yer i remember Annabelle but haven't seen any posts from her in a while...maybe do a member search and pm her?
Kate - Glad to hear Bella's better, hopefully the scan goes well and there aren't too many dramas for you xoxo
hmm a nanny now there's something i didn't think about. DH has a new job and will be working from home but needs a certain amount of kid free time to take calls and do a visit or something so a nanny would be ideal.....mmm i remember seeing an agency at the Expo so will look into it
We are good here, well no dramas just the usually. Tallon has all four of his front Top teeth pushing through together so naturally my eyes feel like they are dangling from the sockets but surprisingly he's not chaffing me (i was red raw on the boobs when the bottom ones were coming through)
I'm not enjoying this spring though, my hayfever is rampant and there is nothing i can take for it whislt BF not fair but hey DH doesn't mind the swollen faced puffy red eye'd sniflly girl i've become so meh
Hi girls,
Am still getting the updates so have been keeping up to date with people ....just slack on posting.......
Can't believe enough time has passed for some to be TTC again...good luck
Also can't believe that our little Willow is turning ONE next week! how amazing...it has gone so quickly for us. I am not sure if it is because Miss C has been so consuming of our time that Miss W has missed out a bit...but she is such a chilled out bub even though she still doesn't necessarily sleep through (still a BF'd bub).
Some stats....Has reached 9.6kg, 7 teeth (eighth on its way), pulling herself up, but not walking, says MAAMAAMAAMAAMAMA,, loves curry food, refused a dummy, tolerates a bottle of EBM, won't have a bar of formula, is now in to her 4th week of daycare (only Mondays) with Big Sis, loves swimming and walks in the pram, generally only a very light sleeper ( can go through the day with a 1/2 hr nap) and resists sleeping anywhere but her cot...(hence the 1/2 hr nap)....I think that about sums it all up she is an absolute delight, have a lot of issues with Miss C being a bit over physical or possessive about toys. but Miss W does hold her ground pretty well.
Stay well all, and good luck to the girls TTC again...would love to be there but DH is adamant that there will be no more...
xJo
Hey Jo we should catch up soon let the bubbas have a play date! i know what you mean about the possesive toys part, theo has had many naughty corners for not sharing....High Five to still BFing! im not alone heehee
HEllo...Jo, good to see youre doing well. We have the toy issue too and a lot of pushing. I am trying to teach Olivia to tell Rebecca rather than shove! mmmmm! Glad youre still b'feeding too.
We have Becs injections on Friday, birthday on Tuesday, party the following sunday and checkup the following week....then dh and I are taking the girls to the wiggles. I went last year when Bec was about 2 weeks old and left her with dh....I remember sitting there holding onto my boobs coz they were ready to explode!!! Rebeccas on her last tin of formula and i am doing half formular and half cows milk. She is doing fine with this. By the weekend it should be straight cows milk. I am trying to cut her bottles down and dont want to be on bottles til shes 2 like Olivia was. Slowly slowly. She is definately eating more solids with less bottles. The girls have been doing well with sleep. Bec is sleeping through most nights and so is Olivia...I am so proud of Olivia. We have been toiltet training her with a pull up at night. SHe came in at 430 this morning asking to go to the toilet. Fantastic! Its so nice to have 1 in nappies!
Happy 1st Birthday to Mia today. Its kind of weird seeing the new sticky threads for November 16-30 2009......can believe its been a year. rebeccas birthday is on tuesday and we are doing her party next sunday. She had her needles on Friday and was fine...a bit sooky...to be expected.
I have started running on the c25k challenge...did my second run today and although i havent run in 16 years, I feel great! We are skipping this month for ttc.....however I am about to ovulate and last night I dreamt that I fell pregnant this cycle!!!
Must go and enjoy the morning before it warms up....I have my friends sons 1st bday party today to go to this arvo.
Happy Birthday to all the bubba's who've turned 1 this week!!!
We had Sienna's b'day party at 11.30 on Saturday and it was a great success. She was such a little angel. I could have throttled her in the morning, normally she goes down for a sleep around 9.30 and sleeps for 1-1&1/2 hours, but not this Saturday...nope she played in the cot for two hours, then slept for 20 minutes!! grrr!! So we were running late to her own party AND thinking that she was going to be a little grump, but she proved us all wrong and had a wonderful day. She was so funny with her b'day cake - she got right into it, even licking the plate clean. I've put some pics up on Facebook. She also got ridiculously spoilt so I'm trying to think of a polite way to tell friends and family: NO CHRISTMAS PRESENTS!!!!! So all in all it was a lovely day even if I was broke, exhausted and sunburnt at the end of it
As for development updates, Sienna still isn't walking on her own. She's happy to trot around for hours holding one hand, but as soon as we let go she drops to her bum on purpose coz she just doesn't have the confidence to step out on her own. In saying that, she has taken a few steps on her own, but only if she's really distracted, and as soon as she realises it, plop, she's back on her butt. We got her a push-along walker (not a sit-in one) for her b'day and she adores that, so hopefully that will help to build her confidence.
She's now fully on cow's milk, no more formula - woo hoo!! I think she actually enjoys the milk more than the formula coz she scoffs every single bottle, whereas before we swapped, she'd leave a fair bit in each bottle. Still sleeping thru most nights, but I think there are more teeth on the way as she has been a bit unsettled, calling out throughout the night, but then settling herself straight back to sleep. She still only has 5 teeth so she's definitly due for some more.
Will be booking Sienna in for her 12 month shots in the next week or so. Not looking forward to it of course, but these are the joys of parenthood!!
We had a chicken pox scare last week, Sienna attended a b'day party on the 7th Nov, then two days later one of the other kids broke out in spots. So far we've been clear, but apparantly it can take up to 21 days for symptoms to appear so fingers crossed. It's better for her to get them now than later but I still don't need the stress!!
Well I've done it again and written our life story!! Take care ladies, hope all the upcoming b'day parties are a great success xx
HAPPY 1ST BIRTHDAY REBECCA!!!! Hope you have had great day
Melly - Great to hear Sienna enjoyed her first birthday party. I know what you mean about the presents! Lara still isnt walking on her own either. She is doing pretty much the same as Sienna. DD1 never walked until 14 months so I know she'll eventually get there. Hope Sienna doesnt get the chicken pox. Lara has 8 teeth at the moment with more definitely on their way as we speak.
Went and visited my friend today, she had a baby boy 2 weeks ago. It was so hard to imagine that this time last year Lara was that small.
Happy Birthday Rebecca and Mia! hope you all got spoilt rotten
well i just wanted to brag that as of today i have be breastfeeding for 12MONTHS!!!! woohoo! omg never thought we'd make it this far its a vast improvement on the 3-4months that i managed with Theo.
we are going to enjoy a nice swim and relaxing today before i start getting ready for the big party next weekend! cannot wait, our 1st birthdays and christenings are usually just a massive party for the adults. it starts at 11 and will go on until about 8pm or later....i will be exhausted but it will be a blast
umm development wise Tallon has 6 teeth now (the top four having come through together in the last two weeks) can cruise any furniture but seems to have a lazy foot. Am going the Dr's next week for his vacs so will ask him about it then....he steps with one foot but then drags the other one...little bit worried but whatever happens we'll work it out. xoxo
Happy birthday too to anyone i missed....gosh remembering back this time last year birth announcements left right and centre! how the time has flown
HAPPY BIRTHDAY to all the bubs who have turned 1!! **** how time flys!!
Im at work so this will be fast!
Bella will be one in 2 weeks! EEEKKK! Where did my little bubba go? She is nearly walking - im giving her a week or so and she will be walking by her self! She takes steps now but mostly likes to walk on the furnitire and will walk with us but now she only needs to hold one hand! I will know im alive then!
She has 8 teeth with another 2 about to come through!
She has started waking through the night for a bottle and usually goes straight back to sleep, she only has 2 bottles during the day - will NOT have one at lunch,so only morning and tea. This will be our last tin of formula and she is on 1/2 cows and 1/2 formula so after this tin it will be straight cows milk! Will be so much easier!
I have a heap of things planned for her party and we have about 30 kids and adults coming so should be a good day!
Happy Birthday Tallon and congrats on doing 12 months of breast feeding. Have a great time on the weekend.
Kate, Bella sounds like she is doing well. I think we are at the same stage as you. 8 teeth and the 2 bottom molars coming through. Yesterday and last night she has had a temp, chewing her fingers, tugging her ears. We were up from 1am til 330 with her crying Poor little mite. She is also waking again for a feed over night..eeew. She cruises the furniture too and took her first 2 steps on her birthday. She wont stand on her own...why shoud she? She has me to hang off!!! However if we let her go she will stand for a bit or attempt a step...but she likes to cling to my leg! We had her party yesterday and it poured. At least our water tank is full!
All is good otherwise....back in the ttw on the ttc front. We were going to give this cycle a skip, but I kinda changed my mind!!!
Happy Birthday Tallon, hope you have a great day. Smoz - congrats on the breast feeding. You have done soooo well. Good luck for when you get Tallon's foot checked. Hopefully it is only something minor.
Kate - Bella sounds like she will have a good time at her party with all those people coming. Lara is starting to take steps on her own but still furniture walking like mad. She will walk with us holding one hand too.
Melissa - Good luck ttc this month, when are you due to ovulate? Can't wait until its test time!!!
What is everyone getting their bubs for xmas? I have Cadence's presents sorted but poor Lara, she hasnt got much. Its kind've hard having their birthdays close to xmas.
Leigh...I just ovulated over the weekend So I am due for af around the 6th December. As for chrissy presents, we are getting them matching pink 3 wheeler motorbikes. We have an old one from bil's kids but its broken and Olivia loves it, so we thought we would get them one each. Clothes, not sure..... I was hoping to get her swimming lessons or gymbaroo pass. Shoes....its hard when they are the same sex and so close together. I havent had to get much at all!
Nothing much to report here, just popping in to say hi really and to see how everyone is going. It is so hot up here. Lara has only had 30 mins sleep today so I just put her back in her cot for another. She protested for a while but is quiet now. I know if she doesnt have another small sleep she will be feral by bed time.
Melissa - Not long til AF is due. Have you started testing yet? Good luck, can't wait to hear how you get on.
Not long til xmas, I am still not prepared. Better get my bum into gear while DD1 is at kindy this week. She is such a stickybeak if I take her shopping with me. She has already found some of her hidden xmas presents. I have had to lie to her and tell her they are for her cousin. Lucky she believed me.
Happy birthday to all the bubbies that have turned one! It's so exciting, I love it!
DD is doing well, we are trying to wean off day bottles, she didnt have any bottles at all today, but she still has 2 overnight. Which is a pain. My Mum minds her 2 days a week and still gives her a morning bottle to send her to sleep and I don't mind that, whatever is easier for my Mum. Might do the half formula half cows milk though. ATM Im giving her the toddler 1-3 yr formula.
Mel- woohoo test time soon?? Did you work out about going back to work and getting a nanny? Yep, I'm a nanny and you sure can get a nanny for those hours. I know a few agencies which are good, but the best way to find a nanny I would suggest is to go to a website . If you want the name PM me, you probably have already heard of it.
I'm working two full days next year with the family who your hubby knows, looking forward to that although it is a trek....maybe you could come over to their house for a playdate some time!
Leigh Im not sure about christmas but I have a few small presents for DD!
Kate is DD still waking at night for a bottle? I have no idea how to wean off those and to be honest, it is much easier to just give her a bottle and go back to bed!
Hi smoz, Mellys bubby belly and anyone else I missed!
Have to go get ready for work tomorow, leaving here at 6.20am!
Just a quick one before bed!
Happy Birthday to all the bubs!! We have Bellas party on Sunday arvo - she is 1 on the 8th! Not long now! I cant belive she is nearly 1! Better get cracking on the 2nd lol!
Bella is still a bit hit and miss with waking in the night - she did last night but hasnt for a week or so - I dont really mind - I think I am just used to less sleep these days so it doesnt phase me that much!!
Bella has 8 teeth and I can feel a lump and I think a molar is coming!! Manybe not but thats what it feels and she has been tugging at her ears alot and dribbling again like crazy! Time will tell.
Bella is now on all cows milk! yay No more formula!! Its great and sooooo much cheaper and she is going reallay well with it. She only have a bottle in the morning and one after tea b4 bed most days unless she has one over night. She loves food and is eating what ever we have now - like my mums lamb roast tonight!!
Hi girls, I am 9dpo....and I havent tested yet! Af is due on Saturday. So i'll see how I go!
Skye...where abouts do you live? Your work is on the other side of the city if I remember rightly. Yuck on leaving that early. Sure that would be great if you could send me the web site. I have kind of forgotten about working with birthdays and christmas coming up! However I will have to do some to keep up my nursing rego.
As for the bottles, we are on full cows milk coz Miss Rebecca is a good eater so I dont see the need to have her on formula. We are hit and miss with the bottles, some days she will have 2 some days 4... shes still up for a feed most nights. I was planning on cutting her bottles out by her 1st b'day but I am too reliant on them to help her nod off! I got Olivia off bottles at 2yrs. She was probably having 2 a day then, but as soon as I stopped her having a bottle, her appetite dramatically increased! I have to get on to the bottle issue soon! Not in a hurry though.
Kate- bec is getting her molars, the two bottom ones. Shes been tugging away at her ears and chewing her fingers. Shes so irritable, so much so my neighbours were going to come over and save me!!! I got there first though!
Leigh I have to do the xmas shopping too before the girls finish day care otherwise Olivia will want it now! We are getting a few small pressies and hoping to get a big wooden cubby house off ebay.
Take care
