Morning everyone,
We had a much better night last night. Ethan seems to be getting better.

Thanks Willow - yes we are watching him very carefully. He doesn't have a dreadful cough which is why I was suprised when the doc said he had croupe. He is just really rattly. The doc gave him some medicine at the surgery yesterday which is I think the same as what you described. It was a miracle drug as he was much better within a couple of hours. He is using the nebuliser 4 times a day which is also helping but he hates it. Keeps trying to pull the mask off and he is so strong.

Fairly good afternoon yesterday. Ethan slept for 3 hours and only woke once which is unheard of for him and slept most of the night only waking 3 times. Hopefully he will have lots of sleep again today and will be even better tomorrow.

in other news, found mr cheeney fast asleep facing the whole other way in his cot this morning. usually he'll wake up and tell me but this time he just moved around and went back to sleep. funny.

he crawled in a shuffle kind of way backwards yesterday. he can only go forwards if he holds my finger and pulls himself forward. hehe.

Trish - again our boys are in cahoots! Same thing happened here. If he's having a rough day or he won't settle I will give him his dummy but he's never had it overnight (never needed it, he settles so well at night) and most day sleeps he doesn't have it either now. I'll be very happy if we get rid of it now, it can be such a pain later on! I think WE become reliant on it before they do and get scared they won't settle without it!

BTW - der! Can't believe I didn't think of dummy rash! It's pretty common once they start slobbering!

Did the Ergos come in?? Dying to know what you think of them.

Not much happening here. Another pretty good night, fed and settled easily. Still rockin' and rollin' around his cot, he'll get the hang of it eventually. We went shopping for a little while this morning after dropping DD off at preschool, he was really good, had a little sleep in his pram but was happy the whole time. Called into the Bonds Factory Outlet but they only had stuff for little girls, hardly any boy stuff. Brought him home and fed him, he's been asleep for nearly 2 hours.

**ETA: Nic, there was a Tupperware lady down at the Plaza today and I thought of you straight away! Didn't have time to stop and have a look but thinking of having a party. How far do you travel?

which shops were you at? our distributor has just been at Sylvania and Blacktown shops the last 2 weeks. Next week we have the Easter show for 3 days, think im going to be there Thursday morning for a few hrs

just put more pics on FB of playgroup thismorning, we had some baby chicks to pat, made some easter baskets and had a visit from the easter bunny!!

Wow to all those babies that are movbile in their cots!! my little one is still wrapped and now both arms are back in! Now I just have her little cough to deal with. Spoke to the Doc today and he said that more than likely it was just the stuff from her nose running down the back of her throat and irritating her. so I am not too concerned. Had the humidifier on again last night - only last 10 hours so will turn it on before I put her to bed and then turn it off once she is in there and then turn it back on before I go to bed.
DH is home tomorrow!!! YAY! Oh and we have to vote :(

Anyway - work has been hectic and they have asked me to come in tomorrow to help with stocktake...ummmm how exactly is having me and my baby - who doesnt like to not be the centre of attention - going to help?!? Oh well - can put it towards the hours that I missed while C was sick.
anyway - had better head off and pick up the little one. I wonder how her eye si today after being at daycare again?

Evening all

About to start packing for our week away. I can't believe that someone so small needs twice the amount of stuff that DH and I need put together. Guess I just want to prepare for all eventualities.

Puppies have gone to ILs for the week so they get a holiday too. When we get back our house should hopefully be painted. So it is all happening around here.

Feel absolutely shattered today. Got to bed at 1.30am, up at 2.30am to settle L, up again at 3.45am to do a feed and then finally up for the day at 6.30! Been out and about all day so didn't get a nap in. I really need this holiday.

DH is taking the laptop with us so I will probably check in while I am away. But if I don't take care and have a good week.

Hi all,

Took the girls to the beach today. Had Amara in the Scootababy carrier and had a golf umbrella over us while Eliza had a ball playing in the sand. It was exhausting but fun. Thought about getting a sunshade but Amara wants to be with me anyway so can't see the point as she will be mobile soon enough! Just another thing I would have to carry.....

Have been having our house painted this week (outside) so it has been a pain, smells, open doors, gates, saws, paint tins and glue guns lying around in the yard all good fun for an inquisitive 3 year old NOT!!!!

Glad it is finished.

Amara now loves playing with ther toys. Her fave is a rubber teether and she also likes the Steiner wooden teether I bought her.

I suppose ours wasn't too bad. I got up every 2 hours to Ethan who is still not quite himself. The funny thing was that he fed at 5.30 and went back to sleep until 8 played for an hour and then went back to sleep. Anyway I am not complaining at least I have some peace and quiet.

DH is away for the weekend so I am all alone :(

Am going out soon to see if civilsation still exists. Been house bound for days.

am thrilled to note that my supply is through the roof. i'm even engorged again for the first time in months.

he hasn't even been hungry for ricey paste either. he had 6 feeds yesterday, which is a nice change from 9-11. i suspect my supply or quality was utter carp. looks like all this eating is working.

That's awesome Viv, I'm so glad things are going well again for you. It is such hard work when they want to feed all the time.

Alz - I hope Ethan gets better soon. You poor thing being alone for the weekend.

Leah - A day at the beach sounds nice, but hard work LOL! I don't know if I'd contemplate that by myself just yet.

Poor K has a nasty cough and he couldn't sleep for his morning nap because he couldn't stop coughing. Think we'll have to take him to the dr to get looked over. I feel terrible, I'm dizzy and feeling tired and sick, not much fun when you also have to look after two sick kids :(. DH has gone out for a little while, but I told him to hurry back so he can drive us to the dr, I feel too dizzy to drive. Things can only get better from here though! :D

trish - sounds like hard work round your way, if you all feel carp.

great news re your supply viv! but yes be carefull now not to get mastitis if supply is up but less frequent feeding.
Trish- did u all get up to the doc? is so horrible to be sick and have to look after kids let alone look after sick kids when sick urself.....hope u all pick up soon.

i had a scrapbooking day today, as usual didnt get much done. Tyron is at 1month and Nixon 15months so i have fallen way behind! my sis and i had arranged a plan that 1 day a week i'll mind her 2 for a few hours and next week swap. in that time its all about doing photos! no washing , ironing, surfing the net just catching up on what we both love doing but never get enough time to do!

dh has now gone put, about to put the both of them to bed and hoping to knock off a few pages!

Nic - Your day of scrapbooking sounds LOVELY! It must have been nice to have some "me"time. We didn't take K to the dr because he fell asleep before DH got home and as the day went on he got a bit better. He was up coughing this morning though :(

Viv - Yep it is hard work with everyone being sick. I suppose there will be many more days like this to come yet!

K had a better night last night. I put him to bed later, he didn't actually fall asleep until 9pm (*tsk tsk*), but then he didn't wake for a feed until 4:45am. He went back to bed and would have stayed asleep, but he had a coughing fit and didn't really go back to sleep properly until 6am. I think if he wasn't sick he would have done really well. I managed to dose on and off all morning so I feel ok today so far.

It is our wedding anniversary today! 6 years of marriage, wow that went fast! We don't have anything special planned. We are all sick (except DH) and it is going to be another hot day today.

Ooh, I managed to upload some new stock on my website yesterday. It took me all day in amongst doing other stuff, but I'm glad I've actually started things up again.

I know when Tahlia had her cold/cough, she was always worse in the morning and then improved as the day went on. 9 - 4.45am sounds like a pretty good stretch for him last night! Hope your feeling better too! Its our wedding anniversary this week too, on Thursday, 4 years for us!

Finally went to check out the ergos yesterday... I was impressed! Still trying to convince DH that we need one though! Trish - I might PM you about them

DH and I are going out for lunch today for our anniversary, 1st time we have left Tahlia can you believe? My sister is looking after her, I hope she behaves for her!

Since my Mum has to live with us we needed a bigger place so we are in the middle of moving.
We should get the keys to our new place tomorrow or Tuesday.
I'll post before we leave but not sure how long i'll be without internet.

It's our anniversary on Thursday too - all these March weddings hey??

We're going up the coast to my parent's place for easter, last minute decision but am looking forward to it. Bit nervous though cause last time we went was a disaster! The kids didn't sleep very well and I was on my own (DH couldn't come, had to work) and it was soooo stressful! But L has improved out of sight since then (he was only about 9 weeks old) so we should be good.

Anyway, I'm thinking we'll take advantage of the baby sitters and go out for dinner for our anniversary! We never get to do that when we're at home cause we don't really have anyone other than MIL to mind them and I don't like to ask her unless it's absolutely necessary, because she's the one that always has to do it, iykwim.

Had a good night last night. We had friends over for a bbq and L was a very good boy. In bed at 7pm and didn't hear a peep out of him all night! Dream fed him at 11pm when I was going to bed, then he woke at 2am and then slept till 6.30am. Fed him and put him back down, but he only slept till about 7.30am.

Trish - have the Ergos come in? Was just sussing out ebay, they only had two listings. But I discovered there's not much point in selling my bjorn, wouldn't get enough for it so might as well hang on to it and just keep it in the car or something. There's about 1,000,000 others listed on ebay and mine's an original so they aren't selling for much.

Mo - good luck with the move.

Boring day at home today, it's too hot to go anywhere! I took K out to the shops earlier to buy DH an anniversary pressie. I couldn't get to the shops this week coz I was feeling so sick, but I'm feeling a lot better today :).

Willow - I am still waiting on the Ergos! The courier company sent them to the wrong depot apparently, but I won't find out until tomorrow what is happening with them. You don't get much for Baby Bjorns anymore on eBay! Hope you have fun for your anniversary, it would be so nice to go out without the kids.

Mo - Happy moving! Are you moving far from where you are now?

Kellie - Happy anniversary to you too! I can't believe there are so many anniversaries at once!! March is a great time of year to get married.

Trish we are moving to Carrum Downs so not too much further.

so because i spent the day scrapbooking yesterday i made today tupperware parties. i did two. the first was for my sister, she has had one for me b4, but went so well, she got $400 worth of stuff for free.... so we helped each other out!
Tyron was very spewy tonight, thought we got past that, i mean he still spews a lto but def increased the amount tonight, i coped it all over me 3 times. quiet unsettled too
so i am setting my alarm for 5.45am getting up and going to a work out in the park that is run by a WW group i am in! every week i forget about it, but looking forward to excersising properly. i used to do so much before kiddies but there is just not enough hrs in the day, the only time i will ever feel like or have time to do it is sparrows fart. wish me luck!

Trish - hope you guys are improving. Sick kids is hard work. Eliza also drags home all the bugs from preschool!!

Viv - congrats on the full boobies :), my supply has been a bit down too. This heat has not helped.

Had a good weekend here. Went to a 3rd birthday dinner on Sat night and Eliza had a ball, heaps of playmates :) We left at 9.30pm and she was still hyper. Amara was good, she fell asleep there, woke when we got home but had a feed and went back to bed.

We got to meet the surviving twin of my friends who lost their other little girl late last year. The little survivor is now almost 4 months old and weighs 3.4kg. It is amazing to see a baby so tiny that is 4 months old and she was smiling for us! She is adorable. Amara looks like a toddler next to her.

I also played my first game fo football back ths year (soccer). It was soooo hard but felt good to be running around again, even if I am fat, old and slow. The other teams average age was about 18 (less than half my age LOL!) We only lost 1 - 0 so not too bad for a bunch of fogies. We do have 3 ex-Australian Matilda players on our team but they have not played for a while and it was boiling hot. I bet I will hardly be able to walk tomorrow!

The Ergos have landed LOL! How exciting!! I tried one out with K earlier, but he was being cranky so he didn't last long in it! He is not himself with this cold, he is so grumpy all the time. He still has a nasty cough the poor thing, I'm monitoring his temperature in case it turns into an infection. I look forward to giving the Ergo a good test run!

Thanks Leah, we are all improving slowly, poor Kieran is the sickest of us all atm. That's awesome you got out and played soccer! I used to play soccer with my work's corporate team, DH played too even though he didn't work there. It was a lot of fun and very social (I had never played before). I didn't end up playing in the corporate games though, I was also in the company band and we were busy rehearsing for the upcoming Christmas party, I couldn't be everywhere at once! I miss getting out and doing fun stuff!!

Kellie - Glad you had a great time for your anniversary, yay for alcohol lol! We had a bottle of wine chilling last night, but didn't get a chance to open it. Hopefully tonight! We didn't do anything for our anniversary. I bought DH a pressie, card and some choccies, but he didn't get me anything. I think because we both forgot our anniversary last year until the day after (I had pregnant brain then) he thinks he has gotten off scott-free!

Nic - You're a good girl excercising so early in the morning! Did you actually end up going? Hee hee!

Afternoon everyone!!
Looks like we are all too busy to chat lately! It has taken us ages to get to 4 pages!! Normally by now I think we would be up to page 7 or 8.
Anyway - my weekend was pretty good. Worked on saturday - took little miss C in with me. We did stocktake and it took 8 hours!! fun fun fun! She was pretty good - she likes to be around people and noise. Then we voted.
Oh and DH finally got back and of course - Caitlyn is over her conjunctivitis! Thank goodness. But all I could think about was - look at the fuss I have made about the lack of sleep etc and of coruse she is going to sleep through for the first time in ages. But noooo it wasnt to bed. Poor little miss C has been a bit constipated and of course having a poo was hurting her ALOT!! She pushed and grunted and groaned and went red in the face and basically all we got was a little skid mark. So....we started pumping fruit back into her. Apples yesterday and apples today. Rang daycare and she has finally had one!! YAY But they couldnt tell me what it was like so I will see when I go to pick her up.
Anyway - other than that - its been a very boring couple of days!! But 22 days till I go to Townsville! I can't wait!!! Woohoo - going to see all my friends that I havent seen since October/november.
Anyway - had better get back to work. MWAH

My supply is back too. I'm eating more and back to leaking. I thought my boobs just had the whole feeding thing under control and didn't leak anymore, apparently not. Supply was low. Bad mumma starving her baby! Crazy thing is, have lost a couple of kg's even though eating like a horse?! go figure.

Lu now mobile. liked it better when she was stationary.

Had a wedding in adelaide over the weekend, nice to get away, not long enough.

Sleeping good again, 5 month glitch i decided.

Sorry to hear about all these sick bubs. Hope they are better soon.

Trish - woooot! Glad the Ergos finally turned up. Had L in the bjorn again at playgroup and man is my shoulder paying for it this afternoon. Talked to DH about it last night and he said I could get one! So as soon as I've had a chance to check one out etc I'll let you know. Hope you are all feeling better today.

Nic - know what you mean about exercising...I'd love to but just can't find the time at the moment.

Question of the day - how many of the older bubs have dropped down to two day sleeps? Was looking at my Tresillian chart thingo today which shows rough guidelines of how much and how often they should generally be sleeping at each stage and I can't believe he'll be down to only 2 sleeps in about 6 weeks?! Having said that, he was totally uninterested in his late arvo nap today, was in bed for 1.5 hours but was awake talking and rolling around the whole time :rolleyes:

ange - glad you upped supply again. i think we must have just thought the body knew what it was doing and went back to our old way of eating. when i think about it now, there is no way james was getting enough calories. oops.

i never thought i would be pleased to be sleeping with a towel again.

little man slept through last night 7pm to 5am with an 11pm dream feed. i woke up more than he did.

meanwhile, today has been horrible. he has been trucking through 2.5 and 3 hours for his waking times. last stint was 3.5 hours ending in me feeding him again because the put down, cry, settle, put down, cry settle wasn't gonna fly.

bleh.

it's so weird how nature gives with one hand and takes away with the other. luckily i slept last night or else i would have been thoroughly boogedy today.

has anyone noticed that pregnancy is the new black? i have no less than 3 friends about to pop. is it my age, or is everyone doing it??

celebs: naomi watts, nicole, jessica alba, halle berry, christina aguilera, j-lo, nicole richie... the list goes on. it's not my imagination, i'm sure.

I think it's the age viv. All my friends popping out babies too. Over 30 and all that. Also think i used to be interested in travel, drinking, partying etc. and really dis-interested in babies so never paid attention. Now i eat drink and sleep baby stuff so i pay more attention to baby related things...... I know when i was UTD, it seemed there were pregnant women EVERYWHERE!

Yeah, good night sleep often followed by crap day here. Infact Lu was ratty today. cat napping. whinging.

Can't wait till i'm not BF'ing and can have a genuine day to myself. Is that selfish????

Hi everyone,
What a yuk day! Sounds like a few of us have had a rough couple of days.
Well Ethan and I survived our first weekend alone. DH had a great time away and came back really energized which is good. I came down with a fluey thing last night and have felt like carp all day today. I slept alot as dh had the day off work which was good. Am starting to feel a little better now. Just waiting up to feed E at 10 and then I am going back to bed.

Went back to the doc for Ethan today and he is much better. No more wheezing which is great. Need to keep up with the nebuliser until he stops coughing but the doc is happy with his recovery from croupe. Yay Ethan!!!

He turned 5 months on Saturday which is exciting.

Willow - Ethan is sleeping less too. He often only sleeps for 45 min to 1.5 hours in the late afternoon now. We used to make him go back to sleep but now we let him get up if he wont re-settle and he goes for a while without getting grizzly. Yesterday he slept for 45 min, got up for a play, bath, bottle and then bed but he was awake for about 4 hours!!! His doing not ours. I think he was a little excited to see daddy after him being away for the weekend.

Hi all from Port Douglas!

Having a nice time up here. Been doing the tourist thing. L has been really good considering his routine (what we have anyway) is totally shot. He actually slept through the first night up here but that was only because he hadn't slept more than 2 hours all day.

Viv - KWYM about everyone being pregnant. I think it is partly that I notice these things more now, but definitely seems to be a baby boom happening.
Trish - hope K gets better soon.

Been so busy!

Max & I started swimming lessons today....well him not me :) Was good. He cried when I dunked him but I think that was to be expected. Highly recommend it if you want them to have a good day nap!!

Took him to CHN today. He weighs 8.190kg! Nice one. After all the boob fussing and me thinking he wasn't getting enough...Well...he was. My supply is up (like many of you) back to leaking and engorging! Max has had 3 nights of sleeping through again so lets hope he's over that 5 month hurdle thingy! Nurse also noticed he is teething so that will also explain his fussiness, and was doing extra poops! Still not going to feed solids till 6 months....clearly doesn't need it!

SPORT - I'm dying to get back to kickboxing. Saw a glimpse of biggest loser the other night and saw them boxing....I wanted to jump through the TV and get into it. sigh!

Viv - you are right, there are preggo's and babies popping all over the place!

Trish - Glad to hear you are feeling better!

Ange - Selfish? NO! I am thinking the same as you....it takes some convincing to not feel bad, but hey, you gotta do what you gotta do to feel SANE!

Happy 5 months to little Miss C - It is FLYING isn't it!!!

Better go. Wanna go and sit with DH and veg on the couch. He is going away O/S next week so need to make the most of human contact!

Julia - I've also been thinking about taking Tahlia to swimming lessons, but might wait till after winter and do something like gymbaroo instead in the mean time.

Had a lovely time on our hols - Mateo was great although it really threw his night sleeping, but he is back on track now and only wakes between 3 and 4 am for a feed and goes straight back which is quite good. Although I must confess I can't wait till he sleeps all the way through - am just getting so tired - is anyone else feeling like this?

Julia - Max is a great wight - well done! Swimming lessons is heaps of fun - can't wait to start lessons again after hols.

Well have to cut this short as M is cracking it in his swing - his eczema has flared up again and I think it's giving him a bit of discomfort. Also have to take him for his vaccinations today - I hate them!!!!!!

Viv - Did you used to do pilates with Meg Cooper at Mad dance? It just hit me yesterday that I think I remember you coming in one day with your bridal mag to show Meg - I used to do ballet, pilates and funk there - am looking forward to starting back up again although think I will have to wait until M is off the boobies as most classes are at bed time.

Hello everyone! Rys cough has gone from being a little cough to a full on honk woke up 4 times during the night and wouldnt go to sleep till nearly midnight last night and I somehow stuffed my shoulder, it doesn't hurt to pick things up just if I breath too deep I get stabbing pains in my shoulder and had pains shooting down my arm, mum thinks I've pinched a nerve.

Got ry a dr appointment at a doc here before we go back home because he can barely breath.. it just hit him overnight I'm hoping its nothing too bad. He was fine at my parents, just at my grandparents got really bad. I'm stressed and peevy at the moment.. the whole time I was there they were dictating everything to do with babies to me and took him flinging arms as not wanting the bottle and pouring half the bleeping thing down the sink (when he will eat a whole bottle+extra if you let him)! Then if he whinged in the slightest they would go in and pick him out of bed then bring him to me screaming because he was so exhausted and shaking from being heaved out of bed unexpectedly... WHAT DO THEY EXPECT?

Then had to push him around the shops with both of us barely being able to breath, and he was crying from being overtired, so they could look at baby stores then called me "grumpy mum" the whole time I was there because I said we were there in my car, we were both in pain, and we were leaving with or without them in the car... then I was grumpy mum for getting angry at them not feeding ry properly so I did it in pain and told them to get out because they kept trying to grab him off me saying "look hes pushing the bottle he doesnt want it" if he didn't want it he wouldnt keep sucking and grabbing it back off you if you take it out...

Then saying how bad his colic is because they kept letting him suck air and got annoyed at me shouting at them to hold the bottle up or give him back NOW and kept taking the bottle out mid-suck so he'd dribble it out everywhere and get a shock at having it pulled out so he could cough which meant he didn't want anymore. Then got annoyed that I accused them all of starving him and again I was "grumpy mum"...

So stressful trip, Ry is on the floor squealing and playing he already seems better I don't know if it was an allergy to something in the air I don't know, take him to the dr anyway..

Anyways I'll stop being selfish and whinging and go get him ready for the dr,

Afternoon everyone!

K and I both woke up more unwell today :(. I thought I was getting better! I have a sore throat and runny nose again and K's cough is sounding worse. Hopefully we are on the tail end of it all. Joel had his last kinder before holidays, gee the term went fast! It was a short term I suppose. I spent the time he was in kinder this morning having a nap, so nice! I snuck another nap in while both boys were asleep before, I feel like a nanna having all these sleeps!

K is managing to move around when he is on his tummy, he works himself around in a circular way until he is comes back to where he started. He is trying to roll from his back to his tummy, but can't quite do it yet and he gets really frustrated. Gone are the days where he HATED being on his tummy thank goodness!

Celtic - Your family sounds very frustrating! Sorry you had such a stressful time away. A mum ALWAYS knows what's best!

Star - Welcome back! I'm glad you had a great time away. Yes, I'm tired all the time and I can't wait for K to sleep all the way through as well!

Kellie - DH put K in the Ergo when he got home and he was much happier in it! I think he was just feeling grumpy and sick yesterday. I will give it another go when this weather cools down. Bring on the cool change!!!

Mo - How frustrating that you are still waiting on the keys! Where you meant to get them today? I hope all is settled now.

Julia - Wow on Max's weight! Well done to you!!! How gorgeous taking him to swimming lessons. I've always been paranoid about the germs at out local pools and never enrolled Joel. We have seen yucky things floating in there!

Saffi - Glad you're having a great time in Port D, I'm so jealous! It is one of my most favourite places. Where abouts are you staying there?

Alz - I'm glad Ethan is getting better.

Ange - We had a grumpy day yesterday too, maybe there was something in the air. IKWYM about not b'fing anymore. It was very liberating when Joel weaned!

Viv - I hope James is having a better day today. When I was pg with Joel my two best friends were pg too. When I was pg with K my sister, her SIL and our cousin's wife were all due around the same time. It's weird how it all comes in waves! I reckon it is definitely an age thing though.

Willow - Yay for your DH letting you get an Ergo! Go try one on, I'm sure you will love it! I can't imagine K dropping his third nap any time soon. Yesterday he had 4 naps because he only had short 40 minute naps all day!

Rebecca - Happy belated 5 months to Caitlyn!!! I'm glad to hear her eyes have cleared up.

Kim - We haven't heard from you for a while, I hope you and your gorgeous girls are doing well!

star - yep, i'm a huge fan of meg and mad. i was doing ballet, funk and occasionally pilates as well. we probably did do a few classes together.

Maddi has been pulling at her ears & crying a lot more. Kinda off her bottles & a bit more chucky.
Do you think i should take her the doctors or is it more likely to be teething?

As for the keys we are now suppose to be getting them mid next week, after the property inspection.(We were suppose to get them last Friday)
At least i get another week of the Internet lol.
