Babies Born October 1st ~ 15th 2008

well, that was a fun night...I developed mastitis in my right breast complete with the flu like symptoms and the hots and colds so got SIL to babysit and got DH to take me to the gp, luckily I've had it before so I new pretty much how to fix the problem so I gave Angus a super sized feed of the breast and expressed it till empty(well as empty as I could get it) and although I still have a couple of very tender spots in the breast I can tell it is heaps better the doctor gave me a course of antibiotics as well so hopefully that will get rid of my sinus as well as help prevent an infection in my breast.
feeling heaps better...it is scary just how quickly mastitis can come on, and how sick it makes you feel.
back to normal this morning Angus fed a couple more time over night which was a good thing but I still got heaps of sleep as DH just brought him in to me when he needed feeding and then he did the burping/settling.

blizz - I hope you are feeling better soon!

belfie - Thanks for the tea tree oil tip. I'll give it a go. Hands are feeling much better today. :)

kuraiza - The bleeding was bright red and it happened to me twice now, but in the earlier weeks, and it didn't last long so I wasn't worried about it. More like a huge gush. And yes it has since calmed down, though I do still get spurts of small bright red bleeds every so often. Most of the time I am not having any bleeding though. So I still have to wear pads 'just in case' which is annoying. Ohh.. that's so cute that Jude smiled. I keep thinking Maya has smiled, but then I wonder if it's wind pain instead. :rofl:

Georgi - Your routine sounds great. What do you do during play time? I'm looking for more ideas on what to do with Maya.

PP - Yeah having Maya on my belly for a feed sounds a bit harder. I'll have to give it a try though. But I definitely found having her sitting next to me on a pillow worked well!

ITSME I lay byron on the edge of the pillow & shake toys in front of him (tummy time) so he lifts his head up, then I turn him over so he's facing me & do what I call aerobics. Hands together then apart x4, feet together then apart x4 opposite hand to feet x4 then bicycles, all while singing stupid songs. I do that twice. Then I support his neck with one hand while I bring him up for a few sit ups, holding his legs with the other hand. Then do some roll overs, from back to tummy. Then finish off with more tummy time on the pillow. I learnt this from a nurse who taught me the benefits to doing it. It gives us some time together plus it tires him out so he sleeps much better when we have done this. I don't do it at night though. So he knows it's long sleep time. HTH

BLIZZ I hope that mastitis eases up. It's just so awful isn't it. Make sure you rest up

KURAIZA Maybe you can try some excercise for Jude, like I mentioned to Itsme. It might tire him out so he sleeps more. I put Byron in his nursery for every sleep. He sleeps for 2.5 - 3hours each time. Though sometimes I do need to re settle him. Sometimes every half an hour. I definately agree that if he's putting on weight, then you're doing it right

Byron kept waking up last night. He's got trapped wind. I could hear him trying to push out farties & they just wouldn't come out. I ended up co sleeping with him from 4am so he could lay on his side. It didn't get the farties out, but it did give me a bit more sleep. I went to bed at 9pm but took ages to get to sleep cause I had a nap from 3pm - 4.45pm earlier that day. Byron woke at 1am for a feed. But I had to re settle him at 11am. Didn't take long though.

My sister & nieces arrive today (from Sydney). I can't wait to see my adorable little girls. They're 3, 2 & 1 (years old). They're meeting their cousin (Byron) for the first time.

Georgi: The eerie likeness continues. My sister is coming from Sydney on Wednesday with her children, 3 and 1, Jude's only cousins. Are you sure you haven't had children before? You're a natural at this mummy thing! I WILL try that exercise.

Hi guys - I thought I would drop in to ask what you suggest to treat a red bum (nappy rash). Logan has lots of pretty liquid poos that i think are irritating him and would appreciate any suggestions. Maybe i need to persist on one boob for longer as suggested earlier. OMG - any suggestion for stopping him weeing all over himself every other nappy change LOL. The joys of having a little boy!

Blizz - thinking of you and hope you are feeling better. Glad you got onto it so quick. I don't have an over supply, didn't even get engorged when my milk came in. I think Logan was onto it straight away and didn't give me a chance. My boobs never feel really tight and I don't leak, but I suppose that could still happen as my milk only came in on Wednesday.

Kylie - try to wash his bum with a flannel and warm water (not wipes) - and make sure it is dry before any thing else... A DRY BUM IS A HAPPY BUM!!!

And i loved curash zinc ointment for ashleys bum! you can get a zinc ointment from the chemist usually too which they make up and very cheap and it will also work wonders. I would coat it on and it would be gone in the morning.

Otherwise bepanthen is good - i use it too at times but find it takes longer to clear the rash up.

I have found having a dry face washer or cloth near by helps I have just been placing it over his uncontrolled bits and this has stopped him squirting himself in the eye:lol:...he really wasn't impressed when he did this the other day!!!!
has got mumma and dadda quite a few times already as well.

As for me, feeling one hundred percent better...got on to the mastitis quickly and things went back to normal overnight...can still feel some tender spots and have been feeding as much as possible to keep the breast empty.


I am not intending to complain here as I understand that I should be counting my blessings but how much is too much sleep for a newborn????


Angus is having a total of two wakeful sessions one in the morning for about an hour and a half to two hours and then again in the afternoon where he has a session from 2-3 hours, the rest of the time he is pretty much sleeping often for a 5-6 hour block over night and about 2-4hour block during the day.

I have been putting it down to the fact that he has been feeding HUGE feeds and is just a contented little man, also that we are so much more relaxed this time around than we were with DD.
just wondered if anybody else had found this???
he seems pretty alert when he is awake and I swear his head nearly swung off his shoulders when my sil was holding him and I walked past talking to DH he was trying to see where I was as he was hungry.

PS will be in more soon DH is still on holidays and we are making the most of it so I haven't been spending much time on the computer, he has two more weeks before I have my first turn at being single mum to two children when he returns to shift work:o

KYLIE I bought a pac of chux wipes, cut them in half, then I fold them up & place it over DS doodle as soon as I open his nappy. That way if he wees, the chux soaks it up. It works wonders. I also agree with PP, bepantham is good

KURAIZA Wow, really, your sister from Sydney.. How funny. I basically was my nieces 2nd mother up until I moved to QLD. So I was very fortunate to experience the first time mother thing with my sister. But I just didn't need to wake up for night feeds. It was a great intro to motherhood. I also went to a day course for routine & settling for babies (in Sydney), that helped immensely.

Georgie - Thanks for letting me know about your routine. It sounds fantastic. I also exercise Maya, but my routine isn't as thorough as yours. And I tend to break things up - like one time when she's awake I'll do tummy time, another time massage, another time exercise, etc. Maybe having one set routine would better?

kuraiza- Expressing 40 ml sounds fantastic to me. The most I've ever managed is 20 mls and most of the time I just get a couple of drops. :( I really wanted to store up a feed but I can never find the time to express and when I do I hardly get anything. :wall:

Question: Has anyone tried both manual and electric breast pumps? I'm wondering if one is better than the other and how is it better? Does an electric breast pump allow you to express more milk? I have a manual one and I find it hard to use and it gives me sore breasts.

i've only ever used the electric ones and I find it great - it's a medela symphony (yellow). It's fairly expensive to hire ($115 a month) but it mimics a baby's sucking patterns (i.e. start with the little shallow sucks then go to longer/slower pattern). To start with I was getting 20 - 50ml but now I've got up to 190 ml, averaging 100ml (but I've been expressing a fair bit for many reasons too). I find this pump great.

I also tried a medela lacta something? Blue one.. but it was faulty (it's the older more basic one $80 hire/month) so once I realised it was faulty (first night home ARRGH!), I rushed out and just got the same yellow one that I used at hossie. There's also little more portable electric ones too that Medela make but i haven't tried 'em.

Also, I think you can hire through Mother's Direct/ABA at a discount if you've joined ABA.

Georgi, great suggestion on the chux wipes - our little man LOVES to pee as soon as his doodle is free! (haha that rhymed! Ahem! :redface:).

Re nappy rash my friend uses Lucas PawPaw ointment (and her little girl did have very bad nappy rash) - X's bum was briefly a bit red, used some of that and it cleared up in no time!

argh... I really wanna post, but I've had no time! My little man is feeding ALL THE TIME at the moment, mostly cos I got cracked nipples (so much OW. Give me labour any day!) and I've had nipple shields in order to be able to heal up. So, feeding from them takes ages, and I can't pull him off too soon or my supply will decrease - so, until I learn to type while feeding, I can't regularly contribute.

:( I hate missing out on these first weeks with everyone! Boo hoo.

Blizz/Georgi - thanks for the suggestions, such a simple remedy but mumnesia strikes again and my brain has seemed to lose normal thinking capacity.

I have heard that bepanthan is good - but was given some curash so have been using it. I might give the paw paw ointment a go as it is natural. I have been using it on his chin as he has a little rash there from all the sucking he is doing!!!

Itsme - I can't comment on the expressing as I haven't had to do any of it yet. Logan is doing a good enough job of milking me - I feel a bit like a jersey cow at the moment. He slept this morning for at least 5 hours and then has fed on and off all afternoon, just got him down to a proper sleep again after a bath and more feeding!

Helly - Good on you for hanging in there, sounds like you are doing it tough.

yes kylie that B stuff for nappy rash is great. I use it on Mia and the redness is gone by the next nappy change!! its pretty cheap too.

Itsme - I have used manual and electric pumps - I personally find electric much easier to handle - I have issues with let down if I try and express inbetween feeds :rolleyes: so put the electric on the other side when Zander is feeding (I know in mornings he will only take one side when my supply is high after *resting* - switch it on and away it goes - bit of juggling but it's ok and I can now get 100ml one side at that time of day within about 7 minutes :dance: I have a Medela Mini Electric - bought it for $70 on Ebay with Giselle so it is 3.5 years old and still works perfectly - it has power adapter and also battery operated option which I found great for in the car :redface: for our trips back to Melbourne to see family etc .... few strange looks from the truckies :lol:

blizz - how old is your bubba - your ticker says under 2 weeks??? That sleep/awake time sounds normal for a baby half your luck - they are like cats to start with and sleep around 16-18 hours a day! My boy sleeps well, but at the moment has to be settled every sleep cycle 30 - 40 minutes - but I perservere unless he is really upset etc cos I know he will learn to settle again soon - he does well overnight though so who knows???!!

I use zinc ointment as a barrier nearly every nappy change but if he has a few runny poos in a row and gets a bit red, bepanthen is the winner for me.

Well my boy went 7.5 hrs from 6.30pm - 2am this morning - then 6am - this is the 4th night he has roughly been on this clock - so hubby and I are hoping that in another couple of weeks he will drop the 2am feed - even if the feed pulls back to 5am - I can cope with that :)

Oh, apart from we put our Christmas tree up today :o yes a bit early, but I love making the most of the decorations and the lead-up to Christmas. We are not going back to Victoria this year for Christmas (belfie :(), just too much with pressies, and babies, and potentially still feeding overnight and staying with relo's and trying to be quiet etc etc etc having to be taken down etc - but my sister and family and my dad and his wife will come up between christmas and NYE so that will be nice!

Re routine, X has taken to doing 9.30pm, 3.30am and then 8-9am. It's just lovely. I think he sleeps more than some babies (maybe I have a lazy one hahaha), cos you guys sound like you're getting more awake time than use. X has pretty much been snoozing all day today - 1 hour feeds and he's had a bath & some awake time after his last feed, but really that's been about it. He's also stopped doing poos in a major way (last big one was Weds :o) so nappy changes are very cruisey. I've read that from 6 weeks onwards this is what happens, but just want to check with someone (which is everyone!) more knowledgeable than me - this is ok, right?

Hi all just a quick one.

Cream I use for red bum is sudocream, works really well and clears up redness by the next nappy change.

Belfie b/f babies can go up to a week without a poo, I usually find this happens when they are having a growth spurt and are using more of the goodies from the milk.

BELFIE I second what Sami said. Don't worry about the ease up of poops. B has eased up his poos too. Though occaisionally he has an explosive, up the back one.

SAMI Sounds like B & Z are very similar. I have to settle B every 45 mins or so, but he sleeps great overnight. He goes down around 7 or 8, wakes at 1 or 2am, then at 5 or 6am. If I go to bed around 8.30/9/30 I find I get a solid sleep. I'm hoping he'll drop that 1/2am feed too. Do you reckon I need to do anything to help drop it? Like try to re settle him instead of feed him? Or should he drop it on his own?

BELFIE I used the Medela Symphony when B was in the SCN. I really liked it too. I don't have anything now. I just feed B every time. I still have 10ltrs of expressed milk in my freezer

ITSME I agree with Belfie, but don't know if you want to spend the money to hire one. B only takes 10-20 mins to feed & has 1.5hours wake time so I can fit the whole routine in quite easily. It sounds like you're starting the right way. I started with only once or twice a day until B had more awake time

Well I've had an unusual afternoon with B. I think he was over stimulated with meeting his cousins for the first time. He fed at 2.30, 4.30 & 6.30. He has never done this before. He is a 4 hourly feeder. He hardly slept all afternoon. He finally went to sleep at 8pm so I'm hoping tonight is the night that he sleeps through. Considering he fed all afternoon he should be full for the night. I'll let you's know how we go.... Fingers crossed.

Well ethan was awake from 230am (had a mini sleep between 5-530) and is still awake.
yay for me. I put him on the breast for a feed at 1230am and he took it well then all morning all he wanted to do was comfort suck - and when he got milk he would get upset. But wont take a dummy!

Belfie -i have known a lot of girls that have bubs who go a week. DD is a regular girl and we havent missed 1 day in her 17 months of life without a poo! :)

Georgie... omg the beach sound good today .. but i am having my coles groceries delivered this mornig.. and cant leave the house :(

Belfie - I know, boohoo - but might be down late January instead :) Oh, yeah to the poo question, and then they have a big up the back, out the sides, explosion when you are out doing your groceries or something .... true! :ROFL:

Georgi - yep they are buggers with their day sleeping! That's why I don't get any sleep during the day - easy to say to DH - oh Z had 2 hour sleep - but I had to resettle him twice so didn't get any myself! Thankfully he is good overnight at the moment.

Re - doing anything to drop a feed - unfortunately no. Up until 6 months it is quite normal for breastfed bubs to feed overnight - but that doesn't stop the wishing! Riley first slept through at 10 weeks and pretty regularly after that, Giselle was 8 weeks the first time, but just to trick me like the little minx she is - continued to feed overnight most nights until she was 10 months old - she is little though so needed it. I am hoping cos Zander is doing well in feed and weight etc that he could drop it around Christmas so I could have a couple of sparkling drinks on NYE after expressing a few feeds ... ;) been far too long .... anyway, I digress, only thing to try and encourage it is to ensure he has enough feeds during the day for his quota, so if he wants to cluster feed in the late afternoon/evening let him - I know it is hard to just sit for 3 hours on end though sometimes - that's why I express 80ml for Dh to give him when I am looking after the other kids pj's, teeth, books etc.

PP - Ethan is 2 weeks younger than Zander, so you just never know what will happen in the next two weeks! I felt like the cluster feeding overnight was never gunna end, but it did all of a sudden around 1 month. So there is definitely some light coming your way!

Last night zander went from 6.40pm feed (bed at 7.30) to 2.30am - back in bed at 3am (grunted and groaned for an hour but I have come to learn he does all that in his sleep ...) and then woke again at 6.40am :o .... However my poor darling daughter woke with a 38.5 temp and water vomits at - you guessed the time - 3.15am so I was up until 4.30am with her :( Oh well such is life and I still feel ok. She seems alright this morning, but is watching playschool with only one eye open ...

Better get the washing on the line whilst they are both quiet!!!

PP Yeah the beach would've been nice. Though DH has gone back to work today so I have the house to myself.. Yay! I can finally get some cleaning done & make sure Byron sticks with his routine. DH always puts it out.

SAMI Thanks for that. Byron is a regular routiner so he rarely cluster feeds. He did last night though, but I was re settling alot, boo hoo. I thought last night he'd sleep through. I fed him at 3.15am then again at 8am, but I had to co sleep with him from 4am so I doze rather than sleep. Hope your DD is feeling better today

Hi girls - just a quick drop in to say that i have finally uploaded some photos of Logan in my gallery. Still to organise a ticker though lol

Itsme: 40mL was a pipe dream when I tried, but I got 40mLs later when I expressed while breast feeding. I finally started to get the hang of letting Jude be more upright instead of horizontally across my chest so I can fit the pump on my other boob. I can only express when I have a very full boob, but that's not that often for me. I just tried now and I got 20mL.

kylieb77: I have a spare terry nappy down on the change mat and after I take Jude's dirty nappy off and wipe his privates I fold the nappy inbetween his legs and over his willy while I prepare the next nappy. He's only peed all over the place once. Watch the willy, it goes up like a flag pole just before he pees.

I also use sudocream like Amanda because I have 2 sample tubs that came in the bounty bags, I use the smallest amount because we use cloth nappies and nappy rash isn't a problem, but the red bum after hot runny poos needs a little soothing sometimes.

Georgi: I did some of your exercises just now, it was great fun for us both. I don't think I've been very good about bonding time with Jude, I feel so busy feeding then settling all the time.

Belfie: 1 poo a week sounds good, Jude did the most disgusting green poo last night. It stank!

SamiH: You put your xmas tree up already? :lol:

Weird weather we're having here at the moment. I don't know if it's going to storm or not. we went out to a friend's b'day party last night and Jude couldn't settle at their house, so he was awake and got really upset, the worst I've seen him. Luckily he settled in the car on the drive back home. Phew!

When is it ok to start controlled crying?

kuraiza - Do you have an electric breast pump? I have a manual one, so I'd find it too hard to bf and express at the same time. Now I'm wondering if I should get an electric one.

I bought some formula today. I really hate the idea of giving Maya formula, but I have something to go to on Saturday night (that I can't take Maya to) and I just cannot express enough milk to test run a feed and then have a feed ready for Saturday. I just bought a tiny box of already made up formula to see if she'll actually take it.

Is anyone getting their OB a thank you gift? If so what are you getting them? I've been trying to decide whether to get my OB something. I feel so grateful that she delivered my Maya safe and well - I guess I feel it more so cos she did the c/s. Even though I am also aware it's her job!

Itsme: No I have a manual pump. I find it really had too, but I sit on a cushion on the floor and and rest Jude down between my legs and the pump rests on my thigh and I can kind of balance it. It's not easy.

I think my Ob made enough money from me, I hadn't considered buying a gift. Sure I liked him, but a gift seems too much.

Pink: Controlled crying is very controversial and most definitely doesn't apply to a young baby. Please talk to your doctor or nurse about settling your baby, I know a crying baby can do your head in but they cry for a reason and it could be medical.

ITSME I would never consider getting my Ob a gift. I think they get paid extremely well & seeing the bub they just delivered is their gift. Just my opinion

PINK I use a little control crying now. Byron doesn't go to sleep without a fight. I sit next to his cot, and pat his chest while whispering shhh shh shh. Sometimes he absolutely howls, but it's normally just before he dozes off. Most times he not crying for long. If I think he's getting too worked up, I pick him up, pat his back until he settles a little, then put him straight back down again. I find his cry eases then the pating on the chest (well the arms really cause they're wrapped in front of him) will get him completely settled. Gee, I hope that makes sense. I think some babies are crying babies more than others & if your baby is one of them, then a little control crying is ok as long as you are there re assuring them.

KURAIZA I'm glad you enjoyed your exercise time. It does make you feel like there is some fun time. Byron doesn't settle when he's out of the house either. He's just a home body. It's hard to take him anywhere cause he won't sleep well while out. I also thought you might be interested.... Another member of BB is organising a walking group on Monday's at 8am starting at North Burleigh club. I got an sms about it today. I'm going for sure. I'm enjoying spending time with my nieces. They love their cousin. The 3 year old was embarrassed when she saw me feeding Byron as all my sisters girls were bottle fed. It was so funny to see the look on her face. She was so surprised. She's getting use to it though. I told her that her mummy had milk in her boobies too, she just put it in the bottle to give to her & her sisters. She says Byron has a ding dong. So cute.

oh that's such a good question re the obs. I kinda wondered the same thing. Then decided I've paid him enough (:lol:) but now reading this, I'm wondering again. I see him on Weds for my follow-up... so I've one day to decide!

I went to see a physio today who specialises in pelvic floor & all that kinda stuff. Was really fascinating to get an assessment of how well my PF muscles are (not) working (ha!), and she's given me some specific exercises. I was really pleased I went (I was also going to further investigate prolapse stuff too, so i had lotsa motivation). God, that's just reminded me that i haven't done the exercises since getting home!

X has been a very snacky boy this evening but i think he's finally got enough in his belly to snooze for a bit longer. I think he distracted the physio at our appt cos he snored & snorted loudly thru the entire appt :rofl: and it kept cracking her up!

Itsme - honestly I reckon a little bit of formula really won't hurt - she's getting like 99.9% breastmilk which will be doing great for her. (ok so I might be biased, as X is probably on 90% breastmilk & 10% formula - so I have to be ok with it).

oh and thanks for the replies about the poos - that's good to hear. He still hasn't gone (and he's pretty happy still) so I reckon it's gonna be an absolute corker when it hits! :o I think I'm gettin' scared!!! Plus he's such a guzzly boy, he took nearly 200ml the other day... it's gotta go somewhere eventually! We're currently having a "break" from BF'ing - it's doing me wonders... i"m sooo much more relaxed (he's having EBM). Just gotta get my LC back and we'll get back on the wagon in a few days.

Kylie - totally agree re Logan, such a spunky little cutiepie!

Well another night of 2am feed and then 6.30 - fingers crossed for this routine, I can live with that!

I have woken with a lovely red allergic conjunctivitis eye this morning - damn it! Looks like i will be wearing sunnies in the shops today too ....

belfie - I can't believe Xander took 200mls! Mind you I have no idea really how much my boy takes apart from the EBM bottle before bed - which he seems to average around 80mls before he gets too tired and that's it. I can't even express 200mls in one sitting yet either .... :rolleyes:

Georgi - I resettle Zander like you do with Byron, he usually gets very dopey in my arms before I put him in the cot first, but after that I shhhh sshhhh quietly and give him a little pat and he usually will settle and doesn't often scream - if he does scream I will pick him back up for cuddles and start again .... funny how you get to learn their cues and whether they are really upset (pain ec) or just so damn tired they don't know what to do with themselves!

Itsme - what about storing the 40ml lots you can get off for one bottle? You can add breastmilk at same temperature etc so if you expressed 4 x 40mls over 2 days, there would be two feeds (roughly) ... do what you have to and as belfie said, try not to feel bad about it, but I know it is hard cos I am the same, Zander hasn't had any formula yet either (but I do have the tetra packs in the cupboard and some S26 sticks for any just in case emergencies ... :)

Right, off to do some errands whilst DD in care today :D Boring, Medicare, blood test to check my iron levels after the dropped so much after birth, might squeeze a coffee in the sun in somewhere ....

We did controlled crying with DD and it was wonderful - only tooka few nights and then all we had to do were put her in her cot and walk out and she would self settle - just cant remember when i started it!!

Well DS woke at 10,1,3,430 and 6am... mmmm is that better than last night lol. who the hell knows!

i stopped giving Jack the Infacol for his Colic.. and got the Brauer natural one.. and after 2 doses he is VERY settled.. and has settled himself to sleep in his bassinette :D

Re : infacol - I have been using it for Zander for the 4pm feeds until morning feeds cos he gets wind then .... with the Brauer one do you only use it at feeds, or is it one you have to give to them all day a few drops at a time etc - and which one? the stomach relief or colic one ? Heck if it works for you I might try that instead too - only been using it for 10 days but it does seem to have helped Zander settle overnights.

I found when i was using the Infacol Jacks poos went back to being yellow water!!! we shall see what his poos are like with the Brauer one.. It said to give 1ml every 1/2hr for 4 doses (we only got to 2 then he was asleep) then every 4hourly....suppose he shall have another dose in 2 1/2 hrs....see how we go...

i must admit i am a lazy mum!!! i should settle him in his bassinet at nights but i just put him in bed with me and he sleeps!! am going to try (if he isn't screaming!!) to get him back into his bassinet at night... because when we buy the new cot i want him to sleep in that!!!

Thought I'd have some down time online before going to bed.. Maya has been awake for hours.. and has finally gone down for a sleep!

Thanks for your replies about getting OB a present. I also think I have already paid a lot. Now I think I will just get her a thank you card.

Oh and I tried feeding her just 20 mls of formula to see if she'd take a bottle and also to see if she would drink formula. And she did drink it which is a relief. So it means I should be able to go out on Saturday night. Though I imagine it's going to be very hard to leave her for a few hours! :o

SamiH - I can't get 40 mls of expressed milk. I can only manage at the most 20 mls and most of the time I can get nothing. Now I have 60 mls in the freezer, but from my calculation Maya would be having 120 mls a feed?! Not sure if that's right. So I only have half a feed saved up. Hope your eye clears up soon!!

Anyway that's all I can manage for now.. I'm really tired now.

Itsme - sorry hun I musta got you confused with someone else who posted they can get 40mls (sleepiness does it to you!!) - yeah it is hard to know how much they will take, at least if you have DH prepared with formula there is always more if she happens to be extremely hungry at that time. What's your big event - look forward to the break if you can but I am sure you will worry secretly the whole time ;)

katones - sometimes when I do the 1/2am feed I go to feed in bed - but realise my DD has already crawled in at some stage during my sleep and there is no more room - she is starting to do this alot - must be her settling in with the new bub. I can't fully fall asleep if Zander is in the bed - very aware he is there - and he farts to much anyway :rofl:

Sorry no personals atm, but wanted to let you all know that Olivia had her weigh and measure yesterday, and my darling girl has put on some. She still hasnt reached her birth weight of 2380gms yet but getting there slowly but surely. She now weighs 2250gms h/c still 34cm and her length is 46cm. We have the pediatrician appt on Friday so will see how it goes with him. anyway hugs all and take care.
