Danni - how did Mason go? Is he feeling any better? And more to the point, how are you going?

Jen - Hello and welcome! Lovely to have you join us here. Yes, I've just started doing photography professionally, and as Danni has said, if you're after someone once you move to Melbourne, I'd love to do so! PM me your email address and I will send you some pricing info!

Lee - haha yeah, true, but I think she's a while off knowing what it means, still it's pretty funny!

Lulu - you will be so fine hon, you will do it brilliantly! As you know from being pregnant last time, you just adapt! You will wonder what you had to worry about! And, you've always got DH on hand too!

Kelly - I'm so sorry you've had such a rought time with Luke lately. Hopefully he might improve now that you're starting him on solids?? I hope so hon!

Tan - OMG, I didn't know you started Iz on solids already!! Eek, am I last one to start solids?? Mia is 6 months next month and I wasn't starting until then, but I think I'm the last! LOL How is she going??

Sez - good luck with the feeding! Persistence is the key I'm sure!

Michelle - OMG at all of the stuff he brought back!! hahahaaa ah well, at least you know you always have some on hand in case any break!

Any others for the Melbourne meetup or is it just Danni, Tan and I??

Well, my little Miss Mia is such a show off. She thinks she's hot sh*t now that she can say dada - it's quite funny!!

I got some better video footage of her today so I made a short compilation of her talking from the last few days which is here: YouTube - Mia's first word She makes me laugh so much!!!

I'd love to come girls, but that's cup weekend isnt' it? DH will be home, and Williamstown is a loooooong way from us, so it would mean being out all day. He works really long hours so I try to be around on the long weekends etc. We might even go down to the beach house. If it's not cup weekend though I'll be there!

Kristen- that video is gorgeous!! I'd be wondering where Mama is too! What video program do you use for editing? Our camera is only a few months old but I hate the program we got with it.
I only decided to start rice yesterday with Iz because she spent the last 4 days watching everything I put in my mouth, reaching out her hands and making noises with her mouth. Like I said - today was pretty non-eventful so I just put it away and will try again tomorrow or Friday! Im not in any huge rush, but I felt that she was showing an interest so I'd start. She has eczema so Im not starting anything other than cereal for the next few weeks!

ETA: Oooh I didnt realise it was Cup Weekend. It looks like DH has the day off - so maybe we could change the day Kristen and then Sez could come too!!

I don't mind if we change it! How about the 9th (Friday) instead?

Tan - it's just Windows Movie Maker, that last vid only took 10 mins to put together. It's very easy to use!

I'm going into hospital today to have a operation to have a breast lump removed, I'm a bit nervous and can't sleep. I was like this when they induced me the night before too when I was having Mackenzie. I just don't like hospitals! I have 9 bottles of frozen EBM and my MIL is here to help out so I have nothing to worry about my kids are in good hands! I'm just a worrier at the best of times!

Tan - Kenzie did the same thing to me watching everything I put in my mouth, I felt guilty not sharing sometimes! I just give her 2 teaspoons at lunch time and then she goes nuts trying to eat the spoon heheh. Sometimes shes interested sometimes not and spits it out, its all a learning experience for them I guess!

Michelle - I have heard all that DTD at ovulation before so we'll give it a good go when I get AF back, I just started Kenzie on solids so hopefully that might help bring her back!

Kelly - I have had insomnia of late so sitting reading BB when everyone has gone to bed and the house is all quiet is just blissful! Thank you for the warm welcome, how are the solids going?!?!

Wish me luck for my op!

Jen - All the best for the op today - Im sure everything is going wonderfully well. I'm a worrier too, so I know what you mean!!! Take care.

Danni - Hope the shopping trip is a huge success - nothing like some retail therapy when you're not feeling too good!!

Sorry for the quick one, Luke basically missed his morning sleep, so its been crazy around here, the house is a mess!!!

Well, we started Luke on some rice cereal this morning and he absolutely LOVED it!!! He ate the whole lot!!! I just made up one teaspoon, as per the instructions but I put nearly double the amount of milk, so it was quite runny. I defrosted some ebm that I've still got in the freezer and used that. He couldn't get enough of it and took to it better than I could of hoped for. Didn't even screw up his face or spit any out, it just went straight down!! I won't make it as runny tomorrow and see how we go!! It was great.

We had a REALLY good night last night too - Luke went down at 8pm and woke just before 4am. I only had to get up twice before he went back to sleep until 5.30am - then that was it!!! I'm bloody happy with that. Now if only he could keep doing it - he's sooo up and down atm.

Better go. Hope everyone is well.

Can whoever stole my beautiful, content, happy baby please give her back and take the monster they left in her place with them??? Izzy had been a crabby, grumpy nightmare since 6.15 am - no sleeps, completely unable to be put down without screaming the place down. Horrible child she has been. Don't know why because it doesn't seem that she is in any pain whatsoever. Full moon? Humid weather? God help us when she has PMT!!!

Kelly - Thats great that Luke loved his rice cereal. We haven't put Ethyn on solids yet, I don't think he's ready, he's still going about 4 - 4.5 hours between feeds and seems happy with what he's getting

Lulu - Hopefully its just a phase she is going thru and you get your little girl back today!!

Danni - How was last night with Mason? Hope you got some great bargains when you went shopping!!!

to everyone else, hope your bubbas are being good!!

I got Ethyn weighed on Wednesday, he now weighs 7.59 kg and is 65cm long. Over the past 6 weeks he is averaging 100gms a week, so I think thats pretty good, although everyone calls him chubby!!! Which is frustrating because he is on the average line, so how can that make him big!!
I have dropped out a bottle for him, but have increased his other 4 bottles. We got to the point where we were struggling to get his 5th bottle in, and sometimes it wasn't until 11pm at night. So by increasing his bottles I have also increased the time between each feed. Day one was yesterday and it went well! Would I have to decrease the size of his bottles when I introduce solids?

oh lulu: im sorry i have no advice. Just remember some of us are in the same boat and know exactly how you feel day in and day out

shopping was good..until i realised our bank balance is diminishing too quickly

Lee: Ethyn cant be on the average line at 4 months. Mason is just on the average line and he was 7.3kg at SIX months??

Last night was pretty good. I only had to resettle him 5 times in the cot and didnt have to pick him up until 5am where we slept on the couch until 9am. I cant believe it. NOrmally we are up at 6!

Danni - glad you had a better night last night hun. Shopping is good therapy in one way and bad in others isnt it?!

Lulu- you poor thing. These little cheeky monkeys just test us to the limits dont they. I guess the one consolation is that each day/night is so different. Ive finally accepted that I wont be getting my 12 hour nights back for a loooong time and if I have to hold/feed her to sleep then so be it. I wont be able to do when she is much bigger, and now that Ive accepted it, Ive relaxed more and if anything since then she has improved too. Its like she picked up on me being stressed and upset. Anyway not sure any of that helps :hugs: Have to say though I had a little giggle at the PMT comment PMSL - I cant imagine!!

Lee - Ethyn sounds like a healthy thriving boy! Dont worry about peoples comments or even those lines!! Most are based on US charts anyway!! If he is happy and healthy who cares!! Once you start solids initially hun, you dont actually replace a feed, rather you add it after a feed. I think after a few weeks you then drop the feed, once they are getting enough nutirition from the solids to replace the feed if that makes sense! Does your MCH centre run any solids classes?? Ours do so it might be worthwhile finding out about them.

Kelly - Yay for Luke! What a clever man! Izzy still makes a face like Im feeding her dirt so I dont give her too much or push her to eat it, although she moved it around her mouth alot today and actually swallowed a bit more -maybe 1/2 a teaspoon! Ah well! on his sleeping too hun! Are you finding you are able to sleep as well now!?? Izzy is waking 2 times a night on average. The hardest thing for me at the moment is that the time varies every night! Arrggh, at least she goes straight back to sleep after her feed.

Jen - I hope your op went really well hun and you are home safe and recovering quickly

    to everyone else!!!!

Well we are just fine and dandy!! I posted about my glass incident in the general chatter section but OMG there was glass all over my kitchen when I dropped a heavy glass lid that shattered!!! Izzy was in her bouncer and Im not kidding there wasnt a speck of glass on her or the bouncer she was in! Can you believe that - it literally looked like a shield was around her. I should have taken a photo coz you could almost see the glass going around her and the bouncer. I still cant believe it - I feel sick at the thought of what might have been.

I also found a gorgeous friend from high school on FB!! We lost contact over the years (13!!) but are so glad to have found each other again. She has a little boy who is 2 weeks younger than Izzy but she lost a little boy 15 minutes after birth, before Ethan was born, poor thing, I cant imagine. She lives in Brissy so I might have to convince Al that we need a holiday!!

Well this has turned into a novel so I had better go - getting my hair done today - whoo hoo!!
Catch all of you gorgeous girls later on!! xoxo

Danni - glad you enjoyed the shopping. Its a pity about the bank balance isn't it. Its depressing when you see how quickly the credit card adds up.

Lee - I'm with Tan - ignore what people say. So long as your little man is healthy then so what. There will alway be bigger bubbies (Ethyn) and smaller babies (Izzy).

Tan - I know what you mean about going with the flow, and I have to admit I'm enjoying cuddling her to sleep at the moment - I know those days are numbered as she gets bigger and heavier. We're taking my own advice this morning and heading to the shops - she loves all the lights and things so she'll be fine there (and I can follow Danni's lead)

    Hello,

Just a quick one from me and will get on here later on to do personals. Julian turned 6 months on Wednesday! We were really excited about it, at times it feels like the months has gone by so slowly, then other times it feels like it has flown by. Julian gave his daddy a special and said 'dadda' right on his 6 month birthday. He now says it constantly, it is quite funny watching him. I think he thinks it is a new game. He says mamamama only when he is crying and beside himself so there is hope for me yet.

He is guzzling down his baby cereal and I have tried pears and he loves that too. I find it fun feeding him as he smiles for most of it and babbles. I'm sure that won't last! How do we go out now that we feed them solids without giving them food poisoning? Any tips? I have a cooler bag but do we pop the food in there from the fridge or freezer? So confused!!! And just thinking of adding meat later down the track is giving me a headache. I read about grating while the meat was frozen or something?

Anyway sorry for the selfish post but I had to share. Since he turned six months it's like a switch was flipped and he is a different boy. It's just amazing. I'll be back later for personals.

    Take care ladies
