Hi all been extremely busy in the past few days and had a very sad weekend this weekend. We took our cat to the Vet on Friday as he had lost a lot of weight and we got a call yesterday morning at 8am and they said that he had really bad kidney disease and maybe bone marrow cancer so we had to make the hard decision to put him to sleep and then explain to the older boys that he wouldn't be coming home. It was such a sad day.
Julian has decided that he will roll over when he is sleeping and then wakes up screaming that he is on his belly and the last two nights he has been waking at strange hours in the early morning and then wanting a feed which is unusual and he won't resettle he wants a feed and he wants it now .
Didi I'm going to try and hold off until Julian is 6mths to start solids but will re assess if he starts showing signs, birth control absteince, lol, other then that nothing, and if I can talk DH into having No 6 will start trying maybe April next year.
Hollye teeth can start moving early and come up and down for months before they break throught the gum, Julian's have been moving around as he has been drooling heaps and I can feel his two eye teeth on the hop.
Hi girls. Just a quick one today. Want to get some sleep b4 tomorrow since cyclone Hamish is supposed to hit land right at about...Hervey Bay. They're talking about evacuations for a huge amount of houses because of the expected sea surge. Not sure if we'll have to since we're in one of the fewer higher up places, but think i might be tempted to anyway with Liam - especially since my grandparents are groundskeepers at one of the evac places. DH will probably stay here though.
AJ - really sorry about your cat. It sounds similar to what my cat had when i had to put her down (years ago, but they are part of the family so you never forget). How'd the boys take it?
OM - how cute does Olive sound in her little dress!!! Please put pics up when you get a chance!
Didi - I've started solids. He just has about 1tbs a day still. He tried avo today and liked it which i was pleased with. I had every intention of holding out (who needs more work), but he just seemed ready.
Contraception = nil. We're hoping to have our 2nd pretty close, although I'm hoping not too soon as suggested by my doc after my c/s, but whatever happens happens - never liked the idea of timing cycles or anything so that leaves it all wide open.
Just a quick one gotta get B and myself ready to see a friend i havent seen in 9yrs! should be interesting!
Hope all the bubba's are doing well!
Hollye - i havent lost any weight - had actually lost .3 when i weighed myself yesterday but went to a BBQ and the food was too good! how bad am i! so i acutally ended up putting that back on - thank god that it wast .4 - i think someone was letting me off lightly to teach me a lesson! so this week im going to work extra hard - my goal is too lose 1kg in a week! good luck with ur weigh in!
I think we all should set a goal on what we want to lose this week and see if we can all achieve it!
I wanna lose 1kg this week!!!!!!!!
No weighloss here this week. Too much yummy wedding food! I'm still the same weight though so thats good. I'm actually feeling ok about my weight as I put on 25kgs in pregnancy and have lost 20 all up so am pretty proud of myself. My MIL is on an apple and chicken diet for her high school reunion and has lost 3kgs in a week, doesn't sound healthy though.
I went to the dentist today as my whole right cheek is swollen from my wisdom tooth and i am in absolute agony. They basically did nothing, gave me more AB and said I need to get it removed then charged me $50. Wish I was a dentist, although I can't imagine some of the gross things they see.
hj - when are you moving? Are you getting excited?
1st bub - How is the weather up your way? Have you had to evacuate?
Hollye - Yay on your weight loss, the reductil is good stuff. I went to the dr on the weekend and got it myself. I took my first tablet this morning and went for an hr walk and then did some laps at the pool after DD1's swimming lesson, lets just hope I can keep the exercise up. Hopefully I will have a weightloss for you next week.
OM - Ouch on the wisdom tooth, hope the AB's kick in soon and you feel better. Glad you had a good time at your sisters wedding. It's my bday at the end of this month and I am planning a girls night out, its been ages since I've been drunk so no doubt after not drinking for ages I will end up that way. I am hoping I wont be hungover though, its way too hard having one with kids.
HJ - I like the idea of setting a weekly weightloss goal, mine is 1kg for this week too.
Amanda - Sorry to hear about your cat, hope you and your family are ok!
Didi - Im not starting Lara on solids until 6 months (that's what I did with DD1 as well). As for contraception I have the implanon in and I am planning on getting it removed next week. I am forever bleeding and stacking on so much weight because of it. It is a nightmare, it would be fantastic if it worked for me. I can't have anymore kids so not sure what contraception I will use, probably the pill.
Well DD1 has been sick since Saturday morning with a cold and now Lara is getting it and I have a very sore throat, I really hope none of us get any worse. Plus Lara has her needles this Friday.
1stBub - Good luck with the cyclone. I am about to watch the news to see what it is doing. I live in Cairns and I have to say I breathed a sigh of relief when it bypassed us, after going through cyclone Larry (plus many others) I get scared when I hear of them coming close to us.
Gotta go and start cooking dinner, hi to everyone I missed.
Is anyones bubs doing this - its driving me nuts - B has been pretty much sleeping thru since 3mths old but for the past week she has been getting up a couple of times - she goes to bed around normal time for her which is 2000/2030 - thank wakes up around 2300/2400 thank wakes up again at 0300 than again at 0600?! why is she doing this again? its like having a newborn all over again!

HJ - Lara was doing that a couple of wks ago and it was driving me nuts!!! She only did it for a few nights then settled back into her normal routine, hopefully B will do the same thing for you. Its frustrating, especially when you're used to getting a good night sleep again.
hj - Olive also woke for about 4 nights about a month ago but is back to normal now. Apparently it is a 4mth phase, some get out of it quickly while others take a few months. Is she feeding well through the day? Apparently that can muck things about.
hollye - Well done with the weight loss. Hope you are feeling good about yourself.
Leigh - After we have our second bub DH will probably get the snip so we won't have to worry about contraception, well if we have a boy that is. The pill makes me fat and hormonal and I hate the way it makes me feel. Your DH isn't keen on that idea?
I've got mothers group today, then i've got to come home & do some serious housework, fun, fun....not. Some days it's just impossible to get anything done.
Went to clinic yesterday, Olive is now 8.525kgs, 66.4cms long and I can't remember HC but she is thriving and learning new stuff everyday.
Bianca is STILLLLLLLL not sleeping been about a week now!!! im sooooo tired!
Oh well just part of the many joys of motherhood i guess!
No way are we having number 2 any time soon - im too tired to even think about DTD hahaha
Mia - hello bubba girl how are u? are u playing up like Bianca is and giving ur mummy a hard time? i hope so
Olive - wow u certainly are thriving - your mummy is doing a fantastic job feeding you!!!
Lara - ur such a good girl for only interrupting mummy's sleep for a couple of nights! are u feeling better or are u still sick? Bianca has her needles on friday too so your not alone - be brave for mummy!
Liam - were u brave thru ur 1st cyclone - did it hit very bad or was it just very windy and wet? did u take good care of mummy thru it?
Julian - hows the rolling over going? sorry to hear about ur familys poor putty tat! that is very sad - not nice too lose a pet!
V and Jorda and Meara - you are all very quiet - i hope all is well
Just thought that i would leave a msg to all the adorable bubs this morning
HJ - that's very cute leaving msgs for the bubs. I'm not nearly organised enough to remember everyone's bubs names atm.
OM - how similar we are! I went to clinic yesterday too. And have MG this morning. And am ridiculously busy right now but am finding it near impossible to get a lot done! It's driving me crazy!!!!!!
Anyway, clinic, Liam is about 6.4kg (1st time weighed w/out clothes lately), 62.5kg length (or 82.5? I don't think so. hard to read), HC 42cm. Healthy and well. has a slight 'cast eye' though - where one is pointed in a slightly different angle to the other. It's hard to see though. Anyway, she said they wait until 12 months to do anything coz they often fix themselves. After i got home she called me up and said actually, he's moved backwards in his percentyle since the last time they weighed him there (7 weeks) and said i need to make sure he's fed up lots so he doesn't go backwards further. She said it was just by about 1%. She said i should feed him 6 times a day!! The formula says 4-5 times at this age and I've only been feeding him 4 coz that's all he has. He has plenty during those times. I can't even imagine squeezing in 6! ???!!! Surely i should just make sure he's having plenty at each feed, not be shy about giving him the full 150ml top-up, and bump up his solids???? What does everyone think? How often do you feed?
We're having a tuppaware party at MG today. I can't afford anything and would buy it from my sister anyway. HOpefully i can avoid temptation - i usually get sucked into buying something! Then i have my hair appoint afterwards. My nanna's on hols so can't babysit so i'll be taking Liam in with me and am a bit nervous about it. He's always really good but might be too tired by then already...
After that i have to move my butt and finish my mum's photo book so it gets to her not-too-far-after-her-birthday. And try to get a secret one done for DH's birthday (he's quite a good amature photographer so i want to get all his nature/wildlife ones into a book for him).
As for housework or getting my sisters baby shower organised.....!!!!!!
Oh, on the cyclone, it was a bit of an anticlimax in the end. Just reeeally windy, grey and cloudy. But that's good!! Don't know if they even evacuated the low lying areas like they thought they still might have to. Thankfully it stayed out off the coast and is now slowing down and dissapearing.
Oh, Hollye - I lost .5kg last week. Slowly but surely....
