Rach- Ash had her chicken pox vaccine last week and has been fine so far but I know reaction can take awhile. Personally I can't see why you wouldn't get it, I know its everyone choice and ppl have reasons not to but I remember having chicken pox when I was younger and how awful and sick I got so I just think why would I want to put Ash thru it when I can prevent it iykwim.

the reason I asked is

1. it doe
2. it doesn't stop them getting chicken pox
3. in Japan where the vaccine has been used for 20 odd years a higher than normal episodes of shingles has been occuring
4. vaccine only lasts 10 years
5. Jack is not in the high risk category for chciken pox, ie no older sibling, not in childcare etc

I had it as a adult and I know how bad it can be, I spent 2 weeks buck naked as I couldn't wear clothes laying on my bed in a dark room with Jase spoging me with pintasol mixture ......... so yes I know how bad it can be

anyway we are still undecided we may hold off giving it to him and give it with his 4yr needles, a lot of the info I was reading yesterday says that the majority of cases in under 10 yrs is extremely mild, yes there are possible complication but there is with everything you dont vaccinate against IYKWIM!!! and a lot of theinformation said if they haven't had it by 10 yrs then is a good time to vaccinate.......

I am all for immunisations where the vaccine helps to eradicate (sp??) the disease but chicken pox and rota virus vaccine dont prevent just can make the outbreak milder than normal anyway I didn't want to start anything just ask a simple question tryiing to gather info about the pro's/con's

well Jack is 18 mths (yesterday) only seems liek yesterday we were in townsville having him I can't beleive how quickly the 18 mths have passed, he has all his teeth bar the 2 yr molars now he had his first dentist visit last week and his teeth are looking great she said

Rach.. i think there is a thread somewhere regarding the chicken pox vaccination. You might find more info there.
We got it for Jesse a few weeks ago being the fact DH has never had it and it can turn him sterile now if he was to get it.. and we want to prevent that as much as we can to maybe happen to Jesse. He had no reaction to it at all, didnt even cry for the first time with the needle. It doesnt stop them getting chicken pox 100% but it has its purpose otherwise the govournment wouldnt pay for us to give it to our kids.. it wouldnt exist. Its the same with any vaccine. They are there to try and lessen the disease (if thats what theyre called) in the population. You can get chicken pox from someone walking through a shopping centre or down the street.. you dont necesarily have to be incontact with kids.

Each to their own.. its a personal opinion and decision.. thats just mine.

well i had coke and choccy easter eggs for brekky, followed closely by peanut better toast

well im on a liquid diet.I have gastro and i have never had the ****s so bad.Even from bali belly.Last time i did i was in hospital.So im sucking a gastrolyte icypole and praying my husband will take care of me.Fat chance.
