No way, V, it's not a whinge - that's what this thread and the previous thread is for, hun There's stuff your body didn't get to do that will affect you differently and as long as you know that you can't beat yourself up, ok? Put the stick away! And yes, birth story is in order, warts and all (after all, I referred to my own vagina, which I never thought I'd do, and my midwife will post the story onto the practice's website for the whole world to see me say that!) - it's part of the massive journey that is a person's new life It's YOUR story, what's more. Even without surgery, I'm relying on DP heaps to do stuff I prefer to do (cos I do it better...eeek, let GO of the friggin sweeping standards!!), because we've all got a recovery to do - it's only ever been out of economic necessity that you hear of women in developing countries who give birth and the next day are out in the fields! Those same cultures have still-strong traditions of keeping women off their feet and bonding with their babies for 40 days. My mum's culture has the same thing. Even today I'm conflicted because I'm missing a CFA meeting that I'm a delegate for...leeeeeeeeeeet gooooooooooooo. I can feel how torn you feel from your DS - he'll integrate it well because there's so much love and it's a special circumstance, which he'll learn about in good time. You WILL recover!
Anyhoo, boobs are large and pendulous today, but not rock hard - DS has been helping and from yesterday afternoon Tallarah ramped up her feeding activity and was on about 3-4 times an hour - nice to have a baby who doesn't shred me. That said, I have a lot of appreciation for rocky starts like the one I had with DS - do you find this, too, Oz?
Tallarah is a bit jaundiced, so she got some time today in the sling hammock by the window, then naked on me on the chair by the window. MW will come again today. Heel pr!ck test day.
Dp has taken DS for a big long walk to wang him out - he's been high as a kite since the birth and it's all we can do to try to snag him and bring him back down to earth and regulated emotion! It's just me and my girl and a pile of washing to be folded...all in good time.
Oh, here's my whinge - friggin pelvis thing is still haunting me My groin is pinging - not as bad as when I have the weight in my belly, but really sucky. And if that weren't bad enough, I get an SMS from my mum last night that throws us back to DS's birth...she's flipped a switch again, obviously been having a tipple or lots and decided it's a good idea to lash out at me via sms. Way to go. I forwarded it to my dad (my tip is that they've stopped talking again) and told him I was deleting the message to get on with things. Like it's not hard enough riding DS's emotional immaturity...and he actually deserves attention for it. Sigh.
Today is the day I go on FB to officially acknowledge the birth...yay me, I held out 3 days! I didn't think I'd make it
Hi everyone else and post in soon!
