Hi Everyone,
I had my 6wk check yesterday. It was actually really nice to see my doc, he's great. Well if anyone has seen my post in the BF section they will know that I haven't had an easy time, and the saga continues...Apparently bub does have mild thrush in her mouth which is contributing to my sore/cracked nipples not healing. The doctor also wants to put me on different antibiotics for the staph infection in my boobs, put acidolphilis powder on my nipples & put Olive back on Nilstat for 10 days. God I hope all this works! Due to constipation I have to take 4000 mg og vitamin c to conteract the iron tablets (anemic after blood loss at Olive's birth). We also discussed contraception which I decided to take the mimi pill. By the time I was finished getting all this at the chemist today I had spent $102!!! Whoever though some sex and breastfeeding would be so bloody expensive! Olive has been a bit unsettled again the past two days and he said it's probably from the thrush then today we went shopping and she got sooo upset like she was in pain, poor darling. The doc also said that alls good for dtd and that everything else is good. Olive passed everything and is generally such a happy baby anyway after a bit of a rough start. To be honest I think the most she has cryed for would be about 10-15mins at a time, she's not a cryer but she does stay awake and grunt and groan in her cot sometimes which is also frustrating at 2am but not as bad as crying. She is also sometimes awake for hrs like last night from 5-11pm, she then slept in our bed till 5 only because we really needed the sleep (DH gets uo at 2:50am for work) then had a feed and back down till 9 so that was pretty good. Mind you we did have a family dinner last night so she got passed around all night. Is'nt it funny how you all of a sudden become so popular when you have a baby, lol.
So we also went xmas shopping today and Olive got a Santa photo, so cute, can't wait to pick them up.
God bit of a ramble, sorry guys.:)

HJ - My GF actually lives in Brisbane! Im in Melbourne and she was down for some "getaway" time before her next bub arrives! She is originally from Vic but moved up there about 8 years ago with her DH.
Olivesmummy - that sucks about the chemist hun and I hope the thrush clears up quickly for you! Yay for the Santa photo too Im jealous!
Hollye - Sorry to hear you are having a hard time hun, and this will be easy to say with James being my second but I have found that Im not timing feeds, or ow long between each one this time around like I did with Izzy, I feed him when he wants it. Sometimes that is hourly and sometimes he goes up to 4 hours. These bubs are still settling into being outside in the world and although routines are great you might find that by just using her cues and not worrying about times etc it might help you too..... As I said I've learnt all this second time around and I know how hard it really is to try and work it all out. It does get easier I promise!
James is 7 weeks tomorrow so I should make an appointment for my 6 week check I guess. He didn't really do much at my one with Izzy but I really need to get implanon plus (TMI warning!) DTD is SOOO painful and I had a c/s so I want to get that checked too - I posted a while ago about it and a few girls said that breasfteeding can cause low oestrogen so Im hoping it is easily fixed. I also need to go back and get my 6 cm tummy muscle separation checked out by the physio - Im hoping its a teeny bit less now and I can start doing some more tummy stuff to get back in shape.
Ok off to eat icecream and watch Miss Congeniality! Such cheese but so good!

Hi Girls,
Thanks for welcoming me to this thread and all your kinds words.
Hollye - Lara Jade's birth details are: 26th October 08, exactly 6 pound and born at 4:15pm.
I had a c/sec with my first daughter as well. She was really stuck inside me and had to cut me in a upside down T shape and after that I was told I would not be able to have a vaginal birth due to the fact that I may rupture. I was booked for my c/sec with Lara at 38 wks but like my first daughter she decided to come early at 37 wks. I wasn't meant to labour at all and the hospital was flat out the day she was born and I actually laboured for 7 hrs. Little did I know that with every contraction I had I was tearing all the way down to my vagina on the inside, as a result of this I am unable to have anymore kids.
Tanstar - I've only DTD once with DH since Lara was born and it was sooo painful (felt like a really bad burning feeling) that I'm not game to do it again. I don't remember having this with my first DD so I'll be asking my dr at my check up too. I'm not sure if it is coz I split all the way down to my vagina or not.
Hippiemummy - I ended up with a bad infection in my c/sec scar as well. It is still oozing now, sorry TMI.
I got my girls photos with Santa today. I couldn't get a good photo of both girls at the same time, wish I could've cut and paste from different photos.
Better go and get Lara up for a feed, then hopefully she'll sleep through the night, she is usually pretty good but we had an awful night last night.
Sorry for the lack of personals.
Have a great weekend!!!

Hey all just a quick one
Looks like Miss Bianca Jane may have cradle cap now! its not bad atm so im going to get right on it to hopefully prevent it from getting bad - any recomendations? has anyones else's bub got cradle cap? - what next is going to happen to my little girl?
-
rub baby oil on it and leave it. wash it off at next bath.. when u brush her hair brush it back before u brush it forward, prevents cradle cap. If it gets too bad there is stuff from the chemist that can help but the baby oil should do the trick. HTH

Hi Everyone -
hj, Olive has had cradle cap for about a week and a half in her eyebrows! I was told by lots of older women to use pure olive oil (hehe) and it has worked well. Put it on then let it dry and try to brush it off with a soft baby brush at the end of each day. Apparently this also works on the scalp.
Nice to know i'm not the only one in pain while trying to dtd. We have tried twice without getting real far but you have to start somewhere right? and i've been assured that it does get better eventually.
Hollye, I was wondering how long it took Mia's thrush to get better? Olive hates the Nilstat but will perservere the 10 days and hopefully it will all clear up.

hi guys,
sorry i am being so slack with posting, im still reading everything, i finally got my birth story typed up, and posted it last night. I left out m ost of the really bad stuff, most of it was post natal anyway.
hj- my mum swears by olive oil for cradle cap, just use a little bit and massage it in, then use a soft baby brush to gently lift the scales away. are you sure shes not just a bit dry? Jacobs scalp looks a little flaky if he has a bath/shower every day, but it goes away with alittle moisturiser and not bathing him the next day.
Ishould be going over to big w 2 morrow, do you need a 0000 or 000 size dress? if they have them of course.
hi leigh26- thats pretty awful about your being ripped by being in labour - is the hospital liable at all?
tan- hope your weekend is turning out better then your bummer of a day, you poor thing, I would have been a sobbing heap if that happened to me!
I am still waiting for the cyh nurse to come out.....jacob was supposed to have his 4 wk check almost 2 wks ago, they never turned up! then when I rang and made another appointment, they rang me back and said that the nurse was sick and then rescheduled for next week! so he will be 6 wks then. should just go to the gp I suppose but i am toatally disillusioned with my usual doctor as he wasnt very nice to me last time I went to see him about all the c-section crap. so now I need to find another one
anyway, hope you all have afantastic weekend.

About 2 weeks, she still has a little bit but i just give her a dose maybe once every 2 days to keep it under control. She doesnt like it either but its important to get it to coat the inside of her mouth so even put a bit on ur finger and rub it all over it. I give Mia half a dose then put her dummy in her mouth and then the other half and then the dummy, this ensures it coats all her tongue and the top of her mouth and stops her spitting it out. If Olive is having trouble feeding coz her mouth is sore the doctor told me to give Mia a dose of panadol 30 minutes before her feed. I have only done this once but it seemed to work coz she wasnt finishing her bottle. Make sure u clean all the teats and things very thouroughly(sp) because thursh can thrive in teats that arnt cleaned properly, even sterilize them. Im not saying u dont clean them properly, just trying to give some advice, i hope that helps hun, thrush is horrible for them.

StarrySky - if Bianca is the same as Mia, which is becoming the case 0000's is good but 000's are good if u want them to last through the summer lol.

Hi gorgeous ones! I swear by MooGoo for cradle cap - Izzy had it pretty bad when she was a bub and I tried everything, the olive oil worked for a bit but it always came back and left her hair all icky whereas the MooGoo cleared it right up!
My weekend has been great, we went to my sisters today. She has a few miniature ponies eating her lawn there for a few days, so I took Izzy to check them out! She was more interested in the cubby house and swing there though! We also went to a park and Izzy was exhausted by the time we left and fell asleep in the car for 10 mins, got home and wouldn't go back to sleep. Luckily she wasn't too bad this arvo and will sleep past 5am rather than getting me up so early.
Well Im off to watch KungFu panda with DH - off to our mothers group Xmas get together tomorrow! Should be fun!
SLEEP little babies and give your mums a well earned rest tonight!! :)
-
Please help......
DS is sleeping well at night but during the day will only go to sleep if I am holding him. He will go to sleep in my arms then I try to put him in his cot or the bouncer and wide awake again! Any suggestions on how to get him to sleep in his cot would be great! Its starting to drive me a bit crazy! :wall:

Thanks everyone - i tried the baby oil on B for the cradle cap and i think she has had a reaction to it cause all down her neck and back has come out in a rash - i think i used a little too much also - did it while in the bath hence why it got down her neck and back!
so not using that again! will try olive oil cause i got that in the cupboard and than moogoo????? never heard of it - Tan where do u get that from?
i ended up giving her a bath this morning (she only usually has night baths) and i gave her scalp a good massage with baby brush and that has seemed to clear it up a bit!
Starry - hopefully im not too late - but B is starting to fit into her 000 clothes now!
Hollye - Thank you for letting Starry know B's size!
Well Bianca went to her first Hens and Bucks night last night and she was soooo well behaved! She even put up with being passed around - she was more of the centre of attention than the Buck and Hen! hahaha
Oh and guess what????? 2 nights in a row bianca has slept from 2200-0330!!!! than back up around 0630/0700 can u believe it? i cant!!! hopefully we will be 3rd time lucky tonight - maybe the tide has changed with her! she has reached the next milestone!
Hippie - we were having GREAT problems getting Bianca too sleep in her cot during the day but for the last 2 days she has spent pretty much all day in her cot - she wakes for a feed and a burb, and maybe a play than is back down in cot too sleep - and what we have been doing is watching for tired signs - which may be - glazed eyes, jerky leg movements, yawning, clenched fists etc and as soon as we see them we swaddle her, with arms in (usually she hates that but it has been working) and put her down in cot straight away! apparently if u miss their tired signs by 10mins than they become overtired and hard too put down - so maybe try watching for the signs and put DS to his cot straight away !
hopefully i have helped u!
-
ops are we not suppose to reccomend websites? cause what is written there is not what i wrote!
I apologise everyone if we are not meant too! :o
-
hj- sorry hun, my bigw was all out too, only had dora xmas stuff, I didnt thnk that was what u meant.
-
hahaha no it wasn't! Thank you VERY much for looking tho!!!
-
Hippie - I am a bit the same. James sleeps through the night (sorry chicks) from around 7-8 til 5-6 and then goes back to bed but then for most of the day some days he is wide awake. I've stopped worrying about it and with Izzy to run around after it is a bit easier I guess but we have been letting him play in his bouncer until he is ready. Sometimes after 30 mins he will grizzle and we know he is ready to go back to bed and we put him in the hammock and swing it and he will put himself to sleep and other times he will just fall asleep by himself in the bouncer. I watch for tired signs too, jerky movements, grizzles, yawning and will use those to pop him back to bed as well. We don't have a routine as such, some days he will feed and sleep with hardly any play time and others he will be awake for most of the day. As long as he is happy and still sleeping at night Im not complaining! Good luck love it is tricky to work out these cheeky ones.
We had our mothers group Chrissy catch up today - so nice to all be there together, some girls work and don't come much anymore so it was nice to see them all. Only annoyng thing is that it was meant to be at a park but of course the weather was foul this morning so we went to a play centre and now its GORGEOUS! Ah well.
Friends coming for afternoon tea better fly!

HJ - Google moogoo and their website will come up. I bought it online, not sure if they have any stockists near you!
Off to get ready for MG = yep twice in 2 days. Izzy has a bit of a croaky throat poor love but is happy enough so we might just go for a little bit to give her a run around. Back later! Hope you all had a great night!
