Merry Christmas Everyone :)
well even though I said it yesterday, I'll say it again:
:dance:MERRY CHRISTMAS!
Hope everyone is having a great day
After Tahlia sleeping in till 9am (woo Hoo!) we opened up all the pressies and then DH, Tahlia and I headed to the park for a seafood lunch, which we just got home from. She is now asleep so as soon as she wakes up we are off to my mums for dinner!
Hope everyone is having a great day!
Merry Christmas everyone
Had a very busy day preparing the house and all the food. We had a good lunch tho so it was well worth it.
L has gone to his grandparents for the night so it is just DH, the dogs and me at home. Off to the after Xmas sales tomorrow which is another Xmas tradition for me.
Rest up Kim, not long now. Since you haven't delivered the first Xmas baby, maybe you could aim for the first New Years baby.
Saffi we still have 4 hours left in the day :p
New year baby is the next aim though...well he can come from midnight onwards....would be nice to have him arrive when my olds are here. They come 29th and leave 2nd Jan. Been geting pains all day though....could be something..but probably not cosi want him here so much
We had a good Xmaz day (as much as you can when its not a big deal in our house). Went to friends, the girls were spoilt rotten as per usual. We just had our xmaz dinner of ....MACCAS...LOL
So what did all the kids get for Christmas?
Maddi got a new car seat, Elmo toys, indoor trampoline(which she loves), rocking horse, books, dvd's, clothes, doona set for her big girl bed, more toys, floaties for the pool, shoes & money.
I think that's all. Well at least Cookie wont need toys, i think i have enough to start my own shop up with.
Hope everyone had a lovely day & all the kiddies were well behaved!
Hi everyone
Hope you all had a great Christmas. We had a good one. Lunch was at our place and Max had a 2 hour nap in the afternoon...woo hoo! He totally cleaned up when it comes to presents....
He ended up with (count them!) 12 different books...., money, floaties, clothes, a cricket set, bike (which I will take to my mums house) tonka truck with sand toys (he loved this and was eating his lunch with the shovel), wiggles DVD's, crayola stuff...such a spoilt little man. I'm going to have to put some of the books away for his next birthday!
I am lucky too...I got a massage thingy which you stick on a chair and it gives you a full back and shoulder massage. I have it on my computer chair which is now my excuse for surfing the net so often! I also got a new camera, cook books, clothes. Lucky me!
Next it's new year! NYD is my mums birthday so NYE we are just spending a quiet one here in the spa with some champas and then having lunch the next day for my mums 60th....and then the year starts again! arrrgh!
Take care everyone and can't wait to hear any of your Christmas stories! (I am bored...clearly!)
xo
Hey everyone! Just popping in quickly to wish you all a happy new year! We are heading off tomorrow for two weeks away. I'll "see" you all when I get back :D
Trish hope you have a great time away!
Hi everyone,
Hope you all had a great christmas.
Kaz- so sorry to hear your news. Sending you lots of hugs.
Well like all the other bubs Ethan was so spoiled on Christmas day. We gave him his sandpit and toys to go in it as well as a few little things in his santa stocking. When we got to Mum's though he had so many presents. He got sick of opening presents so we put some away for Boxing Day. Because we are moving in a few weeks and the house is bedlam anyway, we left most of the pressie's at Mum's till we move. It was good that Ethan got lots of presents. He is getting really bored and I haven't been able to stimulate him lately as I have been so busy being sick and packing. Feeling like a bad Mum at the moment. When we move I have lots of plans for great things we can do together so hopefully he will be a bit more settled.
Question - is anyone else finding that their toddler is getting frustrated a lot? Ethan is alway frustrated. Not sure if it's boredom or what. Not sure how to help him.
Anyway I'm gonna have a nap before Ethan wakes up.
Have a great new years.
Hey all
Even tho it was a week ago Christmas seems like such a long time ago. L didn't do too badly with his haul of goodies, choosing quality over quantity. We are seriously at capacity here as it is and anymore toys would just be added to the ever increasing pile.
Julia - a massager WTG. I did my upper back yesterday and one of those would have been really handy.
Mo - does Maddi like her Elmo live? It freaks L out a bit and he's just a bit too young to get it. Even the dog is freaked out by it. So Elmo has gone onto the book shelf and will be brought down in a few months or so.
Alz - L seems to be in a constant state of frustration or me frustrated with him. He is prone to tantrums, albeit very short and easily distracted. He just doesn't have the language skills to express himself and make his wants known and hasn't realised yet that he doesn't always get his own way. L is also teething at the moment so the pain is a factor in his overall grumpiness.
Kim - still no baby? I reckon this boy won't be coming out in 2008.
Actually not a lot happening with me, been feeling pretty sick and have been tired and sleeping a lot. Don't think I felt this sick last time or if I am just letting myself succumb to the pregnancy symptoms earlier.
Went to a playcentre today. We took L to one at 12 months and he was a bit overwhelmed by it all. At 14 months he was so much more engaged. After a bit of uncertainty he was into and out of the ball pit and then went around collecting all the balls and putting them into the ball pit. If only he was that much of a neat freak at home. Still a bit too small for some of the activities but at least this time I didn't feel like I'd wasted my money.
Can anyone recommend a remedy for nappy rash? We usually use sudocrem and have found it to be fantastic, but his poos are so acidic at the moment that no amount of frequent nappy changes and cream is helping it. The poor boy cries each time we change his nappy.
Anyway, may not get in tomorrow to chat so wishing you all a very happy new year. We are getting together with some friends which will be nice. Only bummer is that I won't be drinking. Anyway..... Happy New Year everyone.
Sorry just popping in real quick for you Saf, PawPaw Ointment is the only way to go for Nappy Rash. Although my kids have hardly ever had it, i remember Liam getting 1 really bad dose of it and nothing worked but PawPaw. Whenever Chels's bot looks like it is starting to get a little red, I put it on her and its usually gone next day.
Will pop back soon, I have been lurking a bit. Hi all!!!
Thanks Becky - have got some but have never used it so will give it a go.
Nope still here Saffi....im in between wanting him out before Friday (cos i have family down) and staying put til i have gotten rid of a nasty cold i have. Bring on 2009 for a new adventure!
Saffi my m/s & tiredness was so much worse this pregnancy, It's really not easy having a toddler to look after.
Nope Maddi doesn't like her Elmo live but she loves Elmo & the talking pizza.
Alz Maddi is always frustrated.
Kim He'll be out soon, at least the weather has cooled down to make the days more bearable.
hi girls how are you all? sorry i havent been around to catch up on all of the news. things have been hectic here! we had a pretty average christmas this year. firstly the miscarriage on tuesday resulting in hospital, then being told by my mum christmas eve that we spoilt the kids to much and they are going to end up ungrateful. then my mum having a meltdown on christmas day and me ending up cooking christmas lunch whilst everyone else retreated to their rooms! christmas afternoon i went to hospital as i was in a lot of pain and losing clots. 4 hours later they let me out with some painkillers and antibiotics. apparently its all part of miscarrying, which i found out isnt pleasant and have had a week of cramping, blood loss and losing clots. thankfully it stopped yesterday. i also had a scan yesterday which i think went well, i get my results when i get back to melbourne as they have sent them to my doctor. we also caught up with friends for a couple days down at the beach which was great, until the last day when one of the girls annoyed me a bit because she gave her child a biscuit and when mia asked for one she put them away and said what biscuits? i think that is really mean to do to a kid and felt so sorry for mia. anyway we are back in adelaide now, and have decided to go home to melbourne tomorrow. cant wait! next year i think we will stay in melbourne with our own drama free family. we are thinking now about trying again for another baby. a midwife told me there is really no set time to wait, its mainly when you feel ready. i have to say i really want another baby, but you do have that nagging fear that it could happen again! i think the biggest shock to me is how much it has affected me, even though i wasnt very far along.
so enough of the sooking and whinging .... i really come here to check in and say happy new years girls, may 2009 be full of love and happiness, and happy and thriving kids!
Kaz - you had a pretty ordinary Christmas all round from the sounds of it. Its pretty stressful at the best of times let alone being away from home, the complication of a mc and having to deal with the emotional and physical aftermaths of that. If nothing else this mc has proved to both of you that you want and are ready for another bub. I am sure 2009 will be your year and you'll have a 3rd child joining your 09 Xmas celebrations. Miscarriages are more common than you think.
Kim - Would be nice for BumbleBee to greet his family while they are here. My antenatal class recommended long walks, curries (Viv swore by one certain brand) and of course DTD to bring on labour.
Anyway, Happy New Year to all the mummies and the bubbies.
Saffi and Lochie
Evening all,
Hope you are all going to have a great time tonight.
I wasn't going to pop in tonight but we are planning a boring night at home this NYE. Last year we went into Sydney to watch the fireworks which was a nightmere with a little bub so this year we are staying put.
Saffi - Ethan has had trouble with yucky poos and bad nappy rash lately too. We use bepanthen antiseptic. Works a treat. When Ethan had his first bout of teething gross poos we went through all of the creams and only found this one to work. Hope this is helpful. Hope you are feeling better soon.
We have had a huge day so hoping Ethan will sleep well tonight. We went shopping with Mum and then went for a swim this arvo so he should be suitably tired.
Anyway better go put Ethan to bed.
Night all.
Happy New Year to all!
i hope everyone has a fabulous 2009.
we had dinner at our local club last night and then went to a beach where we watched the 9pm fireworks, kids went to bed easily when we got home so enjoyed some drinks and watched the midnight ones on tele. Thismorning we've been back to the beach for a play/swim before it got too hot.
Kim- good luck, sending you lots of labour vibes, how exciting!!
Trish- i dont need to say it but enjouy your holiday
kaz- id be annoyed at your friend, thats mean and childish behaviour geez.
Saffi- hope the nappy rash has cleared. if the kids have ever had nappy rash i bath them in a bath with pinetarsol and also stop using the wipes and just use soft cotton wool balls with warm water and a little bit of pinetarsol.
i use a cream which for both boys has worked well called Dakazin (think thats how its spelt)
Hey girls, just wanted to pop in and wish you all a Happy New Year!
Kazz - big  for you. You've had a rough time, so make sure you take care of yourself. I was also surprised by the impact my m/c had on me. That fear never really goes away in subsequent pregnancies, but when you're ready to try again, you'll know.
Thanks for your thoughts and kind words girls ... it means a lot!
So we are home .... I have one suitcase left to unpack, its never ending! Oh and the washing, still going with that ... fun! But its so nice to be home and sleep in your own bed. Tay was so funny last night, she got really excited when we come inside. Then she acted a bit scared when we took her to her room and took everything in like she was seeing it for the first time! She slept until 9.30 this morning and went down tonight without any fuss tonight. So she has made her mummy very happy and I hope this sleeping pattern continues! As for Mia, she has a bit of a temp tonight. Keeping my fingers crossed that it doesnt escalate into anything nasty. She has been really good for me as well. She is really growing up and I am finding that she is a really big help to me now. I love my girls ... how lucky am I to have them! I told her its her birthday in March and she started singing happy birthday to me (as in mia). THen she asked if I wasnt to come to her party ... haha. Very cute.
Anyway I could gush all night but my dishwasher wont get unstacked and restacked if I do that ... so night night girls. Hope all is well your ends!
Hi everyone
Happy New Year. Hope all is well with everyone. I'm sitting here having a massage done by my favourite computer chair!
Kaz Been thinking of you hope you are feeling better. You have had a pretty rough time lately x Those 'friends' you hung out with sound like rubbish! What an awful thing to do to Mia. What is with some people!
Mo I've been thinking of you too....how are you?....and how is your Mum?
Kim What's going on!!????????????????
Trish See you soon!
Amber Where are you!!?
Well Max is starting to get molars or something I think...he's been chewing on his dummies lately and been waking up again (actually....what's new!) The other night I actually tried some 'tough love' on him....it only took 2.5 hours of screaming and me going in and out and it didn't even work. I was in tears! Lucky my Mum was here! She says it's just me getting my own back...thanks Mum!
Mas isn't even standing on his own or walking yet either...he is sooo cautious! It's funny I think I see more of his personality come out every day! I'm loving his age ATM!
DH is off to India tomorrow for work which I'm a bit sad about...hope the week goes fast! I have 2 2nd birthdays to go to so we should have fun at least!
Well I'm sure I've bored enough people so take care all
We have walking and some kind of running...well when Chelsea is chasing, Jasmine she picks up a fair amount of speed..LOL
Julia i have NFI whats going on....i have a damn tummy bug now so its hard to know when BumbleBee is going to come....pains galore though. He still has 4 days til his EDD :)
Kim - I have heard that an upset tummy and as nice as it sounds, the runs, can bring on labour ... so fingers crossed for you! The end suckssssssssssssssssss! I am sending you go in to labour soon vibes ... K x
Hi All
Kim - haven't you popped already? Sorry to hear about the tummy bug. Fingers crossed that things happen for you soon. How long will you be allowed to go over this time?
It would be so cute to see the girls running around. Just wait until there is a third to add to the mix. L spends a lot of time chasing the dogs.
Julia - relaxxy Maxxy is really living up to his name. I wouldn't walk either if I had someone to carry me around all day. He's crawling?? Honestly enjoy these moments as once he starts moving your whole life will change and you'll forever be following him around checking he isn't getting into things or him following you around.
Teething really sucks. The molars are nasty looking things.
Nic - been using pinetarsol (had some left over from when I had shingles) and the sudocrem. It gets better and then gets worse. Poor thing was sobbing when I put him in the bath tonight and clinging onto me. I think I will go get some of that stuff you mentioned. He goes back to daycare tomorrow. They change the nappies every hour, but use cloth so I'm not sure if I should ask them to use disposables until things get sorted out.
:hello: to everyone I've missed.
Back to work tomorrow. Have enjoyed being with L 24/7 for the last 2 weeks but have to admit that I am looking forward to getting back to work and doing something other than baby care and housework. I think L will enjoy being back with his little friends too.
Hi everyone,
Just wanted to pop in to say hi
Saffi - A HUGE congrats to you on your pregnancy. That is just fantastic, little people are the best!
A quick update on my little princess - Christmas and New Years was great. She has a doll that she picks up, puts over her shoulder, pats its back and kisses its head... It would have to be the cutest thing I have ever seen in my life! We have friends staying atm and they have a 3 week old bub and Tiera is the best with her, she VERY gently pats her heads and kisses her and sometimes pats her on the back too! She is going to be the best big sister!!! She makes me laugh, smile and cry happy tears daily! I have never been so happy and so proud in my life! I am loving motherhood so much
Josh and I have been talking about bubby number 2 a lot lately... We'd both love to start trying right away, but I am so set on having a winter bub. We definately wont start trying until April, but if I can we'll hold out it will be longer so I do get my winter bub! :)
I hope everyone had a fantastic Christmas and New Years. May 2009 bring you all, everything you deserve.
I'm sorry I haven't been on here but I have still been having a lot of trouble with my computer on this site, it only works on my laptop (Trish - I cleared out my cookies and still no luck :( ) also as I keep my facebook so well updated and I kep myself updated with everyone else I just don't worry too much about jumping on here (Even though I really do enjoy it around here.... stupid computer).
Take care all and I will return very soon I read everyones posts! :D
Julia my Mum is doing ok considering, They now class her as High care.
I'm a little heart broken by it all, i just don't understand how someone can go downhill so quickly & no one can tell us why it happened.
I just keep thinking if i hadn't moved her into a home would she have gotten this bad, Guess I'll always feel guilty about it :(
Saffi hope you had a good first day back at work.
Kim not much longer till you meet you baby boy.
I started to get into the Twilight series only to find out the 2nd book is sold out every-where and wont be in stock for another 4wks. Guess 4 weeks isn't too long to wait.
Mo i have read all 4 books and am in love! How long does it take you to read a book? I could lend you mine? I sure a s hell couldnt wait 4 weeks! I had finished the series in a week and a bit! lol!
Hi everyone will bbl to catch up :grouphug:
Amber i read the 1st book in 2 days, seeing as i can only read night i was up until 1am reading lol.
I was just going to read the 3rd & 4th but someone said it ruin it for me.
Amber i would be so grateful if you could lend me yours, I'm dying to read what happens next!
Hi everyone!! Its been AGES since i was in here!! DH and I decided that as a trial I would spend christmas in Townsville with my parents - we needed to spend some time apart to sort out some things. So i was down there for 2 weeks. I left Townsville to come home on Friday and got stranded 140 km from home after being flooded in!! I finally got back here at 9 pm last night after DH and a friend drove down to get us back - through some pretty deep water mind you! Yes after years of drought - cloncurry is flooding!!
I am sorry there are just so many pages to read through to do personals! So hi to everyone and congrats to everyone on all the different milestones!!
Update on Caitlyn - walking like someone who has been doing it for months (instead of just over 1!) and is even starting to try and run! She knows where her nose, bellybutton, mouth and ears are. She has cut her first 4 molars and is a real little motor mouth - mum, car, truck, dog, Da (my dad), and pretty! She got a little doll for christmas and it is her baby. she cuddles it a lot!
Anyway - am now back home only to find that there is no milk here! of course the trucks can't get through! Am waiting for the delivery to woolworths at 1130 to see if i can get a few bottles. Does anyone know how long you can freeze milk for? I have some in the freezer but am sure it is around 3-4 months old! Luckily when i went down before when i mentioned that it was for my baby one of the guys went out the back and grabbed a bottle for me so hopefull this rain will subside a bit and the deliveries will start coming in.
Anywa - enough about that! I hope you all had a fantastic christmas and new year (I was in bed by 1030!) and that the new year is bringing you all exactly what you wanted it to so far!
MWAH
Hi everyone
Rebecca - not sure how long you can keep it frozen for, but have you thought about using UHT milk? I often use that for Tahlia for her cereal, cause as she is still b/fing, it lasts longer than fresh milk. The MCHN told me it was ok
Not much new with us, Tahlia learnt a new word last night, 'bubble'. She was in the bath with DH and she made bubbles from her bottom (if you get what I mean), and DH said 'did you make bubbles' and she kept saying bubble... so cute.. she now says mum, dad, ella, nana, pa, moo, baa, boo, pretty, ball, hello and bye bye... so cute! She has said a few other words too after hearing me say them, but they have been one offs. I'm sure it wont be long till she is telling me what to do!
For all the b'fding mums here, how many feeds are you on a day? Tahlia still seems to be attached to me way too much for a 14 month old
Kellie - we are down to two a day now. One on waking and one just before bed. I consciously cut down our feeds at 13 months though because my supply had dropped, particularly during the middle of the day and I was finding that feed really hard to keep up. I must admit though, he is losing interest and his feeds are a lot quicker than they used to be :( I'd love to make it to 18 months, but really, he's the boss so when he's had enough, I'll be happy with that.
Willow - how did you do it? She is such a fussy eater I am finding it so hard. She literally climbs up on my lap and lifts up my t-shirt! How can I say No? I really want her to fill up on food though, rather than milk, cause I'll be needing to go back to part time work soon, and she wont have access to boobies then!
Kellie we are in the same boat! Myles has it when he wants and i hate denying him, his lil face looking up at me! I am so soft i know! He only really has it before his sleeps and occaisonally in between them! He isnt a fussy eater as such just not a big eater! Which i do worry about! Oh to have my boobies back! :)
I am also in the same boat when it comes to not owning my own boobies...Although Max has just cut down during the day (he uped the anti when we got back from the UK) so only has one before bed at night, then midnight snacks! I have heard something which may help....
Don't offer, but dont' refuse! One of you probably told me that!!!
ETA Saffi Max is well and truly crawling.....I don't know how sane I would be if he wasn't!! :)
Hi All,
Kim how are you?? thinking of you! your only a matter of days, maybe hours away from meeting your son!
Tyron has been taking steps from 13months, he's now decided to do more walking at 14.5months. H is still very stiff in his legs just like his brother was so not attempt at running yet. god help me when eh does we have enough injuries already! he is into climbing and yesterday found him climbed the chair to climb onto the computer desk, was standing on it and printing out pages!!
saffi- hows Lachlans bottom? hoping its started to clear up more. Nixon never got bum rash much Tyron seems to have had it more often and worse, he just poos too much! and then when a tooth is coming his poo's double.
Tiff- congrats on making the decision to have another bub! i conceived Nixon in September and he was due in June(however had end up being born April). If we had another and IF it worked out that way i'd like a July/August bub! (although in saying that i always hated that my bday was in august cause i could never have pool parties) pregnancy wise having tyron due in Oct was great cause u are only falling pg at the end of summer and at your biggest through the winter and we had them at a not to hot not to cold time!
Nic im here...getting there slowly, have had a number of false starts this time which is annoying, and ive had a tummy bug which has made things alot harder on me. Hopefully not to much longer to go and mr BumbleBee will have a name and the girls will finally have their much waited for Brudda. Theres only 2/3 girls left in our belly group to pop....we had 7 go within 24 hours! 3 on Monday and 4 on Tuesday :D
Jasmine started climbing this morning....one minute she was on the floor and then i turned around and she was sitting next to me on the lounge :D
Just a quick one i passed my GTT I'm so relived i don't have GD, Now i can relax.
Ohhhhhhhhh, I am hopeless with the abbreviations! But whatever all that means Trinity, it sounds positive!
Kim .... your facebook status update leaves me wondering, are you in labour??? Hmmm???
All ok this end. Took the girls to the doctors last night, Mia is ok. Apart from a tummy bug! I have her in nappies, because she hasnt done a pooh on the potty yet and because she is doing so many and they are not solid, I dont fancy cleaning them up! Hopefully she gets better soon as she has nappy rash .. ouch!
Tay has tonsilitis and has also started with the pooh's today. Poor little thing, she was out of sorts yesterday and grabbing at her neck so I suspected. When the doctor shone the light in I couldnt believe how bad they were, puss and all. So she is on antibiotics, but also seems a little brighter today which fingers crossed continues!
I am ok, had the belly upset as well. But its easier for me to cope than the kids. We have been talking about trying again for a baby and from what we have been told you should try when you feel ready physcologically. I feel ok about it all. You definately have the niggling feeling that it will happen again, which is the biggest put off. I think I will go through my cycle and then we will talk about it again! I would really love to have a baby before christmas this year, because I dont fancy having a summer baby! Been there and done that with Mia, its horrible being big, pregnant and uncomfortable in the heat!
Anyway girls, I really should clean up some toys. We are house hunting and on my wish list is a play room for the girls. I am over sharing my loungeroom with the toys that just keep multiplying!
great news Mo, must be a releif!
Kim- yeah i seen all the birth announcements far out it was a busy 2 days! i seen two bubs born at the exact same time how freaky is that! bumblebea wants HIS OWN day to be super special I am sure!
Kaz it was the 2hr Gestational Diabetes test.
Hope the girls feel better soon & gl for when you start TTC again.
Yes Nic it's a huge relief, it means i can stay on all my meds & not have to change the dosage or anything.
