hope your flight goes well TaraLee and good luck with your move
poor chino (reaction to Evie's milk).
bilby has just been offered one day a week at a childcare centre in our neighbourhood with so many things that i like
- cc workers who play musical instruments
- wooden and metal play equipment (not just plastic)
- six chooks, a guineagpid and rabbit - the kids collect eggs for the CCC cook who makes them into muffins etc
- some male CC workers (first centre i've seen that employs males)
- nature activity tables (like the Steiner seasonal tables)
- a created "creek bottom" with logs and boulders to give "mucky play" experiences, as much as you can get in a city that's in drought most of the time but heh, it still is fun
- dance floor and dance music played regularly to encourage little boppers (like bilby is ha ha)
- kids are encouraged to take own plates and scrap them clean after snacktimes and lunch
- real grass (not artifical)
- herb mandala, vegie garden, shady big trees
So many things and experiences i cannot give her in our tiny unit and non-usable back yard, i am so RAPT.
we've been on the waiting list for months and months, i am so excited that our name came up finally. bilby will still be going to the other ccc as well, until more days come up with the "chickens" ccc - that's what i call it for bilby, she wouldn't understand it if i said the name of a suburb.
Im still hanging in there....really uncomfortable..not sleeping that great whinging all the time and constantly tired......yawn lol
Im totally paranoid about swine flu but doing my best to avoid crowds and only going out when I have too.
Tara have you got a script for neocate now???? I just got another for Wyatt which will take us till he is over 2yrs and then the paed wants to try him on Soy.
I have jumped in on another forum for people with bubs due around the same time as me most of them are 1st time mums so it takes me back a couple of years to when we had all those anxieties and worries about our impending births..and it makes you realise how quickly pregnancy goes and how fast our kids grow up, even though at the time it seems an eternity.
LOL nicola i try to avoid anything to do with new new babies...i dont want to get clucky again!!!!
Paediatrician appt this afternoon and its Chi's birthday today!
Gigi- that ccc sounds excellent!! hope that all goes well, its a shame that more centres arent like that
*SIGH* so paediatrician ordered a blood test and said we'll probably get him on soy instead. and waggled his finger at me for starting him on milk at 10.5months instead of 12. WTF?!?!?
anyways, chi ate a nice big plain pasta dinner tonight then i gave him a bf before dinner and he vomited so badly it was like a fire hydrant going off
so, i get test results on monday
what a ***** of a mummy taking him for a blood test on his birthday!!
Thanks for the birthday wishes everyone - love, chino xx
oh nicola, i just noticed your ticker pic....it is beautiful!! (and when i say 'it' i am referring to the pic, not calling your baby an 'it') lol i mean she is beautiful oh haha shut up taralee and go to bed hahaha
oh god had a serious bad mummy moment tonight ....
both kids irritable, DS has been whingey all afternoon, tonight DH is late & all this week or away overnighter for work ... after bath trying to dress DD everytime I put her down she cries, DS was going on and on and not listening or doing as I asked him so after asking him over and over again I lost my temper. Instead of putting one of us in time out to cool off I yelled so at the end of it all 3 of us were in tears. farkle farkle farkle then DS makes me feel even worse by giving me big hugs and "kissing you better mummy" so I cried again poor DH comes home to teary family *sigh*
banging my head against the wall can't seem to get DD to nap at all during the day. I miss her cues bcos I am busy with DS and so I then leave it too late she is currently only sleeping during the day if we go somewhere in the car and she drops off then. farkle farkle farkle

hugs to you Nelly, you're human lovey! how cute of Jake, to try and make you feel better.
Tara - how frustrating for you and CHino.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHINO! have a wonderful day!
today was bilby's daddy's birthday. we know each other so little now, i had no clue what to get him, remembered yesterday (just when i had just about given up), he has been saying "can't find Watsonia cheese anywhere" last few times we've been in a supermarket at the same time. He's a real meat and 3 veg kinda guy, so for him to even know the name of a cheese, speaks volumes. so in desperation, yesterday i took bilby to the Central Market, the only place that i know i can guarantee finding smallgoods speciality cheese shops. i bought him an entire round of Watsonia cheese. think it qualifies as the strangest gift i have ever bought! and guess what? he was rapt by that!!
so i made myself decorate a bought sponge cake (whipped cream, strawb jam and sliced strawberries), put a gazillion candles on it, wrapped the cheese, made a very basic handmade card from bilby to him. Normally i love doing birthday surprises, but this was a real effort, i did it purely for bilby's sake. i haven't kissed him for so long, i coudln't even make myself kiss him Happy birthday.
it's been so long since we opened a bottle of wine here, i coudln't even find the waiter's friend thingy to open the bottle. Not even half a bottle of Botryitis could make me feel like giving him a birthday kiss.
Oh Gigi...how weird for you...I would of flagged the whole kiss thought..you are doing well for hangng in there
Nelly - stressfull days/tiredness/emotional breakdowns are a common thing in this house and I dont even want to think how Im going to cope with 2 toddlers and a new born.....people are saying are you excited....ummm......no.....Im anxious
