****! Bumbo??????????????????? what is THAT!!!!!!!!!!????????????
I don't get it - is it just my foggy brain - why are you usually plan B?
Bumbo's = a little moulded seat that looks really cute but not really practical or good for helping babies to sit or their posture - just stirring you all, my opinion onlyAnd if you google Bumbo seats you will see threads in other forums talking about how as soon as bubs can twist, potential and real falling dangers etc - gosh I'm a downer LOL Personally I think it is one of those cute nursery pieces that marketers make out are impossible to live without
Well I just got back from CALMS - Canberra after hours local medical service - had a sore boob since lunchtime and was painful to feed so thought I better check it out and yep, all red and splotchy underneath so went and got some anti's to make sure it didn't develop overnight - my first appt was 10pm (so I had a coffee at 7pm to make sure I would stay awake) but they rang back with a cancellation cos I told them it was mastitis and got in at 8.45pm (which means 9.30) - so now I am still hyped on caffeine
Feel ok, but dizzy and sore, but at least got onto it early ....
lol I'm plan B-BBBBBBBBB for Belfie (and my REAL name).
SamiH - bummer on the mastitis, hope it get's better soon. Sounds like you got onto it really quickly which is great!
Amy_o - I'm most intrigued!!!
hmm im so undecided abt the bumbo...i really want to get it but what if i dont like it?
would someone be interested to buy it off me, muahahaha
ive also been looking at the sling chair too, theres so much to look at and i jst dont seem to be able to open my books LOL
Hey! I have a BUMBO. I love it but BJ hates it. He'll only sit it in for 5 mins MAX. And that's even when he has his toys in front of him. But my niece used it alot. She was very happy in it. I think they're practical up until bub can sit up on their own. It's easy to transport around the house or back yard, or anywhere really. Like a portable chair. You can sit bub on the dining table if you wanted (with supervision of course). I wish BJ liked it more. He might get use to it, I don't actually put him in it that often. I never paid for mine though. I inherited it from my sister.
TANYA I am having the EXACT same issues with BJ. He just won't feed properly. He's happy & sleeping & having wet nappies but he only had 4 feeds yesterday & one of them was for 3 or 4 mins only. I'm worried too. Although I'm not worried about his weight as he's over 7kgs, but it's more that I'm worried that it's just not normal, and very frustrating for me. I'm going to keep a diary for a few days & see the MCHN on Wednesday. I hear there's a good one close to my home so I'm gonna go & see her & hope she can give me some tips. I'm considering the bottle, which is really not what I want to do.
SAMI I hope you get hold of the Mastitis. Use an electric toothbrush on the red areas. It works quite well.
Hi to everyone!
csab - I totally forgot how small V was. Maya started off at 4kgs at birth. But it has taken her 3 1/2 months to put on 1 kg. She's now 5kgs. Has V had good weight gains?
Sami - I hope the mastitis is under control.
Georgi - I went and saw my MCHN last week and she told me to try and feed somewhere quiet and dark. I can do the quiet but not the dark. No where dark at my place. She also suggested that I try and express after every feed and then offer that EBM to her in between feeds. But I can't express much after a feed. I think there's a lot more milk in there that Maya can get to but I can't. I have been getting a couple of mls though and offering in between feeds (AKA pouring it down her throat).
Maya did end up having one good feed yesterday and lots of snacky ones. I was so happy she had one good feed though! And this morning she ate a lot! So I'll see what happens for the rest of the day.
I inherited a bumbo too - off my SIL. I do like it. As Georgi said, you can put it on the dining table with supervision. So sometimes I eat at the table with her sitting in it. It's a very cute sight. She can only stay in it for 5 - 10 mins though. I also take it outside and let her sit in it out there for a bit.
I have Maya's 4 month immunisations today (8 days early). I am so not looking forward to when the needles go in.Hopefully afterwards she'll be like last time and just be more sleepy and a bit grisly but not ill.
OK.. gotta run....
Good morning!!
You will be pleased to know that we were not swept away in the night and it was all a fizzer. Oh well. I don't have the heart to tell DH that he'll have to go to work!!
My plan B turned out that a cairns lady on BB saw me mention Bumbo and offered me her old one.ahhh online networking!!!
Sami~~ Sorry bout the mastitis, but it was good to hear good old CALMS is still up and running!!
Hope all the bubs who are giving their mummy's hard times with feeding get it together soon, it could be the heat though and I think I remember reading they have a 4 month "moment" where everything goes off. My MCHN was telling that last week cause Bethany had gone from Good Baby to Evil Baby!!! Something to do with brain development but it could be load of who-haa as well.
Well I can hear Bethany stiring, we are off to a Tupperware party, Bethany's first!! Is there a place in the baby book for baby's first tupperware party?? It is a big milestone for a girl, I see hundreds in her future!!
Have a good one!
Oh and we should hear about a house today cross all fingers and toes please!!
Tanya - V has only put on a kilo as well, I am having everything crossed that when I get her weighed again in 4weeks time that she would be over the 4kg mark. I am worried that if she hasnt put on much weight to what the pead expects then he will be convinced that there is something wrong with her. I am trying to convince him otherwise. V is happy and content and mostly snacks at her feeds. Everytime I hold her she doesnt feel any different with her weight, yet I know I am with her all the time, to someone else who isnt could tell more.I am really hoping that she has kept up with her 150gm a week at least. The most she has at a feed is 100ml give or take 10ml. She never finishes a bottle. I really think tho that it is the heat playing up on her.
Georgi - Thats interesting re the electric toothbrush on mastitis.... Seems like a few of our bubs are turning off their feeds.... hugs
A huge HELLLLLLLOOOOOOOO to everyone else, hope your all doing well. hugs
