Thankyou everyone for your thoughts and advice, everyone here is so friendly! Olive and I went to clinic today and she hasn't got thrush but the CFHN said that she is feeding well and isn't sure why my nipples won't heal (great help that was). Olive has however grown another 2cms this week which is pretty crazy, her Daddy is 6ft4in and she is very long and skinny like him. She is still very windy and is having huge periods of being awake and cluster feeding which i'm sure is normal but hard when your nipples feel like they are going to fall off. If my hubby even hugs me I want to punch him, poor thing. I am going to try some homeapathics and an osteopath I think as i've heard that babies who have been through traumatic birth (see birth story) have a tendancy to have spine problems which can cause wind. Has anyone tried this or other alternative therapies on their babies and found that it helps?
hello hello hello.. u have all missed me.. i know lol
snoop - great to see u back!
speaking of santa photos, whos getting one done for their bubs? i have a feeling Mia will just stare at santa and then prob sream but ill take her to get one anyway.. just to add to the album.
Mia did good last night, she slept from about 11:30pm to 5:30am fed till 6:40ish and slept until 9:30am, i was proud. Spent 2 hours in centrelink today!!! my appointment was 11am and i didnt get seen till 12:45 and then to get told "come back another day"... grrr needless to say i wasnt impressed. Then Mia had her 2 week check up and it was all good. She is now 3760 grams (8lb 4oz) and 51 cm long and her hc is 36.5. everything else was great. Weight gain not real good but shes got another check next week to see how its going.
hi all, did you miss me????? got a little lost between threads I've been in the october 1-15th didn't see this one.
How are we all getting on with our little ones?
Hey Allie- doing well here! James is sleeping well at night, generally goes down around 730ish and will sleep anywhere from 4-6 hours and then another 4-5 hours after that so that is great. Day sleeps are a bit all over the place - he sleeps better in his bouncer in the lounge with us so we have let him do that just for our own sanity! He is feeding well too now - we have minimised the spews by only giving him one booby per feed and keeping him upright for at least 15 mins after a feed.
Izzy is pretty demanding right now, refusing food, whining, throwing royal tanties...... and generally just being a toddler! My mantra right now is Ignore or Distract! I still have DH home which has been wonderful - its eating into our savings but it has been worth it for him to have time with his kidlets!!
Hollye - Izzy was scared of santa last year so we didnt get shots done but will definitely be getting them this year I think! I might take her to see him quite a few times before the actual day of the photos I think!
and hellooo to everyone else hope you are all doing brilliantly and bubs are behaving!! Off to rest while I can.
hey Tan, what a little trooper you have!!! I have been having a similar run with Angus...he has been going to bed at 9-9:30 for the night and will sleep till 2am will feed and will then sleep till 5:30-6am so I have been able to cope really well, he is an awesome feeder (and so hungry)
Angus has been sleeping alot through the day as well( a real novelty as Paige would never sleep during the day...at all!!!)..in fact he's been asleep since 5:30 so I am wondering if tonight might not be so cruisey...guess I'll find out in due course.
I tried waking him up the other day so he could have some awake time before night time sleep but he really wasn't keen on that idea, got cross with me and stayed asleep just kept pulling grumpy faces each time I tried to wake him up.
Angus has gone from birth weight of 9lbs 2ozs to 9lbs 10 ozs in just over a week (I would hate to see what he weighs now, but he is obviously getting the good stuff, he is such a great feeder, so much easier than his sister.
DH has the rest of this week and next week before he goes back to work am starting to get a little nervous about doing the single mum thing for the 5 days he'll be away but I am sure it will work out just fine.
I had my first bout of mastitis on Friday last week but luckily got it sorted quickly and am feeling back to normal.
no other news, just enjoying spending the days at home with my children, will have to think about how I am going to venture out soon I guess
had the Family day care association lady call today so I can start to get stuff organised I won't have to return to my job at the end of Maternity leave, doesn't sound like it will be too hard to get started and I am soooo looking forwards to being able to stay home with my babies this time around.
well love to all I am off to have a rest in case my little man decides to keep me up tonight.
Allie, Paige and Angus xxxxxxxxx
We had the MCHN visit yesterday and Logan is back to his birth weight in just over a week (4.34kg). He has put on 390g since last Wednesday - a big guzzler like Angus it sounds like!! Our nights are a bit varied, last night he was waking 4 hourly but the night before he only woke once which was great. He is such a noisy sleeper - grunting and snorting so I wake up thinking he wants a feed but he is asleep. I imagine I will get used to it.
We started using cloth nappies today, as we are almost out of the newborn disposables that we were given. It seems to be going ok so far.
Hollye - You poor thing waiting for so long and still having to go back at Centrelink!!! How frustrating.
Blizz - good luck with the family day care, sounds like a great idea for you.
