Babies Born October 2007 #31

I think K was the last Octobub to be born, he was born at 9:41pm on the 31st - we just snuck into the Octo group! It's Joel's 4th birthday on Thursday, my boys are growing up *sniff*.

Ooh and don't forget it's Logan's (Willow's DS) b'day on Saturday!

K has now learned what a duck says (kind of)! I ask him what a duck says and he says "guck, guck" hee hee! He's so clever, I ask him in sequence what a dog says, what a lion says, what a horse says and what a duck says and he answers each one correctly! This morning he was putting his head on the floor and fake snoring (so funny!) and he makes fake kissing noises when I do. He seems to be picking up everything so quickly atm, it's lots of fun! He's understanding much more than Joel did at the same age.

Becky - Joel started taking steps at 13 months and he started walking fully a week before he turned 14 months. It was Christmas day when he finally started walking fully, I think he was trying to show off to the family LOL! How old was Liam when he walked? Is your sister OK? Why was she in hospital?

Trish - Liam was 14 and a half months before he walked so he was a bitof a late starter! Chels took 3 steps today though so I think she is VERY close! Oh and my sis was in hospital becasue she had a major knee reconstruction 6 weeks ago but they did something wrong and it stuffed up so she had to go back to have it fixed. Not nice and it is a big long recovery process now but she'll get there...

Well my friend had her baby. Dont know all the details but I think she had a long, hard labour and Bianca Jane was born at lunchtime today. Awwww..... makes me clucky.....

Just wanted to say thankyou for all of your birthday wishes for Mateo - we had a lovely day and like everyone else here have been feeling very sentimental and can't believe it was a year ago that I saw my gorgeous boy for the first time!

What a marvellous journey motherhood has been so far! Thankyou all for sharing it with me.

Hi all

Thanks everyone for the birthday wishes. We had a great day on Monday with our little boy. We went to the playcentre and had fun in the ball pit and watching the bigger kids running around. He is still a little too young to really enjoy it but I know in years to come it will become a favourite place

At home today as I am feeling sick. Sore throat, headache and yucky tummy. DH also has it and he was at home yesterday. So far L seems to be ok. He has been packed off to daycare so I have the day at home to myself. Of course maximum couch time is required to fight off whatever I have.

Going to upload some photos onto FB later on today of L if anyone wants to take a look.

Becky - sounds like Chella is really close to taking the first steps for real. L was standing by himself not supported by anything or anyone. Only does it occassionally and only for the briefest of time, but standing all the same.
Trish - I am so envious of K's talking. I suppose it is the second child effect. I can imagine the chatter is constant from J so K has extra opportunity to learn and practice.
Julia - how's Max going? Getting ready for your trip? I am so jealous. Have a great time if we don't cross paths before you leave.

Trish - glad the boys had a good birthday party. We've got Tahlia's on this Saturday, I'm sure she will get very spoilt too! I've got my fingers crossed for good weather cause we have hired a jumping castle (mainly to keep the older kids amused) and it doesnt come if its rainy.

Glad to hear all the bubs have had good birthdays. I can't believe my baby will be 1 in 2 sleeps!

Mo - have you had your next ultrasound yet?

We had our 12month MCHN check yesterday, and Tahlia only weights 9.585kgs and is 73cm, where she was 9.2kgs at 8 months. The nurse was a little concerned so she made another appointment for us in 3 months time. She's gone from being in the 90th percentile for weight to the 50th. I told her how Tahlia is quite fussy with food and doesnt really eat much, so she gave me some suggestions. I'm not too concerned, cause she still has rolls on her arms and thighs, a big tummy and rolly ankles!

Hi everyone

We are going well here again. Max is over his illness, although is now coughing, but is happy and eating again which I am most happy about! Took him to the CHN and he weighs 11.4kg and is 76cm....I was certain he would have cracked the 12kg mark but he actually lost a bit of weight coz of not being well! Yay for my back!

Trish Max & K are so similar...both slow in the moving department but good on the talking front. Although M doesn't say the words as such, the sounds he makes resemble the word so well. He barks like a dog, and says moo....he also says 'poo' and is starting to say 'up'. He also says 'star' and his own version of 'Charlie'....'char'! He also still goes nuts on the mumma, dadda...and is doing a lot of nnnananana sounds. We call his dummy 'num num' (don't know how that happened) and he says that too! What clever monkeys they are!! Glad the party for the boys went well...so...did you plan for their birthdays to be so close together!!!?

Kellie I wouldn't worry about T's weight at all....it is perfectly fine to be on the 50th percentile surely! She's probably burning more energy at the moment too! How cute are all their rolls....Max is such a podge! I wont be on here on Saturday so hope the party and birthday goes well.

I am still getting everything ready for the big trip so am a bit distracted ATM!! Charlie is going to be in a calendar too so I have to go now and brush him for that! I have a pin-up-dog...sweet! We even get paid for it!

Don't stress over T's weight, M was in the 8kg range for months when she was crawling.

Julia glad Max is getting better.

Trish K is doing well so with his talking, M's a chatterbox but most of it is gibberish only she can understand lol

Mum's MRI came back ok, there was something about raised protein levels.
Anyways the Dr's now want to do a lumbar puncture, don't see that going down well with her but good luck to them.
So 9 days later we still know nothing, she's still just as confused & i'm starting to get annoyed with all the waiting & no answers!

Thank you for the birthday wishes ladies! So far we have had such a great day! I can't believe it has been a year since I went into labour! This time last year I was having contrations whilst I was doing some shopping! I didnt want to stop moving incase the contrations stopped too! hahaha

Gaaah! I wrote a massive long post and was about to post it when the phone rang. As I jumped up to answer it the cord came out of the back of my laptop (I've taken the battery out) and lost everything :angry:!

I can't believe you are 4 already! It feels like yesterday that you were K's age :D

Joel is having a fun day, he got a toy bow and arrow set this morning and has had a great time learning how to use it. He has also been visited by both nanna's this morning so he has been very spoilt! I am so spun out that he is actually 4! It makes me feel so old even though I feel like such a big kid still! I'm always outside riding scooters and skateboards with Joel, I must look ridiculous! I'm sure there will be a day when Joel will ask me to stop because I am embarressing him LOL!

Tiff - Enjoy this special day with your special little girl!

Julia - Our boys have always been similar haven't they? I'm so glad Max is feeling better - just in time for your big trip! Oh & congrats on Charlie becoming a pin-up dog!

Amber - Yay for Myles walking on his knees!! My boy's birthdays were a very close call LOL! I still remember this time last year being heavily pg on Joel's b'day and asking K to stay in for one more day. Luckily he did! Nothing special happens in Jan/Feb for us, it was just chance LOL! We would have had a September bub, but I had a m/c. I fell pg with K the next cycle :D.

Mo - How frustrating that you still don't know what's going on with your mum :hug:. I hope they find something soon. A lumbar puncture sounds terrible.

Kim - Gorgeous pics! I love the ladybug cake, it looked sooo cool! I'm glad Jasmine had a great b'day!

Kellie - The weather is meant to be fine on Saturday so I'm sure it will be perfect for Tahlia's party! K only weighs 9.55kg which surprised me because he eats so much and is so chubby. I'm sure K & T will catch up one day!
