HJ- That is too cute!!! Hehe! Checking out photos of all her boy friends on BB!!! ;) Those spews are gross aren't they! I freaked the first time Isabelle did one, but James has stopped doing massive ones now thank goodness- there was a time it was one per feed -= so frustrating having to change both of us after every feed!! As far as rolling goes - don't stress too much yet! Our bubs are only 2 mths old - just give her loads of time on her back to play and tummy time too. James hates tummy time - I think all bubs do initally, but I just put him on his tummy around 4 times a day until he cries - sometimes he does a few minutes sometimes its only 30 seconds!!! He isn't really rolling yet either - I can't count when he is on the bed or somewhere soft and loses balance! :) I think Izzy was 4 mths when she first rolled, 6 mths crawling and 10 mths walking so it can happen fast!!
Olivesmummy - You are doing a great job hun, BF'ing is so hard sometimes but hang in there - it really does get easier... I struggled for 4 months with Izzy (you probably don't want to hear that!) but I'm so glad I kept going. Take each day as it comes - as you said, each day is different and bummer about AF hun - I never got AF back, and I got pg with James! :D I wasn't on the mini pill though but am definitely proof that exclusive breastfeeding isn't foolproof contraception!!
Hollye- Glad to hear Mia is healthy and you are doing well hun! :)
We just spent the morning at the Warrandyte Christmas market and then walked by the river to the playground. It is FINALLY a beautiful 24 degrees here - sunny and just gorgeous!! About time - improves my moods dramatically when the sun comes out!! Enjoy the rest of your day girls!

someone... anyone.... please try and answer my question.. https://www.bellybelly.com.au/forums...ping-area.html
-
Hollye - im glad all went well at the Docs!!!
As for u question on Eucalyptus oil - i read that u can't use it on babies under 2mths of age - but couldn't find anything on whether u can put is on their bed or anything! however u can put a few drops in hot water and leave it nearby where is wont get knocked over or anything and that will help!
Don't know if i have helped u at all tho! hehehe
Tan - ewww poor u - i think one of those spews is well and truely enough - can't imagine having to go thru that after every feed! thanks goodness James isnt doing it anymore!
Bianca must be a weird baby - she LOVES tummy time! has it everyday - she actually likes it more than being on her back!
It was so funny watching her rolling over from belly to back today cause now that she is in cloth nappies she is a little bottom heavy so its a bit harder! but really funny to watch! how cruel are we?! she was exhausted after doing it 3 times!
We tried to get her to do back to belly but thats not quite happening yet, but yeah she will get there eventually! She amazes us at how well she holds her head up tho!
How cleaver is Izzy - i hope B is walking at 10mths! i plan to start toilet training as soon as B is walking so the earlier the better - hehehe - not looking forward to the toilet training tho - that is not going to be fun - so i guess maybe she should hold of on the walking thing for longer!
Olive'smummy - good work on perservering for so long with the breastfeeding! im proud of u - i wish i had of just tried a bit longer to stick with it - oh well there is always next time ;)
Sucks having AF back dosent it? mine came back on monday i think it was - now its gone again - only to come back in a mths time!! ahhhhh it starts all over again!
But i would soooo keep on taking that mini pill if i was u - unless u want another bub!!! hehehe
On a more personal note - DH and i DTD for 2nd time last night - and this time it hurt more than the 1st time??????? what is with that? i dont think it should of cause i had, had a few drinks last night, first time in AGES i have felt a fair bit tipsy (if it wasnt for Bianca i might of had a few more) wouldnt u think with a few drinks u would be more relaxed so it shouldn't hurt more? Anyways that just my thought for the day! hahaha sorry for the info!
-
Great tip Hollye, thanks. I've started it already. Liam doesn't like it on his tummy much either, which I figure is partly why he's not rolling yet.
HJ - I'd consider moving to Bisvegas except DH hates big cities. I figure if I can get him to the Sunny Coast he'll realise its basically the same and we can get to a city then if we want. :shhh: But we'd try to get to Melany or something to have the best of both worlds to suit us both.
Tan - it has FINALLY cooled down to only 24 degrees here. hehe - sorry, most of my family's in Melb so I know how bad its been.
BTW I can't recommend BabyBeehinds highly enough (not that Iv used any others.. :) ). They're about $25 each (cheaper in a package, just ask for what you want & they'll do one up), they last the whole way thru - newborn to toddler. They have snap fasteners set up so they can change with their size. They're made of bamboo fibres so super absorbant and sooooo soft. You have a choice of inserts depending on how much padding you think you need. We got the 'little squirt' too so you just wash any poos down the toilet - its basically a squrter hose connected to your toilet system. If they're just wet you just throw them in the nappy bucket, which fills in 2 days and you wash them in a regular load then. The only drawback is they can be slow to dry. We have no probs here, but if you have a dryer you can use that when you need to. We don't have 'leaks', we dont have to change him any more often... and they're really cute! If they weren't this easy i wouldnt have bothered.
Olivesmummy - i've thought before Olive and Liam seem to be pretty similar in what they are/are not doing.
Gotta go. Crazy chrissy shopping calls. Wish me luck. ;)
-
1stbub-How many nappies do you have? We are just doing flats during the day (and sposies at night) and i have just got some bbh magicalls (the minky ones-soooo cute!) but they take AGES to dry! Which ones do you have? Do they last the night? Sorry for attacking you with nappy questions!!
Should my boy be rolling yet? Cos he's not! He is just getting used to tummy time. I forgot who said their bub doesn't like tummy time...but what helped us was putting him on a tri-pillow so he is 'propped-up' a bit more and he likes that.
Hi to everyone else, gotta go do bath stuff!
-
Hi Girls,
Lara isnt rolling yet either but DD1 didn't til she was about 4 months I think. In a way I am kind of glad she isnt rolling yet coz I know she wont roll off the bed or anything just yet.
HJ - DH and I DTD last night for the 3rd time and it still hurt but got better. Jeez hope it doesnt take too long to get back to normal. I never had any pain DTD after DD1 so dunno what the go is this time.
Tan - your cards are fantastic. Glad you got some rest while Izzy was at your mums.
Better go, hi to all the mums and bubs.
Have a great weekend
-
Tan- just to let you know, I tried out a Mandy Macs nappy yesterday and I thought it was great! They are cheap nappies compared to the others (but not as colourful) and they don't take as long to dry as my other fitteds and they are OSFM! I think I'm going to buy a lot more of these ones...when DH isen't looking! haha
Its finally nice weather..two days in a row something must be wrong! Good old Melbourne!! We are off to do Christmas with half of the family today! I hope everyone is having a nice Sunday! :D
-
THanks for the info 1stbub - we don't have a drier so I do worry about how long they will take but it might just mean that I have to get more!!!! I was also trying to get away with AIOs rather than having to get covers too but I have heard the BBH are great so might get one to try as well!!
Leigh - Thanks!! As far as DTD goes - if you are b'fing your oestrogen can be a bit low (and after pregnancy in general) and that can make it really dry and sore. :( I can't DTD at all and had a c/s but have some cream for it that Im too scared to use because one side affect can be reduced milk supply - definitely not a risk Im willing to take right now.
HJ - NOOOOOOOO you don't want an early walker!!!!!! Trust me Im letting James take as long as possible because once they start that's it!!!!! You spend all day chasing them!!
We had a late night last night -well late for Izzy! She didn't go to bed til 9 and spent the WHOLE 40 min trip home from friends crying for "nigh nigh's bed nigh nighs bed!!!" Poor love. She slept in though thank goodness and gave us both a break! Off to take her to the park before it gets too hot!! Have a great day all!
-
hippie - they need a cover too don't they??! Im so clueless right now -there are so many to choose from!
-
Yeah they do, would be great if they didn't!

Hi guys,
Sorry i haven't been in for ages but we are all sick with a rotten cold. Logan also has a snuffly nose and his voice sounds really croaky, but i don't think that he has the sore throat that i had as he is drinking really well. I feel crap :( I hope that it all clears up by christmas. Last night Logan screamed for 2 hours - full on red faced screams it was horrible. I ended up putting him in the car and driving for a bit (DH was at a bucks party) and that seemed to do the trick. Will pop back in when i am feeling better and things quiet down a bit - what a busy time of year!!!
Cheers,
Kylie

Hippiemummy - we got just 25 and haven't needed any more (but in melbs you might need a few extra in case of bad weather). We got the bamboo...um, not the AIO's. :) (i don't know what they call them). In the early days we had a few night time 'leaks', which must have been just because the fit wasn't great - we have no issues now at all. If you do have issues, they have night things that go between the nappy and cover to give extra protection - we've never used them. He's had some substantial 'poo-splosions' too  which at worst have managed to come out the leg onto the inside of the cover a little, but never outside the cover, which I was very impressed with.
No probs with all the Q's, I haven't had much chance to talk about them with anyone so am happy to tell you all about them!!
What part of Melb are you in? My family is around Boronia area.
Tan - the reason we didn't get AIO's is coz you need to keep buying new sets to fit (and we're cheapstakes. :rotflol:). Are there any AIO's where that isn't the case? The covers don't cause any drama's for us. It's just another 2 seconds on a nappy change, and they're still cute (but not as cute as the nappy itself!). We are finding he's moving out of clothes sizes quicker coz they have to fit around his bum. :)
Leigh - good to hear DD1 didn't roll till 4 months, makes me feel better about it. And I KNOW once he's up and moving I'm gonna have my work cut out for me!!!
Hi Kylie, sorry to hear about your cold. Hope you and Logan are feeling better by Christmas.
Hi to everyone else! :D
-
1stbub - there are a few AIO's that are one size too - Green Kids and Bum Genius! I am now looking at pockets too!! Haha! I have my list narrowed down to 5 so I need to cull one! I didn't hink about clothing - eek! I suppose their butts are much bigger with the nappy on! James is still in 000 even though he is nearly 6 kgs - is Liam in 00 already??
Kylie - I hope Logan gets better for you soon hun. It's horrible when they are sick.:( Seems to be going around though - James and Izzy have just gotten over it.
I'm about to put in my MCN order - :leap: Very excited!!!! Can't wait to get them and test them out!! Hope you all have a good week - might be a bit busy to be around much like everyone else. I have MG tomorrow morning though should be great - 34 degrees here tomorrow! Bring it on! I LOVE summer! :) Chat soon all!
-
It depends a lot on the brand. Pumkin patch he's in 00. I feel like we're stubbornly squeezing him into some of the 000 in other brands.
Pockets?! For his mobile phone? ;)

Oh wow watta day. I think Mia is going through another growth spurt. She just couldnt seem to get past that "light sleep" stage into a deep sleep today and it was taking 2+ hours to get her to get into a deep sleep. So when she woke she was cranky coz she was still tired but she woke coz she was hungry. One of her bottles today she downed the whole 180mls too which is also unlike her. I hope this doesnt go on for 2 long... i got nothing done today coz i was laying with her constantly. Lucky DP was home and did like 5 loads of washing for me.
Her 8 week check up is tomorrow at 2:30pm. Im sure shes about 5.3 kilos atm. Even though shes getting heavier 90% of her clothes are still 0000 (except the wondersuits). Tho she is only about 52 cm so mayb thats why? Shes a chubba but still quite petite. Shes gonna have DP's build i think.. skin and bone. Oh well..
Look at all u girls and ur MCN's! i wouldnt be able to do it so i take my hat off to u.. i find it hard enough keeping up with all her washing.
anyhoo off to wash bottles and then i might go crawl into bed. mwah xoxoxo
-
Awww Hollye - Mia is such a wee thing! James was 54 cms at birth! I still can't believe how big he was - I'm only 5'1 and DH isn't tall at all! No wonder I was so HUGE at the end of pregnancy! I love your ticker pic too!
1stbub - Mobile phone!!!! Hahaha! I think only one of the ones I got have pockets but Im still getting my head around inserts etc!!! There are 2 great sites that I used, I got the 4 from nurturechild and used the darlingsdownunder site as well - I think I will get my next lot from them! :) Im already talking next lot - :) and haven't even tried the first lot yet! I got a Green Kids, BabyBeehinds magicall, Cushies, and a BumGenuis as well! Can't wait to get them!
Well off to mothers group today and then clean clean clean for Christmas day! We have DH's family here for dinner. We all share the cooking -well the girls do anyway! so it's not too hard but I want the house looking a bit tidier! Mums going to come and look after Izzy for me while I clean tomorrow! Still have a teeny bit of shopping to go as well - might brave the shops tomorrow and I need to take the kids to get their immunisations now that they are both over their colds. I was going to wait til after Xmas but then we might be going away etc. so fingers crossed they don't get affected too much.
Have a great day ladies chat later!
-
hello, all this talk about cloth nappies is making me envious!! I have been doing mt research and trying to talk dp into it, showing him all the websites online etc, but I think he is scared he wont know what to do with them and when I started talking about the little squirt well, he went a little green around the gills!!
Jacob has been sooo good the past few nights, sleeping for 5-6 hr stretches, I think he was very tired last night, we spent the afternoon at the beach (me and him in the shade all the time!) when the sun started going down I took him down to the water and dipped his toes in, dont think he was very impressed.
on a sadder note, dps nanna passed away on the 17th, the funeral is today, not looking forward to it at all. Dps siblings are all a bit miffed (as am I ) that the fact she was so ill was kept a secret from us for so long, we only knew for 3 wks before she died. She only got to see Jacob once.
I still have heaps of xmas shopping to do, but it will have to wait till tomorrow, too much on today, the shops will probably be absolutely mental......
hope you all have a fantastic day and lots of hugs to all and your bubs, sorry no personals but I will amke more of an effort to catch up later.
xxx

Sorry to hear about DP's nanna - such a sad time of year hun.
Do what I did and convince DP that you can buy 4-5 nappies, trial them and if they don't work out well there are plenty of girls on BB who will buy them back! :)
