Happy 9 months Z and X!! OMG.. nearly ONE!
Csab - I hope V is doing much better today.
belfie - Yeah it is annoying that I keep hearing "that's weird" when I talk about my numb hands and feet. I used to also have numb knees but that's better now. So I am just hoping my hands and feet will go back to normal too. I did have one osteo suggest that maybe all the swelling from PG and C/S crushed my nerves and nerves can take a very long time to heal. It does seem to be getting slowly better.. but it is soooooooo slow. I keep meaning to post in here and ask if anyone else has ever had it. Maybe I'll do that now.
Question: I've been wondering lately - what happens to you breasts when you stop b/f? Will I go back to my original size? Stay at my new size? Go somewhere in between?
ETA - Forgot to say.. Maya is commando crawling. Now I need to reorganise where I keep things methinks. She made it over to some CDs and tapes I have piled up and proceeded to pull them out one by one and play with them.
Gee you are on the ball Tanya! Yes 9 months today - amazing. I think Z decided to celebrate by eating a whole 100g tub of yoghurt this morning for brekky - YAY - not much since, but baby steps :)
Georgi - I cant believe the updates re cheryl and V - she is in my prayers how absolutely frightening for them both. I read your other thread about weaning - and MR was right - you do sound so much happier about the whole feeding thing now. You've done a wonderful job in nourishing your bub hun.
Meanwhile, I dont think I will ever get Z off the boob :rolleyes:
Tanya - look out for anything knee height now - well done Maya  On the boob size thing - mine just drooped after feeding each child  but yes once you finish you should get measured again because they change after each bubba.
Poor Zander just sat and watched all these other little buggers crawl around him and pinch his toys today at ABA meeting - but hey, that is just gunna be him - Mr Placid. He has absolutely no interest apart from observing - until someone gets near him and he reaches out and grabs their sock haha!
Gotta eat before school pick -up - I ended having coffee with BB girls until school pick up yesterday arvo so nuthin got done here!!!:lol::lol:
SAMI Thanks hun. I still feel slightly dissapointed that I couldn't make the 12 months mark. But on the other hand I was getting so stressed so often about his poor feeding, biting, not sleeping etc. One thing that is making me feel great about it, is that he's sleeping now for 3hours during the day. OMG what a turn around. He was only sleeping 2 x 30mins. Today he did 2 hours this morning & 1hr 10mins this arvo. Plus, he's doing 12 hours overnight without his dreamfeed.
I have updated Cheryl's thread again. Spoke to her today.
Sorry I can't keep up with personals atm. I'm finding all this weaning stuff very hard work, & time consuming. Still getting over the holiday too. I have been reading though
Happy 9mths X & Z, wow it is going sooo quickly.
Georgi thanks for the updates on Cheryl and V, take care of yourself wean is a very emotional time, take some time to grieve, you have done a wonderful job and you are a great mummy for feeding him this long.
Not much else going on here, will be taking Julian to the Drs tomorrow as he is no better and it's starting to affect his sleeping.
I made pea and ham soup in the slow cooker today and it smells fantastic.
Evening Ladies :)
Csab ~ hun i hope little V is doing alot better, hang in there hun you know what a special little girl she is and how much of a fighter she really is!
Georgi ~ hun you did the best YOU could do with the BF'ing congrats on a job well done!!
SamiH ~ Zander will do everything in HIS own sweet time hun!!! he may not even crawl some babies just get on up and walk straight away!!!
*Tanya* ~ Hun congrats on Maya commando crawling!!! see i told you it wouldn't be long at all after you posting that video on FB such a clever lil chicken she is!!!!
Amy_O ~ Hun how is the ever gorgeous Bethany doing??
Well......Jack is finally starting to crawl on his hands/knees..after me saying i don't think he actually going to crawl like that!!! hehehe and he thinks he is such a clever boy when he does it...grinning like a cheshire cat :)
Still pulling himself up and walking along furnature....time is flying...i am already thinking about 1st birthday presents!!!!!
Happy 10mths Byron, not long now Georgi until his birthday, have you started planning it yet? Thanks for doing the updates on Cheryl and little V.
Fluff yay for Jack getting his 5th tooth and for starting to crawl properly, how sad am I, we got Julian's 1st birthday present last year at the toy say, lol, before I'd even had him, I told you, sad....very sad.
Well Julian is still sick, I took him to the Drs on Friday and he had mild brochilitis, he's not much better so will have to see how the next day or two go. The school holidays started so two weeks with all the kids home, 3 of them still sick, so much fun.
Happy 10 months old to BJ!:dance:
AmandaJ - sorry to hear Julian is sick! Poor little man, hope he gets better soon... actually hope they all get better soon
fluff-a-holic - haha Jack sounds so cute doing all that, wow! As for 1st b'day pressies, omg freaking me out!
Georgi - you have just done such a fab job  you should be so proud of yourself. How is it going now? Hope it's all going ok.
SamiH - lol that's too funny re Z being placid at the ABA meeting.
*Tanya* - how is Maya's commando crawling going?
amy_o - how are you guys going?
Thanks girls. Wow, 10months. That's like, nearly a year! I have also been thinking about his 1st birthday party & what we're gonna get him. Yep Amanda, started planning the party a while back lol
BELFIE It's going ok. He still fights me for the bottle alot of the time & he normally only drinks around 100 -130mls, 4 x a day. Occaisionally he'll take more. I'm hoping it's still just him getting use to the bottle
AMANDA How's Julian? Getting better? School holidays with sick kids must be a pita. I hope they all improve for you
FLUFF Funny enough I was just thinking the other day that Jack must be crawling cause he's been cammo crawling for so long now. BJ is only a few days away too. He has crawled a couple of times, but most of the time he gets his knees going but not his hands & falls onto his chest
TANYA Yay on the cammo crawling. It's so cute to see hey. I'll let you know what happens to my breasts once I completely stop BF. I'm expressing once a day atm. As of tomorrow, I will do one breast a day for about 4 days, then I'll stop alltogether. I'm doing it real slow to avoid mastitis. One thing I already know, is that after BF they are definately heading south!
AMY How's everything going?
Where's Hollye been lately? She's changed her name I noticed last night.
Well today is my first day at work while DH is home looking after BJ. I'll be working at home all day today. I need to sort out the office & clean it out & working on the internet to compile a list of prospects!
Georgi -
- Thanks for the updates on Cheryl.
- I haven't gotten around to reading your thread about stopping b/f. But it sounds like you've thought long and hard about it so it must be the right thing to do. :) I must say I am now feeling rather lucky that M doesn't really have any teeth yet. I think if I was getting bitten I would seriously consider stopping bfing too.
- Hooray on BJ sleeping more. :) I still do a dream feed for Maya. Some days I just want to stop doing that feed. But at least it's formula so DH can do that one sometimes.
- Happy 10 months BJ! Where is time going?????
- hehe.. yeah I'd like to hear what happens to your breasts. I keep wondering if I'll have to get rid of all my old bras or not?
- What work are you doing? I hope you have a good day and your DH enjoys staying home with BJ.
Sami - ohh.. the boob drooping thing doesn't sound nice. Not looking forward to that. Sounds like Z is so chilled out. :) He'll prob end up like my DH (he's the 5th out of 5 kids). He just has no worries at all about anything. So chilled out! And yay on eating a tub of yoghurt. I still find M's eating is up and down. And she still really wants to feed herself but she's still not great at it.
Amanda - I hope your kids are feeling better soon.
fluff - Sounds like Jack is doing so well. :) Maya gets up on her hands and knees sometimes but doesn't do anything but rock on them. At least she can get around commando crawling and she's happier now. :)
belfie - The crawling is going well. She's getting quicker at it. :) Why the "noooooooooooooooooo"??
Hello to everyone else. :hello:
OMG .. I just had a heart attack!!!!! I put M down for a quick nap cos she was so grumpy. She never cries any more.. but after a little while she started complaining. Then she started crying and it was getting worse and worse.. and I was getting annoyed at her! I decided to wait a while. Well.. eventually I thought I can't leave her crying.. so went in there.. to see the sheet wrapped around and around her head and neck!!!!!!!!!! OMG!!!!!!! I am soooooooooooo glad she's OK! Now I think Thank God she was crying!!! I'm not using a sheet in the bed any more (I used one for 'tucking in' - even though she wears a sleeping bag now).
Anyway, as soon as I picked her up and got the sheet off from around her head she was all smiles and is happily crawling around as I write this. But gonna get off this puter to give her lots and lots and lots of big hugs and kisses. :)
ETA - It was one of those breathable sheets.. so there was prob no danger of anything. But it was still scary to see her face enveloped in it!
Holy crap Tanya, that would've scared the poo, poos out of me, glad she was alright :).
Georgi wow you are super organised already planning his party. Hollye is moving so is most probably waiting for the net to be connected.
Boys are slowly getting better, went to the park today and was there for a few hours, had a BBQ with some friends and had some newborn cuddles, was great, made me clucky though, watch out DH ;).
Will be meeting up with Renstar, Boomba and Combat Queen tomorrow, bit nervous but should be fun.
*Tanya* - oooh that's awful! What a fright for you. Xander always has sheets too, gosh I'd better be more careful.
AmandaJ - oooh clucky hey! Time is right for another one I reckon ;)
Georgi - that's a great setup with you working and Mr Mum. My DH is gonna have X for a day when I go back to work. Honestly I have no idea how he's gonna fit it in, but he reckons he can... I reckon he's in for a shock  but it's great he wants to do it.
Tanya - you're very observant. I've had some high BSL's this week - I checked one for curiosity and freaked cos it was a 10, and the highest I got when I was PG was in the 9's. So I've pretty much been freaking out about that. Had a fasting glucose this morning and if that's dodgy i'll be doing the 2 hour GTT. I've checked two fasting BSL's and they're dodgy on my monitor (over 6). I'm just hoping I'll only be impaired glucose/pre-diabetic rather than fully diabetic. Doing the diabetic diet with my current diet was hell last year.
Went back to see our paed today... and we got antihistamines! YAY! he basically said that X's skin is waaaaaay too irritated and needs stronger cream and an antihistamine to get everything under control. It hasn't been that bad, but slowly getting worse, and of course today it looked TERRIBLE which made me feel like the original bad-mummy... but it was handy we were there at least. So now it's eczema cream on... wait 20 mins then moisturiser on... every change  so that'll be a right PITA but hopefully it'll help. X hates changes cos he get's so itchy (and we have to sock his hands cos he scratches so much)... so if we could improve that... oh it would be bliss. And we'll be doing allergy testing down the track. Oh and he weighed in at 9.94kg which helped the case for the antihistamines (zyrtec FYI).
Oh and I'm starting him on one FF/day tomorrow as I prepare to stop expressing. What a week, and it's only Tuesday!
Np personals, no brain to do it - up too early - Z woke at 5.20 - fed him, and got him back to sleep but then R woke up and DH is away so I thought I better not go back to sleep in case I dont wake up again until like 8am! - which would make it impossible to get out the door with everyone in time for school etc. So, buggered!
Z has been taking the sipper attachment on the avent bottles with the plastic pulled off the back (to make it free flowing) in the afternoon, avg 100mls. So whilst it is not considered a full feed, if he has that twice a day at child care I will be happy. He still wants me about an hour later, but I have been trying to distract him and go for a quick walk or something - worked. But he hasnt been eating the last two days (bit of a cold too I think) - not even his all time reliable my home made vege soup - I did change it the other day and put some garlic and did chicken in it too - sneaky bugger LOL.
5.5 weeks before i go back to work, I am starting to feel a bit stressed about it - need a new suit, some new shoes, and I hate shopping with kids in tow.
Z just woke again, better get him up.
We are off to the Blue mountains for a few days family/school holiday break next week - need it ;)
back later
Amanda - Ohh.. I'm getting clucky too. A few of my friends are having babies now. So are you thinking of having another one? Or undecided at the moment?
belfie - I am no longer using sheets any more. I'm too scared to. She sleeps fine without them. Ohh.. I didn't even know your BSL were still a possible problem. Have you continued to check them regularly since being pregnant? I hope it all turns out OK. And poor X with all the itchiness. I hope his skin improves.
Sami - I hope you got more sleep last night. A holiday sounds nice. I haven't had one since July last year.
My DH is still working a 9 day fortnight so I made him take yesterday off and I went to the hairdressers. My hair has been annoying me and I wanted it cut shorter. Now it's annoying me cos it's hitting me in the face. LOL Hopefully I'll get used to it soon.
I've got a friend coming over today with her two kids. So I should get going and clean up the place.
Just a quickie from me... I'm meant be working
BJ is crawling. He started a couple of days ago.
He's not taking his bottles. Only about 4 x 100mls, but is still happy on the BLS & eating well
Went to the toy sale this morning. Bought BJ the Clone wars tent... He loves it, crawling in & out of it. Also bought DH the world globe from Big W, for fathers day
I joined Weight Watchers today. Went to the meeting. Want to lose 12kgs. Joined the online membership too
Stopped expressing two days ago. Have sore lumps in my right side. Hope it doesn't turn into mastitis
Am enjoying work but haven't got fully into it yet as all the sales tools etc aren't quite ready yet.
DH has realised how tough it is being a SAHM (or dad) & said he needs to help me more around the house in future lol.
BBL
 My DH has said that he could never be a SAHD cos it's much harder than going to work. Also recently he was ill and getting ready for work and I said "why don't you stay home" and he said "but it's easier if I go to work cos I can bludge there. If I stay home I feel like I should be helping you cos there's so much to do". Which is kinda nice he knows how much work I do.. but also sad that he feels he can't stay home when sick.
Tanya - I'm not supposed to be checking my BSL's anymore, and I normally don't - but I felt a bit off colour, so checked anyway (cos i never had the follow-up GTT I was supposed to )... then I kept checking cos it was so much higher than expected! Anyway back & forth to docs this week and it's all ok! YAAAAAY. I'm still high risk, and I need to lose more weight, get fit etc etc... but while I might be NEARLY at the impaired glucose tolerance range, doc said really it doesn't increase my risk any higher than it already was, namely - high! So I've just gotta keep being good but doc was very happy I'd already lost 6kg with no medical advice/support/recommendations or anything. And I'm just gonna keep an eye on my BSL's, and then I don't have to do the stupid 2 hr GTT again for a bit. Lol re hubby not wanting to stay at home sick. I reckon that's good, you don't need a baby and a bout of man-flu to deal with as well!
My DH is gonna do 1 day of looking after X when I got back to work. That'll be interesting
Georgi - woo hoo on BJ crawling, that's awesome! Hope your lumps have gone away and GL with WW. I'm still on the online WW but I haven't done much with it (oops!). Gotta get back on the wagon.
SamiH - I'm thinking Saturday shopping and hubby can mind the kids. shop till you drop then hairdresser... and DH can have a trial of Z with the bottle ;)
Well we tried the zyrtec - omg AWESOME! red blotchy irritable scratchy child gone.... happy cute normal-coloured only a bit itchy child back! Plus the new cream has done wonders for his eczema. We're still not out of the woods, cos he still scratches at every opportunity, but heaaaaps better! yay! And I still love winter, cos he's rugged up so he can't get to his flesh (mostly!).
