kuraiza - I just realised that I said that I get 7 hours of sleep but what I really meant I get 7 hours to lie in bed.. but I don't sleep all that time. I wish I was a good sleeper cos then I really would have around 7 hours of sleep. It takes me about an hour to fall asleep. I also get to bed around 11pm. I am a night person and find it so hard to go to bed any earlier. Last night I went to bed at midnight cos I just don't feel tired at night time! It took me about an hour to fall asleep. Then Maya woke around 3am, which woke me up but I didn't get out of bed till 4am. Then after putting her down at 5am I didn't get to sleep till 6am and she woke again at 8am! So that's really 4 hours of sleep but around 6 hours in bed. *sigh*
I was going to write more but Maya just woke for a feed! Gotta go.. will try and log back on later!
-
Itsme: ah yeah that sounds more realistic. :o
Hollye: What is with nurses and their sleepy baby paranoia? I can't believe you're doing photos. I don't have the strength. Also, Jude has cute little baby acne so no photos. ;)
Hmmm i might go peak at th september thread to see if thingswill improve for us all in the future.
sorry about my typing, i am feeding juyde and left-handed typing. too difficult.
-
lol we all sound so sleep deprived... bring on the 12 week mark... ( i remember things were so much easy by 12 weeks....) so the count down is on.
Well i finally got ethan to sleep at 1030 and he has been down for an hour (the previous sleep was distrubed by a volcano poo! lol).
Hollye - trust me i think this is the looney farm within these 4 walls... i swear if my neighbours were home and heard me they would think i was insane!!! When one is asleep it is fine. It is when both are crying at the same time that i think omg! whos idea was it to have 2 close together..... did someonesay vascetomy? lol
And!!! are you stirring or really making the move???? its warm and sunny :) hehehe
-
Time for a refocus on how beautiful our little babies are, what a miracle it is they are here with us - and how lucky we are that they are all healthy ..;)
Now, back to complaining re lack of sleep hehehe - yeah me too - between the 3 of them someone is nearly up all around the clock :)
-
Sami - I hear you! but admittedly it's through very tired eyes right now! I keep looking at Izzy and remembering her as a newborn and telling myself that "this too will pass". These bubs grow up SO fast and won't be newborns for very long and I keep telling myself that it's ok for him to sleep on us when he needs to!
 to all you sleep deprived mamas - it will pass and one day we will look back and wonder what the fuss was all about!! :)
-
OK back. I have Maya sleeping in a sling next to me, so I can jump back online.
kuraiza & Hollye - I also was told I had a sleepy baby by the mid-wives in the hospital and they told me that she was jaundiced.. though I could never see the jaundice! I was told I had to wake her and feed her regularly. I remember one night in hospital DH and I tried to wake her and she just wouldn't wake up! It took us such a long time and then she fed so poorly cos she was so tired! One mid-wife even told us that we had to put Maya near the window to help break down the jaundice. When the paediatrician came he asked why she was in the window and we told him a mid-wife had told us to do it. He said the jaundice wasn't that bad and she's a big healthy baby and that there's nothing to worry about. But I've continued to worry because every single mid-wife would look at her and say 'you need to feed her more' and it made me feel like I was doing wrong by her. Now that I am finally feeding on demand, she is feeding MUCH better!! I wish I had just kept with my feeding on demand from the start! The mid-wives also kept telling me I must not be feeding her properly, but then they would watch Maya attach and feed and tell me I was doing a great job! :wall:
Hollye - I'd love to take Maya for a photo shoot. I've been researching places to go online and everything seems to cost a fortune! I hope the photo session and check up went well!
All those with more than one child I am in awe of you all. I reckon one baby is hard enough! You are all doing great jobs juggling everything.
-
not much time...
photo's went well, she slept through them. We are getting them done through the chemist here. First Photo is free and others are about 5-$10. They are done through the Occasion Studios and they do them at the chemist for everyone, if that makes sense.
It is hard work getting out and about and Mia gets car sick which doesnt help. But im taking full advantage of it as Matt goes back to work on friday :( oh god what am i going to do!!
Check up went well.. she has put on 120 grms in 5 days. Not as much as she was putting on but its still a gain. shes now at 3700 grams (8lb 2oz). Her next check is next tuesday and her next photo shoot is 3rd december..woot woot.. hopefully it will be getting easier by then.
one TMI question for u ladies.. When did u stop bleeding? im still bleeding and its been 2 weeks. Ive been told it can last up to 6 weeks.. omg are they serious?
Kel - oh im serious...
-
Hollye - I had a c/s both times and I bled for 6 weeks, although only lightly, with Izzy and ths time around I am 2 1/2 weeks on and still have light loss so yep - can be 6 weeks lovely. :( Bugger hey.
-
hollye have you got one of those antistatic stips you can attach to your car that touches the ground?
do they still exsist?
-
thanks tan.. i think lol
wtf are u talking about kel?!?!? lmao..
-
lol!!!! you used to be able to get these strips of something that you stuck under your car and it dragged ont he road (just a bit). and it grounded all statis reducing car sickness....
am i sounding old right now?
-
Hollye I'm still bleeding and it's been 3 weeks today, I think I've gone nearly 6 weeks each time. Glad the photos went well.
Kuraiza Julian has his little hormone pimples on his face as well, they're slowly fading.
Well Julian gave me a big fright this morning, I last fed him at 6:30pm last night and put him to bed about 7pm, I woke at 5:50am this morning thinking OMG I haven't heard from him since last night, so I checked on him and he was just laying there looking around, the little buggar.
I agree with Sami, enjoy themwhile they are small because they gow so quick. Also with all the advice you get, please take it all with a grain of salt,do what youthink is best, it's taken me 5 pregnacies to do this and I think it's paid it off this time. I'm feeding on demand and some days he only has 5 feeds, but he sleeps well and has enough dirty/wet nappies, so I'm more relaxed and he's a happy baby.
I've definately had my problems so I feel for all of you and hope that you don't feel I'm bragging or trying to make anyone feel bad.
I better go befoe I put my foot in my mouth.
hugs xoxo
-
wow Kel.. never heard of them! its mainly the bit after we get outa the car shes sick. It last for hours. The car ride gives her shocking wind and a horrible tummy ache. I have resorted to giving her a bit of cool boiled water when we get home after being in the car and that seems to help bring up the wind and sme vomit to make her feel better. Once she has had a good spew after being in the car and then a good feed shes right... its just getting past that bit.
she had a sssssssmall feed at 4pm and is still asleep.. she stirs every now and then and i think shes waking up but no.. i even got her up 40 mins ago, changed her bum and her clothes as it was getting cold here and got all prepared for a BF and nothing.. no chance of waking her. Mayb the being awake all night and day is catching up with her. Dont know if i should really try and wake her for a feed or just leave her.. if i wake her shes just going to get stroppy and fall asleep at the boob anyway..
-
I went with feeding on demand yesterday and found for a while there DD was feeding every 2 hours, without me having to wake her! And when she's awake and ready to feed, she doesn't fall asleep straight away and feeds better. But towards the end of the day during the last 3 feeds she started pulling off a lot and crying!! :( I have no idea what's wrong and she's done it this morning too. She seems to try and get back on the breast, so it seems like she isn't finished. But it's like she's really frustrated with something?! So I'm not sure if she's actually fed enough but is used to feeding for a longer time? Or is she going through a growth spurt and I'm not producing enough milk for her new needs? I make sure I burp her regularly, so I don't think that's a problem. The other thing I've noticed is that she started bringing up milk yesterday, which she's never done before. I'm also getting frustrated, which probably isn't helping my milk flow. Does anyone have any ideas on why she could be constantly pulling off and crying, but then trying to get back on?
-
maybe a little regurg or she is having pains while feeding?
This is usually what happens with DS (although it is one feed it is EVERY feed is like this).
I find if i feed him in the sling or upright he is better and doesnt pull off crying like he does laying back or down flat. Perhaps try that?
Well Ethan woke 5 times last night. i ended up feeding him and keeping him in bed with me. During the day he is happy to sleep in his bassinetter for 3 hr at a time.. so no idea what th difference is. Maybe i will leave his light on all night ... lol
-
k that's it! I'm gatecrashing! We've got hardly anyone in our 15-30 Sep thread (apart from the lovely SamiH and Curl)... but it's soooo quiet! So I'm a'comin' in to visit!!! Can I lurk with you guys and pretend he was born in Oct after all?
It's great to hear how you're all doing with your little chubby darlings... OMG lack of sleep and BF'ing is sooo much fun! I think I thought we'd know what we were doing by 6 weeks haha what a joke! So saying, I can't complain as overnight X often goes down for 5-6 hours from feed to feed. Oh and he doesn't like sleeping in the dark - wakes and cries, so the hall light is always on. It's heaven when it works out - almost feels like a real sleep. But if we could be as good with our feeding, that'd be awesome!!!
Hope you're all going well :)
-
belfie you arent the only gatecrasher ! lol
welcome!! :)
-
Belfie, long time no see! What's going on with your feeding?
Well Jude has taken to being awake all day. I just threw him in a wrap and we went for a long walk on the beach which was lovely, but it's too hot with the wrap in the house so I took him out and "waaaaaahhh". In fairness he needed a big thirsty feed after that sweaty walk but now he's wide-eyed lying in his cocoon while mummy wonders when she's supposed to have a chance to nap.
Hollye: I have a tiny little amount of spotting, so I use a panty liner. My bleeding was a bit weird so I called my ob but he said it as normal and then he practically hung up on me because he was operating. Oops, I felt pretty dumb.
PP: I know the anti-static strips, but I am pretty old so ...
Jude likes a bit of light at night time. It's not a bad idea to leave a light on as Belfie does. I have a lamp and I throw a black nightie over it so it's dark enough for me and light enough for Jude.
I'm going to migrate Jude to his nursery. I got a bit more sleep last night by moving Jude to the nursery after his 2am feed (because he usually falls asleep fairly easily at 3am). So after that I was able to sleep until he was crying for his 6.30am feed, but I felt pretty bad wondering how long he'd been crying before I woke up, but he wasn't crying too loudly so I think he just started. It solved the problem of being half awake the entire time Jude grunts and moans and whimpers all morning.
-
Kur - we have a night light on and his mobile has a light as well. It is light enough that i can see him but i just dont know.
I might sleep in the spare room tonight with him and let DH get some sleep. i think he is getting a little over the crying all night. Will see.
OOh toys r us have a new sale... so tempting but i cant buy anything (as i have no $$ lol)... but it is nice to look isnt it. My poor kids arent getting xmas presents from santa this year. i am sure the relo's will spoil them enough.
Well ethan has been an angel all day (as usual) it is a tease i think ... aww he is so good it will be a good night and then yep waaa all night.
HOllye - i just leave ethan if he is asleep. He will wake if hungry so im not worried. I am going to get around to sewing Mia's little xmas dress soon! i might try this weekend....
-
Itsme - Mia does the same thing and i asked at the lactation clinic why she was doing this as it was sooooo frustrating. She said to make sure bubs postitioning is right (hips facing the right way) and to put some shape to ur nipple with ur thumb and finger and really guiding it into her mouth. We found that she was pulling of coz she wasnt getting enough breast (enough milk) and was also becoming frustrated. Its so hard to try and latch them on when they are screaming so get her to suck on ur finger until she has calmed down abit.
The other thing is wind.. Mia goes mad when shes got wind and im trying to attach her. She arches her back and chucks a big nana.. When i cant get her wind to come up i give her a mouthful in a bottle of cooled boiled water and then try and burp her again, this settles her tummy and her and she burps easy. She usually throws up a little too which is good for an upset tummy too.
Its all a learning process hun and once you work out why she does it all will be good. Pity that screaming at us is the only way they know how to tell us whats wrong. Keep your chin up, your doing a great job!
I dont know whats going on with my bleeding.. one minute its gone, the next its back. gone down to regular pads but should be able to go down to panty liners. I want to use tampons but was told not to just yet (even tho iave had a c/sec). hrmmmm TMI prob there but oh well.
Belfie - glad ur back sweety.. no ditching us ok! ill come and steal u back!
PP - yeh i did let her sleep and she woke about an hour later for a feed, thank god. geez the things we worry about. We had an alright night lastnight.. she woke at 12:30, 3, 5 and 7 and then had another feed at 11am (u know how i was talking about our "rest" time lol). I hope ethan settles for u abit so u can get some more rest. U are doing a fantastic job hun, keep it up super mummy!!! xoxox
best go find some food before she wakes again!!
mwah to u all xoxoxoxoxoxooxoxox

Well after his good night the other night, I've had a terrible day today. He's been feeding every 1 and half to two hours all day and only had a 4 hour sleep, plus it's been so hot here today so that hasn't helped. He's finally down for the night now, hopefully he'll sleep for a while. I think that he's having a growth spurt as well.
Ok off to have some dinner and some more water.
hugs xoxo
-
Hollye: For your bleeding, try to do as little as you possibly can during the day with your feet up as often as possible, let the house go for a couple of days and the bleeding should let up.
AmandaJ: Sounds like you have a catnapper. Jude doesn't sleep all day but he's a pretty good night sleeper compared with other bubs.
Last night Jude slept in bed with me from 11pm to 4am. I had 5 hours of unbroken sleep. Bliss!! Then I put him in the nursery at 5am and actually he's still asleep now it's 9.30am so I think I might gently nudge him and see if he needs his nappy changed and a big feed. My husband woke me up at about 6.30am getting ready for work, so that screwed up my chance for another unbroken stretch of sleep. Anyhoo, I'm not expecting Jude to do this every night but it was lovely just for one night to rejuvenate a bit.
PS. Happy 1 month birthday my little monkey.
-
Morning - we have our 6 weeks check today - already!! :o With DS1 I bled until this point, then with DD for two weeks then lightly spotting on and off for another 3 - and this time the same, pretty much nothing now, just back to a little bit more than normal. YAY! Seems to have gotten less time for each baby??
We are doing well, Zander feeding ok (weight check will tell today ;) hoping for 5kg) - and day sleeping a bit all over the place with school runs and shopping and general stuff  but night sleep he usually goes down with the other kids around 7 - 8pm - then wakes twice overnight. However, I don't mind the feeding overnight, and lately he has been settling well afterwards so I had a total of 6 hours last night and feel rejuvenated - and that is still with DH away in Townsville until tonight so I feel very capable again!
Amanda - you deserve Julian to be sleeping well for you overnight with 4 other kids in house - you are amazing - I feel like I am struggling enough with 3 at times - but do pull through  They are all so precious ...
Kuraiza - we evicted Zander out of our room after all the visitors left cos he was so noisy! Grunting, groaning, wind after the night feeds etc - he has been in his own room for 2 weeks and I think we are both sleeping better cos I am not disrupting him thinking he is waking or cold or something  My plan was for him to be in our room for a couple of months like Giselle, but nope, can't sleep through his noise!
Itsme - the pulling off to me sounds like either Maya is getting fussy about your let-down (is it really strong and drowns her?) - or like Zander - he does the pull off/on thing when he is trying to get wind out or has a tummy pain - sometimes they like to suck to help move it through their bowels, even if they are burping fine - they still get wind in their bowels. Hang in there hun, around 6 weeks and on their bodies mature and they start to be able to push it through a bit easier - here's hoping!
Belfie - see I told you I had already gatecrashed into this thread with all the due girls :) Seemed very lonely in the other one and of course I love talking to you :) feels strange that there was only 3 of us though hey!
PP - Christmas - when is that? LOL I am usually soooooo organised, better do something about that soon .... I have DD's pressies on lay-by but DS1 fads change so we were waiting to see closer to the day - which would be about now ..... EEK!
Gotta run .
-
KURAIZA I normally start on dinner at 4pm, sometimes earlier, and try to eat it around 6pm. That way I can do the dishes etc before Byron feeds at 7/7.30pm. Then once he's back down I go to bed. It's just a matter of doing everything throughout the day so you don't have to do it all after 6pm when the bub is restless.
Byron was pretty restless yesterday. He kept waking up & I had to re settle him all the time. I think it was the heat. He was great over night though. I put him down at 8pm & I went to bed at 8.40pm. Got to sleep around 9pm & Byron woke up at 1.40 for a feed. He went straight back down again (as he normally does). I got back into bed at 2.20 but couldn't sleep. Grrrr, it always happens. Must've been 3am before I fell asleep then he woke at 4am with gas pains. So I co slept with him till 7am. So I managed to get a pretty good sleep. He went back down just before 9am. He mainly feeds 4 hourly with 1 3 hour feed a day. I can't complain about that.
We're starting to get some smiles from him now. It first happend last week, then again yesterday when my MIL was tickling his face. We managed to get it on camera, it's in my gallery, then again this morning while DH was talking to him. So cute.
I uploaded some pics in my gallery if you want to take a peek. They were taken yesterday.
Sorry about the lack of personals. I just can't seem to keep up with you all. I do read all of your posts though.
-
wow SamiH.. 6 weeks! where has the time gone?!?! i cant believe Mia is over 2 weeks now, the past 2 weeks seem like such a blur and she has changed so much. I dont want my lil girl to grow up :(
speaking of her we had a great night lastnight. She had a feed at 7:30pm and stayed awake for mummy and daddy cuddles until about 11:30pm (wow thats like 4 hours), then had another little feed and slept till 4am! had another big feed till 5:30 (with falling asleep and waking in between! lol) and then i had to wake her at 10am this morning!!! she just fed for 50 mins and had mummy cuddles and now shes back asleep. So proud of her and she hasnt even cried once. We are slowly getting into a routine with her feeds and it seems to be helping. She has 2-3 hourly feeds during the day and at night and the morning all she pretty much wants to do is sleep! Btw i co slept with her from 7am this morning which i usually do every morning.
Matt went back to work today and so far has been all good. Was wondering how i was going to cope doing it all by myself but if she keeps this good behaviour up it will be a breeze. (touches wood). cant see it happening tho.
off to have some brunch.. xoxoxoxo
-
Well after been up most of yesterday Julian slept from 6:30pm until 5am this morning again, had a feed then back to sleep in my bed all snuggled up to me, was very nice. He slept through school drop off and part of the kids parade as I stayed because Lockie was getting an award, was so proud of him. Now it's bloody hot and after his feed just now he's all hot and sweaty so I've got him in his bouncer watching me.
Georgi I'll go and have a look at Byron in a min, Julian has been smiling a bit too lately, I caught some on camera yesterday and this morning.
Sami wow 6 weeks already, it goes so quick.
PP and Kuraiza both your boys are 4 weeks too, hope you are both going well.
hugs xoxo
-
spoke too soon.. i think im in for a loooooooong day..
woohoo amanda, julian is a great sleeper by the sounds of it!
-
thank amanda!
Yes kurazia- happy 1 month birthday to our bubs! lol
HOllye - hun you can always vent here to me!!! i feel your pain lol
Well last night omg!!! DS went to sleep at 930 on his belly and woke at 130am for a feed.. i was like omg!! that s 4hrs i never get 4 hrs then he came to bed with me and i thought... oh it is going to be a good night.... he wll sleep till morning... but THEN
DD woke at 430 and wanted to play -waking DS! doh! cant win!
-
PP - u just can win can u!! lol
-
hi all, still settling in with our new addition, he has given us a dream ride so far the least time between a feed over night has been 3 hrs and the most 6 hrs
Wow no body tells you how hungry little boys are!!!!!!
we went to the clinic yesterday and Angus was weighed he has gone from 9lbs 2 ozs birth weight to a whopping 9lbs 10ozs in just a week....what a little piggy!!!!!
Does anybody else have a problem with their bubba's stools being a little grainy and slimy??? the clinic sister told me it was because he has been over feeding....does this sound right???? I didn't think you could over feed a breast fed bubba???? mind you he does like the booby:rolleyes:
other than that he checked out brilliantly
hope we are all loving our extended families hugs to all and kisses to all bubbas
-
i think what she was prob trying to say is that bub might be getting too much foremilk and not enough hindmilk.
Ie feeds and stopps after let down or you swap too early on sides and they get the sugary thirst milk at the beginning of a feed and not enough of the fatty milk at the end.
Try after bub seems to have finished putting him back on the same breast before swapping sides and see if it makes a difference,
And no you cant overfeed a BF bub!
-
:yeahthat:
Blizz - that is what happened to Zander and I with our feeding with the grainy runny stuff - too much foremilk, and he is a short feeder anyway (read : efficient) - so I was swapping him prematurely but now perservere with one side for longer before offering the other, and he only has a snack on the other side.
Well 6 week check was fine - Z weighs 5kg - well, 4.995 actually. So he is doing well and still fully b/f so I am feeling proud - until I get overtired again ...
PP - I know what you mean re sibling wakings - I took my DD to bed last night at 7.45pm so I wouldn't have to get up if she woke too early, or needed me in the night etc so I was already there - hubby not home until 11pm tonight so will probably do the same for my sanity :)
Amanda - that is amazing sleep at that young age - I am just hoping for one night feed to drop let alone a sleep through!
Hollye - LOL yeah a breeze - the little buggers are clever, just when you think you have it nutted out and in some resemblance of a good routine for everyone - they have a growth spurt, or something. My husband always says - calm down, everything is a phase - but he has said it too much now and I tell him he might be a phase too if he says that again ..
-
:redface:I haven't been able to make it past offering one breast at a time due to the amount of milk that I am producing...It is starting to settle down slightly now but Angus hasn't had much of a chance to get through one breast before it fills again it's a tad bit out of control at the moment:o, hopefully it will start to settle down now it is starting to feel like we are getting to the end of a breast but it has only just started to happen hopefully things will settle sown soon, thanks for your advice.
might have to wake him shortly for another feed as I have a pain in my right breast that feels like the beginning stage of the mastitis I had with Paige, have been expressing when it gets too much to bear but I am trying to let my body adjust as I don't want to encourage any more milk production than I have currently got
-
I don't know what you mean by slimy, but from everything I've read and been told grainy poos are completely normal, as in any colour from yellow to green (with bright orange in the middle).
As long as bubs gains weight and is healthy, nothing to worry about.
-
hey ladies,
Thanks for the welcome, I'm gonna hang around like a bad smell now (since i was the slowest on the uptake to gatecrash haha!).
SamiH - awesome work with Zander's weight gain! Congrats
Hollye - good luck with getting your BF'ing sorted - it is such a challenge!! But you're doing a brilliant job.
I'm gonna run outta time to say hello to everyone, but wow everyone's bubba's are getting older so quickly - 4 weeks already wow.
We seem to have hit 6-week growth spurt snacky time! Xander is normally quite consistent 3-6 hourly feeds, but the last half week he keeps getting really snacky/sleepy for hours at a time. This morning he was feeding or I was expressing solidly from 9.30am through to 1.30pm!! I was talking to my LC (about our BF'ing challenges too) and she said they have a big growth spurt at 6 weeks so that's why - which made me feel better. I weighed him unofficially at home and I'm sure he's over 5kg now. He's also into the Infant Huggies... OMG!!! :o I was so excited by that.
BF'ing is an ongoing challenge (I've got inverted/flat nipples and feeding using a nipple shield). It's really inconsistent - just when I think we have it sorted, we have a hellish 24 hours where he doesn't attach well, leaks milk ALL over the place, jerks back, pops off, cries... etc until we end up going EBM or FF (if i'm out of EBM). Then just when I think it's a disaster, suddenly he feeds brilliantly! Go figure. Honestly I don't know how people feed their babies without the bottle as a back-up!
My LC is coming out again next week so we can try again without the shield. I've tried a few times with little success... but I think I'm too nervous... I look at my poor flat teensy little naked nipples... and the gaping maw of my hungry baby boy!!! And I'm like EEEP you're gonna squish it! So i'm sure my LC will help us.
He's also starting to smile heaps more - it's soooo gorgeous :loveshower: just melts mummy's heart all over again. Oh and I think he's the snortiest baby in creation... I don't know if it's adenoids or what... but he is seriously snorty/snuffly! Everywhere I go people have commented on it (even strangers in the supermarket the other day cos he snorted so loud!), so I'm going to ask the paediatrician at our check-up next week. Does anyone else have a super snorty baby?
Eep gotta go he wants feeding! Hope you're all going well - shall have to do more personals later!
-
Hi all.. a quick one from me before Maya's last feed.
PP - Thanks for the suggestion about trying to feed upright. I'm actually not sure what you mean by feeding with her upright, but yesterday I tried feeding with her sitting next to me, so that most of her body was upright and that seemed to help! :)
Also thanks Hollye for the suggestion about attachment. I realised that I had stopped thinking about attachment and just kind of shove her on the boob. So yesterday I started thinking more about attachment and getting it right and that also seemed to help with the feeding! :) Oh.. and I thought I'd stopped bleeding and started wearing panty liners and then one night after a feed.. bam.. I bled A LOT! Right through my clothes cos I wasn't wearing a pad. So I don't know how to tell when you've actually finished bleeding!?
Welcome Belfie! I got used to you being around in the due date thread, so it'll be nice to see you in here. :)
That's all the personals I can manage right now.. cos I am so tired.. :asleep: Maya woke at 4am for a feed, but then wouldn't go back to sleep till 9am. So I only got around 3 hours sleep last night, plus a 2 hour nap today.. I can't wait to crawl into bed.
I had my MIL come round today and we spent ages talking about stuff and she did some house work. So I had a nice day despite the fact that I am mighty tired!
Yesterday I did something really stupid.. my cat got in a fight with another cat and I went to help and put my hands in the way.. and now I am sooooo sore. I am badly cut up. It's even hard to type right now. I just hope that they don't get infected!
OK.. feed time.. then sleep time. :) Night night!
-
Itsme - yep that is what i mean. Prop her up against a pillow and brign your breast to her or even have her on your belly when you are on a slight incline and have her feed onto of your breast (this one is a litle harder to manage) but it mean that bub will drink what she needs without extra milk flodding her mouth.
Blizz - i had a major oversupply issue with Ashley when she was breastfeeding. what i found was the best thing to do was feed off one breast within a 2 hrs period. So if bub was hungry again within 2 hrs feed on the same breast not the other side. This calmed the supply down after a few days.
I actually started doing this straight away with DS so that i didnt get the same problem. ANd it has made my supply calmer 2nd time around from the get go! :) HTH
Belfie - Yep Ethan is snortsville! DH says he cant sleep with DS snorting and sneezing all the time. Ashley was the same though in the early weeks :)
HOllye - yay its the weekend. I hope DP is home for you! :) hugs
Well ok night last night. DS slept 1030-130 in his own bed and then came slept in with me :) So 3 hrs sleep was nice! lol.

Morning mums & bubs...
Byron slept went from 7pm to 2.30am, feed to feed. I managed to get 4 hours sleep, straight. Fantastic! He was such a good boy yesterday. Slept well & fed every 4 hours which was great. And so far, so good for today. I find he stays awake for 1 - 1.5 hours now. We have a nice little routine going which involves some aerobics & play session. It's lots of fun & i've noticed his so much stronger.
RE: Bleeding... I bled for the full 6 weeks. Althought the last couple of weeks were very light, it's safe to say 6 weeks.
Hava great weekend

Itsme: Did the bleeding calm down again? Was it bright red or dark/brown? Just watch that bleeding, it sounds possibly like the placenta site reopened or something. You need to chill and relax so the site can heal. Yeah I know, I am SO sick of being told to relax and put my feet up. YEAH RIGHT! However, you COULD try not to get in any more cat fights, maybe start with that.
Belfie: Jude snorts when he's sleeping, but not so much during the day (well that might be because he's awake most of the day). Although he's sleeping right now, which is sweet of him so I can work on the face mobile I'm making him (with photos of mummy and daddy's faces - I was going to add his Nonna and Poppa, but then I'd have to add my MIL and FIL and I would rather not look at their stupid faces, so ... I digress). I'm glad you're here, Belfie, you're quite the entertainer!!
Georgi: Thanks for the information about your nightly routine, but it made me feel SO inadequate because I've only managed to cook dinner once since Jude arrived. My poor husband comes home from work and cooks dinner. Every day I fully intend to cook, but Jude's been so demanding since he doesn't sleep I just never have time, however I decided to implement a bit of a routine and try to encourage him to sleep at least for an hour during the day in his nursery so I can tidy the house and chop some vegies for dinner. I have to do something productive or I'll go (even more) insane.
I have to say I have been not that diligent about doing breastfeeding perfectly, but I don't think there are any issues (as long as Jude keeps putting on weight). AND as long as I don't get mastitis again but I don't have an oversupply of milk at all. My boobs rarely feel full and I was worried I was losing milk supply for no apparent reason, but I read in Baby Love that many women never feel full and it calmed me down. It does help explain why I am so bad at expressing milk. Got a huge 40mLs yesterday, Woot!
Milestone: Jude smiled at me this morning after his feed. A big happy grin. I told my husband who came in to have a looksy and Jude looked up at him and grinned at his daddy (who Jude loves so much!), which made my husband nearly cry and he rushed off to get the video camera, but Jude just stared at the camera and then had a bit of a puke. Heheh.
Jude's been great at night! I got 2 consecutive 4-hour sleeps last night. How's that for Miraculous?!
Yesterday we went for a walk on the beach and walked through a scene of H20 - Just Add Water that was being filmed on my beach. Maybe Jude's first TV appearance at just 1 month,. I'm sure we'll end up on the cutting room floor.

 well this morning DH was finishing a feed of EBM with Xander (while i took the dog out for the neighbourhood play session - first time I've done it since X was born ). Anyway, just as DH was lifting X up for a burp, he did a HUGE spew... right down the INSIDE of DH's top!! Then he looked up at DH and gave him a huge cheeky grin. I love it.
Apparently when DH went to shower it was quite a look... hairy manly chest covered in masses of milky vomit.... I'm still laughing!!!
kuraiza - awesome work on the sleep, gotta love that.
Georgi - Byron sounds so cute and your routine sounds great, I'm impressed.
PP - thanks for the info re snorting, good to know I don't have the only little snortabug! I hope you get more good sleeps.
Itsme - oooh ouch on the cat scratches. Teatree antiseptic ointment is great for cat scratches i find (I have 2 cats). It is so instinctive when something like that is happening, it's only after that you think ooops shouldn't have done that. Hope the hands heal up quick. MIL sounds like a good help and I hope you got more sleep last night.
Gotta go, happy Saturday to all :)
EDIT: just had to add a new pic... finally got one of those smiles on camera! :loveshower: link here
