Saffi - Tiera is getting 2 more teeth atm (another 2 on the top row) and doesn't have nappy rash this time and she's not even cranky like usual! Wooo Hoo! I must say the weather here today is beautiful... Much cooler after the atorm we had last night.
Kim - That is terrible they didn't let him see the Dr!!! I had to take T to Dr when she was 2 weeks old and they just told me to go and get her on my Medicare card when I could and they would just add the details afterwards. They're depriving a new born baby and medical attention! I would have been furious! (Maybe I'm just a cranky pants! lol)
Mo - That is a bit odd.... I agree that the tattoo thing is ok, but on the boob?! Hmmm I dunno, its just a bit strange. Are you going to mention anything to her before she gets it done? (or talk to Dh about it?)
Not a lot going on here. Just enjoying a cooler day, we had the strangest storm last night... The sky was soooo bright and was the colour of fire! It was that reddy, orangey colour like fire and was as bright as day, then after about an hr it got very dark an the lightening was constant for hrs, was still going when I went to bed. There wasn't a lot of ran or much noise.... It was just wierd really. I told Josh it was the end of the world!!! lol
Melbourne Girls I am really looking forward to meeting up. When Trish comes back I'll see where she thinks we should meet.
She has Phil's name tattooed on her arm & was originally going to get it under his name. That i thought was fine, but then Yesterday she decides that she wants it across the boob so you'll be able to see Madd & the ison will be hidden under the bra or something along those lines.
I just think it's tacky to get Maddi's name tattooed there, i mean it would be different it was her partner.
Saffi she banned us from having anymore Children as they will only hold us back in life & it's not worth it. So as far as she's concerned she only needs 2 boobs.
Tiff she really couldn't care-less what we thought about it, as it's her body & who cares if it upsets the us.
That storm sounds like it would of been nice to watch, been ages since we had a nice storm.
hey girls ... just a quicky as i am watching tennis and have been out all day ... so dont want to sit on the computer all night ... but i would be interested in the catch up 2 since i am in melbourne! we are moving the weekend of the 7-8th so depending on when and where i will be a maybe! hope your all having a great long weekend x
Pish - yeah I will be glad to put in some more hours at work and less time running after bub and DHs. LOL about Tiera playing with her friend. They are definitely too cute at this age although Caden seems more interested in birds, planes and dogs to worry about his playmates for the moment
Trinity - I hear you on the bad attitude. Caden has cut 2 molars and almost cut the other 2, but I think the eye teeth must be coming in because he has been so grizzly of late. Such a pain in the b*tt but I guess it hurts him more than me. It means he has a short fuse and gets frustrated really easily. I am hoping it is the teething and not a new "developmental" issue
Becky - We got a Ford Focus, the same as my lease car (I salary sacrifice through work) but it is blue. It is very nice and now that DH can do the drop offs and pick ups it is much easier on me. DH has been made redundant so he has been helping alot more with Caden. I musn't get too used to it though because he really should be looking for a job but he has hinted about being a SAHD! LOL about Chel eager to TT! They say girls are far easier than boys...
Melbourne ladies - I am so jealous that I am all the way over here in WA and wont be able to meet up Have fun anyway, I will be there in spirit.
As for us, I think CAden is teething again as he took an hour to get down tonight which is most unusual. He has been off his food and very grumpy and clingy lately so that must be it . Nothing much else going on, looking forward to showing Caden the fireworks tomorrow night.
Hi everyone! Thought I'd pop in while the boys are out buying soil for a veggie patch!
To Pish and all the Melbourne gals, a meet up on the 7th sounds great! I'd prefer a weekend too because then DH can come and help me with the boys. A suggestion from me for a place to meet is the Collingwood Children's Farm. We went there this morning with the boys and there is a little cafe there and heaps of animals for the kids to look at. There is an admittance fee, but if we just stuck to the cafe at the front then we could get away without paying it. If you wanted to walk around the farm afterwards then you could pay, it's $8 per adult (I'm pretty sure babies are free, but it's $16 for a family anyway). The boys had a great time there, they had a session at 10am where they milk a cow and Joel got to have a turn which he was very impressed with! They have pigs, chickens, ducks, goats, donkeys, horses, etc. I'm not sure if anyone else is keen to meet there, but it's close to the city and really easy to find. Let me know what you all think or if you have any other pram/bub-friendly suggestions then let us know!! What time would you all like to meet? Should we meet for lunch? What suits everyone?
Dragonbub - Us Melbourne girls will make sure to think of you when we meet up LOL!
Karen - Where are you moving to? Hopefully you can sneak out to meet up with us!
Mo - I would be really weired out about the tattoo too! Oh well, I guess there isn't much you can do to stop her hey? And banning you from having any more kids??? She sounds a bit "odd"!
Pish - I love a good storm! I used to drive to the top of Mt Dandenong with a friend during storms and we'd watch the lightening go across the sky over Melbourne. It was really scary, but so cool!
Kim - How frustrating about that Dr! I hope Zach's eye is better today.
Saffi - K's got a tooth coming through atm too. He's been a bit cranky, but seems to deal with it better now he's a bit older.
Kellie - When are you leaving for QLD? Hopefully you can come to the Melbourne meet up!
Becky - I'm glad Liam had a good birthday! It's so scary how fast they grow up!
Amber - Happy birthday to your DH! I hope you have had a lovely time away .
I have been keeping really busy this weekend. I find if I'm busy I don't feel as cr@p! I have cleaned out our garage and cleaned out our laundry (believe me, that was a massive job LOL!) and rearranged Joel's room. We are making a veggie patch in the backyard this arvo. I'm glad the boys have gone out for a little while, it gives me an excuse to put my feet up for half an hour!
Mo - Hmmm not good... Your MILsounds a little pig headed like mine (if I'm allowed to say that?!) Below your Dh's name would have been nice.
Kaz - The 7 n 8th is the only weekend I'm in Melb sorry. I hope the move goes well for you... Moving isn't much fun, but when you're all settled in it'll be great!
Dragon bub - It really sucks when they're getting teeth. I hope Caden is feeling better really soon. I must say too Tiera LOVES dogs! She barks when ever she sees one hehehe its really cute. One of our dog's 'talk'... He has a happy bark n doesn't shut up when he's excited and he loves her so much the when she's outside he is none stop so thats where she gets it from!
Trish - The farm sounds fantastic to me! Hye you always seem to be cleaning... I really think I need to take a leaf out of your book. I do the basics - washing up, washing, drying, folding, ironing, floors, dusting, beds and bathroom, but go as long as possible with everything else! lol oh thats terrible and I really shouldn't addmit that either should I?!
I am bored out of my brains... It is so hot here I really don't want to go for a walk but I do cuz I have nothing else to do! lol Tiera is in bed atm and has been for the past 2 hrs.... She's such a good sleeper! Oh and she seems to be cutting another 2 top teeth, which makes 6 for the top, but only 2 on the bottom... Thats not normal is it? Strange thing is the bottom two have been coming up and down since she got her first two teeth! She hasn't been at all whingy or anything like she usually is so hmmm its all a little weird!
Saturday the 7th sounds great to me! We are leaving for QLD the following weekend. It is my BIL's bday that day, but we are having an early bbq dinner for that, so either a morning or early lunch would be best for me. The Collingwood Childrens Farm sounds great, I have been wanting to go there for a while. Kazaraz - it would be great if you could come, Tahlia and I would love to meet you! We'll have to see if Ange and Lulu want to come too
Mo - I agree with the others, that tattoo does sound strange
Saffi - will a forecast for the week of 37, 40, 40 40 and 30 prepare me for QLD? Cause thats what its going to be in Melb this week - yuk!
Hope everyone else is well, we had my best friends 30 th birthday, combined with an Australia Day celebration today, was lots of fun.
Ick ick ick on the weather this week, I don't not recommend being heavily pregnant in summer!!!
Good to know I'm not over-reacting to that tattoo. Tiff MIL is so pig headed, i could think of few other names for her but we go there lol.
Trish she does have her very odd/rude moments.
Sat 7th sounds great to me & i know Maddi would just love the farm. I'm happy with a mid-morning/early lunch meet-up as well. (I've let Ange know about the meet-up)
Kellie - I forget that Melbourne does get very hot. I don't mind the heat but its the humidity that gets me everytime. When you get off the plane (assume you're flying) be prepared to be hit by the humidity and unable to breathe for a moment. Melb gals - sounds like a nice place to meet up. Wish I was able to come along Pish - everything you listed is normal cleaning. What else is there to do?
Big day tomorrow. L turns 15 months and is moving up to the toddlers room at daycare. It will be interesting to see how he copes sleeping on a mat on the floor and sharing his snacks with the others. One of his carers from babies is also moving up to the room as are the majority of his babies class so he will be with familiar people.
Anyway, getting late and best try to get to bed. Slept on the couch most of the night so not sure if I'm ready to sleep.
Kellie - Awesome! Great to hear you'll be joining us, should be a good day. I think the kiddies will love it!
Mo - I had wanted to be preg during summer next time so I can have a winter bub but I dont thin it would be much fun! One of the many reasons we decided to start trying early!
Saffi Wow.... What a big boy moving up to the toddler room! Thats a scarey thought that this time has gone so fast and they're toddlers! I hope to adjustment goes well. Its good that he'll have some fimiliar faces there though. When I was in day care one of the ladies wouldn't leave me and with every room move I made, she came with me... I still talk to her to this day and she still keeps a pic of me and a boy Cohen (which was my best friend during pre/primary school) up in her house! lol
Becky - I love that pic of Chelsea, she's a little cutie!
Not a lot going on here.... Went for a 2km walk this morning and met up with some of the ladies from Mother's Group. It was so good to get out of this bloody house and feel a bit normal again! I am sooo glad most of the terrorist (heheh tourists) have gone and the town is quieter. The park is very quiet but now everyone has gone there is a lot of cleaning up to be done. There isn't a lot we can do when every site and every cabin is book for 6 weeks straight so it all needs to be done before Dh starts his holi's as of this Friday! Ain't gonna happen! lol
Hi everyone!! It feels like its been ages since i was on here! I have been trying to keep up via emails from Bellybelly but its just not the same!
I am realyl sorry that i dont have much time for personals but I do hear all of those that are going through teething at the moment. Pish Caitlyn only has 2 bottom teeth and six or eight top teeth (depending on whether they are up or down - they seem to vary day by day!) but she is cutting her bottom molars now. What a noise!!
the last couple of nights with her have been painful. She used to sleep 10-12 hours in a hit - now i am lucky f she sleeps past 3 am! Only been the past few days though and i think it is because we have been stuck at home (raining!) with not a lot for her to do. Will see tonight after a full day at day care.
other than that - she is a walking, talking, EATING machine!! My goodness the girl can eat! Almost as much as me!
She is growing up so quickly! She is in size 1 at the moment but her little belly is poking out the bottom of most of her shirts and i am wondering if she should go up to a 2! Althugh they seem too big for her....poor little thing! Think she is going to be tall like her dad (he is 6 ft 3, i am 5 ft 2).
Now for my question (sorry for TMI)...for those on Implanon - did your body go through the same sort of changes that it did while you were pregnant?? For the past 3 days my boobs have been sooooooo sore....and i can't wear a bra (not good for a 14DD!) cause it touches my nipples and is SOOOO PAINFUL??!!! This is what it was like when i was first pregnant.....and ideas????
Anyway - I hope you are all doing well and all those that are pregnant again are getting more and more excited!!
Will try and get here more often - would love to make the meet up with all of you but that jus isnt gonna happen!!
Tiff if you wanted a June, July or August baby i guess being pregnant during summer wouldn't be as bad, as you wouldn't be at the point of feeling like a whale lol
Becky if i thought she would change her mind & not turn into a total cow about i would.
Rebecca When i had the implanon i had some symptoms like that but nothing that bad, i did get the continuous light bleeding for a few weeks then nothing for months.
It really messed with my body.
Rebecca77 - I have been on the mini-pill since Caden was 6 weeks old and TBH have noticed no side effects, but I wouldn't have noticed them too much then anyway cos I was still establishing bfing. I was on implanon a few years ago and the only side effect I had was bad pimples. I had no problem with breakthrough bleeding or anything.
Pish - glad you got out of the house for a walk. LOL about Tiera and the dog. I want to get a dog in a few years when Caden asks for one. Then he can name it and it will be "his" pet even though I will be the one who looks after it .
Trish - I am definitley jealous. It is so lovely to meet up with other mums and chat. I love going to the park and listening to others tell their stories. I never get tired of it and am always eager for more information. It makes me realise that having a baby really connects you to other people in a way that no career, study, or other can do. It is like you are part of a larger family with invisible ties but such a strong bond.
Saffi - I hope Lachlan went ok in the big boys room?
Becky - yeah, first day for DH to drive Caden to and from DC tomorrow, fingers crossed it all works out!
Trinity - on the tattoo, it IS a bit weird. Although my MIL would never dream of doing anything of the sort and I think is only vaguely aware of Caden's actual name anyway . Of course I am kidding, she is much better now that Caden is bigger. In a way it is a nice gesture, but a bit hard to show people the artwork without exposing oneself...
Everyone else - hi! HOpe you are keeping cool in the heat.
As for us, busy week ahead because I have missed a day of work due to Oz day so will be busy for the next week making up for it . That is one of the drawbacks of part time, you have to work 50% harder to justify your time off, which makes it more stressful and you feel guilty more. It is even harder being a woman I think, because they expect you to be focussed on your child and not professional. I find it quite easy to stop thinking about Caden at work (I never forget him but he is at the back of my mind cos I know he is safe and happy) and just get on with the job. In fact, since being a mother, I find I am better at my job, better at time management and multi-tasking. AND I don't waste time like I would've before.
Well, on a personal note, I haven't had AF since before trying for C and I stopped bfing about 6 weeks ago. I assume I will get it soon but am starting to worry slightly. Has anyone else experienced this?
Better be off, dinner to cook, yadda yadda. Have a great week!
L seems to have had a good day. In the end they put him down for his sleep in the nursery as he wouldn't stay on his mat. I barely held it together when I left him this morning. Early days but I am sure he'll be playing like the big kids in no time.
Dragon - I stopped BF at 5 months and it wasn't until L turned 12 months that I had my first period (and the one that I fell pg from ). My cycles were carp beforehand so wasn't surprised it took so long to come back.
Hear ya on the part time employee/fulltime Mum business. I have to be better at managing my time cos I can't stay back to finish stuff up. I have some photos of L at my desk and love looking at him and that keeps me motivated. Pish - terrorists = tourists LOL
Rebecca - So good to hear from you! Good to hear Caitlyn is doing so well! Geez it must be hot p your way... I don't know how you deal with it, I couldn't lol
Dragon bub - Hmmm yeah it must be hard working P/T. I hope they don't over work you this week I can't help you with your little prob sorry. I stopped BF at 6.5 months which was just after I got my first af after having T. I dunno why that would happen.
Saffi - Glad to hear L did well in the 'big room'! I know that there isn't anyway Tiera would sleep on a mat, and I'm sure they're use to that when the bubbies make the transition. I was thinking yesterday that Tiera does not sit a seat to eat... I have to put her in her high chair or she'll just run around! lol So that got me thinking I really need to put her into a child care situation from time to time so that leads me to today....
I went to the gym this morning and left Tiera at the Creche. I really freaked out and wanted to cry, but T was fine. Once she saw the other kids it was as if I wasn't even there anymore. I felt terrible when I walked out and left her there incase she turned around to look at me and I was just gone But as I say she didn't give a toss! lol When I got back I thought she'd at least give me smile, but no... She started talking to me as if she was telling me what she had been doing, but no smile. I really enjoyed the body pump class and I think it will be easier to leave her next time... After I get over the guilt I'm feling atm! hahaha I'm hopless.. I know
