about it and don't stress, I'm sure everything will be perfect (and you have no control over it anyway)!!! Oh and YES, definitely want to get Luke into swimming lessons but have no idea where to go - what are your plans?? We should try and go somewhere together - can't remember where you live though but if there somewhere nearby both of us it might work out!!! I'm going to start looking into it this week. There's a state swim in East Freo that I'm thinking about or otherwise the Melville Rec Centre but I haven't investigated any of them yet!!

Hayley - I think you're doing an amazing job!! DH has been away a bit lately and is always really busy studying as well as working, and I find that hard - let alone not having him at all. You're incredible and it must be hard when he's with his Dad!! Good work going to the gym and hope the cooking classes are fun!!

Sez - Soooo great to hear from you!!! I'm with you too - I just go with the flow now and let Luke tell me what he wants, it really does help although I wonder if its going to make things harder down the track!! So far, it's working wonders and I'm much happier too!!

Kristen - Congrats on making the big decision of starting your own business, how wonderful!! I LOVE photography too but certainly don't have the equipment or know how to do anything, its a shame really, I think I could be good at it!!!! LOL - that makes me sound quite full of myself!!! Best of luck and I love the front runner for the name so far!!

Tan - Having a boy, I'm too scared to give him a lot of nappy off time!! I know its terrible but he sprays it EVERYWHERE!!!! LOL. Congrats on the great sleep too, lets pray it continues for you and finally starts for me!!!!

Danni - I hope Mason is continuing with some decent sleep for you too honey, I think you need it the most out of all of us!! Sending you lots of big hugs and I hope you manage to catch up on a bit of shut eye and thats all it is thats getting you down!! Its sooo hard to know sometimes and I often wonder myself!!!

Ash - Hows Blake doing?? I hope he's on the mend.

Dan - Hows the bed, I'm still giggling just thinking about it.

Jan - Hows Julian?? I hope he's feeling much better now too.

Sorry to everyone that I missed but I actually think I did quite well in the end!!! Anyway, as for me.... things are looking up too!! Luke's nights have improved ever so slightly (more because I'm not fighting him to go back to sleep anymore and I'm just dealing with feeding him)!!! I have cut the feed down from a full 240ml bottle to a 180ml bottle. Tonight I might even try to just give him 120ml and see how we go!!! Maybe he'll realise soon enough that he's meant to sleep through!!! Its sooo frustrating though because he'll only take about 120ml first thing in the morning and then his 11am feed isn't that great either!!! Its like he's a bit mixed up!! Oh well, not much I can do about it!! He's consistently waking at 2am but will go back to sleep straight after a feed without a fuss. Then, I have trouble sleeping and he thinks morning starts at about 5.30am!!!! This morning, I gave up at 6.10am and he came and slept in bed with me - anything for another 45 mintues of sleep or so!

His day sleeps are AMAZING though and I'm getting soooo much done, so its not all bad. We're much happier today. I had a massage too, so that helps but unfortunately it wasn't a relaxation one but a deep tissue as I have LOTS of back problems, so it was REALLY painful. Still good though, to a degree!!

Anyway MUST go to bed, this is valuable sleep I'm missing out on..... but you're all worth it!! Take care and I hope everyone starts feeling better soon.

    Hi everyone
I have just found this thread and have been reading up on what every one has been up to!!!
So just thought I would do a quick introduction as I need to go to bed!!!
My little man Ethyn was born on 30 May, weighed 7lb 5oz (3.322kg), 50cm, 35cm hc.
I had him weighed last week, so at 19 weeks he was 7.26kgs and 64cm long. Can't believe how quick they grow. He has been rolling mainly back to tummy since about 14 weeks, and he would rather sleep on his tummy than his back.
I think thats about it for now.
Looking forward to getting to know you and your bubbas!!!

    Welcome Lee and Ethyn!!
Selfish one here Bad 2 nights in a row - after 2 great ones, last night was the worst - up 3 times between 11-2, then up for the day at 5, and 4 feeds all up. WTF is going on?? I really am beside myself now. At one stage I just stayed in bed crying last night so Al got up and settled her, first time ever - usually I just do it but even though he "works" he's going to have to start helping me on the nights she is like this. Worse bit was even when she was asleep we couldnt - its was hot and windy and I was wide awake - Al ended up on the couch.

I rang Tweddle yesterday after spending an hour trying to get her down for a nap and they have pushed my interview forward to this Friday thank goodness while I was bawling on the phone. She told me to call my MCH if I need some strategies. This sounds awful but I dont really like her There are 2 others at the centre that are just gorgous - uuurrrghhhhh. Sorry minor vent and whinge - I hate complaining because she is such a bright happy girl at ALL other times - such a joy and Im scared that even what I have written doesnt even sound that bad when I put it down but its gotten to the point where Im counting the minutes and dreading the time she is awake because I know I will have to fight her to sleep soon. Might try to come back in a better mood later - off to kick myself up the a$$.

    Hi Tan
    Thanks for the welcome
I really don't know what to say that will brighten your day. Hopefully it's just a phase she is going thru and there will be a light at the end of the tunnel very soon. We had trouble with Ethyn's day sleeps, he was only having 20 minutes in the afternoon, then was wide awake then got really really grumpy and I could do nothing, he would not even sleep when in my arms. I ended up going back to wrapping him. Good luck with everything

Welcome Lee!! I know, isn't it just incredible how fast our little bubs grow!!! Luke seems to do something new every single day atm - it's just amazing!!

Tan - You poor thing, I'm sending you heaps of big hugs!! It really sounded like you had turned a corner - the cheeky little monkey!! Don't feel bad about having a whinge, that's what were all here for and I think most of us (if not all of us) know exactly how you're feeling!! It will get better. Just try to enjoy the 'happy' moments when she's awake and try not to think about the next sleep! I'm so glad that you're interview was moved forward and i hope you manage to get some answers soon. Good on Al for helping you last night, don't feel bad about that either, although they have to go to work, they also have to support us, so use it when you can!! My DH has been great lately and has been up a few times to help out too!!

Well, I hate to say this coz I'm sure like everyone else, it's not going to last but we had our first REALLY good night last night. Luke went down at about 8pm last night and didn't wake until 4am!!! That's the best night we've EVER had!!! Unfortunately I didn't take full advantage of it but still, I had one of the best nights ever aswell. I had to feed him at 4am but only made up half a bottle. He took it all and then gave a bit of a cry, wanting more but after a little cuddle, he forgot all about it and went straight back to sleep. Unfortunately I couldn't get back to sleep though and then he woke again at 5.30am. We tried to settle him until about 6.30am and then he came into bed with me until 7am! Little monkey. I'm not complaining though because it was still the best night ever for us!!! I'm praying it will continue, at least for a week or so. Its my birthday on Friday (the big 3-0) and it would be so nice to feel good and not so bloody tired!!

Anyway, Luke's asleep again now - his day sleeps are just incredible. He still fights me a little and I usually have to go back in to put his dummy in twice before he'll drift off to sleep but all in all, it's just wonderful. So there is hope for us all. I've really just let Luke lead the way and it's made all the difference (as well as the extra formula feed during the day)!! We don't have a real set routine, other than the feeds but its so much easier to set feed times now that he's on formula!!

Better go, we've got a plumber coming over to give us a quote on some work in our bathroom - FINALLY we're getting stuck into the reno - it's only been a work in progress for nearly 2 years!!! I'm desperate to get LUke in the bath!!

    Take care!

    Hi everyone,

Just a quick pop in. Julian is getting better, though now I think he is going through a teething spell. He screams and it is so hard to work out what to do. I hope things settle down soon. We had Pat's 30th bday on the weekend and we went out to dinner which was great. I had a hawaiian themed luau for him here on Sunday with our families and it was great fun. I bought drinking coconuts for everyone as well as lei's and we all had a laugh. I actually felt carefree for once and my family commented on how happy I looked. It was especially nice having Julian with us to celebrate the occasion.

I hope all of our bubba's perk up soon. Surely this spell has to end!!

Kelly - that's great that your are getting more sleep, it makes such a difference doesn't it and the day sleeps are pure gold!

    Lee - welcome to BB!

Tan - I hope that things get better for you soon. We all have our good days and bad days. There is always a good day on the horizon though I know it is hard to remember that when everything seems to much

kristen - love the name for your business, it gives good vibes!

Hayley - it is great that you are able to do something nice for yourself and have some 'me' time. You are doing an amazing job, being a single mum would be very hard work.

Lulu - nudie time sounds soooo cute!! I'll have to give it a go. Let us know how your scan goes. So exciting!

Dan - I laughed when I read your post about breaking the bed!! I think mine would go into shock too! I'm glad to hear you and more relaxed and you are getting along better with DH. It makes such a difference when you are on the same page.

Danni - I am sure once you get some more sleep you will feel like your old self. When Julian was up all hours of the night I was a different person. I took it out on Pat, I was depressed, I cried alot, sleep deprivation makes you like that. Though if you ever feel utter hoplessness I'd go back to the doctor again for a 2nd opinion.

Sarah - sorry to hear that Noah is unwell. How is he going now? How are things with you and Juz? We are here for you if you need us. You must be feeling so stressed. Big hugs to you.

Hi to everyone else, I'd better go and make pat a cuppa as he just did the washing up.

    Ciao

Oh Tan. You whinge away. Like Kelly said, its why we're here. I've had a few times like that where I start bawling the minute Izzy wakes up because I'm just too damn tired to drag my sorry a*se out of bed. Al may work, but so do you - full time mummy work is hard so don't feel guilty kicking him out of bed to settle Izzy for you. She's his princess too. As for your MHN, can you just swap to one of the others in the centre? I know they get assigned, but someone you like and trust is so important for this sort of stuff. Its nothing personal after all, just one of those strange character clash things.

And this is probably the wrong advice, but why don't you give yourself a day off. Don't fight Izzy at all today. Pack her up in the car and go for a wander around the shops, a park or something. If she nods off in her pram and gets a nap, great. If not, you get out and about and have a break from home and screaming baby. There's been a few times with my Izzy that I haven't even bothered with day sleeps because I know it will be a fight I'll lose. I wait until she gets tired and crabby playing, then I just cuddle her and she nods off on me for an hour or so. It may not be following "the rules", but who cares. A happy you and Izzy is far more important than following some supposedly magic schedule that books say we should do.

    Good luck today - :hugs:

BBL after my scan to catch up with everyone else and let you know how it went . . .

Oh girls - thanks so much, you really are my sanity!
Lulu - funny you should say that because I have a list of stuff to do out today and thats exactly what I was planning to do. Then half an hour ago my mum and dad popped in and mums going to stay here after the next feed and look after Iz so I can go and do all the stuff I need to do, so I can have time out by myself - even better! Last nights sleep was good- she woke very unsettled between 10-1130 but I think she still has a sore throat, but then slept til 5!

Good luck with your scan today hun- cant wait to hear how you went!!

Lulu - All the best for your scan - can't wait to hear all about it. That just seems like sooo long ago for all of us now!!

Tan - I agree completely with Lulu, although it's not technically the 'right' thing to do, it's certainly helped Luke and I. I just don't fight him anymore, unless I know he's really tired and it won't last long!! Its working wonders!! I was sooo miserable and depressed when I was trying to follow a 'routine' and reading all my books. Anyway, that's just what worked for us - everyone and every bub is different!! I'm sooo glad you had a decent night though, lets hope it a sign of things to come. Enjoy the time out by yourself too!!

Jan - So glad that Julian is a bit better. Damn teething - I'm dreading that. I just know that now Luke is on a good little sleep routine, he'll start teething and throw it all out the window!!!

Well, I'm completely amazed today!! Luke had another fantastic night last night, even better than the night before. What a little champion!! He went down at about 8pm and didn't wake until 5.30am!!! Unfortunately, once again, I didn't sleep very well but we'll get there!! I had to feed him just before 6am though and I hope that doesn't throw everything out the window for today and tonight!! We'll see what happens and just go with the flow!!

Well, must get going, have mothers group today and I can't wait to finally tell them how great Luke is!! Then, tomorrow I'm heading to another Mums and Bubs movie, should be fun!! Man, I just can't believe how much better I feel!!

Kelly – thanks for the support hun! I agree with not going with a routine too, just feeding her and putting her to bed when she wants it – problem is how she is getting to sleep – more on that in a sec! Yay for Luke!! Im sure you will start sleeping better soon too – I wear earplugs and I find that used to help but now I hear her crying even when she isn’t  Arrgghh well. Hope you mothers group went well and which movie are you going to see?! I feel like I haven’t been to the movies in years- might have to check out whats on next week! Whats the plan for your birthday hun? Doing anything special??
Yay for the reno too – I LOVE my bath not sure what I would do without one!!

Lulu- hope your scan went really well hun and you enjoyed seeing little Ned for the first time! Is it seeming a bit more real yet? Do you have a tummy!?? How is Izzy going?? I still think its great that you will have almost twins!! I say that but I understand what a shock it must have been for you and still probably still is! Not sure about the MCHN – I would feel weird calling and asking to see someone else – especially if I go in and then see her there – I might ask the girls at Mothers Group to see who has seen her and what they think too.

Jan – great to see you pop in again! Glad Pat’s birthday went well – isn’t it great to feel like life is normal again! Im so glad the weather is getting better here in Melbourne because Im sick to death of the sight of my 4 walls in the lounge room and am spending more and more time outside with Iz – she loves the wind and trees! My little greeny!

Lee – I might try wrapping her loosely too –her arms flap all about when I put her down for her day sleeps, its all just weird and beyond me right now and Im willing to try anything except letting her CIO! Hope Ethyn is being a good boy for mum!

Hayley – Must be such a great help having a good family and friend support around you hun! The gym sounds great- Ive just worked out with my mum today that Im going to start swimming and gong to the gym too- I need to get out m ore on my own and its our plan of attack to get Iz on a bottle and used to her for when I go back to work! Im ready to do one day a week right now but she wont take the damn thing yet!!

Sez- thanks for the tip- Im going to go to spotlight and get some of that fluffy backed plastic – should be fine for summer and will stop me having to wash a million towels and nappies!

Danni – how are you cherub?? Hope you are feeling better? Have you been back to the GP??

Ash – How are you and Blake going?? Hope your AD’s are ok and you are feeling well hun! I read your post about sitting up – can you believe how big and grown up our little people are right now!

Sarah – How are the annoucement cards going!? Hope Noah is being good and giving you a chance to work!

Kristen - Hopefully coffee at the baby show on Friday! Will msg you@!! Are planning on getting there at around 1:30 at this stage!

A big to everyone Ive missed!

Well every night and day is just so different isn’t it? Last night wasn’t too bad thank goodness so we were able to get some decent rest. Mum relived me today too – I went out for 2 hours just on errands and shopping I had to do and it was great to get out baby free (although I rang home twice to see if all was ok!)
Mum put Iz down for a nap – and she watched her for 10 minutes after rocking her to sleep, and she found that while she was drifting off you could see her whole body relax and then all of a sudden she would startle – (like the startle reflex when they were little). Its like she feels like she is falling or something in her sleep, poor thing – no wonder she wont fall asleep without booby or being held? Has anyone else had this with their bubs? Not sure if its normal or something like night terrors or just a reflex while she is falling into a deeper sleep. None of my books say anything about it so I might ask the Tweddle nurse on Friday when I have my phone interview.

Well I have mothers group tomorrow – yay, its my one sanity during the week, although my wisdom teeth have flared up again and I have a killer headache so may not make it I have my sister and her family coming for dinner tonight so Id better get cooking,
Have a great night all and will chat soon!
Thanks again too for all the support – baby steps…

Tan - yay for having a nicer day. My Izzy definitely still startles too. I think whether she wakes up or not is related to what else is going on - if she's already well and truly asleep she's fine but if she's in that early 10 minutes then she wakes and has to settle herself (or I have to settle her). Izzy sleeping for longer than one sleep cycle during the day is pretty rare now, and good sleeper that she is, I have NEVER been able to resettle her during the day - if she's awake, that's it.

Kelly - I'm not sure about swimming yet. I was thinking of Beatty Park (I live in Wembley so its really close) but my community nurse said its so highly chlorinated. She recommended the swim school at SJOG, Subiaco or Challenge Stadium. Haven't looked into them yet. How was your day at the movies?

Sez - that's a great idea about the table cloth. Might have to do that one myself.

Lee - my little girl seems so tiny next to all your big boys - she's only weighing 6.4kgs at 5.5 months. Even her little cousin who is 3 months younger than her seems to be catching up quickly!

Jan - the party for Pat sounds great, and its brilliant to hear you relaxed and enjoying yourself. Hopefully Julian won't be too bad with teething. I've tried nurofen, panadol, brauer's teething mix and bonjela for Izzy, as well as teething rings, frozen wash clothes, cold "fish" etc. I've found the best thing for her is the bonjela - she can be screaming and it seems to have an almost instant effect.

Poor little girl is having so much trouble with her teeth- obviously more going to appear soon. She was sound asleep last night and then woke up literally screaming. It was so awful, she sounded in so much pain. The bonjela seems to work really well at the moment, so crossing everything it stays that way.

Well, scan went really well today. Ned was in there kicking around, although not co-operating with the sonographer!! Ended up with a 1:3300 chance for Downs, which is brilliant considering that I start with a base of 1:164 cos I'm such an old cow. Its definitely feeling more real now and yes Tan, I do have a belly, although I don't think I look pregnant - just fat and wobbly!!! I'm sure people look at me with Izzy and wonder why I'm so slack about getting in shape after having a baby. I feel like putting a sign on my head saying "I'm not fat and lazy, I'm pregnant - AGAIN!"

Anyway, off to give Iz a bath. Its normally her daddy's job but he's off rock climbing so I need to squeeze it in around the cooking, washing, cleaning . . .

Wishing all babies and mummies a lovely loooooong sleep tonight.

hey guys... just a quick one from me.

Mason now has a virus. FFS we cant do anything right. Ater 3 pretty good nights...last night was the worst ever. I slept upright with him in the armchair with him in my arms and he STILL thrashed around all night. I couldnt believe it

Today he has snot pouring from his nose, water and pus pouring from his eyes and he cant stop coughing...which then means he gags...and then vomits

i love you all....i will be back SOON with something other than my problems...i promise!

Danni - Sending you heaps of big hugs honey! I'm sure things will start improving for you soon - they just have to, you've had such a rough trot!! I'm thinking of you and we're all here for you. I hope Mason is improving, the poor little popet!!

Well, just a quick one from me as I'm off to another Mums and Bubs movie this morning!! Unfortunately, it seems that two nights of wonderful sleep is all we were granted with!! Last night, Luke woke again at 2am and I just couldn't settle him - until I got the bottle out! Cheeky monkey. He did go straight back to sleep after the little feed though but woke again at 6am!! Oh well, I guess that's not too bad still, other than DH getting home at 11pm and waking me. We'll get there.

Anyway off to the movies and then Mum's coming over with my Nana and Grandad as it's my birthday tomorrow (the big 3-0)!! I think DH is going to take me out to breakfast before he goes to work, so that should be nice!! Then, we're having a little gathering the following weekend with our friends!

Take care and hope that everyones bubs have been kind to them!

    Hey everyone!

OMG, so much is happening with evryone, its been so busy in here! I have been MIA lately, have been out every day this week doing bits and pieces, and trying to catch up with friends etc etc!! Also been feeling sorry for myself as my DH is overseas and I miss him sooo much, and so do the kids! Luckily he is back Sat night, I have just been keeping the kids occupied so they don't miss him too much! OK, I am going to try personals!!

Firstly Lulu, your scan!!! How exciting!!! I am so jealous when I see preg women now, although I always wanted them out when I was preg, weird huh!! I can't wait to see if it pink or blue - HOW EXCITING!!! Glad the nuchal results are good, bet it was great seeing Ned jumping around!!

Sarah, hope you are OK. Is a trying time keeping a relationship going and dealing with the ups and downs of motherhood. Fingers crossed everthing works out for you.

Hayley, you are an amazing woman. Must be hard being a single Mum, and also being parted from your little man. Good luck with the cooking classes, sounds like fun!!

Kelly, bummer about Luke waking again!! ANgus is exactly the same. He wakes at 2/3am, has a feed, goes straight back to sleep, then wakes at about 6/7 am for the day!! Hungry bubbas that they are!! Happy Birthday for tomorrow!!! Hope you have a great day!!

Danni, poor Mason (and poor you), I hope he gets better quickly. You have had a bad run hey, I hope your luck improves and Mason gets better!! Make sure you get rest when you can (easier said than done I know). Take Care.

Tan, how are the bottles going? Angus is the same, little monkey! I have gotten a bit of EBM into him with the Tommee tippee ones, but it took forever! I am thinking about going back to work soon and am stressing big time! I will prob do a couple of night shifts to start with and he wont miss me as much!

Lee. welcome!!! Your little man is gorgeous!!

Kristen, good on you for going through with starting your business!! Wish there was something I could do so I could stay at home!! Trust me, I have been racking my brain!! Good Luck, and love the name!

Hello to evryone else!! I know I have prob missed someone, but my brain is totally going to sleep!! All my kiddies are in bed, so I get to relax... Might have a glass of wine since Angus hopefully wont want a feed till about 2!!! This is the only time of day I get to actually have me time, and the house is so so quiet without DH here!! We normallly take this time to catch up and just have quiet time without 3 kids screaming and fighting!!

Anyway, take care everyone!!! Sending sleep dust over all our babies for tonight haha!!

    Hi everyone,

My name is Jane and I have a gorgeous baby girl called Ella. She will be 5 months next week! I always come onto the Belly Belly forum but have never noticed this part. Ok if I join? Ella was 4.035kg and 56cm when she was born. She is now 8.12 kg and 65 cm long!! I know she is a chubby bubby but she is so cute and cuddly! I am breastfeeding her and it is going pretty well. She giggles and babbles constantly and she can st up with assistance. She hasn't rolled over yet but it should happen soon.

Looking forward to getting to know you all!!
