Merry christmas everyone! we had lunch at mum and dads today, kids got spoilt already. def going to have to pack some old toys away after this years! got their stuff ready, when we go to bed will be putting it out, didnt want to get busted incase nixon woke up and walked out!
i hope everyone has a lovely day tomorrow, Kim no going into labour lol!
well even though I said it yesterday, I'll say it again:
MERRY CHRISTMAS!
Hope everyone is having a great day
After Tahlia sleeping in till 9am (woo Hoo!) we opened up all the pressies and then DH, Tahlia and I headed to the park for a seafood lunch, which we just got home from. She is now asleep so as soon as she wakes up we are off to my mums for dinner!
Had a very busy day preparing the house and all the food. We had a good lunch tho so it was well worth it.
L has gone to his grandparents for the night so it is just DH, the dogs and me at home. Off to the after Xmas sales tomorrow which is another Xmas tradition for me.
Rest up Kim, not long now. Since you haven't delivered the first Xmas baby, maybe you could aim for the first New Years baby.
New year baby is the next aim though...well he can come from midnight onwards....would be nice to have him arrive when my olds are here. They come 29th and leave 2nd Jan. Been geting pains all day though....could be something..but probably not cosi want him here so much
We had a good Xmaz day (as much as you can when its not a big deal in our house). Went to friends, the girls were spoilt rotten as per usual. We just had our xmaz dinner of ....MACCAS...LOL
So what did all the kids get for Christmas?
Maddi got a new car seat, Elmo toys, indoor trampoline(which she loves), rocking horse, books, dvd's, clothes, doona set for her big girl bed, more toys, floaties for the pool, shoes & money.
I think that's all. Well at least Cookie wont need toys, i think i have enough to start my own shop up with.
Hope everyone had a lovely day & all the kiddies were well behaved!
Hope you all had a great Christmas. We had a good one. Lunch was at our place and Max had a 2 hour nap in the afternoon...woo hoo! He totally cleaned up when it comes to presents....
He ended up with (count them!) 12 different books...., money, floaties, clothes, a cricket set, bike (which I will take to my mums house) tonka truck with sand toys (he loved this and was eating his lunch with the shovel), wiggles DVD's, crayola stuff...such a spoilt little man. I'm going to have to put some of the books away for his next birthday!
I am lucky too...I got a massage thingy which you stick on a chair and it gives you a full back and shoulder massage. I have it on my computer chair which is now my excuse for surfing the net so often! I also got a new camera, cook books, clothes. Lucky me!
Next it's new year! NYD is my mums birthday so NYE we are just spending a quiet one here in the spa with some champas and then having lunch the next day for my mums 60th....and then the year starts again! arrrgh!
Take care everyone and can't wait to hear any of your Christmas stories! (I am bored...clearly!)
Hey everyone! Just popping in quickly to wish you all a happy new year! We are heading off tomorrow for two weeks away. I'll "see" you all when I get back
Kaz- so sorry to hear your news. Sending you lots of hugs.
Well like all the other bubs Ethan was so spoiled on Christmas day. We gave him his sandpit and toys to go in it as well as a few little things in his santa stocking. When we got to Mum's though he had so many presents. He got sick of opening presents so we put some away for Boxing Day. Because we are moving in a few weeks and the house is bedlam anyway, we left most of the pressie's at Mum's till we move. It was good that Ethan got lots of presents. He is getting really bored and I haven't been able to stimulate him lately as I have been so busy being sick and packing. Feeling like a bad Mum at the moment. When we move I have lots of plans for great things we can do together so hopefully he will be a bit more settled.
Question - is anyone else finding that their toddler is getting frustrated a lot? Ethan is alway frustrated. Not sure if it's boredom or what. Not sure how to help him.
Anyway I'm gonna have a nap before Ethan wakes up.
Have a great new years.
Even tho it was a week ago Christmas seems like such a long time ago. L didn't do too badly with his haul of goodies, choosing quality over quantity. We are seriously at capacity here as it is and anymore toys would just be added to the ever increasing pile.
Julia - a massager WTG. I did my upper back yesterday and one of those would have been really handy. Mo - does Maddi like her Elmo live? It freaks L out a bit and he's just a bit too young to get it. Even the dog is freaked out by it. So Elmo has gone onto the book shelf and will be brought down in a few months or so. Alz - L seems to be in a constant state of frustration or me frustrated with him. He is prone to tantrums, albeit very short and easily distracted. He just doesn't have the language skills to express himself and make his wants known and hasn't realised yet that he doesn't always get his own way. L is also teething at the moment so the pain is a factor in his overall grumpiness. Kim - still no baby? I reckon this boy won't be coming out in 2008.
Actually not a lot happening with me, been feeling pretty sick and have been tired and sleeping a lot. Don't think I felt this sick last time or if I am just letting myself succumb to the pregnancy symptoms earlier.
Went to a playcentre today. We took L to one at 12 months and he was a bit overwhelmed by it all. At 14 months he was so much more engaged. After a bit of uncertainty he was into and out of the ball pit and then went around collecting all the balls and putting them into the ball pit. If only he was that much of a neat freak at home. Still a bit too small for some of the activities but at least this time I didn't feel like I'd wasted my money.
Can anyone recommend a remedy for nappy rash? We usually use sudocrem and have found it to be fantastic, but his poos are so acidic at the moment that no amount of frequent nappy changes and cream is helping it. The poor boy cries each time we change his nappy.
Anyway, may not get in tomorrow to chat so wishing you all a very happy new year. We are getting together with some friends which will be nice. Only bummer is that I won't be drinking. Anyway..... Happy New Year everyone.
Sorry just popping in real quick for you Saf, PawPaw Ointment is the only way to go for Nappy Rash. Although my kids have hardly ever had it, i remember Liam getting 1 really bad dose of it and nothing worked but PawPaw. Whenever Chels's bot looks like it is starting to get a little red, I put it on her and its usually gone next day.
Will pop back soon, I have been lurking a bit. Hi all!!!
Nope still here Saffi....im in between wanting him out before Friday (cos i have family down) and staying put til i have gotten rid of a nasty cold i have. Bring on 2009 for a new adventure!
Saffi my m/s & tiredness was so much worse this pregnancy, It's really not easy having a toddler to look after.
Nope Maddi doesn't like her Elmo live but she loves Elmo & the talking pizza.
Alz Maddi is always frustrated.
Kim He'll be out soon, at least the weather has cooled down to make the days more bearable.
hi girls how are you all? sorry i havent been around to catch up on all of the news. things have been hectic here! we had a pretty average christmas this year. firstly the miscarriage on tuesday resulting in hospital, then being told by my mum christmas eve that we spoilt the kids to much and they are going to end up ungrateful. then my mum having a meltdown on christmas day and me ending up cooking christmas lunch whilst everyone else retreated to their rooms! christmas afternoon i went to hospital as i was in a lot of pain and losing clots. 4 hours later they let me out with some painkillers and antibiotics. apparently its all part of miscarrying, which i found out isnt pleasant and have had a week of cramping, blood loss and losing clots. thankfully it stopped yesterday. i also had a scan yesterday which i think went well, i get my results when i get back to melbourne as they have sent them to my doctor. we also caught up with friends for a couple days down at the beach which was great, until the last day when one of the girls annoyed me a bit because she gave her child a biscuit and when mia asked for one she put them away and said what biscuits? i think that is really mean to do to a kid and felt so sorry for mia. anyway we are back in adelaide now, and have decided to go home to melbourne tomorrow. cant wait! next year i think we will stay in melbourne with our own drama free family. we are thinking now about trying again for another baby. a midwife told me there is really no set time to wait, its mainly when you feel ready. i have to say i really want another baby, but you do have that nagging fear that it could happen again! i think the biggest shock to me is how much it has affected me, even though i wasnt very far along.
so enough of the sooking and whinging .... i really come here to check in and say happy new years girls, may 2009 be full of love and happiness, and happy and thriving kids!
Kaz - you had a pretty ordinary Christmas all round from the sounds of it. Its pretty stressful at the best of times let alone being away from home, the complication of a mc and having to deal with the emotional and physical aftermaths of that. If nothing else this mc has proved to both of you that you want and are ready for another bub. I am sure 2009 will be your year and you'll have a 3rd child joining your 09 Xmas celebrations. Miscarriages are more common than you think. Kim - Would be nice for BumbleBee to greet his family while they are here. My antenatal class recommended long walks, curries (Viv swore by one certain brand) and of course DTD to bring on labour.
Anyway, Happy New Year to all the mummies and the bubbies.
