ethans head is still floppy kat. BUt if i have him on my shoulder like i am burping him... he can hold it upright like a soldier standing tall for a few seconds.

But i put it down to his a a belly sleeper and gets 10-12 hours belly time a day to practice neck strengthening.

i think usually the head isnt head up fully till 5months... does that sound right?

well we are still struggling to drink most of our bottle...
this morning he left 60mls... and just now he left another 60mls...
he gets to a certain point drinking and that is it..does NOT want a bar of it anymore...
I have just been on the phone with my husband in tears...i just don't know what to do..i get soo frustrated when he won't drink then we both end up in tears and he is screaming... he is sound asleep now...
We are off to the Drs later as i 'feel' something isn't right...

PP - Zander is fully b/f - his are like light brown verging on yellowish runny chunky peanut butter best way I could describe it.

katones - I think that MCHN has got you all stressed and worried hun. Jack not drinking all his bottle is fine, we aren't hungry all the time and neither are they - as long as he is still weeing and his lips arent looking dry (dehydration sign) - he is getting what he needs. I can't even tell how much Zander has so just have to trust him he knows when to stop. re the head thing, Zander holds his head up on belly for about a minute then collapses, tries again etc - but also depends on what time of day it is - I read my other kids scrapbooks and they were around 3 months when they could hold their heads up on their bellies for a good amount of time. But, I'm not too sure what the off to one side comment is about so yeah, get it checked if it is bothering you

Katones - Mia finishes her bottle mayb once every 2 weeks!!!! she also leave about 60 mls in the bottle and sometims she will leave 120mls! it used to stress me out too but it doesnt anymore. He might just be the same as Mia and like smaller meals a little more often. dont stress xxoxo

yep Mia holds her head up. We dont do it anymore. It still gets a little wobbly especially when she is tired but shes pretty good at holding her head up. i think its from when i used to burp her she kept trying to watch the telly! lol

Kat - how much are you giving him
perhaps you are trying too much?
if he is leaving 60 ml each time. i would make up 60ml less.
    how often is he feeding.?

PP i am making up the 180mls like it says for his age. Dr says to feed him abit more frequently...
Dr says my PND is getting worse by the looks of me... and wants me to have "me" time..
I dragged the basinnette out and he is sleeping in that in the lounge at the moment...

katones - Last time I went to the MCHN I saw a different woman and she told me that Maya's neck development was poor. She told me I need to do more tummy time. I felt like a bad mum! But Maya hates tummy time and I just don't want to force her to do it many times a day! So I only do it maybe once a day, sometimes not at all. Anyway, I was upset by the comment but actually I don't think Maya's neck development is bad! It's hard when people are trying to be helpful but every baby is different and I'm sure Jack will be fine. Oh and I can't see how much Maya is drinking cos I'm BF. But I swear she's been drinking less lately. Maybe it's because they have just finished a big growth spurt? She seems healthy and fine, so I am not worrying about it.

PP - Why the fascination with baby poo? Maya's poos change colour - anywhere from mustard yellow to green (not sure why that is?!) They are typically runny with bits in them! And she poos many times a day! Sometimes I think the milk is just going straight through her and is not digested at all!

Tanya - wondering if they thicken up a bit or stay squirt until solids start thats all. they were thicker today with ethan. LIke a paste rather than water.

As for the green - it can be 2 reasons
if Breastfed.. possibly getting more foremilk (the sugary first part of the milk) and not enough hind milk (the fatty later part of the milk). To stop this just put bub back on the same breast for a wnd go before swapping.
If bottle fed - very normal. The iron in the formula can make poos greeny - it is just bub getting rid of the excess iron she he doesnt need from the formula!

Ok I have to share the poo thing cause Bethany would be so heartbroken to know that her poos weren't shared with the world wide web!!
They are mostly a dark green colour liquidy and oh boy love that formula smell. She also loves to do them when having her morning feed...yup we all eat whilst taking a dump!! So gross and unlady like, I explain this daily but do you think she listens?? Nope!!!

this cracked me up! X being a boy of course has no hope of being ladylike and equally wants his poo story shared with the world. He regularly poos in the SECOND half of his feed just after mummy has changed his nappy! His poos are currently a lovely marigoldy-yellowy-mustard colour and mostly reasonably runny (I think someone said runny peanut butter before?). He poos about every 4-6 days and they are CORKERS when they arrive. He also seems to like to pee into his poo... which makes for an interesting change! (oh and he's on full EBM). He takes anywhere between 150-250mls.. but at the moment it's 250ml all the way... I'm putting that down to 12 week growth spurt and the fact he's often feeding only 4 times a day.

Tomorrow he's going to our work Xmas BBQ... and he's going as .... (wait for it, this is good...)..... XANDER CLAUS!!!! (ain't it lucky I crack myself up?)

I just did a belfie-style makeover! Went to the shops somewhat despairing cos i have NOTHING to wear tomorrow... managed to find some nice tops to accomodate the HUGE BB's, pot belly, short frame & slim(ish) hips.... aargh I'm starting to resemble one of those battleship old ladies you see - all torso and nothing else! So anyways I'm thrilled I actually found something that fits & is remotely flattering/boob minimising (which is all I care about these days!!). Me and Xander Claus are gonna rock the house tomorrow... just hope he behaves now!

Belfie you crack me up too!!!!

Bethany also has the gift of peeing in her poop and of course saving it for the clean nappy, I swear she plots it.... "Oh here come my slaves to tend my needs, mmmm I think I shall challenge them and not take a dump just yet. No lets lull them in to a false sense of security, let them make me all clean and dry and then wham oh I'll let go (metaphorically speaking) about 5mins after we finish this change. By the way where is my food, what is the hold up, after 10 weeks you think they could move a tad faster, I mean how hard is one of those things they call a bottle so to make, I am sure I could do it if I had better head control (and fine motor skills) ....I shall share my displeasure..." *cue loud wails with arms and legs waving*
