lol well the hair-tearing aside those pics are gorgeous, and yours too Tanya.

Teruteru, re the portable bottle warmer... thread is here, but no-one else has added anything yet (apart from the first response)... I'm waiting with bated breath lol.

Tanya - totally agree re the settling thing. I have two babies I think... one who sleeps a CRAZY amount and the other who is wide-awake and just wants to lie in the same room as me & stare at the lights.... and I don't know why I get one baby or the other!

Katones - obviously babylegs are cute & brightly striped... is it a brandname? Or a very specific type of garment? I'm intrigued... and I'm a sucker for anything new I can buy for my boy
EDIT: ok I just googled babylegs... OMG they are so cute!!!!! Me want!!!!

Btw... OMG Xmas is in two weeks time!!!!!!

Hey.. Just a quickie from me. My GF is up from Sydney so i'll be busy hanging out with her over the next few days.

I just wanted to say... Yay, Byron finally took EBM from a bottle today. I'm gonna try again tomorrow & see how we go. I think Sami was right, don't do it for the night feed.

TANYA It does sound like she may be getting too much. Doesn't matter though. Byron always vomits if he feeds for more than 30mins. So now I just take him off at 30mins. I definately think the laying back helps. I have a recliner though, it's so easy. Most of the times I feed laying down. That's another option for you. It's also meant to slow down the flow. Since I've been doing it this way he feeds for much longer, though sometimes he's too comfortable & falls asleep.

belfie - PP online is great, I buy a lot of clothes for my kids after season for the next year - stuff that doesn't date like jeans and t-shirts (not so much Riley anymore cos PP doesn't stock Ben 10 or Transformers )

Katones - I looked at pics briefly, never heard of babylegs, will have to have a looksee tomorrow.

Georgi - yay for the bottle - I haven't tried since Dh fed him on Saturday when I was out, just a bit slack and can't be bothered expressing as I don't have a need. Have fun with your GF!!

Well I finished my christmas shopping just gotta organise the food now and I am done.

My son came home with 3 party invitations yesterday - for December!!! I assume kids are having theirs late/early whilst people are around - so 2 on 20/12 and one on 21/12 - so whilst I have finished christmas shopping, have to buy these ones now.

Quickie - going back to bed, I have cut my 10 minute post feed wait to 5 minutes as he hasn't needed any attention for the past 2 weeks. *sigh* just love him so much.

SamiH - congrats on finishing your Christmas shopping that's great!

Hollye - thinking of you today. Mwah.

DH is home sick today so I'm hoping to leave X with him and head out & finish my Xmas shopping too. We just put him down in his cot for the first time!!! Aaaaw he just looks so sweet & little (but strangely big too IYKWIM) sleeping in a bigger bed!! I think my big boy and my little boy have stolen my heart and run away with it... and tbh, I don't want it back!

katones - :hugs: I hope you are having a better afternoon!

    PP - Welcome back.

Georgi - Yeah I find if I feed lying down it takes a lot longer and often Maya will fall asleep. If I'm very tired in the morning I often feed lying down so that I can keep on dozing and sometimes Maya will fall asleep and we both end up sleeping in together.

belfie - How'd your Xmas shopping go?

Well it was raining most of the day and I really wanted to get out, so I went to a shopping centre. And I ended up buying Maya some clothes from Target in the 20% off sale! She already has heaps of clothes that were given to her (lots of hand me downs from her cousins) and doesn't really need anything. But it's nice to buy something that I have chosen for her. I got her a nice little outfit to wear to a 1st bday party this Sunday!

She hasn't slept much at all today though - a little sleep in the car on the way there and a little sleep in her pram. I put her down now and she's had about half an hour so far. I'm hoping she won't be too tired cos tonight we are going out to a restaurant to celebrate FIL's bday! I'm already picturing a screaming baby and me not being able to eat. I know I should think positive! It'll be the first time going out for dinner with her!

OK gotta go and get myself ready!

aaah the shops are foul now! I didn't get all my xmas shopping done, I just wasn't in the right headspace. So I grabbed the bare minimum & fled. The rest is just gonna be done online! Let your fingers do the walking... so much easier!

Tanya - I hope dinner with FIL goes ok, sending good vibes your way.

PP - it's lovely to have you back and glad you're feeling better

Katones - aaww hun sorry to hear you're having a bad day - sending you a big big and hoping it get's better for you. Message for Jack "your mummy would really love it if you could just smile at her and then sleep happily for a few hours to give her a break... can you do it for us now please?"

    hi to everyone else

    QUiet in here today ........

Good day despite the rain - Friday's I have a standing coffee after school drop off with one of my bestie's - we then came home, Zander fed, went to bed at 11am, and got up at 2pm! I had to resettle after the first 40 minutes, he kinda lays there awake but quiet for 15 minutes and then goes back to sleep!! (I been spying on him ). So DD and I could do puzzles, lunch, girlie toe nail polish - it was good to spend some quality time with her again.

He then slept after school pick-up for an hour, and then for 30 minutes in the sling whilst I was getting the other ready for bed - what a great little fella he has been today!!.

I need to do my non-perishable christmas food shopping this weekend - am procrastinating so better go and write that list - boring!

Wishing you all a good night

    Hi guys

PP: I keep needing time off from bellybelly too. I hope you're feeling better, but my guess is you'll have another foul day. I have them all the time. Feel free to chat with me, I'm not going to one-up you with my baby.

I went to a mother's group with some women from my antenatal class today. It was nice to hang with some other mothers but it continues to be really hard that everyone's baby's sleep for hours and hours at night except for my baby. No matter how resigned I am, 2am is tough. Everyone says "go to mothers group, you'll see you're not having the worst time," but when it comes to sleep I am yet to meet or hear about anyone having a worse time.

On the bright side Jude was so cute today, smiling and laughing at me while the other babies took turns to cry. I just wish he'd sleep from time to time. All afternoon I've been trying to settle him, but he won't sleep. He's just staring into space for hours. I've played with him, he gets tired, I put him to bed, he won't sleep.

I finished my christmas shopping today. That's that done.

kuraiza - not too sure what you mean by this comment. We all have bad days but I think it is important to share and celebrate the good ones as well. The thing is not to focus on only the bad days and if you find you are and cannot find any joy in motherhood, please go back and speak with your doc.

Re 2am - until 2 weeks ago Zander still fed between 2 & 3 - so you are not alone - the last week it has changed to mostly 4am - I think most of us are still up feeding babies at during the night??

    HI girls

Kur - thanks babe. Its ok. i just had a moment of reading negative and judgemental posts on a different thread and needed to have a few days off to clear the negative energy! i hate feeling angry and upset over an internet forum! but i am back now

and WOhoo for laughs! how wonderful. I often think E is about to but still jsut smiles! it must be beautiful to hear the giggles!

Sami H - Well ethan has had 2 good nights - woke at 4am but i resettled with his dummy. it has worked so far then he wakes for a morning feed between 5-6. i will continue doing this i think (no change or feed).. and see if i can get him to sleep through completely . Have you tried this?? i mean i am still up for 1/2 hr but i am hoping to slowly get him out of the habit of waking for a feed.

Belf - i am over the shops too... mostly the postoffice where you have to stand in a tiny narrow row with 30 people in line with 2 screaming kids - one which wants to pull everything off the shelves as we walk so slowly down the aisle!!!

Kat - i have days like that too. ethan will have maybe 1- 2 good sleeps a day. i have changed things the past 3 days and it has improved. I have his cradle swing in my room with the radio on and it made a big difference as DD doesnt wake him with her screams now! *hugs* babe... p.s where did you get that xmas nappy!

Tanya - thanks hun - how was dinner??

Well on the upside Julian has been sleeping from 6:30/7pm until about 6/6:30am for the last two days which I must admit has been great, but on the downside he's been having crap day sleeps, which I think is why the long night sleeps, very vicious cylce, lol.

kurazia sweety we all have bad days, believe me when I say that most of us with more then one have been where you are now and we have been lucky this time around, and it is a bonus for us and we are happy and would like to share with our baby buddies, people that we can share anything with. I hope that Jude starts to sleep a bit more for you, it will happen, I know it doesn't seem it but it will.

Not sure what we're doing today, I know that Lockie has a birthday party tomorrow at 11 at a park so will have to take Julian and it's most probably going to be another hot day so will see how long we stay.

    hugs xoxo

    Hello
Busy busy here yesterday, ended up being out all day but Bethany was a little angel!! When we got home some friends rang and we took Bethany over for her first swim, She loved it!!! So cute I will have to upload the photos later. Later this afternoon we are off on a picnic for church on the espanade but the rest of the day will be in here in the cool!!

PP~~Glad you are back, I happend upon some of that thread and not surprised you needed to clear your head!

Sami~~ What a good boy Z was!! Still waking here for feeds, but slowly getting better. Usually around the 3-4am mark.

Kurazia~~ If I have learnt anything the past weeks it is that being a mummy is so much harder than I ever even imagined!! We all have the good the bad and the ugly and often all in a 24 hr period. Noone trys to say their baby is better or worse, they are individuals just like the mummy's who love them. I don't like or agree with all the mums in my MG, some of them have babies that sleep through other do different things that wouldn't suit me but just getting out and being with someone who knows what it is like not to have a shower for 2 days is enough! I don't think the whole mummy thing is meant to be smile and giggles all the time but there should be good times, if you don't feel that talk to your GP or MHCN or someone. You only have these little ones little for so short a time you don't want to miss a moment because of something that can be treated. And I am not just talking PND, you might have low iron or something else making you feel tried and frustrated.

Ok well off to have a read and enjoy the peace....DH and baby sleeping....ahh the solitude...or the illusion of solitude....

I am too gutless yet - I will give him until the new year then get tough - yeah right!!! Last week he did wake at 12.30am once and I said no WAY is he having a feed, so tried a dummy, and then he woke again at 3 so I was ok with that. Do you go back to bed if Ethan feeds at 5 - 6ish? Unfortunately for me that is a worse time (yeah, sounds dumb I know) cos I am just drifting back to sleep when the other two get up and have to get up anyway for school etc. So a 4am feed is fine cos I can still get at least another hour zzzzzz time in ..... does your DD need much during the night?

Amandaj - yep I agree I think I have been lucky this time around - my DD whilst gorgeous was a mine field of stress from her feeding, happy chucking, crap sleeping - so I think he has been sent to me to make up for her Lucky she is so cute ....

amy - i have a friend who is on leave until the end of Jan and she has a pool, so when hot I am planning on camping at her house during the week! I can't wait to take Zander into the water and see what he thinks about it all ....

Oh,, and if i don't get to have a shower in the morning - which does occasionally happen even 3rd time around, I slap on some make-up and try to hold my head up at the shops so nobody notices - oh, and clean clothes helps too .....

We have a local community chrisstmas thingy on here at 4.30 - twilight jumping castle, santa, animals etc - but it is soooooooooooooooooooooooooo windy here I don't know whether if it is worthwhile. We went to local club wih friends for lunch and the walk is about 300m but past an open paddock - poor Zander likely to have a bit of wind with all the air-gulping he did - and he still didn't cry - what a little trooper!!

No i am up with Ethans feed. I consider this a morning feed. DH is up at 6am for work and DD wakes at 6am when she hears him up anyhow. so our day starts at 6! lol

Ashley luckily sleeps through. She hasnt woken in the night for quite a while now (since last teething stage). so lucky to not have to worry about her just yet!

Amy_o Thanks hun! i would love to go for a swim it is sooo hot. Ashley has been havin swimming lessons but i didnt go in with her as it was to soon after birth and i had 2 degree tears etc. but hoping soon to take Ethan in for a dip!!!

Amanda - rain hit you yet? It is sooo hot here. we are all hiding in the room with air con lol!
