Maz - I think I'm feeling really guilty because of people struggling to breastfeed in that first year (I definitely have been there done that too) and here I am kinda complaining about her not weaning at 2YO. I'm just so friggin tired though. I haven't had a good night's sleep since sometime in 2004 (plus I've got a shocking head cold at the moment which isn't helping with a storm coming this arve here, so it's muggy as hell right now). I kinda go between wanting to keep going and stopping, and the 'support' (for lack of a better word) that I'm getting IRL is either along the lines of my sister telling me and Ambah that she's gonna chop off my boobs if she keeps feeding after her birthday (gee, she's got a great sense of humor hey ) and then recently I've been talking to a few people that I know that have said that they breastfed their youngest ones until they were nearly 3 - which makes me feel even more confused.

Oh, and yeah I know my KK should be here soon (I know it was sent, a little birdie told me ). I'm impatient though hehehe, I can't wait. I'm so excited about her birthday!!! Doing a trial run of her cake tonight, so fingers crossed it works out.

Nelle - Ambah's been drinking cow's milk since she turned 1, I think boobies are mainly a comfort thing (and she tells me quite often 'I love booby mummy, yummy booby soooo cute!!!). Aaron's been putting her to bed at night, she'll take a cup in with her but doesn't drink any of it. He was telling me all he does is stroke her hand and say shhh and she's asleep within 5 mins!!!!

Annat, I reckon if I go for a third it'll be a boy, so never mind if you have a boy!

Remind me again which games you got Ness?

River can work the microwave now - think that comes from his Oma letting him press 'start' on his dinner. And there was a spill in there, so I opened it and smoke pours out - shut it again quickly.
He's a bit of a krang today actually, looking fwd to getting him to bed after ITNG. :P

ETA: He's pushing all my folded washing off the table and turning the xbox on and off while I'm feeding Si! Aargh!! Anyone want him??!

annat - I reckon if I have a third it'll be a girl. 3 girls, geez, poor Heath when they're teens!!

shell - you should see our gas bill each quarter! We have gas hot water and stove top, and it's VERY expensive. Then on top of that we have our electricity bill, which is massive in summer when we have the air conditioners on 24/7.

shar - you have done such an amazing job b/f Ambah for so long. Good on you, you should be proud of that achievement. Never mind what other people think is appropriate. When they're babies, who do you listen to...your own mind. People always say things like 'she doesn't seem fat enough, maybe she needs a top up of formula', or 'maybe she needs formula at night to sleep through'. But most breastfeeding mothers don't listen to that, and continue breastfeeding. Well it's the same now. YOU know what is best for her. And as her mother, it is up to YOU when you decide that there is no more booby. And I believe when you have truly made up your mind, then you will be able to wean her with ease. Until now, I don't think you've been ready. Each time you've attempted to wean her, you've had your doubts about whether you're reading to or not. And that's not helping the situation. You need to feel 100% ready to do this. And when you do, stand your ground.
I know you long for a decent night sleep, and you will get it, one day. Until then, you are doing the best thing by Ambah to still be breastfeeding her.
So sending you big your way.

Thanks Jodi. I held out from giving her a feed until about 5 this morning. I got into that really philosophical tired stage maybe about 2am - I was thinking, yeah I really do feel blessed that we have gotten so far, it hasn't all been fun and games, but it has been a damn good run and I have really enjoyed the special bond that we have. But I am ready to have my body back to myself IYKWIM? Oh well, wait and see how it goes this time, little miss didn't go to sleep until 10 o'clock last night (she was all hyped up because we looked after our nephew last night while sil went up to the hospital), but she wasn't upset at all. Aaron actually fell asleep next to her about 8, so I took over. Awake again at 2, but was asleep within 15 mins. Couple more stirrings then she woke up at 5-ish and I gave her a feed and we both passed out on her bed until 6.30-ish. So overall a pretty good night.

MM not such a good night here again. Ruby was coughing all night and had a temp. Spewing phlegm everywhwere. We had to sleep in the lounge!(again) The coughing doesnt stop until i give her durotuss forte and painstop.I will have to ask the dr what painstop has on coughin because the coughing medicine only works in conjunction with painstop when she is really bad. They cough so bad they can hardly catch their breath.
