Babies Born October 16th ~ 31st 2008

Hi Girls,

I hope you don't mind me joining this thread. I had DD2 (Lara Jade) on the 26th of October, 3 wks early, by emergency c/s. I was due 13 - 15 Nov. DH and I also have another DD who is 3. Lara is such a good baby (so far anyway).

You girls may have already discussed this and sorry if you have but are any of you still bleeding? After I had DD1 I only bled for 2 wks but I am still bleeding now and Lara is almost 6 wks old. I am bottle feeding Lara (DD1 was breast fed) so not sure if that makes a difference. I also had the implanon inserted while I was in hospital so maybe that is the cause.

Welcome Leigh and congratulations on the birth of Lara!!! I bled for 6 weeks when I had Isabelle and this time around it was around 4 weeks. I am going to have implanon too and have been told you can get a bit of spotting as well so I would say if it continues in another week or so you might want to go see your GP about it and find out.

Off to have pics with santa today! I hope my gorgeous girl sits still for more than 5 secs for the photo! Back later!

I bleed for 4wks, and apart from that i can't help u much - but like Tan said it could be just from the Implanon! Also was DD1 a c-section aswell? that may make a difference if she wasn't????

Tan - i was going to do the same with Bianca this morning - but i don't think she has been good enough to see Santa! She is definatly on the naughtly list!!!

I had yet again another Hellish night! B went to bed at 2230 woke at 0045 (what is with that) and than i couldn't get her back to sleep until just after 0300 and she woke again at 0500 and is STILL awake! I swear my daughter hates me! Thank god last night was DH's last night shift for at least 18mths! Im so tempted to go sleep at mum and dad's tonight just so i can get some sleep for the first time in over 5wks!!!

I think it's about time I get back on board with posting! Have been reading, jut not posting.

Hope everything is going well for everyone! My DS had the BEST night last night. Went to sleep at 8pm, had a 'top-up' feed at 10pm (which he hardly woke for) and then slept til 5am!!! Then back down until 8am! :dance:
This is the first time I have done the 'top-up' feed at 10pm, will definetly keep doing that!

Welcome Leigh, congrats on the birth of Lara. I bled until 5 weeks this time, but with one of the others I have bled until 6 weeks, but if it keeps going go check it out with the doctor.

HJ sweety big :hug:, she doesn't hate you, maybe it would be good for you to have a rest at your mum and dad's, then you will be nice and refreshed and be able to deal with B.

Hi AmandaJ! I've been good. The first 2-3 weeks were hell, not because of DS but I ended up with an infection after the C/S and was quite sick, but all is great now! We called DS Banjo. He is doing so well! How's your little man going???

Welcome back Hippie!!! Glad to hear Banjo is going so well hun! Makes a big difference when you finally get some decent sleep. Sorry to hear about your infection - glad it has cleared up but that really sucks hun, as if having a c/s isn't hard enough. :hug:

I'm just loving time with my kids right now - DH went back to work yesterday (yep I was spoiled and had him home for 7 weeks) but it has been really nice to just do my own thing and not worry about him! I can spend time on BB too whenever I like! Hehe! James is such a content bub - he cries when he is hungry and that's it, Izzy has been a treasure, she loves her brother so much, a tiny bit of jealousy has crept in but that is easy fixed with loads of cuddles and tickles and just time spent with her. We had a nice big walk yesterday and then the 3 of us went to the park and had a picnic! James loved it!
Ok off to keep doing housework before mum gets here! :)

Tan - i have to look into them santa pics. Where are u getting yours done? how much do they usually cost? You are so lucky having Dh home with u for 7 weeks! Matt was only home for 2 weeks :( Im still hanging out to go for a big walk with Mia but the weather is always letting us down. Today it looks ok but is really muggy.

HJ - You are doing such a good job! well done for keeping ur sanity. B really has u on ur toes tho doesnt she. Have u got some baby panadol yet? Thats one thing when they are so unsettled it can take a little thing like an earache, headache, sore arm etc and they will scream for hours. I cant wait till Mia is talking and she can tell me whats wrong!

well all good here... Mia fed 10:30pm and slept till 6am again. Fed again and was asleep by 7am till i went and woke her up at 10:30 for another feed (which she had 170mls!!) lol. She had play time in her bouncer and went outside with mum and did a big poo and she went back down about 20 mins ago... IN HER COT!! woot woot!!! I have my 6 week check up today.. will Mia get weighed at it even tho its really my 6 week check? She has her 6 week check on Monday with the MCHN.

anyway off to ring harvey norman, need to find out about how much there instant pics cost and santa is meant to be going there for photo opertunities. hrmmmm

Hollye- I was going to get mine done at Doncaster shopping centre today, for the pack that I wanted they are $32 with one decent sized one, 2 normal sized photos and 4 wallets with a key ring. I think all the major shopping centres are the same price and they have different packages a bit cheaper and a bit dearer than that but it seems like the most popular one and perfect for what I need.

OMG I am SO annoyed. I went to get pics done, Izzy wouldn't sit on Santas knee so the photo had James looking away from the camera like a 7 week old does! Izzy looking terrified on my knee and me looking like a grinning idiot! That was fine, will go back another day and get her used to santa and maybe take DH with me but then I went and got a heap of yummy stuff from the grocery store for my MIL who always comes on a Friday ngiht with dinner, yummy dip, cheese, bread sticks, icecream etc but I have LOST my card :angry: I am so annoyed I must have left it at Kmart or somewhere yesterday what a PITA... then I am leaving the centre, pull up to the exit and realise I have lost my exit ticket as well, so I buzz the help button and the guy gives me a hard time - go to the pay centre before you leave blah blah blah you are holding up traffic, next time it will be $20 but then let me out thank god. UGH I should have just stayed at home today.

OMG.... i survived that one! Mia just had one of her "im going to scream at you for hours and theres nothing u can do about it" sessions. But i have come out the other end.. not much sanity left tho! lol

Tan - oh poo about them pics! geez i wish santa was more friendly looking.. he even scares me a little and im nearly 21! lol just one of them crappy days all round.

Welcome back Hippy! and glad to hear that ur another one that is getting a goodnights sleept! AAAARRRRRGGGGGHHHHHH i even do the 10pm feeds and its still not working for me!!!!

Amanda - as much as the sleep at mum and dad's sounds good - i know it would be irresponsible of me to do so! she is my responsibility so i have stick it out! DH said he would get up too her tonight anyway! however i know that i wont be able to resist and i will end up getting up and helping him!

Tan - how was ur meet up with ur friend yesterday? and 7wks with ur man!!!! how lucky are u!!!!

Hollye - yep she sure does have me on my toes! im a walking talking zombie atm! i had one glass of wine before and it has soooo gone to my head! guess lack of sleep isnt helping with that! i do have baby panadol - havent used it yet! would that help her sleep? can u use it for that? have u used it with Mia yet?
How did ur check up go? i dont have mine until january and for some reason im looking forward to it! guess i wanna see my ob again - she was soooo great!

Although i have had a bad night B is being surprisingly good and has slept in her cot TWICE today! can u believe it? TWICE!!!!!!
that website i talked about has actually helped a bit - and when i have seen her tired signs i have put her down straight away and it has worked!!!!

I also did most of my chrissy shopping today - went to a different shopping cntre than usual and still cant find Bianca a chrissy dress! i think i should just give up!

HJ - Mia has had panadol twice. First time was when she screamed for 2 days straight coz of her mouth (thrush). Second time was when i was up at 2am with her screaming and screaming and it was my last resort. She went to sleep within half an hour so im guessing she had pain somewhere. Have u tried Infacol? i tried it for the first time lastnight.. was ok, but she seemed to spew abit from it.. hrmmmm

Check up went well. My BP is back down to normal!! yay! suprising tho..thought little miss would have made it sky high! C/section scar alllll healed and looking fantastic. Stomach muscles are also great, not even a finger width seperation. so is all good! woot woot!

Haven't tried infacol but tried infants friend and that stuff is evil - made poor B worse - so im a bit weary of trying infacol!
I too wish Bianca could talk so i knew what was wrong - dont want to give her panadol if nothing is wrong and she is just being difficult if u know what i mean - even tho i know it wont harm her! might give it a go tho if we have another night like last night!

Oh and guess what everyone???? Bianca picked up a rattle today and played with it!!! i was sooooo proud of her, brought tears to my eyes! my little girl is growing up!

oh i have to share a funny with u all..

i was feeding Mia her bottle and watching a very interesting show on TV at the same time. I hear her coughing so i look down. She had pulled back and all the milk was going straight up her nose. U shudda seen her face!! I know i shouldnt have laughed but it was sooo funny!! one of them, had to be there moments!

Glad I could give you a giggle HJ!!!! Our catch up was great!! Her little boy is Izzy's age and she is due with no#2 in Jan! Funny how 14 years flies by!!

Poor Mia!!! my milk sprays everywhere at times so James had it up the nose and in the eyes!!!

and how close together ur bubs are! whens the next catch up? does she live nearby?

well Mia slept for a whole 30 minutes!!! *sigh*. Shes started her screaming thing again. ho hum! DP got home at 5:30 and i put her in the shower with him and it did calm her a little bit. Hes now feeding her. I put some Infacol in this bottle so hopefully that fixes the problem. So routine out the window!!! Just seems some feeds she wants closer together and others further apart. Oh i dont know! *goes to find a bridge to jump off* lol
