Hey Pam ~ My first DP was like that, not really into the baby side of things, but once DS got bigger and started interacting more he was right in there.
I have tried to hold off Seven from feeding so often, she doesn't normally go that frequently, but its to no avail - she screams harder! She won't take a dummy so I can't soothe her that way, but, when she does go on the breast, she actually feeds, instead of just snacking, so she must need it right?
Hi all. Went to the dr yesterday afternoon for Arabella's constipation cause she was straining so hard and the coloxyl drops weren't doing anything at all. He gave us something else for chronic constipation. Fingers crossed that does the trick. Another good night here, I feel very lucky for that.
A bit of a wake up call for df yesterday. He went to give Arabella his usual 5 minute daily cuddle and she just dropped the bottom lip and started screaming, that's what you get for not spending enough time with her. So he at least came to the dr's with me and held her while we were there. Now to get him changing nappies .
Pam - thats great to hear all is ok with the lump, must be a big relief for you. Did you find that as soon as you gave Poppy the formula that she got constiapted?
Kell - It does make you feel better when the partners help out. My DD is coming over today and she helps me out heaps so I am really excited to have someone to at least pass the baby to for a few minutes.
Aaahhh baby awake, will BBL for the rest of my personals. xx
It feels like I haven't been on for ages! We've been really busy. The dog tore a ligament on Tuesday playing with my Dad while he was watching emily while i was at the psychologist, so the poor dog had to go to the vet he's in lots of pain which is sad. I also had my 6 week check (at 7 weeks too) Pap smear didn't hurt which was good. Dr asked me about contraception...ha I said I hadn't even thought of it, its the last thing I feel like doing!
I spent 3 and a half hours shopping yest. emily was really good and slept most of the time. I even got to try some clothes on. Wasn't happy with anything cause I am so fat now and have stupidly big boobs. I have to try and find something to wear to 2 of DH's work functions. He is getting promoted and has a regimental ball and will be in his super fancy uniform so I need something fancy too.
Kell- I hope things keep improving. I echo everything everyone has said on here. You are def not an idiot. I would def try and get some help at a treslilian/Karatine type place over there. You don't want to be stressed out so close out from your wedding!
Sue- I hope the constipation gets better.
Pam- I hope the u/s and biopsy go well. Good ot hear its unlikey to be cancer. How scary.
Kerry- that's Sad Matthew hasn't met his father yet, soon fingers crossed. Good on you for sorting out his feeding, hopfully it gives u a break and some peace of mind. I found with expressing and knowing what I give emily helps me.
Eej, how's the poor dog. Mine tore the ligament on both back legs (not at the same time). Does your's need to have surgery?
Sue, hope the new medications does the trick for Arabella. Good luck getting your DF to change a nappy. DH doesn't want to do it cause I refused to buy disposables for him. Really why would I want to buy a whole pack just in case he decides he will chane ONE.
Kell, sounds like Seven might be having a growth spurt. Could be why she's feeding so often. How'd the routine go tonight?
Pam, glad the results came back good. Hope everything goes well with the ultrasound. Do you think it's better to have a close age gap between children or a bigger one. We're trying to decide if we should have another bub soon or wait awhile.
Oh I didn't get as far as I'd hoped. Ashlyn has decided she doesn't want to sleep again tonight. Must be because I wanted to go to be early!
As you can see, I am in a MUCH better mood today. Because: We didn't have a screaming session at all last night!!!!!
Decided to try a couple of new things last night.
Spoke to a friend who is also a LC, and she suggested trying to hold Seven off to go longer between feeds, and also to really encourage her to take both sides at a feed.
So, after losing the plot a little yesterday afternoon, I sat down determined that this was going to work. I fed her, burped her, then offered her the other side, and she took it, for a few minutes anyway.
Then, started with our night time routine. Dim lights, warm house, minimal noise, nice deep bath, massage. Then I settled her to sleep in my arms ? took about 10 minutes ? in the hope that I could hold her off from another feed until it was at least 2hrs. Took her to bed with me at 10.30pm, with the intention of feeding, but she stayed asleep until 11.15, fed, and????????????SHE WENT BACK TO SLEEP!
We totally missed the 11-2 screaming session! Seven fed 3 hrly overnight and I am now waiting to see if she wakes up happy. I know I have!
