ewww at the yogurt smelling burps!! I hope she settles better tonight for you.

The ball pit thingo was posted somewhere on BB a little while ago & dismissed as an urban myth. Still scary! I think in America where the McD's have ball pits is where it was supposed to take place. I honestly haven't seen any grotty ball pits here in Australia, or any that are out in the open.... Matilda goes in the ball room at Ikea & loves it.

Tara *hugs* I SSSOOOO know what you mean. I had that exact freak out last weekend on our way home from holidays. DH went out to a 2 hour lunch on the weekend & I got so angry with him. I mean he gets to go out for lunch everyday at work!!! I can't even wee without protests. With Matilda's escapism antics & Jovie not sleeping, I don't get a break at all. Even being on here, typing this post I've been interrupted twice!!

Christy I knoooowww!!! it just makes me cranky! dh works shift work and says he needs a nap in the afternoon before driving all the way back to work so he doesnt fall asleep while driving...well i'm worried i'm going to fall asleep while look after evie/eating/cooking/peeing/typing/putting evie to sleep/having a shower/getting dressed...you know!!
Well evie's got a beautiful dose of the cold. i have never seen her this sick. i gave her some dimetapp and then about an hour later was getting her bath ready, she sat in her highchair watching me and her eyes kept rolling back, while she was in the bath i gave her some panadol as she has a temp and she just threw it right back up again. she's finally in bed but is so unsettled, her nose is runny and blocked and she's having so much trouble breathing...i think we're in for a bad night!
BTW I looked up the ball-pit thing. it's a hoax. why would people bother with that crap? some people are so sick

    I was shocked reading this.
I told DH about it and he did some research... He found out it was an urban legend... google snopes

But it makes you think that you've gotta be careful about some public play areas.

Tara - poor bubba girl, I hope she is ok. Aston has a cold too at the moment, AGAIN, much to my dismay. He constantly woke himself up coughing last night, and all he wanted to do was be asleep, poor darlin. I have propped his matteress up tonight, and that seems to be helping so far - that plus fess, nurofen, and a decongestant. Roll on the warmer weather say I!

time to yourself - you have to be joking!! I had a girlfriend come and look after Aston do I could have time to myself. For some reason it doesn't occur to DH that having a break means having a break from ALL of the kids... on the other hand, I haven't been that insistant about it either...maybe I should.

Jols - I hope you have a better nigth with Sophie tonight, they get so tired and crabby in the day when they don't get good sleep dont they? That's how aston was today, overtired, and over himself.

Nelly, Aston's nose is better, now he is coughing - and has cut another tooth. Not eating very much, but I remember you all saying that Bub went off eating when they were cutting teeth. I should remember having two others, but its too long ago!

Hi Robyn, Meredith, Kim, Blanche and WB Olivia Look forward to hearing how Lugh is doing.

    Take care all...

hello Nov 06 mummies - i lost this thread for a bit, but now i've found you again!

KIMBAZ - ouch for your back, it's so scary when something you take for granted, suddenly goes on you like that.

i have some good news re my dh and his being "sacked when they don't use the word sacked". He put in a claim to Workcover for his work injury, and i have no idea how they did it, but somehow, Workcover has changed dh's employer from being totally awful to dh to now being really nice! So all of a sudden, they have made the workplace safe for him, will co-operate and agree to dh coming in for two hours of work, have a rest, then do two more hours of work, and have found "light duties" for him to do, that don't involve lifting. So this is a HUGE relief to us. Dh has found a pain management system that suits his body (took him weeks of experiments to find it) and will start seeing a physio on MOnday. Workcover accepted his claim and we are SO relieved!!!

baby wise, tiny bilby is finally eating about three icecubes worth of pureed fruit and custard, once a day. For ages, she couldn't work out about swallowing, and then suddenly , she just got the idea. No teeth, no words, tiny bit of backwards movement, but nothing you could actually call crawling, just loads of push ups and exploring with leg positions. Still no playgroup, we hardly leave the house. Started seeing a psychologist for PND, i completely forgot to go to the 2nd session and the therapist got so annoyed with me, so no more sessions. There was only six sessions anyway.

Maybe a month ago now, tiny bilby got dehydrated when i had gastro really really badly, and i had to put her on formula - bought a very expensive tin of forumla at chemist in desperation - she only consumed 50ml of it!!! The last time i was THAT ill, was when i backpacked in India 20 years ago and got Delhi Belly. Really scared me to have my milk dry up and lose 3kg in one night. Amazingly, tiny bilby did not get the gastro bug.

Time to yourself - i feel resigned that i gave that up when i had tiny bilby and especially the b/f commitment, she gets thirsty every couple of hours. Today i wanted to go to the Central Market to stock up on roo meat, which i haven't bought for several months (been so worried that dh would have no job) and i suddenly felt resentful that i knew i couldn't go just me and bubs, and dh couldn't come with me. (I can get me and bilby THERE but then while i 'm pushing the stroller, i don't have two hands free for the shopping cart and the heavy meat.) I had the impulse of "I wanna run away and just do something so basic, like get meat for our freezer, it's not even like i want to go see a movie or something indulgent!".

HI Gigi, good to see you back. Great news about DH. look forward to hearing more about tiny bilby.

Men SUCK! sorry, just had to get that out! My turn to be frustrated with my DH. Must be something in the moon! I swear sometimes I could hit him with a brick and he still wouldn't get it....arghhhhh.

Vicky - what's up? get it off yer chest...

I'm pretty lucky these days with my man. DH has been doing late nights and early mornings at work for the few days and felt guilty. So on Friday night I got flowers. He's been missing Ella so much. Sometimes i forget how hard it is for them to leave in the morning and have me call and say ...she just rolled, or...she just said "dada"... He loves Ella so much sometime i spy him looking at her with a tear in his eye
