Viv nice to have you back & happy 10 months to JJ.
I didn't really have a choice to FF after i got so sick, but hoping i stay healthier this time so i can try to BF for longer. If not M turned out fine on Formula, but would be so much cheaper & easier to BF.
M slept 10pm to 7am yesterday, but the last week has been up at 2-3am to 5-5-30am.
I think Amber gives Myles egg yolk.

Willow-Hope you all feel better soon, I'm so over this winter too, bring on Spring!
Phil would love another Daughter, he has this idea that Girls are easier to raise lol.
2 teenage girls yeah real easy, Men where do they get these ideas.

Sarah-nice to hear from you again.

Saffi-M gets really clingy & sooky when upset, If you take something off her then she shakes with anger, tries to hit you & cries.

Hey y'all. Had a nice morning with visitors. One of Joel's kinder friends came over with his mum and little brother. It was nice getting to know another local family. I've now got a chook in the slow cooker so I'm looking forward to a yummy roast dinner tonight, mmm....

K is such a great eater, he pretty much eats what we do at night. So much easier than making something separate for him! This morning I was giving him some rice cereal with apple (he reacts too badly to porridge so we still have rice cereal some days) and he squawked and pushed it out of my hands because he wanted to eat my toast LOL. Such a strong willed little man, I think I'll have my work cut out with him!

Willow - :hug: You poor things! This winter has been horrible for us too, but you guys definitely sound worse than us! Here's to a healthy Spring!!

Mo - Maddi and K sound very similar in the anger stakes LOL! K is really good at letting me know if he wants something. I took my purse from him the other day to pay for something and he threw a massive tanty!

Sarah - Welcome back! Sounds like Elijah is doing well. Wow, he has lots of teeth!

Viv - Happy 10 months to James! It's good to see you back in here, I've been wondering where you are. Re: b'feeding, I am extremely happy that we are still b'feeding strong! I only got to 6 months with Joel and we really limped along to get that far. If we had another bub I would definitely give b'feeding my best shot. K has been such a great feeder, he is now on around 4 feeds a day, but his last one (just before bed) barely counts. He's not that interested in it and will give a curtesy suck or two, but then just stop. I'm scared he'll wean himself soon!

Saffi - K has always been good at expressing his unhappiness LOL! Although he is now an all-round happy boy, he also has quite a temper on him and can squawk, squeal and lash out if he isn't happy. If he is tired or upset he usually gives a whingey cry.

Julia - Well done to Max for popping a top tooth!

Rebecca - Do you have many DC centres to choose from where you are? How annoying that the other carers aren't as good.

Saffi - Teo claps hands or performs a 'trick' when he wants attention or if he's cranky and wants attention he'll do the high-pitched noise that L does. He's also started throwing a few whammies when things don't go his way - I'm a terrible mother and laugh at him cause I think they're hilarious!

VIv - we are on 3-4 feeds a day now. He loves the morning feed and night feed and snuggles in and stares intently at me but day feeds he is starting to wean himself off - barelyu interested, way too busy, has a suck then whips his head around to see what is going on in the world. Is much happier feeding himself from bottle/sipper cup with either expressed milk or formula (depending on the stock-up in the freezer!) Happy 10 months to J.

Trish - sounds like a lovely day! Yummy roast. :-)

Willow - hope you are all well again soon - sounds like a rough trot.

Rebecca - Any news on C's dimple?

The daycare hunt has continued for me today - some nice ones - none that I 'LOVE'. I don't know if I'm going to love any? Priced Nannies - ridiculous! may as well stay at home. :-(

Well, no joy at the drs...didn't give me a magic pill :(

Said it's probably a mild dose of croup (dd had it last week) but unless he's having any respiratory problems then he doesn't need to take anything. Heard the old 'he's at the end of the chain for illness now with his sister at preschool' spiel again. I know it's true but it's sooooo frustrating :wall:

Putting DD in preschool was the best thing I could have done for her but I swear sometimes it's the worst I could have done for the little man. I only hope the warmer weather gives us a break. Never thought I'd have kids who were sick like this all the time :wall:

Thanks for all your hugs! Sometimes it just gets so overwhelming, and tiring you just want to give up hey!We had a nice day at the park yesterday and the sunshine made me feel better! Then off to yoga today and it was like i left the old Amber in the car!

Viv happy 10 months JJ! RE BF Myles snacks during the day so couldnt tell you how many exactly, but has one big one before bed and then whenever he wakes again! I am very pro BF so i would hope the next baby is as good as feeder as M and we have a great feeding relationship! But if I had to ff i would so no judgement on anyone who does! M has been having scrambled egg with all the egg for a couple of months and no allergies here, but all kids are different hey! Hope JJ gets the tooth soon!

In other news! i got Myles on the toilet today to do a poo! wootwoot! No messy nappy change! clean as a whistle after! We are thinking of getting him a potty just to see how he goes! He had the biggest smile on his face when he heard the splash:cryinglaugh: (sorry if your eating TMI) I think i was more excited than him! lol!

Feeling a lot better here, which is good. No 2 tooth is now on its way for Tahlia, so she is a little grumpy, but not too bad.

Julia - woo hoo for Max! You'll be chasing him everywhere soon enough

Amber - hugs - hope your feeling better soon

Saffi - Tahlia just grizzles when she is unhappy, and tries to climb my leg

Viv - Not really sure how many feeds Tahlia still has, cause like Myles she is a snacker. She sleeps from about 8.30pm/9pm - 7.30am/8am some nights, but some nights will wake around 1am, and then other nights she doesnt. Although lately she seems to wake a few times between the time she goes to bed and about 11pm. She is different every night! I would definitely do things the same way again and BF for as long as possible (IF there is another :-)

Willow - sorry to hear about all the sickness, hope you guys are all better soon!

Trish - I've yet to try a slow cooker roast - it sounds yummo!

Closing note...seeing DH try to be 'me' the last two days looking after the kids has shown me one thing: this is a bl**dy hard job, but man, I do it well!! :P

Kel yep i carry Myles a fair bit on the back! Its quite tricky getting them on by yourself especially when you have a wriggler! but its great cause they can look out more! and its not as heavy i dont think! I think i have a pic on FB with him in it like that???

Viv - howdy stranger! We are up mostly up once a night with L at around 5am-ish. Some nights are better than others. Feeding - I'd really try to give BF more of a go next time, but like Trish for us it was like flogging a dead horse. When you need meds just to produce milk I think the decision to FF is pretty much made for you. I think next time I would be more confident in doing it and of course the baby may take better to it than L did. In the end L is healthy and a great size so I don't regret FF for a moment.
Willow - sorry to hear that you've all been so ill. I am at the end of L's childcare sickness chain so totally understand how it goes. When do you start back at work? Being a mum is B*&^$y hard work!
Kellie - love the new photo of T.
Amber - I would never have thought that L could use the toilet at his age. I will have to give that some thought. I was told that daycare kids tend to be TT earlier as they watch the other kids do it.
Terri- I thought you'd got in somewhere??? I reckon you should try family daycare.
Trish /Mo - I am really amazed at how these little ones learn to express themselves. I have never shown anger/frustration in front of L like what he shows (so that he isn't just copying me IYKWIM). L is very willfull as well. He will let us know in no uncertain terms if he doesn't like something.
Sarah - Congratulations on your marriage. Wifey! On my wedding night DH called me that. Wasn't impressed. LOL
:hello: - Rebecca and Julia and anyone else I've missed.

Day off tomorrow. Had a very busy 3 days at worksolooking forward to doing somenice things with Ltomorrow.

For the few ladies that were interested:

My scan yesterday was horrid....they sonographer was a b**ch and rude. Wasnt showing the heart beat...i said yes...so 3 seconds and was gone..146 BPM.....then she said wow baby is long....then in next breathe told me baby is very small???

Then they doen a few things....measured head...then tell me that they cant see the brain....but could see a fluid cavity.....right ok!

Then they cant see the lips or nose....more worry.

As for gender 'nope cant see'...so i said can u try harder....'nope cant see'.....come back in 2 weeks.

I walk out in tears and book in for scan 2nd Sept..2 whole long waiting weeks.

Get home..phone goes off....

Around 2pm i see all the BB posts flooding in..and i read every single one with tears streaming down my face.

Anyhow Craig rang around u/s places..no luck getting in without a referral. Except one place....Early Image in Vic.....so we emailed them.

Today while i was at the dr..getting a new referral....the people call...i walk in...ask Craig had they called..(was waiting on an appt time and day)....and he said no...check email if they have replied...on my desk was a letter from the girls....'Our Mummy' and a note Craig had written from then explaing they made me a scan for tonight at 645!!!

OMG i was estatic.....

Get there and they do the scan...check millions of times...then the big news i was waiting for..and can now happily share with all:

Saffi- Yeah I am thinking its some sort of dimple or something. I don?t think its anything serious however the best piece of advice I have evern been given is ? don?t google medical things!! Scary scary scary!!!
Unhappines-C grunts at me. And yells. Freaks me out but then when I look at her ? she has a grin on her face. Cheeky little thing! But I know what you mean about ?that look? in the eye ? its priceless!
NT- YAY on 10 months (sorry I am a day late ? I wasn?t originally!) and ouch on the little fingers! I am so sorry about the lack of sleep and I hope it gets better soon. Maybe just the teeth thing??
Nuby cup ? what a godsend!! I couldn?t get C to drink water until I bought her one of those cups! She too dislodges the silicon thingy but at least now she is drinking water.
B/F or F/F ? I so wish I had been able to continue to breast feed and I really do hope that next time round that I will be more successful. I think I might have more of a chance because I doubt there will be as much stress next time around. However in saying that?by the time we go for number 2 we should be in a position where I can take more time off. Because I cannot fathom being in my position right now (ie working pretty much full time with DH barely home to help out) and still B/Feeding. I just cant see how I would have enough time!
Egg yolk- We give C egg yolk ? we tried her on a little bit and she munched it down ina big hurry. We now grate it over her veges or make her like an almost mini potato salad for dinner.
Wifey-Welcome back!! Wow all those teeth!!
Willow-I hope things begin to pick up soon!! Being sick with a sick little one is hard!!
Trish- Choice?? Out here ? I wish!! Unfortunately there is only 1 daycare centre out here. No FDC either?.if I owned a house out here it is something that I would seriously consider. I use my slow cooker often but I find it doesn?t make the chook skin crispy enough for me ? I like my crispy skin. However roast lamb!! YUM YUM YUM
Star- The day care thing would be a nightmare! And it probably isn?t made any easier by people telling you horror stories! Sorry ? I hope you find one soon. Are you visiting at different times during the day?
Amber- Good to see things are looking a little tiny bit brighter today! And WOW on getting Myles on the loo!!! My mum was asking me the other day if I was going to start putting C on the loo when she started to look like she was going (red face etc etc). I didn?t think anything of it but I guess now that they are 10 months it?s a good time to start good habits!
Kim-Congrats on another little baby girl!!! Glad things are ok and what a sweetheart your DH is to organise such a nice surprise!
Righto so I think I covered it all! Things are going great guns. Tooth number 3 is on its way out which explains the 2am wake up call this morning!

Just wanted to apologise for the whingefest yesterday...was just so frustrated. Hate seeing the little man sick and me being so sick too only made it worse.

Got some good news to cheer me up a bit yesterday arvo - we got another $1,500 back in FTB because we underestimated DHs income for the year. So that's over $7k we got back this year - woot!!

Kim - congrats on the (eventual) good scan. Glad to hear you're happy to be having another girl, I remember you saying you were hoping for a boy this time. But after an awful scan like that (had one similar myself with DD - was a mess afterwards) it certainly puts things into perspective and makes you realise all you really want is a healthy baby.

Kimbaz - congrats on another pinky for your place! geez, sometimes i wonder about the 'professionals' part of 'health professionals'.

Stress + Mama = Bad ... gah. So anyway, I hope it's all ticking along nicely in there.

Nerida and Rebecca - Yes, did get accepted into one but still wanted to look at more just to compare and have been visiting at different times through the day. Have found another one I feel comfortable with - they are all Grandmas and were the first to actually take an interest in M rather than just talk to me. Want to look at 2 more tomorrow and then will make final decision. Feeling bit better about it all but.

Truly can't remember what anyone else said even though did read through - Sorry!!! My brain is always fried after a day of work!

all this sleep BS has buggar all to do with the bottom #4 tooth and everything to do with these enormous horse teeth which are hiding behind the front surface of top gum looking like a couple of big M&Ms under the skin.

those moving must kill - no wonder the kid is crying. poor little darlin'...

Tay has her 5th tooth :dance: Have been keeping our eyes on the top two that she is cutting and when she was laughing I spotted one down that bottom that has come through. Surprise Mum. She has also gone from rocking on all fours, to crawling on her tummy and pushing her legs. But then she will crawl on all fours backwards ... talk about doing things the back to front way. Mia commando crawled first and then crawled properly! I guess it just goes to show that they are all different!

Congrats Kim on another baby girl ... just think how much love you will get from 3 girls as they grow up!

Hope anyone else that is in Melbourne isnt freezing as much as me! BRRRRRRRR

Following on - Viv I would do the same again re the breastfeeding. I know at one point I was ready to chuck it all in, but am glad I stuck it out. Having said that when does anyone who still is BFing plan to stop? I think I wanna start weaning him off by the time we go to the UK in November...or maybe after....dunno

Sorry I can't remember who asked - Egg Yolk...I give Max whole egg...the other morning he had scrambled egg with bacon...same as us for breakfast. He has anything/everything!

Amber - how funny Myles on the loo. My cousin sent me a pic the other day of her lil man on the potty - I had to ask her if she was doing it for real coz I thought it would be a bit early for it......but she said she just sits him on it to get him used to it and if he happens to do anything in there, they get all excited. I hadn't even thought about it! Although I should....M's number 2's are like peanut butter....TMI....gross.

Max has been a bit of a crack up the last couple of days...now he has his new 'i can get off my tummy move' he's not been whinging as much....I have to be in his sight though. His day sleeps have been absolute rubbish....30 mins at the most these last few days, which is a big difference from last week. I'm looking forward to some consistency..wonder if/when that will ever happen!

I had to drop the cot down today too coz the kid's been trying to pull himself up....he doesn't do it very well, but he's trying. He wants to be on his feet ALL the time! Oh and we got 2nd top tooth today too....Like you say Viv...the M&M....they are massive!

Can't remember who asked - but Yes...I have considered going back to childcare....not sure how/when but I really did love it. For the time being I think I'll just focus my love of children on my own son!

Sorry everyone I am hopeless at remembering everything everyone writes but hope everyone is getting better / sleeping better / teething easily etc. etc.

Hey all, not much exciting happening in my world! We're slowly getting over our colds. K has been pretty grumpy the last two days, not sure if it's teeth or not.

Viv - K hasn't popped a top one yet and I can't remember how long it took with Joel, sorry I'm no help!

Julia - That's great Max is heaps happier now he is moving. K is the same, it's so much nicer! He's also letting me leave a room now! I think he's so distracted with stuff he really doesn't care any more. K is also trying to pull himself up, but he only pulls his top half up LOL. He makes this cute cackle sound when he's doing it, he thinks he's so clever!

Karen - Yay for tooth #5! And well done to Taygan for moving around :D.

Star - I hope you find a DC place you are happy with really soon!

Mo - How did Maddi sleep last night? Hopefully there was no 3am wake up! Is she in her own cot now? How cold has it been in Melbourne??? I sooo can't wait for some warmer weather!

Kellie - It's so annoying how they always have long naps when you need to go out! K does it to me all the time :rolleyes:. I HATE having to wake him up. It is so tempting to leave him in bed while I go pick up Joel from kinder LOL (the kinder is on our street). I would NEVER do it, but I have to admit the idea has gone through my head!

Willow - Yay for the great tax return! DH is getting a huge one this year, but as usual it goes straight on the mortgage, how boring!!! I want to go on a spending spree too! We will also get extra FTB too, woohoo!

Rebecca - What a pain there are no other day care centres to choose from! We use a Nuby cup too, K loves it. It does make him snuffle as he drinks though LOL!

Viv I reckon a couple of weeks (that was the big bulge). Then for the first M got this lil blister thing, and the second it went all gross and see through then the skin was opened up. Between the first and second it was only a few days inbetween for us....thank goodness! OH and I forgot to say happy 10 months to JJ for the other day!

Trish - even though max still isn't moving forward it's amazing the difference in him. I too can leave the room and he's less whingy pants...yay!

Kid slept well overnight....one wake up and soaked through so had to change all his clothes, but other than that it was 7pm till 6:46am....so nice to have the bed to myself!

Trish no it was a 1am til 3am wake-up *sigh*. Wouldn't be so bad if i wasn't so exhausted already.

Viv it took M about 2 weeks for them both to pop through or was it 3 weeks.

Karen - Yay for tooth #5.

Afternoon all!!
Well happy happy happy. We went and saw the Dr today - and the little dimple thingy is nothing to worry about. Its something I have to keep an eye on when she is a little older but for now just make sure it doesnt get bigger or full of gunk. When she is older it may become what he called a pilondial (?sp) cyst and then she may have to have it removed. Basically, when the skin grows/forms in utero where her little dimple is, is the last place that it grows/seals off. And it is basically that it didnt finish its job. There is no opening or wound or anything like that.
Suffice to say I am WAAAAY relieved cause I was seriuosly freaking out (bl00dy google!). However, keeping an eye on it when she is older will become her responsibility. Somehow I cannot see my 12 year old daughter bending over for me to check out her butt crack!!!
Anyway - just had to share my relief. Sorry no personals - am sure I will do another massive post in a day or two and catch up!

james has smallish dimples there too - but then.. TMI so does his dad!

Viv - I concur, took about 2-3 weeks for those top suckers to come through. We still cannot get over the size of them. They are quite literally twice the size of his sisters teeth :o

Rebecca - glad to hear the dimple turned out OK.

Question - how much awake time can your bub handle these days? Have noticed on occaision that L can do 4 hours pretty easily these days. He's ready for a sleep by the end, but isn't exactly beside himself. Hard to believe that in a few months they'll proably start doing one big sleep a day. Bring it on I say!

Willow - Mateo does one big lunch-time sleep of 2-3 hours so can stay up between 4-6 hours at a time now.

Mo - I hope you get some rest soon so the little teeny bubba can grow big and strong!

Rebecca - so glad all is well with C's little bot bot.

Viv - Same - 2 to 3 weeks and top ones caused a lot of grief for him. Even got vomiting and diorreah for three days with them. To answer previous question - would BF again for sure. Had no problems and love it still. How about you? How are you feeling about it these days?

Having a great time with Teo at the moment - his top teeth have finally cut and is back to sleeping through at night and his chirpy self in the day. Weather is so warm and spending lots of time outside. Lovely! :-)
