Csab...am soo glad to hear little V is getting back to her normal self :)
well...this morning Jack was climbing up the coffee table...and slipped on a toy...BANG went his mouth against the coffee table....tooth through lip :( all good...now though thank god!!!! then this afternoon...after NOT sleeping any longer than 15mins all up today...he slept on mumma for an hour...then temps started...38.7 sooo into the bath we go...he lay on me the whole time in the bath and was nearly falling asleep....once out of the bath he got the shivers....gave him some nurofen and put some bonjella on his newly cut tooth which was the cause...and he brightened up within 1/2hr...back into everything....
Sooo yes we now have the 5 teeth with no more in near site just yet....

I have read all your posts but I'll do personals another time. Just wanted to ask a quick question:
Maya keeps spontaneously crying and sometimes screaming. :( Just the last two days. With a cuddle she'll stop crying and then go back to her happy self till the next episode. They happen every so often. Does that sound like teething??
-
*Tanya* to 'ME' that is NOT something 'I' would associate with teething.... seperation anxiety maybe?? attention???
-
fluff - No I don't think the crying episodes are separation anxiety or attention because they can happen when I'm right there playing with her. I am going nutty trying to work out what's wrong. I keep trying to guess things but really I have no idea. It's as though she's in pain for brief periods of time occasionally. That's why I was wondering if it could possibly be teething pain. The other thing I've been wondering if it's hunger pain. She seems to suddenly be eating heaps and can't get enough. Maybe a possible growth spurt?! Oh .. who knows?!?! If only M could tell me what's wrong.
Poor Jack and his cut lip. :( Glad to hear he's OK. And poor Jack and his teething pain. Hope he's feeling better today.
csab - I am so thrilled that V is OK. I know she'll put the weight back on and then some. :) M is getting weighed next week. I don't think she has put much weight on. I don't think she'll ever be on the charts. But she seems so happy and healthy. I love the new pic of V in your sig. I haven't tried uploading pics into BB for ages now. So can't help you there. Do you have a FB account? That's where I put pics of M now. It would be great to see pics of V so I hope you can work something out.
Georgi - How exciting about the clapping, kissing and standing! Did you do anything to teach him to clap and kiss?
Well.. my little M is now 9 months!! And still grumpy on and off. Wish I knew what was wrong. Poor girl.
-
Tanya - trust your mummy instinct, could be that it's teeth or hunger like you say. The only other thing I could think of, is it frustration? Is she trying to do something or get somewhere? X definitely gets a bit frustrated now with trying to crawl but only going about 1-2 inches  And happy 9 months to Maya! :cheer:
fluff-a-holic - oh poor little Jack with the cut lip! Glad to hear he brightened up again.
csab - ooh you've got a cheeky little mite there with that giggle - that's so cute! I'm so thrilled she's on the mend, such a scare for you. And I don't know what you're complaining about in the news item, you're looking great! It's lovely I can picture you now when I read your words. She's teeth twinnies with X too - they're both on 6 :D
Georgi - clever BJ with the clapping! I'm trying to make sure I'm starting to show X clapping, I keep forgetting lol
SamiH - hope you had a nice time away :)
Amy_O - how are you? hope you're going well
Teru - hope the eczema is staying away and yay for delaying work hey! I was so thrilled once I got the ok... I feel like I've got 4 weeks annual leave... only with no pay & with a baby hahahaha!
Nothing major happening here.... just same old same old. X is eating more and more and has dropped his bottles a bit. We're finally onto the "normal" routine, bottle first & solids second so that's great. He's only done one big vomit recently and that was after gagging on a piece of rusk, so not too bad. We're starting to do some finger food again too... but atm he won't even put it in his mouth lol! We were out at MG yesterday and I was feeding him solids in my lap, and just when he had a facefull he turned around and smooshed it all over my chest! Nice look, i'm soooo elegant
-
belfie - I feel like my mummy instinct isn't working in regards to M's crying at the moment. :( I'm just guessing. Happily she was a bit happier yesterday. :) I don't think it's frustration because I've seen her when she is frustrated and this crying is different. She keeps crying out during the night now too.. just for a couple of minutes so I don't go in. But that's really odd too. That's why I do wonder if it's pain?!
I've been wondering how many milk feeds is everyone's babies having now? Like X, M also seems to be having less milk and more solids. She always has her morning bm. Now she mostly rejects her lunch bm. She usually has a good afternoon feed but can sometimes reject that too. And sometimes she'll take an evening feed but not always. So some days she'll only have one proper bm feed a day. and it really worries me cos I know she should be having at least 3 a day I think? I am still giving her a dream feed which she also wasn't taking and thought about dropping it. Dropped it for one night and then felt guilty - next night she ate heaps again. So now she's having that feed again. Anyway, just wondering how many milk feeds other babies are having?
Tonight I'm going out to dinner with my husband for the first time in who knows when!! :) For our belated 10 year anniversary (which was back in May). Ah well.. better late than never I say. I am nervous though cos it's my MIL who is going to look after M and she doesn't listen to me and does her own thing. I know I just have to let it go and not think about it to have a good night. But still have the nerves at the moment. I am excited about going out though. :) :)
-
Jack is still having 4 feeds of 200mls a feed plus 3 meals a day and snacks..
although he doesn't always finish his bottle usually leaves about 30-50mls..but can also guzzle the lot...just depends on him...
-
Just when you were all convinced I had fallen off the face of the earth I am here!!
Just been a mad world the last few weeks. I will give you the bullet update...
* Miss Bethany is crawling and pulling herself up on furniture and just adorable really. She now has one day a week at family day care cause I was having major Bipolar problems. I find though that even though my Bipolar has settled I am a better mum for having that break. Besides she loves it! She is a big fan of eating the sandpit and does amazing works of art. Get your bids in for a Bethany original cause I promise they will be worth millions!!
* We saw the pead about her small vaginal opening. It isn't a small vagainal opening but a completely fused labia minor. We are looking a surgery but it is complex. Will probably have to happen at townsville. She had an ultrasound too and that showed she may be missing an ovary and part of her vagina. So we need an MRI before we go further. We see the pead again on Monday.
*My mummy is up from Newcastle and that makes me very happy :D cause she cooks good!
*CASB I saw you on the news and got really excited, DH and my mum were a little confussed but I blew kisses at the TV to you and little V
I think that sums it all up in a nut shell. If you think of us on Monday send good vibes our way, these are some big decisions and things that may affect Bethany for life. I am feeling the weight of that.
 to all mwah

Hi everyone
Not going to go back through the past few days - so just recently ...
Tanya - hmmmm does sound like some wind pain perhaps for Maya? I know that sounds like a cop-out, but seriously think about when we have it - it really does hurt! Is there somethign new in her diet that could be causing it - or something you have started to eat again?
And Zander still has 4 feeds a day. All you can do is offer though hun, if she doesnt take much - not much we can do! Back to making sure she has enough wet nappies hey - sounds like another cop-out from me  - but all true. And Z still only has 2 bottom teeth as well.
Georgi - Zander has been clapping on cue for about 2 weeks as well - cracks me up when he pokes himself in the eye - but mind you he has 4 mad people around him trying to get him to do it so peer pressure he succumbed! He also open mouth kisses, which is not very lovely if I have put makeup on to go out or something and have drool all down my cheek:rolleyes:
Cheryl - dear cheryl - I cant imagine how you are feeling at the moment - have you had any rest??? It puts everything else into perspective when something like this happens, and as you wrote in your other thread - so happy and relieved she was well enough to come home ...
Belfie - WOOT on the crawling hey! As I said, Zander still likes to contemplate everything lol - but is rocking so in his own time - but I hope it is over the next 3 weeks before he starts child care so he can get his own toys! Zander seems a bit immature to me - like a month or two younger if that makes sense - I mean gut-wise, feeding-wise, moving etc - sounds ridiculous now I have typed it out - but I think you gals know what I mean. Yet he does other things before my other kids have well and truly!
fluff - thanks for the timely reminder of all the bruises to come! You forget how often they tumble over the next 6 months - I often joked to childc are when I dropped Giselle off that they would call DOCS on me cos she had so many bruises at once
amy - Poor Bethany and mummy - such a tiring couple of weeks. I hope you enjoy your day once a week and do something deserving and not just clean the house!!!
Hi to teru :D
Our time away was good, without going into too much detail like how great the spa was, having a huge roaring fire at night to doze in front of, and watching the mist roll in and out of the mountains every hour - we needed it. I didnt realise how ill I was until the day before we left when I had BF issues - but they have resolved . However DH has been sick the last 3 days - so I felt recuperated - but because he has been unable to do anything, I have been running around doing everything again (not a whinge, just a fact) - I feel rundown again already .
AND
Zander has been off today too and had his first ever spew tonight - proper spew not just a milky spill - he has never been spewy - his temp is fine but he has a yucky cough that I will have to watch overnight cos it sounds a bit barky .... and something is up cos he has only gone down for like 15 mins at a time today - yet the last 2 weeks every time he has gone to bed he has slept for a minimum of an hour, even being dragged around everywhere this week.
-
Yup, Xander is crawling :baby: i'm soooo stupidly excited! He's pretty unco, and gets frustrated very quick (mainly due to his exceeedingly slow pace!) and then just gives up and rollls again :rofl:it's just sooo gorgeous tho, makes me clucky all over again!
SamiH - that's great you had such a nice break. So does DH have the man-flu now? ;) and at what point do little boys grow up to big boys and get man-flu? That's interesting re Z and his development. I reckon X was like that with food. He just was not there early on. X says to Z pls don't spew it's not cool! (mind u, X did a HUGE one the other week, he was not happy :()
Amy - welcome back hun! sorry you've had such a tough couple of weeks, and I hope you can get everything sorted in regard to the fused labia minor. I can only imagine how stressful dealing with that is, and I'm so glad your mum is up to give you hand (loved having my mum around earlier this year - mums are great! :D). Will be thinking of you on Monday.
Tanya - Xander was on about 4 feeds of 200ml, but has recently started dropping a feed (and a nap - down to 2 now, probably about time), so we're trying to up the feeds a bit, because sometimes he wakes at 11pm hungry otherwise, 200ml is a lot to drop out of a day for a little tacker!
I assembled 4 flat-packed bookshelves yesterday afternoon. I think it's the equivalent of doing 3 hours of gym workouts... I'm feeling some muscles today! Woulda been really good for me apart from the chocolate I was snacking on...
-
Amy - It's good to see you again. :) I'm sorry you've been having a tough time and sorry to hear about bethany. I will be thinking of you both on Monday.
sami - I think you could be right re: wind pain. The crying seemed to settle on Friday. I think it might have been some food I was giving her for a couple of days and the crying was only on those days. I stopped the food because she was shoving it all in her mouth and would leave it there. But now looking back I think it's what was causing her pain. I hope Z and your DH are doing better today.
belfie - Yay on the crawling. :) And PROPERLY crawling too. How exciting. :) I know what you mean about getting hugely excited and getting all clucky.. cos I have something I am very excited to report about Maya....
Yesterday she sat up all on her own - twice!! I was so excited. :) Oh and I've also noticed she's getting up on her knees differently - pulling them more up under herself. So I'm wondering if she'll properly crawl soon??
I had a great time out with DH last night. I had two glasses of wine though and I am feeling ill today. Boo.. no tolerance any more! I didn't worry about Maya at all.. but once we'd been out for 3 1/2 hours I did want to get back home. And found out that after we left Maya did a big spew :( So my MIL had to change her and give her a bath. We think Maya spewed cos she swallowed some bit of rubbish off the ground. I just can't keep up with her. She's always swallowing bits of rubbish before I can get them out. :( Anyway, she seems fine today so I don't think she's ill thankfully. She was sound asleep when we got home. So I was happy with how my MIL handled everything. :)
We are having people over today for a BBQ and a listen to the hottest 100. So I better go finish getting the place ready.
-
Tanya - So glad you had a wonderful night out with your DH. Yay for Maya getting up on her hands and knees, wont be long now. How exciting. Yayyyy Maya. You go baby girl. Enjoy your BBQ today. I feel like I want a BBQ.. yummo. Please let us know how Maya goes with her weigh in, V gets weighed on Tuesday at her visit with the Pead. I am expecting he may want to see her more often until she starts putting the weight on that she lost. I too dont think V will ever be on the charts, maybe V and Maya can share the same graph. :) They are just small bubs, you never know they may just surprise us all of a sudden. The dietician at the hospital put V on extra calories. It called Poly-joule, I will let you know how it goes, and if it helps V.
Belfie - Yay for Little X crawling, I am so exvited for you and little X. I think I have a bit of a wait before V decides to get moving. She has no interest atm in trying anything, except having everyone cart her around the house. hehehe. I had finally got V upto drinking 200ml in a hit every now and then until she got sick, now I am lucky if she finishes 150ml. She definately missed her food tho. Ohh and thanks for thinking I looked great on telly, how embarrassing it was, when they approached me, I was like, What on TV!!!!! Ummm Yes!!!! Ohhh Nooo, I thought. Then they had Kevin Wilde come and introduce himself, and I thought OMG are you tall or what? I felt even more shorter than what I already am. Yet he was lovely and talked me into it. Then I kept asking can I at least fix myself up abit. They said ohh you look fine, my hair wasnt even done, I needed a shower, and I was up all night and felt exhausted from everything. I dont even think I expressed myself the way I would have liked about what happened and they had cut most of it out anyway. They probably showed the worse. hehehe Yay for V and X being teeth twinnies. How cool. I am so looking forward to V being a crawling buddy too.
Sami - Thankyou hun, I definately feel blessed to still have little V, I honestly had moments where I couldnt get this image out of my head not having her around anymore. I had to keep shaking it away. I tried so hard to keep them at bay. Sorry to hear little Z isnt well, I hope he gets better soon, as well as your DH. At least you were able to recuperate for a little bit any way while being away. One thing with families tho, especially big ones, once one is sick it travels right around the whole family until it starts al over again. Yay for Z clapping his hands, how cute even the open mouth kisses. When in hospital I would show V the phone and would have the pics of the family on it. She would laugh and stare and get all excited. I would call DH and put him on loud speaker so V could hear and she leaned over and kissed the phone and would get excited and laugh listening to him.. It was soooo cute. Then when she heard my sister on the phone the same thing, with the kiss. Hasnt done it since tho. She would giggle and tap the phone when listening to the kids too.
Amy - Ohhh hunni, I really am praying that all turns out well for little Bethany, ho stressful for you. I will be definately thinking of you and Bethany on Monday, fingers crossed you get some good news. with you getting excited seeing V and I on the news. I am sure your DH and mum must have thought whats going on. Thankyou for that btw, and for the kisses. It loks odd seeing yourself on TV.... Dh kept saying my chin was shiney, hahahaha Boofhead he is. Ohhh and yay for Bethany crawling, woohoo......
fluff- Thankyou, gee is Jack doing well, climbing already, what a champ your little man is. Nothing holding him down thats for shore.
Georgi - How is little BJ going, and yourself. Hope your having a great weekend. hugs
Well, V is alseep atm, and is still quite nasally so hoping she doesnt get any worse. Still cheeky as ever, she has this smile that melts your heart. hugs
-
Don't you hate it when you wake up wayyyy before your baby does? Grrrr... I've been awake since 5.30am & BJ is still stleeping. How annoying! He's been a good sleeper lately. His day sleeps have improved heaps too.
My weightwatchers is going great! I lost 1.8kgs last week. This is my second week. Yummy mummy.... here I come.
BJ does the funniest thing when he crawls. Sometimes he has a ball or toy in one hand & doesn't want to let it go, so he crawls around holding it which means he uses his elbow on that arm. It's like a half cammo crawl lol. We just tell him to let the toy go, but he doesn't he he he.
TANYA That's great Maya is sitting on her own. It does sound like she's only a few weeks away from crawling. When BJ was at that stage I just made sure he had heaps & heaps of time on the floor. I saw improvements daily. Even now, I can see his progress each day. It didn't take much for BJ to learn to clap. And for the kisses we have just done it for ages, saying give me a kiss & puckering up to him. Then one day he just leant in for it
CSAB BJ is going great. Has V settled in now? BJ doesn't drink 200ml bottles. He won't even drink 150ml every time. He still has 4 bottles a day because I can't get him to drink more than 150ml. I'm hoping he'll start taking more soon so I can drop a feed. Oh yeah, the clip they showed up here on the GC news wasn't as much as the one on the Sydney news. But the funny thing was that they were talking about how bad the flu was going around here in QLD so they didn't mention where you were from lol. They must've thought your interview was great to use it all over australia lol
He's just woken up... BBL for the rest of personals sorry!
-
Ok first of all sorry that I haven't been posting lately, have been totally exhausted, with kids on school holidays and trying to keep them occupied... but they will be back at school tomorrow so yay for me .
We've laybyed everything for christmas and the 4 boys birthdays that are towards the end of the year, we've got the older boys scooters for their birthdays and bikes for christmas, plus other things as well.
Julian has had an infected toe for the last two weeksand has been on antibiotics and now has an ointment, it's getting better slowly. He is nowgetting up on his knees and yesterday stood up twice and this morning he crawlled properly for a bit then went back to commando crawlling....cheeky little man .
-
Well I took the boy to the docs this arvo - 2 days of 38+ temps and miserable as a sad sack - but all viral - so whilst it is good, she did say if temps for the next two days to bring him back again for more checking. She was very thorough too - I think she knew cos being my 3rd child, I was going on mummy instinct that something just wasnt right.
Also cos I have been doing Nurofen/paracetomol rollovers for 2 days i told her i didnt want to give him anymore LOL - she said the warning is on the boxes to make sure carers get their kids looked at after two days and dont just keep medicating them .... I never knew that!
Upside is he had a couple of tablespoons of vegies for dinner and one of custard - but his cloth 3 hour nappy before bed was practically dry so that is a worry too - so more feeding overnight whenever he wakes - which is work for me too! Anyway, i hope he starts to feel better tomorrow - I cuddled with him for 2 hours on the couch and let him snooze snuggled in to me, the best sleep he has had for 3 days i reckon.
A friend dropped off a big shepherds pie for dinner tomorrow night cos she knew I was struggling with having a monkey permanently attached, my dad and wife visiting arriving today, and school holidays etc - I love my friends big time xxx
-
csab - Maya's paed put her on poly-joule too. I did post about it at the time but you probably don't remember cos it was about 3 months ago! We were using it in her dream feed bottle only - one scoop. She used to take 120mls at that feed but for the last few weeks has only been having 20 to 60mls so she'd be having a lot less poly-joule now. So last week I started putting it in her morning cereal (not sure if that is a bad thing to do or not). I forget some days to use it though. Anyway, I found that when she was having it consistently she put on more fat but didn't grow more iykwim. She's now leaner again since she hasn't been having as much of it. So she probably hasn't put on as much weight this month. But last two months she did have big weight gains and I do attribute it to the poly-joule. I hope it helps V get back on track. How was her weigh in today? M's weigh in is on Thursday.
Georgi - I realise I haven't spent much time clapping with Maya. I shower her in kisses regularly of course but never ask her to give me a kiss. I might start doing both those things now. How's the work going?? I have finally sorted out the details of the at home work I found and was just emailed the work. It'll be interesting to see how it goes!
Sami - I hope Z is feeling heaps better now. Sounds like he is doing better on solids now. Maybe once he's well he'll be onto solids. :( What a nice friend bringing dinner round. I had the opposite last night. A friend rang me in tears cos her partner left her so I invited her round for dinner and some 'Maya cuddles' . :)
Amanda - I hope Julian's toe is better soon. How did that happen?
I read back over my last post and I realised I might not have been clear about Maya's sitting. She has been sitting on her own for ages now. But on the weekend she went from her tummy into a sitting position on her own! Unfortunately I haven't seen her do it since then. Boo! So i don't know if that means she's forgotten or can't be bothered.
I've decided to cut back her solid feeds a bit. TBH I have no idea how much I should be feeding her and tend to just keep trying to shove it in. So I've decided that when she starts playing I will stop trying to feed her. I am hoping then she'll take more BM cos that's been a big stress of mine that she's not getting enough BM. She did drink a bit more BM yesterday so I'll see how it goes over the next couple of days. Though my other stress is that then she won't be having enough food. :wall: And she could use the food! Is there guidelines on how much solids babies should be eating when?
-
Hi all just a quick one, have a massive headache but I am way to excited about V's weight gain, so wanted to share it with you all.
In one week, V went from 4.84kg to a wonderful 5.24kg, cant believe it I am so happy with that weight gain, she has never pulled off a weight gain like that before.
Tanya - This poly joule seems to have done wonders for V's weight this week, I honestly cant believe it. Sorry but I must have missed you mentioning poly joule before. Goodluck for Thursday appt, I hope Maya has a good weight gain too. hugs
-
csab - That's fantastic news about V's weight. Yep that poly-joule is magical stuff. :)
Are you all planning on having big first birthday parties for your bubs? I have started to think about what I might do for Maya and how many people I might invite and when I told DH tonight he was super shocked at how many people I was thinking we'd invite - friends + family. He says he doesn't want a big first bday party for M and what's the point cos she won't remember it anyway. But I'd love to do something for her. My other problem is what to do. I'd love to have it at home but our place isn't big enough for the amount of people I was thinking we'd invite. What are you all planning to do for your bubs?
