lol Kim it feels like heaps. We started it a few months before Jovie was born when Matilda was 2... doing it that way & it does pay off. BUT pick your battle or you will spend all day in there! We call it the "thinking spot" rather than the naughty chair but take your pick. The thing is to not talk too much, just say it and walk away and ignore the back chat etc... sometimes it may be them stomping or kicking the chair whatever, just ignore it. Atm Matilda screams "I don't like you anymore" and we ignore it. The more you talk, the more you get back.... deep breaths....

I'm pretty sure Triple P has some techniques on their website. If I find the link, I will PM you.

I used to love watching supernanny so have seen her do that many many times, i think thats the thing - staying sane while doing it. not only that but i feel so sad that so much of my time gets taken up doing this that poor chi-chi is left on his mat...busying himself. but i guess that once i get this 'thinking spot' down, it will take less time.
I agree with you Vicky, i want her room to be a sleepy and safe place too, i know exactly what you mean. especially since she's just started sleeping thru and going to sleep on her own!
lol evie calls weet-bix 'weet-pips' lol hours of fun making her say it over and over!

    hey ho
naughty spot works for us as well - just keep persevering but there will be days it all goes to the dogs. That's when we go outside and burn off some energy.
Jake started at his new daycare last week and for the first time ever has been hysterical everytime I drop him off. I have been staying for about an hour to make sure he settles ok but as soon as I leave he loses it. I know it's a combination of us being away for a week and new environment but it upsets me so much and I walk out sobbing - damn pregnancy hormones....
Spent the weekend at Bundaberg - was invited to do a party up there with an old customer so we decided to make a family weekend of it to ensure the trip was worth my while. As it was the party was a bit crap but was great to catch up with her and we spent the weekend on the beach and playing.
Happy birthdays Jols and Sophie - and I know I will miss people so anyone I have missed so far.
Christy I think tmrw is the day you leave - good luck I hope all goes ok for you xxxxx

hehe kim shes a mixture cos she really looks like DH!!!!

been at teh outlaws lat night got back today! man i hate travelling with a two yr ol! thanks goodness for DVD players~!~!!

for decipline...mmmm i guessing im sort of lucky so far to have a pretty mellow kid (i know my time WILL come) we dont need to decipline too much, i find warning s work well to prevent tantrrums etc... i let sophie know what is happening next i.e at the park i tell her one for slide and were going etc... one more book with daddy then time tobrush teeth, works well so far!
i agree with vicky and christy that persistance is the key, if you give up after a day she'll know your a push over!! were struggling a little with the big bed but getting better, no as much crying and shiorter time getting to sleep.
i agree opick your battles, ours is the big bed, i have rails down on whole side so sophie cant get out, i figure getting her to sleep there is the first battle i'll deal with teh rails later!

    Hi Everyone

Zander will be 2 on the 28th of November.....we are having some very trying times at the moment with his behaviour eg. tantrums/screaming/crying/not eating what he doesnt want to eat....things seem like they are going good and then we hit a hurdle

Anyway thanks tigger for the warm welcome....I am in a local thread where I live as I dont know many people but heaps of new people have joined the thread and older people faded away and there doesnt really seem to be much going on in there......so here I am

Well done Chels on the big bed Great work Kim

Blanche mate PND is hard. I know with Matilda, I went to the GP ad sat down... and started crying. Zoloft worked very well for me.

    YAY for your scan nelly!

    Welcome Nicola

Jols - I love your belly

Me: well we are in our house.... sort of. It took us 3 days to drive down here. In the meantime our removalists never turned up. They did, but 30 hours after they were supposed too, and they didn't answer their phone!! So finally they turn up. In our initial quote they said delivery within 24 - 48 hours... wellll... our stuff will get here on Saturday To top it all off, I'm sick. I got a mother of a cold that started yesterday & have been in bed (well... we don't have a bed but I'm using a friends air mattress) today.

    Hi Everyone

Thought I might actually write a bit about myself so Im not some strange person lurking....

I live in Townsville with hubby and the boys..we moved here for hubbys work when bub was 3mnths and Zan 15mnths so we dont have any family or friends here as they live in Brisbane which has been hard at times, especially if we want or need some time out on our own.

I have had some bad days that I know have bordered on depression (past history of depression)and even Psychosis related thoughts (which I put down to not sleeping for 8mnths)I think I have been strong and although its not recommended I have worked through the issues myself as I didnt know where to go in a new town and had enough faith in myself that I wouldnt hurt myself or my kids. Each day does get better..we had issues with Wyatt(bub) from birth with reflux/allergies/and not sleeping longer than 4 hours at a time until he was 8mnths old - breastfed till 10mnths now on Neocate allergy formula.

I was also on the Implanon implant to prevent 3 bubs under 2!!! I had the implanon taken out a few weeks ago as it wasnt agreeing with me. I have also joined a gym....it was damn hard joining up as I havnt done any fitness or had any motivation to do exercise for the past 10yrs!! Now I need to keep going ha ha

Some days I still feel like doing a runner somewhere on my own (especially in the middle of a tantrum and when both boys decide to simultaneously scream) but overall I love being a mum and wouldnt want to be doing anything else at the moment

Thanks for sharing Nicola. I hear you on wanting to run away when 2 kids scream together....its a common thing in this house these days....Jasmine has found her new self and now has an attitude (she is only 1 year 2 weeks old) and then Chelsea...well she is miss tantrum queen and miss attitude to the max! It will be fun come January dealing with a newborn as well!

    I love the name Zander!

Is it bad Chelsea still isnt on cows milk??
In her bottles (2 a day) she has 100ml water, 100ml cows milk and 2 scoops formula....

I have a check up for both girls next week and the white lie of 'No Chelsea isnt on bottles anymore' will be put in place....im sick of gettin my butt kicked!

Jovie still has a bottle at night, my good friends little man is 6 months older and still on 3-4 bottles a day!! So don't listen to the bottle nazi.

Nicola I hear ya about the runner!!! Sometimes I look out the window and think about just walking out... I wouldn't but its fun to entertain the thought.

Horror day here.....the earlier i put my girls to bed at night..the worst they are through the day....no more early bed times for them. In saying that, Craig put Chelsea to bed at 750 tonight cos she asked to go! I went out to the movies, gold class...had a nice time!

Its past midnight here (i know not yet in WA Blanche..) but i thought id post while i remembered:

    Happy 2nd Birthday Emelia

I hope you have a great day Sweetheart!!
