    hey ladies,

My Monday celebratory roast is cooking away, so I've some time to post. Thanks for the well-wishes, and yes I am a very happy mummy! I don't think I'd realised just how much of a weight on my shoulders it had felt like. We've got vaccinations tomorrow then mother's group, so should be fun. Plus I got my new "hands-free" pumping bustiere today, I'm so excited (is that sad or what, lol!).

PP - that's great E slept so well and great work on the rolling! Awesome!

AmandaJ - I was looking at the body transformation thingo, i think it's great you're doing it -wish they'd start another one for late bloomers like me lol. Congrats on what you've done!!!

Amy_o - good luck with the packing, i'm sending boxy vibes!

Tanya - that's awful about that girl! Gosh I think i have the oppositve problem, think my MIL thinks I'm always trying to force feed him lol.

csab - thanks for the hugs and aaw that's cute re V!

SamiH - haha I was trying to think of something I felt like saying (like different to my usual waffle). It's a poem I have had stuck on stereo for years that I just really like - and that's the first two lines.

Kuraiza - i'm with you on the AF - got mine back last month gah. Also intrigued by your babysitter - is it a relly or friend, or professional babysitter? I haven't been game for a night out yet... but it's our 10th wedding anniversary in May, so wanna get used to MIL doing it by then... (so long as we don't accidentally create #2 eep!).

Ok so gotta put in the rest of htat poem:
    "We are the music-makers,
And we are the dreamers of dreams,
    Wandering by lone sea breakers,
    And sitting by desolate streams;
    World-losers and world-forsakers,
On whome the pale moon gleams,
Yet we are the movers and shakers
Of the world forever, it seems"

    (Arthur O'Shaughnessy)
ok so it's kinda mournful, but I dunno, there's just something about it I like.

Oh and new pic tehehe! Been meaning to take this for months... DH has size 12 feet, so I couldn't resist!

Babysitter was a neighbour. She's very nice and loves babies so she has been begging to let her babysit. I can't blame her for having Jude awake so late past his bedtime, she probably had trouble settling him. It must be hard to settle someone elses baby.

Hmmm I wonder if I just don't eat enough to sustain breast feeding. Jude is almost entirely formula fed during the day, now. Breastfeeding has been an ongoing battle for me for the entire 4 months. I didn't know I was supposed to eat more.

    Jude's stats:
    Birth: 2.56kg Length 46cm
    4 Months: 5.19kg Length 60cm

Jude just started trying to sit up. Don't know what he'll do if he succeeds, he can't sit up on his own yet. He is rolling all over the place, now. Front, side, belly, back, otherside ... he's a busy boy.

amy - All the best with the packing. I hope it doesn't take too long.

PP - Maya was sleepy after the first vaccinations, but this second lot she ended up being very unsettled.

belfie - I hope X's vaccinations go OK.

kuraiza - I've found that I naturally want to eat more while breast feeding. I think you need to consume an extra 500 calories or something like that. So not heaps more food just a bit more.

Someone sent me "The Mom Song". Have you guys seen it? I thought it was hilarious! If you haven't seen it you can google it and find it on YouTube.

    .
Same here - first time very sleepy- second time very unsettled first 12 hours.

kuraiza - good on your boy - definately dont worry about tummy time too much if he can roll around - he needs control for that and obviously has it! Zander is still lazy cos everything gets bought to him, so now school is back and Giselle starts preschool too, he will just have to learn to do it on his own getting his toys!

I am meeting some other Canberra BB'ers for coffee this morning, so betta get packed.

seems quiet in here atm! c'mon lets make some noise I guess Amy is busy packing and Georgi was in Sydney... and Hollye's been busy

SamiH - hope you had fun with the other BB'ers. Meeting in real life... hmm wow. I should make sure I never do that, then I could pretend I look like a blonde supermodel ha!

Tanya - love the Mom song too!

Kuraiza - that's great re your neighbour. I've one who would probably do it but I haven't been quite game yet, and I don't know her all that well (or I'm just a control freak making excuses lol).

Had our 4 month vacc this morning. I think I've the quietest council centre going round - it was SO quick. I'd planned to feed him while we waited... but nuh-uh, didn't have time! No notable reactions so far, touch wood. Off to mother's group this arvo...

    have a good one everyone!

It is quiet in here today. I hope that means everyone is having a good day!

I had mums and bubs yoga today! I love it! I feel like at least I am doing some sort of exercise! And Maya seems to enjoy it too.

belfie - I hope X doesn't have any bad reactions to the vaccinations!

Sami - How was your catchup with other BB members?

Question: How long is your bub up for in between naps during the day?

Maya is generally up for 1 1/2 to 2 hours. But sometimes it's longer if I struggle to get her to sleep or if I go out somewhere! She sometimes can be up for 3 or 4 hours, maybe even longer if I go out.

P.S. I had a really weird dream where I suddenly remembered that I had actually had twins and I had totally forgotten about my son. But when I found him he was all happy and very chubby! And I gave him big cuddles and was apologising to him but I realised he had been fine without me. Dunno what that dream meant?! But when I woke I had to think if I actually had one or two kids.

Just a quicikie - hubby away and all the night time busy-ness is calling

Tanya - Tresillian say at 6 months they generally up for 2 hours, down for 1.5 hours - at the moment Zander is up for around 1.5hrs on avg - this varies if we are out, and often now after he gets up in the morning he is back in bed after an hour for a nap. But on avg 1.5 hours.

Zander has only catnapped and been whingy alllllll day (apart from when we were out this morning and he was dream baby fall asleep in my arms without crying baby) - I thought he must have a tummy ache - I was right, he did a humungus poo and then smiled again. And now has been asleep for an hour, whereas he was waking every 20 - 30 minutes crying.

BB coffee was weird, but great, some other nice ladies I can have catch up coffee and chats too - Belfie we have seen your FB pics too hun so know that you def have blonde hair and supermodel potential

Hmm, so much for short - back later when kids in bed ...

Tanya Julian is usually awake for between 1 and a half and 2 hours as well then sleeps for maybe an hour or hour and a half just depending.

Belfie glad to hear that the needles went well, hopefully X won't have a reaction.

Sami hmmm weird lol, hope you both had a great time. Julian was like Z the other day and he did a huge poo and was right again, must be something in the air.

Kurazia Jude's stats are looking great, and what a clever boy rolling all over the place, you never know he may start sitting soon, my first was an early sitter and walker, what a lovely neighbour you have as well.

Not much going on here, will be hopefully going and getting Julian's immunisations next week. What is everyone doing for Valentines Day on Saturday?

    hugs xoxo

Valentine's Day - pft - nuthin! Well, not true, I have a voucher for an express facial/eyebrow & lip wax - so having that done! I had a bit of an argument with Dh this morning, i know heaps of others do it, but I find it hard with a bub to b/f plus get R ready for school and get them fed and happy - oh, AND Have a shower - Dunno how you do it Amanda, I know they older they get the easier .... oh well. I just feel like I look like shyte when I walk out the door and I hate not having my hair respectable etc.

So, what I was getting to is that he better buy me a big bunch of "I appreciate everything you do and not just on Valentines Day" flowers. I know he felt awful, and left me a msg of niceties which made me cry (Maybe AF is coming back and I hormonal??) He is away until Thrusday night.

BJ cried the whole way to Sydney & the whole way home. We are never getting on a plane with him again. Well not till he's heaps older anyway. Man it was a nightmare!

oooh crazy day. you know - one of those days where you look back and it was just a bit mental? It started with the 5am feed (gah), followed by back to bed... overslept... got up late, raced out the door to vaccs (SamiH - withOUT shower and WITH greasy lank limp hair!)... off to shops, bought some pressies for sisters, into eensy teensy cramped post office, X starting to squawk decided to take everything home & fill it out (to drop in post office later)... home by 12 managed to feed X AND double pump (using new hands-free pumping bra)... lunch, fill out cards & pressie, realise the express post bag is too small ... ran out of time to shower... out to mother's group - turns out everyone else was sick but she'd lost my number so couldn't call to cancel... sat there for a polite but shortish length of time (not offered ANY drink btw) then X a bit grumpy/unsettled... back to different post office for new express bag... package & send. Home, settle sleepy X... doorbell friend arrived with her 9 m.o.... said she'd stay for half an hour 0, X rouses, unsettled, unhappy... (2.5 hours later....). X starting to get very grumpy... feed... express... X back down, does a big spew in his cot... didn't realise how big until I picked him up and saw the spew all over the back of his head!!! Friend still hasn't realised that maybe going would be good about now DH arrives home (yay) - he get's himself dinner quickly (he's playing basketball, so back out in an hour or so... I say right... 15 mins, you take Mr X now very grizzly & unsettled and I'm gonna shower!!!! Then fed X, expressed again... got myself dinner at 9pm... and now i'm gonna relax.

Geesh, why did I go to mother's group? Stupid huh! But the scary thing is that I'm sure this is nothing for those with more than 1 child.. I prolly just don't know how good I got it! SamiH - I do not know how you get out hte house & do everything you do!

As for Valentine's Day - yeah that's the day my DH is LEAST guaranteed to get flowers lol. I have a hot stone massage voucher i must use... mebbe I'll book that!

SamiH - lol Xander doesn't grab anything... cos he's permanently mittened gosh I'm a mean mummy! Seriously, I'm trying to give him heaps of "hand" time, cos I was a bit worried that he's not super grabby - he's getting better I think, will actually hold things. To start with he'd just stare at these weird hand things that had replaced his mittens! :

    amy - yay for telstra

    hollye - MWAH!

re cheap therapy - you'll all need therapy by the time I'm done!
