Saffi-Enjoy Townsville - were you up not so long ago....or maybe while you were preggers??? It seems familiar thats all! I wish I was there!!
I just said give it up ladies, it was all in good humour - did someone say something about being supportive?!?!?!? Oh, that's the OTHER thread, o.k . . . .
kazaraz - maybe you could write a list of who is allowed to vent and who is not. Falguni can decide who gets it and who doesnt. i'm packing up my toys and going to the perpective page so NERRRRRR
Amy - Sometimes it's hard to convey our tone in our posts LOL. I forgot to say before that you are doing an awesome job raising Fin on your own. My mum became a single mum to three of us when I was 3 1/2, I don't know HOW she did it! My hat goes of to single mums.
Rebecca - Vent any time you need! That's what we're here for .
Saffi - Have a great trip to Townsville! If it were 20 degrees in Melb I would be wearing a short sleeved t-shirt for sure! I am so jealous...
Mo - I'm glad (kinda ;)) that you're feeling sick! How many weeks are you now?
This thread really knows how to butt heads!
Rebecca please don't feel like you can't vent to us, we are more than happy to listen if, If people don't like it they don't have to read the post.
Saffi have fun in Townsville. I had m/s with Maddi from 8 weeks to 15 weeks.
Trish & Saffi I'll be 8 weeks tomorrow :)
Amber congrats on making the finals, When i come to QLD I'm sooo coming to try out your bakery!
Hi girls!
Mo I cant believe your 8 weeks tomorrow! Wow that has gone so quick!
Julia so sorry hun for missing maxs 10 months! Only 1 more of these birthdays till the real one!
Ange looking forward to meeting you and Lu! The pram warehouse isnt too far from me, would love to have coffee and cake! I can bring a cake;) It has been really cold up here! It was down to about 3 out here where i am, but bring your kinis if you like i think the hotel would have a heated spa lol! How did the ob appointment go?
Saffi wow 7 teeth already! He is such a cutie your lil man! Have fun in townsville! Looking forward to catching up on the weekend!
Rebecca vent away hun! Be cranky! We all have carp to deal with hey, so you may aswell have some support! Hope you and Caityln are ok though!
Amy sorry i read your post wrong i thought you were serious! You are doing a fab job as a single mum! It must be tough!
Trish I noticed that too about leah! I think she was wanting to spend more time with the fam cause she isnt making her nappies anymore either, which is a bummer cause they were gorgeous! Bummer about the virius too we all have it here! Myles loves doors and socks too hehe!
Well i had the most gorgeous day with my gf at the races! Got to dress up and be girly for a change! Did miss the lil monkey but had fun all the same!
does anyone give their kiddies cows milk in a cup yet? also does anyone known about goats milk?.
Hope everyone is well! xx
Hey all...
Wow, page 14 ?!?!
Just popping in quickly again.... this thread has been quite amusing lately....... ;)
Sorry again, bad memory but who is Leah?
Rebecca - Hope things are ok with you.... :(
Julia - Happy 10 months and a bit Max!!
Mo - Glad your feeling well! Yay for cookie!
Going away for the weekend so will catch up with you all soon!
Mmmm, Uncle Amy I just have to say you are a cheeky monkey :p
Boomba, I never gave my first cows milk until she was one. I used to put it in her vegies and so fourth, but after she turned 1 I started giving her cows milk instead of formula. I will do the same with my second as well. Not sure about goats milk, its not something I have heard much about.
i feel horrible that i cant remember who Leah is either?! in the back of my mind thinking of someone, what was her user name again? is it Lizzysmum?
Happy 10months yesterday to Max!! and happy 10months today to Harry!
get in now while i have a chance and say Happy 10months to Tyron too!
Trish- ikwym about socks Tyron is forever pulling his off!
Oh so cute! K is watching some kids clap on Sesame Street and is clapping along with them, awww....I love this age!!
Nic - Yep Lizzysmum is Leah. Have you heard from Claire? We haven't seen her in here for ages. Glad K isn't the only bub with a sock fetish!
Becky - Have a great weekend away! Where are you going?
Amber - Glad you had a great time at the races, it's so nice to get dressed up! Re: cows milk, I didn't think they were meant to drink it until 12 months, but maybe that's changed now? You could always ask your MCHN.
Mo - Wow, 8 weeks already! Cookie will be here before we all know it!
Trish how cute, M loves Hi-5 when they come on she starts dancing lol
Amber glad you had a good time yesterday.
8 days to my OB appointment, seems like ages away.
Hi everyone! It's unbelievably quiet in here! Thought I'd pop in so the thread wouldn't feel so lonely LOL.
Still sick here and K is being Mr Cranky-pants today. He woke up 3 times last night so I am beginning to suspect a tooth may be on it's way. Joel has to miss kinder again today, he still has a bad cough, apparently it has made it's way through the kinder and school. I have many years of this to look forward to...
K has mastered commando crawling now and loves being able to go everywhere. He tries to pull himself up on things, but doesn't have enough tummy strength yet (thank goodness). DH was bathing him the other night and as he was undressing him, K dove for the sink and ended up cutting his top gum :(. There was a lot of blood and yesterday it kept opening up and bleeding. I had to clean blood from our carpet which wasn't nice. He seems OK today, just cranky.
Mo - Are you going to find out Cookie's gender? I hope so, I wanna know!
Hi to Kellie, Nic, Julia, Saffi, Willow, Rebecca, Viv, Ange, Karen, Amber, Becky, Claire, Amy, alz, Star, Celtic (where are you??)!!! If I missed you, let me know and I will say hi LOL!
Trish i'm going to try my hardest not to find out but i have no will power so who knows lol.
Poor K seem like every 2nd day our babies have a new bump etc..
Yay for K mastering the C Crawling look out world!
Hope everyone feel better soon Trish.
M was up from 3am til 5:30am she's getting her 8th tooth & it really seems to annoy her in the early morning.
Well I'll do my best to pressure you between now and your 20 week scan :P! Ick at the early morning wake ups, I can't believe she's onto tooth #8! K still only has his bottom two.
Spose I'd better get him out of bed, he's been awake for 20 minutes, but likes to play in his cot for a while before getting up.
Hey guys it has been real quiet in here lately hasnt it!? I guess all our little (not little for too much longer!!) ones are keeping us all busy.
It is tummy bug central here. I had to keep C out of d/are on Wednesday cause she vomited and now DH and I are both alternating turns on the toilet all day. Of course he is worse than me. Dont know if thats karma or what but either way I feel like carp.
Just a quick question. I would really like to start C on white/cheese sauce with her finger vegetables...does anyone know if it is safe to use the stuff that you can get ina tin from gravox for bubs or do I need to make a fresh load every time?? I know I am just looking for shortcuts but am doing my head in trying to finish work at 5 get home and have her dinner ready before 6 when she turns feral and thenjust refuses to eat!
Anyway - had better go get the little munchkin for daycare. Have been scrubbing my hands all day with that antibacterial stuff!! Hope she doesnt get this!!
Bec
MWAH
Hi everyone.
Mo - Mateo has been waking in the early morning with his top teeth coming through as well. I have been giving him a dose of panadol before bed so maybe it starts to wear off at this time? Congrats on the pregnancy by the way!! Very exciing! I'm jealous - I'd love to be pregnant again!!! :)
Trish - hope you are all feeling better!! It's awful when all the family is sick. Kieran sounds like he's really up and about now - there'll be no stopping him!
Rebecca - I always seem to post after your food q's and I probably give you the answers you don't want to hear!!!;) I would use slices of real cheese to have with her vegies if you want her to get some dairy or melt some cheese on top of them. I just think gravox sauces and processed stuff is just empty food totally deviod of any nutrients for little bubbas - but feel free to totally ignore me too!!!:)
Well today I had to do something very scary - I had to book my boy into daycare!!!!! :( I am back at work 2 days next term and my Mum has him one day but no-one for the second! So, went to one that my friend uses, walked into the nursery and one baby was feeding himself a bottle in a playpen, one was sitting in a highchair, one was in a cot and the other was in a capsule crying while the lady was making another bottle in the kitchen. And all I could think of was that at home Mateo gets sung to and read to and played with and fed all snuggled up against me. I asked the lady what they did during the day and she said they sometimes go outside and that she didn't really know what else to tell me! I walked out and nearly went into a hyperventilation panic attack afterwards!!!! OK, a little dramatic I know! :D Anyway, went to another one and was much, much lovelier - nice girls, lovely play area, bubbies all happy and playing and not confined to closed spaces and big sandpit outside that they get to play in all throughout the day. So feel better, but still a little scared - any words of advice from Mums that have done this?
Sorry for the massive saga!!!!
Star i was thinking the same thing, because it's always around the same time, can't wait for it to pop through.
Sorry no help with the daycare & thank-you :)
Rebecca i do what Star said & just melt some real cheese over M's food, she loves it.
I don't see why it wouldn't be fine to use the packet stuff tho, esp if your adding water & not milk.
Trish if i crack & find out the gender i'll blame you for putting too much pressure on me :p
M took 3 steps by herself this evening, then fell on her butt so now she's back to crawling lol
Scary to think she'll just start walking soon, She's growing up too quickly!!!
I'm back! Actually nearly didn't make it home. Got to airport after they'd closed the flight. Luckily they'd re-opened it for me. I had had enough of Townsville and wanted to be back with my boys (sorry Rebecca - IK you love the place). DH did a great job keeping everything ticking along. He's clocked off now so I will be doing the night shift. I figure I owe him.
Oh, and it was so good to see L's face when he saw me. He was so happy and excited and recognised me. I missed him so much and I swear he's grown.
Terri- I found that I needed to trust my instincts when it came to choosing daycare. Eventho L's daycare centre needs a paint job the staff and Director are really great and everytime I spoke with them when I was looking I always got good feelings. Have you looked into family daycare? There are a number of providers out your way. L has certainly developed heaps since he's been in daycare and has done things like painting and craft since he has been going: things I wouldn't have thought of doing with him.
Mo - it seems like you have been pg forever already and you're not even out of the first tri.
Rebecca - Great memory. We were up there at new years. I used to live there and hadn't been back for 20 years and then twice in less than a year.
I think Heinz do a white sauce for babies. I'll hunt down some recipes for you and PM them. I think you might be able to freeze them and then just defrost or put them into the m'wave. Honestly I think it comes down to being organised, knowing at breakfast what you're going to give her at dinner. Thats what works for me, both for L's meals and ours.
Are you feeling any better?
Trish - K is certainly making up for his slow start.
Amber/Ange - see you on Sunday.
Milk - I was reading somewhere (here?) that its okay to cook with milk as heat changes it as is not the same as cold milk.
Daycare report that L was waving today! He does these involuntary waves so will need to test if he can do them on purpose.
So quiet in here!
Trish - sorry to hear you are all sick. But it's good to hear K is on the move. I swear Max is going to sit on his ar$e for ever! Took him to physio today and he cried and cried and cried! I don't know what to do short of forcing him along the floor. The poor thing must be soooooooo frustrated! Makes me want to cry! (we can both do it together!)
Mo - Go on....find out....I dare you! I'll put the pressure on!!! :)
Bec - You can get Heinz white sauce in the baby section (I haven't used it) so maybe add some real cheese to that? I give Max anything pretty much so I'm probably not the best one to ask. Yesterday he had cupcakes with green icing! Hope things get better your way.
Star - That first DC sounded awful! Obviously not enough adults in the room for kids (ratio). I have not done this personally with Max (nor do I want to!) but I WAS going to be a Child Care worker so did some study. CCW are supposed to observe children and plan / programme days with activities to suit development etc. (well that is a qualified CCW) I guess the best thing to do is ask if they do activities in the babies room and what kind (water play, sand play etc.) You will be happier to leave M in a place that has enough adult:child ratio, that way he can get a bit more attention (there is a minimum anyway probably). I know for sure when I did CC that I was a nut for the kids so spent a lot of time playing / observing them. It was FUN...and look at me now...my kid can't even crawl! If you go into a place and you see the kids happy and content, then it's probably not a bad place to leave them.
Other news....Max had a white 'spot' on his gum where his top tooth is coming down. Has anyone seen these before? It wasn't the tooth (wish it was though!). Now it looks like it's popped....?
Hi to everyone else watching :)
hello,
Trish- ouch poor Kieran. they do get many bumps and bruises at this age dont they! I had 2 gf come over yesterday with a 14month old and 3 month old. The 14m old took a liking to biting Tyrons head and bit him 3-4 times on his forhead....... his mum felt pretty bad, he's still a baby himself but everytime Tyron came near him he'd open his mouth and try and sink his teeth into his head! He has these 3 strange bitemarks which lead into like a scracth mark when he has tried to clamp down poor bub. He's a toughy though Tyron, i seriously dont remember Nixon getting so many bumps etc at such an early age (prob because he wasnt as mobile as Mr Ty)
He now thinks he can stand up in the bath, crawl in the bath, lay on his tummy in the bath etc!
Nison woke at 6.30am thismorning which is an hr early for him and he didnt sleep ALL DAY. he usually has between 1.5 and 3hrs sleep so no idea how he kept on.... he started falling asleep whilst eating dinner but slack mummy wasnt going to let him to go to sleep at 5.30pm. he got a second wind when dh came home.
I havent spoken to claire for a few weeks but she was moving house so no doubt very busy and trying to get everything organised. she may not even have her pc set back up as yet
Hi all,
I'll do a proper catch up soon, just wanted to let you all know that we have finally moved so been really busy and was without internet for a while. Still unpacking and sorting stuff out, but getting there slowly. Bella has adapted to the move really well, slept all night like usual. Hope everyone is well and I'll be back properly soon.
Regards,
Dianne
Hi ladies
I have been sick, so thats why I havent been around much, got a horrible tummy bug, cant keep much food down, although I am feeling a abit better today.
Amber - congratulations on being a finalist
Trish - hope your feeling better now, K will be moving around all over the place now! i agree about loving this age too, they are so cute. Tahlia has been making this noise with her lips, and I think it might be kisses, cause I am always blowing her kisses... so cute
Rebecca - hope things are getting better for you, feel free to vent whenever you need to!
Mo - way to go on M taking some steps, it sure is scary thinking that they will be walking soon
Hi to everyone else - DH has just taken T out so I can rest, so I guess I should be doing that rather than being on here!
Hi everyone - if anyone is there - been a bit quiet in here today!
Anyway - things here have been a bit crappy. Caitlyn has done nothing but sook all day and of course H wasn't home as per usual. So all day all I have had is her screaming and crying and tanty throwing. Don't know what I am doing wrong or not doing or whether she is teething or waht but am basically at the end of my tether!
Oh I was drying her after her bath tonight and I have noticed a very little hole just above her little bot bot hole! Am just a little concerned (spot the sarcasm!!) Am going to ring the Dr tomorrow and get her in to see them - was a bit of a shock - has anyone heard of anything liek this???
Scared *****less there is something wrong!! I dont know if poo comes outof it - will have to check that out I guess to let the Dr know! I hadnt noticed it before!
Anyway - had better go get dinner ready with Dh. Hope you all had a great day!
Thanks for the advice guys - am starting to feel better about it all now. I suppose it is a hard thing for any Mum to do!
Julia - are you still going to be a childcare worker?
Nerida - your daycare sounds lovely! I don't know whether this one does craft with them - will have to ask.
Nerida, Amber, Ange - had a lovely time in the park - thankyou! Was great to catch up and see all the bubbas together - they're all so gosh damn cute, could have munched them all up!! :-)
To everyone else, hope your weekend has been lovely.
Rebecca :hug:i dont know what it could be? I would be really worried too. go see the dr i am sure they will know! Hope it turns out ok!
Terri, Ange Nerida, was great fun today! Good meeting you IRL Ange! i agree Terri they wer all so cute! Cant wait to see some pics!
Kellie hope you feel better soon!
Dianne thats great Bella was ok with the move! Hope you get everything soretd quickly!
Nic woohoo Ty on getting mobile! Hope nixon sleeps better for you!
Mo woohoo Maddi on 3 big steps! It must be so exciting seeing her walk! Hows the pg going?
julia Myles had a white spot on some of the gum before a tooth came through? Did it come through or was he just teasing?
Hi Trish, Viv, Becky, willow....umm i cant remember anymore sorry?
Well not much happening here, Myles is still a bit snotty but i think he is getting more teeth so i will blame that:) Other than that we are good, Myles slept a bit better last night he didnt come into my bed till about midnight so i got a few good hours sleep!
Hope evryone has a good night x
Hey all!
We had a nice weekend, we are all feeling sick still though so we took it fairly easy. We went and saw the Art Deco exhibition which was really fascinating. K slept in his Ergo like a good boy, he looked up at me with one eye open at one stage, just to check I was still there LOL!
Speaking of sleep, K has been having 2 huge naps a day, yesterday he had a 2 hour morning nap, then a 2 1/2 hour afternoon nap, he then slept from 7:30pm to 7:30am with no wake ups :cheer:! If only he'd do that EVERY day! He seems to be extending his day naps though, I'm getting so much more done. I did a big kitchen clean up this morning while he napped, may as well make the most of it.
Amber - How's Myles' rash going? Hopefully it's clearing up.
Star - I hope you get Mateo into the daycare centre you were happy with. It's a huge thing, I don't think I'd cope very well! I hope it all goes smoothly :).
Rebecca - Poor Caitlyn! I hope she is OK, have you been to the Dr yet?
Kellie - You poor thing . There seems to be some gastro going around lately. I hope you're feeling better today.
Dianne - I'm glad the move went well. Have you moved much further away from where you were? Bella's a good girl sleeping all night still!
Nic - Poor Tyron! I hope those bite marks go away soon. I wouldn't be inviting that friend over again LOL! Thanks for letting us know about Claire, she sounds very busy.
Julia - K always cries at the chiro, even if he hasn't touched him yet! And he HATES it when I try and get him to get up on his knees. Max will work it out soon! K finally worked it out when he saw something he REALLY wanted, a balloon. Have you tried tempting Max to move with something like that? It sounds like you have probably tried everything! He'll probably just get up and walk one day LOL!
Saffi - Glad you're back from Townsville safe and sound. How cute that L is waving!
Mo - Wow @ Maddi for taking 3 steps! That's how it all starts you know ;).
Anyway, better run. K is trying to unplug my laptop...
Rebbeca- No idea either, Hope you get some answers today.
Amber feel ok, just really tired can't wait for this stage to pass.
Glad you QLD gals had a lovely time with Ange & Lu.
Julia-I agree with Trish he'll probably just walk one day lol. I read that some babies just don't crawl.
Kellie-Hope you feel better soon.
We were visiting one of M's great Aunties yesterday & she was showing off by taking a few steps by herself when she fell & cracked her cheekbone on the coffee table.
She only cried for 1min then was all smiles but she has this lovely bruise which takes up most of her cheek now. I dread to think how bruised she'll be by her first b'day.
Glad you QLD girls had fun at the meet up too.
Aww Mo is she ok! Poor bubba! when Myles had the fat lip i swear people thought i had given it to him, i kept having to start my convos with "he fell at the drs" lol! Hope you feel better soon too!
Trish he still has the rash but it is looking more like ezcema:( I think he may have soriasis(sp?) Dh has it and its heriditary so am thinking i might take him to a skin specialist! they are great sleeps K is having, can he come speak to Myles:)
Hope everyone is having a fabbo day! We just visited my friend woth the twins and they are so gorgeous! keeps my clukiness at bay;)
Amber she's fine thanks goodness.
I know what you mean about the looks, My MIL likes to tell everyone how Maddi swallowed the glass & you should see they looks people give me, As if i broke the bottle & forced feed it to her.
One of my nephew's suffers from psoriasis, i know it caused him some trouble when he was a baby/toddler but as he has gotten older it's gotten alot better.
Hope it clears up soon for Myles & you.
Hi everyone
Just a quick one, my internet was down yesterday so haven't had a chance to catch up yet (but I'm guessing there won't be much as it's been so quiet lately)
Max is MOVING more.....he is now able to go from tummy, upto his knees and onto his bum....YAY. I've been putting him on his tum more and coz he hates it, he gets himself out of it. He's also moving....backwards! I've been trying to help him with forward movement...short of moving his arms for him and holding his feet so he can get some forward momentum...but going backwards and doing what he's doing is fine for me...for now!
Will BBL hope you have a good day
Yay Max!!!!!! You will be keeping mummy on her toes very soon!:hooray:
Mo thats goos to know about the psoriasis!I have to take him to the drs again to find out more!
Having a bit of a downer at the moment, i just dont feel myself and feel like i am taking it our on the family, Myles included! I just want a fairy godmother to come and make my house pretty and my baby sleep! we can only dream!
BBL xxx
Yay Max!!!!! My sister's bub started crawling backwards first! She can now crawl forward, but she doesn't really want to LOL.
 Amber - I wish I lived near you so I could do some housework for you today! I hope Myles doesn't have psorosis (sp?), it's not nice.
Mo - Ouch @ poor Maddi! She is in the wars isn't she? The more K is moving the more bumps we are having. I dread the day when he can pull himself up :o.
Better go put a boy down for his nap. He's getting angry at the duplo bucket!
Thanks everyone for your thoughts and concerns. However being bum**** idaho where I live I cannot get in to see the Doc until Friday morning because it is not considered an emergency!! Grrrrr so I will have to wait and see what happens then.
However I took a REAL close look at it last night and it is a rather deep dimple. I thought it was an actual hole leading anywhere so I will just watch it and make sure it stays nice and clean and nothing gets into it. Have the ladies at daycare onto it too so with eveyrone watching things should be ok.
I can't remember who it was talking about daycare but I have to say that I visited my centre about 3 times at different times during the day. Each time the experience was different. I do know the ratio in the babies room (0-15 months) has to be 1 carer per 4 children. That is a legal requirement. I think it is hard to judge a centre with one visit. However after seeing what I have seen in the other rooms - Caitlyn will be pulled from daycare once she is transitioned!! The other carers, well they just dont seem to care!! They all pretty much look badly hungover on a monday and just dont seem to put in any effort. The lady who has Caitlyn now went to a conference last weekend and spent over $400 of her own money on toys for the babies room cause they always seem to miss out!!
Amber-Keep smiling if you can! I have one of those days every second day.....they seem to last 48 hours though!! I am hoping that a fairy godmother will come to your house and my house!! If I see her I promise to send her your way first. HUGS
Julia- Congrats to Max for moving!! Can he come and show Caitlyn a thing or two?? I bet you wil have your hands full now!
We were holding Caitlyn's hands last night and let her go....and she stood on her own for about 5 seconds!! Woohoo!!!
Had better go and look like I am doing some work! Wont' be able to check in constantly when I start work from home like I do now.....will be logged into a different computer network so it just wont happen!
Hope all you ladies are having a great day MWAH
Trish i know seems like every 2nd day she has a new bump, guess it just makes her stronger ;)
WTG Max on moving, guess we can't call you relaxxy Maxxy anymore!
Rebecca- Crummy you can't get in any sooner, hopefully it's just a dimple.
Good idea to have the Daycare look after it as-well.
Amber- Wished i lived closer as-well! It will get better
Oh...he's still Relaxy.....the moving is only when he wants so nothing to worry me....ATM he is in the other room with a biscuit while I'm typing this....bad parenting!
P.S We got a top tooth too....*please let this mean the end of sleeping in my bed and kicking DH into the spare room**
Hi all
Did this long post last night but the internet gods conspired against me and it got lost. Will try to remember what I wanted to say.
Rebecca - I was going to suggest that C had a dimple or fissure. Still worthwhile getting it checked out. Suppose need to keep an eye on it to ensure it's kept clean IYKWIM. You've got me thinking about the other rooms at daycare now. As L does really long days he is often looked after at the start or end of the day by staff from the other rooms. There are some that I like more than others.
Julia - its only a matter of time now with Relaxy Maxxy. He'll be zooming all over the place before you know it.
Amber - yeah, I want the cleaning fairy to visit here too. Been a bit out of sorts as well. Poor DH couldn't do things fast enough to help out last night. Came home late from work tonight to find heaps of things done around the house
Becky - how was your weekend away? We Brisbane girls must get together again soon. How's Chels and Liam?
Mo - the more they move the more they will injure themselves. Lets just hope there will be no broken bones in their futures.
Trish - laughed at the thought of K taking his anger out on the duplo bucket. Think that would be very cute.
How are the bub's expressing their unhappiness with things these days? L still cries or is whingy but more and more he is making very short sharp attention seeking noises. What's really interesting is the look he gets in his eyes. You can just tell he's not happy and is letting us know. Don't know if I've explained it well, you just have to see it to understand.
Anyway, got an early start in the morning so best go off and wash my hair.
Have a good evening.
hey all
thought i'd say something - i've been fairly lurktastic for a while..
so - on the bumps front, yeah, james will do a facey or other tumble every day or two. he's improving but will often hurt himself on things he's already mastered (like crawling too fast down the hall chasing dad). he is standing unaided more and more, and can only usually do it while he's holding something (like a cup or remote)
he jammed his fingers in the dresser drawer yesterday. i was sitting right there helping him open and close them and he seemed to be getting it, then he just pushed with one hand to close it, with his other hand in the gap, and kept pushing it until he made himself cry. i iced it for him and the line mark went away pretty quickly.
he's 10 months old today. :hooray:
what else...
he is in the grips of the tooth monster. we had FIVE poos yesterday, red bot, drool, and lots of whimpery cries and sheet rubbing over night. i can see the gum is swirly on the bottom #4 but no hard bit yet.
he has 1 or 2 doses of panadol overnight practically every night. do you think that's bad? he always cries out around 6 hours after his first dose, so i'm almost certain it's pain.
our sleep is dodged. he was awake for 40 minutes between 11.40 and 12.20 last night. sigh. almost caved and took him to my bed because i was so tired but managed to settle him. he would just lie in the cot and look at me.... and rub the sheet... and roll and grunt... sigh.
we're just happy he's not waking every 90 minutes at the moment.
he hasn't slept through since... something like january. at best he would wake at 2am, at worst... well... every 90 minutes.
enough whinging from me. he's still very beautiful, eating lots and having a good time in the day, so i no complain.
he has been drinking from his tommee tippee nuby. he manages to drink some by himself but also wears a lot because he can dislodge the silicone thingy from the top to make it leak.
i bought the stage 2 easiflow, which doesn't leak, but he finds it practically impossible to squeeze the little sucker (which is much harder than the nuby). all in good time i suppose.
breastfeeders: how many a day now?
aside from K and i think caitlyn, is anyone sleeping right through?
question for all:
how do you feel about the decision you made (or was made for you) as regards breastfeeding or formula feeding? if (when) you have another baby, will you do the same or different, and why?
has anyone tried egg yolk on the bub yet? james seems ok after 4 days but has a little patch of what looks like hives on his outer thigh... odd... doesn't seem to bother him but i can only put it down to egg yolk.
Hello!!
Just for the record I had a name change, I used to be Kottenkandie6987 and now I'm Wifey because I got all hitched and stuff back in June:dance:.
Elijah is chugging along beautifully, he's crawling and cruising furniture now, started crawling at about 8 and a half months, and only started really cruising in the last month or so. He's sleeping through again, we had a patch from 6 - 9 months where he was wanting overnight feeds again and went off solids completely.
He has 7 teeth, number 8 just disappeared below the gumline again. Bummer.
Anyway, enough about us.
I see there are some buns in the oven! Woohoo congrats!!!!:D
Better keep moving!
Sarah
Hey all, I decided to drag myself out of the wallowing misery that has been my life this week to come and say hi...so... "hi"...
In brief - siiiiiiick. Really sick. DH took 2 days off work but had to go back today so I'm on my own with the boy, DD is with MIL till this afternoon when I take the kids back to the GP AGAIN :wall:
This is seriously ridiculous. DS has had a green, horrid nose for 3 weeks straight. Might have had about a weeks break before that. Yesterday he started coughing again. DD had croup again last week. Etc, etc etc. I don't think we've had more than a week of health around here since June.
This is certainly the winter of my FREAKIN' DISCONTENT!!!
In other news...
Viv - woot! Good to see you back, have missed you. You make me laugh. Don't go away again. Please :(
Sleep - horrendous nights the last week or so. Before that the standard here is still the same: bed at around 6pm most nights, feed at around 10pm, another at 2am, then sleeps till 5 or 6am, then up for the day at 7.30am. No change in sight. Please keep in mind this boy has not slept through the night EVER since BIRTH. You are definitely not alone. I think there are a few other bubs sleeping through the night - Lu is now I think and a few others I can't think of right now!
Breastfeeds - still on about 5 feeds in 24 hours. Generally at 5/6am, 9.30am, 2.30am, 6pm, 10pm. Again, no change in sight, but this doesn't bother me at all. Feeding a bit more often the last few days cause supply has dropped off, probably because i"m sick.
Would I do the same again? Absolutely, without a doubt. Breastfeeding has been a breeze this time around. I went through hell with DD compared to this. It was still worth it and I didn't hesitate for a second to do it again this time around. I am passionate about it and proud that I have done this for my children knowing the lifelong benefits it has for them.
**Please no one take offence to my little speil*** That's just the way I feel about it. I have no opinion on the way any other mother chooses to feed her baby.
Bumps - yep, had a few here too. A split lip too from face planting the floor, bit overzealous on the crawling!
Trish - WTG on the sleeps. To think at one point our boys were very similar in the sleep stakes...sheesh, did I luck out! LOL.
Mo - I think you're having another pink one!
Julia - WTG on the Not So Relaxy Maxy! He was bound to move sooner or later! LOL. Hope you're getting more sleep these days.
Saffi - L has been really clingy and unhappy generally the last week or so. Not sure if the dreaded sep anxiety has kicked in or if it's because he's not well :dunno: Generally he just cries to let me know he's not happy LOL!
Amber - dude... if you catch that fairy godmother send her to our place next PAAAHLEASE!
Kellie - hope you're feeling better babe. It's the absolute pits being sick with little one/s to look after.
Closing note...seeing DH try to be 'me' the last two days looking after the kids has shown me one thing: this is a bl**dy hard job, but man, I do it well!! :P
