Maya my DS never had a tongue tie but we had a rough start BF, isn't it awesome when it goes so smoothly second time round. Miss Z attaches perfectly and now that my milk is well and truly in I am getting all those gorgeous milk drunk looks.

I think it is finally sinking in that she is really here and all mine, I just cant get enough of her.

    Hiya!!!

I have every intention of being way more active in this thread!!!

Just on day 3 of recovery from the big C...gosh, it's so much harder than recovering from natural! I'm really disliking not being able to do much...I couldn't even change a nappy until yesterday. DH is being amazing doing all the nappy changes, passing her to me for feeds, walking around burping etc. Yesterday, he gave me with a beautiful Pandora bracelet for 'giving him the best gift he has ever received'...so that was really sweet.

I'm chewing on arnica tablets and tissue salts like mad hoping to speed it all up a bit- I hate this level of dependency.

Still being in hospy is starting to do my head in. I can't wait to get her home but being here is preventing me from doing too much, I guess. We're going home tomorrow. Dh still has another 2-3 weeks off so that will be lovely. I'm missing DS like crazy. He's Dad has brought him in for a few visits but it's not the same.

As for Olivia- she's amazing. So far, she has been extremely easy. She's gotten herself into a very predictable 4 hourly feed routine...my milk just came in this morning so I've got my fingers crossed that she says with this for a while.

Not sure how I'm feeling re the delivery yet...very mixed...relieved but there's a whole lot of disappointment thats simmering just below the surface. I think I'll write a birth story...more for my own therapy than for anything else...love yours Maya.

That's it from me for now...sorry if that has seemed like a massive whinge!!!

Enoy your little girls...can't believe how many of them we have...

No way, V, it's not a whinge - that's what this thread and the previous thread is for, hun There's stuff your body didn't get to do that will affect you differently and as long as you know that you can't beat yourself up, ok? Put the stick away! And yes, birth story is in order, warts and all (after all, I referred to my own vagina, which I never thought I'd do, and my midwife will post the story onto the practice's website for the whole world to see me say that!) - it's part of the massive journey that is a person's new life It's YOUR story, what's more. Even without surgery, I'm relying on DP heaps to do stuff I prefer to do (cos I do it better...eeek, let GO of the friggin sweeping standards!!), because we've all got a recovery to do - it's only ever been out of economic necessity that you hear of women in developing countries who give birth and the next day are out in the fields! Those same cultures have still-strong traditions of keeping women off their feet and bonding with their babies for 40 days. My mum's culture has the same thing. Even today I'm conflicted because I'm missing a CFA meeting that I'm a delegate for...leeeeeeeeeeet gooooooooooooo. I can feel how torn you feel from your DS - he'll integrate it well because there's so much love and it's a special circumstance, which he'll learn about in good time. You WILL recover!
Anyhoo, boobs are large and pendulous today, but not rock hard - DS has been helping and from yesterday afternoon Tallarah ramped up her feeding activity and was on about 3-4 times an hour - nice to have a baby who doesn't shred me. That said, I have a lot of appreciation for rocky starts like the one I had with DS - do you find this, too, Oz?
Tallarah is a bit jaundiced, so she got some time today in the sling hammock by the window, then naked on me on the chair by the window. MW will come again today. Heel pr!ck test day.
Dp has taken DS for a big long walk to wang him out - he's been high as a kite since the birth and it's all we can do to try to snag him and bring him back down to earth and regulated emotion! It's just me and my girl and a pile of washing to be folded...all in good time.
Oh, here's my whinge - friggin pelvis thing is still haunting me My groin is pinging - not as bad as when I have the weight in my belly, but really sucky. And if that weren't bad enough, I get an SMS from my mum last night that throws us back to DS's birth...she's flipped a switch again, obviously been having a tipple or lots and decided it's a good idea to lash out at me via sms. Way to go. I forwarded it to my dad (my tip is that they've stopped talking again) and told him I was deleting the message to get on with things. Like it's not hard enough riding DS's emotional immaturity...and he actually deserves attention for it. Sigh.
Today is the day I go on FB to officially acknowledge the birth...yay me, I held out 3 days! I didn't think I'd make it
Hi everyone else and post in soon!

Hi Girls, I joined the Sept 16-30th thread too,, but as Ella was born with only 7 mins till the 1st Oct I thought I wuld hang out in this thread too, plus its nice to be with the girls Ive just shared the last nine months with!

Have had 4 really rough days. She went a 17 hour stretch with NO sleeping, she screamed, cried, fussed, stared blankly and ate and ate and ate all from 5:30pm-10:30am the next day. and she hasnt been much better the past few days. She started out fine but now everything has just gone to pieces! I feel like a mad woman. even when she does manage to sleep it is only for an hour at a time max!!!! any ideas on settling a baby who HATES to sleep, also has major wind and gets seriously overtired?????

    Hi Ladies,

Im Rach, i was in the other october thread, though Evangeline decided to make her entrance 12 days early. Actually today is my due date . Anyway looking forward to chatting with you all, but i will admit i did sticky beak in your BB thread a few times, so recognise some of the user names.

Anyway for those who don't know me, i put my birth story up the other day.

My little Evangeline has settled in so very well She is a very content little baby, and i was actually told by a few mums from SIDS, that a baby born after you have lost one usually ends up with a very similar attidude. I do think this is correct, Lilli was a very easy baby to. lol its just their big brother thats always been the handful

Hope you girls are all having a great day,
    RACH
