Nelle - Ive got a safety gate and YES im going to do exactly what you want to do with River. I did it with the boys and they became really comfortable in their rooms. Just make sure you have furniture infront of the powerpoints and cabbles...I know were your coming from Nikolaus loved them when he was littel too.
