Hi ladies, long time no post, i find it hard keeping up with two different threads! Will try harder. ;)
A Q for you all-Luella is really sleepy today, she was pretty much slept since 7am except if i wake her for a feed. (which i do about every 3-4hrs) She is normally a great sleeper but is awake about 1 in 3 hours. Nothing has changed here. No recent vax. Should i be concerned. Or is she just growing? Has this happened to anyone else?
-
hi ange and other ladies- hope luella is ok...i'm having very similar issues. i just popped on here to ask whether i should be worried about lewis right now. i didn't bother giving him the panadol cos he seemed to get better, but now he has been asleep all day. he never sleeps this much. should i be worried? i woke him before for a feed but he went straight back to sleep. this is very unlike him.isit just from the needles???
-
Gracie- i have heard the vax needles can make them sleppy for a day or two..... hope he is ok.
-
Ange - Rory had a period where he was only awake for an hour to 1/2 hour at a time, then slept for another 2/3 hours.
-
Gracie - that can be a side effect from the needles, I think a few of the other bubs were very sleepy for a few days afterwards.
AngeA - was she really fussy for the last few days? Could she have just had another growth spurt and is sleeping today to recover from it? I hope she doesn't decide that she wants playtime at 2am for you!!
-
thanks cally- so i guess i should just try to relax and enjoy the quiet time huh? unfortunately dp is working late tonight though so i'm all alone!
renee- i love the new pic in your ticker, mum and bubs is so cute!
-
Thanks for replying guys.
Now that you metion it Cally she has been a little fussier than normal the last two days. I thought it was b/c we were out at a wedding all weekend.
Renee- Good to hear i'm not alone, feel better already! ;)
-
Noni - Thats excellent, definately make sure that you go along to the chrissy party! Isnt it ridiculous how much the cost of formula differs at coles etc and the local chemist. Once I paid $24.00 for a can of S26, but when its on special (like it as at the moment at toys r us for $18.00) I stock up. The flu is horrible. DP is sick atm, so we are keeping well away from home hoping to avoid it.
Renee - Oh no i've got my fingers crossed for you! Not that a baby would be a bad thing, just terrible timing! I've been wondering about the whole private school thing too, and whether I should get Maddie baptised. Ahh!
Gracie - Maddie was fussy and sleepy after her needles. I wouldnt worry about it, just enjoy the peace while you can!
Hayley - Hope you feel better soon. I often have a freak out too about whether I should be playing more with Maddie. I think as long as you have at least one play time together during the day, that should be fine? I also make sure I do tummy time every day, even 5 mins is better than nothing.
AngeA - Maddie has also had strange days where she has just slept and i've freaked out. I think its just a growth spurt, because she was back to her normal self the next day.
Cally - Yep I have trouble getting back to sleep. Maddie usually wakes at 5/6am, this morning it was 4am!! I finally fell asleep around 7am. Feeling tired today. I am a person who really needs 8 hrs plus!
I finally got my photos developed today, just need to buy a couple of baby albums.
Well we are having dramas within the family atm. My SIL (who can be a bit rude at times) is having a baby shower tomorrow night. I am the only one on this side of the family that has been invited. Even our MIL is not invited. She is the grandma for goodness sake!!!! This is SIL being a B**** and doing it on purpose, because she doesnt really like our MIL. I feel sorry for our MIL, she can be full on, trust me I know, but she was so excited about the baby shower. And considering that MIL has kindly bought her a brand spanking new pram & car seat, not to mention bundles of toys and clothing! Anyway is it evil of me to make SIL feel guilty about it tomorrow night!? Maybe I should just keep my mouth shut.
Has anyone else not dtd yet? Having dramas with DP, he says he is too scared as he thinks he will hurt me. I dont know if this is just an excuse though, because shortly after the birth, he 'jokingly' said he wont ever have sex with me again after witnessing child birth. Every night now for the past two wks I have been suggesting it and he always fobs me off. Feeling very unloved. :( Is it possible for a man's sex drive to drop? We havent done it in MONTHS and I've heard that the less you do it the less you want it. Maybe this has happened to him? :(
-
Haley - would a few beers help the situation? DH wouldn't go near me when I was first pregnant but with a few drinks in him he got over the weird pretty quickly lol Sorry your SIL is being a cow, it sucks to be caught in the middle of family problems.
Not much going on today, just stayed at home. I am glad I got a Bumbo, I sat Will in it while I was folding the washing - he laughed a my washing songs and tried to eat a toy. He is also happier at dinner time if he is sitting in it at the table with us, just watching and talking.
I can't believe it was only 12 weeks ago he was a tiny little floppy worm, now he is getting so big and doing more every day.
-
Ladies, I'm lying low since disaster hit yesterday in the form of GASTRO - (me). Had to go it alone for 12 hours while DH got himself home from Sydney. Poor E just had to lie there crying for the last couple of hours cos I literally couldn't pick her up by then. Keep your fingers and toes and everything else crossed that the DDs don't get it.
Arte, I wasn't going to post but I saw your post and had to jump on to say - don't use the bumbo anywhere except at ground level - falls are a really common occurance, they were recalled in Aust a few months ago for that reason so the packaging could be updated. Not sure if that's what you're doing but thought it best to mention it for all the ladies who have pre-recall bumbos. xxx
-
hey there one handed typing here!!
poor Ash is really unwell, shes vomiting more (which i didn't knw was possible lol) and its kinda phlegmy tmi... ive just cleared out her nose with fess n aspirator n shes already had panadol today n all she wants is cuddles poor little thing... thing that makes it harder is i have the flue too n feel like **** most of the time...
ww tmw am almost sure ive put on all the weight i have lost been apauling with my eating this week!
md - oh no hope the gastro passes asap and dds dnt catch it!!!
arte - glad will likes the bumbo! we are thinking of getting one for Ash
haley - we havnt dtd yet either but its a combination of i was scared when we had time together n lately we have barely had ten mins to ourselves!!!
oh crap gotta go one arm isnt enough to stop the screaming nemore!
-
Arte - Alcohol hasnt seemed to help. A couple of wks ago we went out, DP had a few beers and seemed to loosen up a bit, but then he went too far and passed out on the bed when we got home! I'm starting to get very frustrated with him and I know that he knows!
Noni - Gosh I hope Asha gets better soon. Poor hunny.
Marydean - Oh no you poor thing! Gastro is absolutely horrible. What a shame that you catch it when DH is coming home!! Sounds like quite a few of us are sick atm.
-
Hayley - Do you think it is really because he saw the birth of Maddie? Or because he is worried he will hurt you? Maybe skip the suggestive part and move straight onto ripping his pants off LOL, men can be daft sometimes and not get the hint. Could he be really tired too??? I just had my soon to be SIL over telling me she isnt getting any love because he is just too tired.
Me on the other hand ...well lets just say there is a good reason why I am so worried I could be pg HAHA. But I had a c/s so it isnt tender down there.
noni - I hope you and little Asha feel better real soon. You poor things, I couldnt even imagine how you must feel. I wish I could help you out, I really do. Want to move to WA???
I Better go to bed. I stayed up late last night and as a result I was soooooooo grumpy today. I Promised myself that I would have an apricot oil bath and and early night but that plan when out the window.
-
Morning Ladies,
Noni/LP/MD- I hope you are all feeling better soon and noni I hope Asha is better soon too.
Hayley- My DH was like that before we were married. He was about the same age as your DP. He was working really hard and in turn was not interested in sex due to being tired. Now ever since we had the boys he is horney all the time but now i am the one too tired. lol. Have you had a talk to him about how you are feeling? I hope things get better.
Hello to everyone and hope you all have a great day
-
Sending get well vibes to all those sick mummies out there!!
Hayley - we have DTD a few times since K was born. Can you pop some sexy underwear on after bubs is in bed and wander around the house? That might get him going!
Well K and I did exactly the same thing yesterday as we did the day before. And yet last night she slept for 1.5 hours less!! Why!!! I don't mind getting up to her in the middle of the night, I suppose I am just the sort of person who likes to plan things and know when they are going to get up.
Arte - I'm thinking about getting a bumbo or bebepod. Might talk it over with DH tonight. At the moment K just has her rocker with toys that she can kick and her playgym. DH was talking about going to the toy shop on the weekend to see what else we can get for her.
-
hello everyone
can't believe how many poor mummies are sick atm! hope you're all feeling a bit better today, how horrible!
renee- have you taken a hpt yet? are you taking microlut cos my dr told me i only had to take it for a week before it started working so you're probably fine.
noni- hope you're feeling better. are you going to a mothers group meeting? why don't you find out about a baby massage course or something like that where you can meet other people? i'm planning on taking lewis to swimming lessons once he's 5 months as well as a bit of a social thing.
hayley- my dp has been a bit funny about dtd as well. we've dtd 3times since the birth, and only a handful of times when i was pg. our whole sex life has slowed right down! i think we just have other priorities atm and it is hard to get a moment when ds is always around. dp has been working really hard too and concentrating his energies on the new business. it is very frustrating though isn't it? i hate it when i really feel like dtd but he doesn't ggrrr.
well i've got a really quiet day today. didn't make any plans as i thought lewis would be really crabby after injections yesterday, so i'm just gonna sit around the house and rest and relax. we're trying to watch our money atm too with xmas coming up etc. as dp will be taking some time off so there'll be no money coming in.i've been spending way too much lately!! too much shopping and a whole new little person to spend on so i have to put the brakes on!
trying to get my friend to join ww with me in january. how are all you ww ladies going? is it working? i hope so. i wonder how ella is going? haven't seen her post in a while...
are any of you in melb planning on going to see the ricki lake doco?? i'm going to the morning session on monday...
well, my lazy day has started very lazy already...speak to you all soon xo
-
I took one yesterday arvo and it came up negative :) Im on levelinED, I hope that works after one week LOL
-
despits having a terrible week on the diet i really did intend on going to ww this morning but we slept in and woke up at 11 and the meeting is at 10:30 lol oops maybe i will go to a different one this week to make up for it or maybe i will just try really hard this week and hope to lose something for next week.. i just dnt know if i have put on or not so that makes it hard...
renee - glad the test was negative for you :)
gracie - i am going to a christmas party thing for a mothers group on friday provided we are well enough... Asha is gong to start swimming lessons at 6mths coz my mums dh is a swimming teacher and wants to get her into it asap lol...
cally - thanks for the get well vibes... Ashas been sleeping a bit less lately too i think she is just hungrier...
leanne - thanx, i hope she gets better soon too its awful having a sick bub!!
rennee - lol yes ok i will move i need friends in my area!!! how bout you come to sydney lol??
haley - maybe u should buy him just enough beers to get tipsy and not enough to be too much.. hope you can figure it out asap!
-
Morning everyone,
I hope that all the sick mummies get better real soon.
Renne glad the hpt was negative, what a scare.
Gracie a lazy day sounds wondeful, I hope you enjoy it.
Cally do you think Katie is going through a growth spurt? Logan had started to sleep from 7 or 8pm until 5am but then late last week started waking for a feed around 1am. Last night he didnt wake for his feed until 4am so I thinkit was just a growth spurt and am hoping he starts sleeping longer again. Do you give K a dramfeed? I am thinking about giving it a go tonight.
Hayley we havent DTD that much since Logan was born either. Its hard to get in the mood, the last thing iwant when I have had to hold Logan all day is a fully grown man all over me lol. We were very active durring pregnancy though, even at the end. Maybe your DH is scared of hurting you, I was scared my DH wouldnt want to do it after seeing Logan born. Perhaps you should start things off yourself and call him in to see what your doing lol, maybe that will get him in the mood.
Just had Logan weighed he has put on 350g this week, I dont think the nurse has seen may babies put on this much weight in one week- she seemed rather shocked. Afetr only putting on 80g last week I am super impressed and feeling really good about what we are doing. I sold my Amby Baby hammock this week and the lady is picking it up today, woo hoo some more money for Christmas.
Have a great day everyone.
-
Noni- I am starting swimming lessons for Olivia at 6mths too. Thats when the boys started and they love going. Now they are swimming with the teacher by themselves. My boys are growing up fast.
Renee- Wow I bet you were relieved with the negative result.
Katie- Congrats on Logan putting on weight.
-
Ozstar - no, K has been sleeping like this for ages. Her first night time sleep ranges from 5 - 9 hours!! I definitely prefer the 8 or 9 hour nights!! We don't do a dreamfeed because she tends to go to bed at about 9:00, very closely followed by myself.
-
hi everyone
just when i was asking you all about frequency of feeds - the little man has gone 2 breasts every 2 hrs today!!! i should never have doubted his appetite LOL! that said he has for the last 3 nights slept for 11 hrs straight so i am in no way complaining - this new phase suits me just fine!
we have been having a great time together - he is getting so much more playful i just love it!
am getting nervous for the flight on sat -all by myself - but i keep telling myself it is 1 hr even if he screams the whole way LOL! had my last yummy mummy session today, well it is on next week but i wont be here to go to it. i have enjoyed it so much and we will all keep in touch.
ETA - oops sorry I pressed send too soon...
Renee - glad the HPT came up negative (for now) - imagine 2 under 1 year old LOL!! I am sure you would cope but man you would be busy!
Noni - so glad that u got some good responses on the mothers groups - the xmas party sounds like fun and you will meet some nice people i am sure. i hope you are feeling better... and that Asha is too of course.
Cally - sounds like things are going well with Katie.
Hi to everyone else - gotta go i just heard an explosion in Noah's nappy!
xxx
-
ahhhh stressed!!! today lewis has come up in red lumps on his arms and legs so i totally freaked out and took him straight to the doctor. she thinks he's had an allergic reaction to the injections yesterday and has referred me to the pediatrician. i'm now sitting here waiting for the pd to ring me to tell me when to come tonight as he's going to fit me in after his last appointment but they're running really late!!!what a stressful bloody day!
-
oh no gracie! let us know how you go...
does he have temp?
-
Oh gosh Gracie, I hope Lewis is okay! Is he sick or is it just the rash? I hope your okay too, you must be worried.
Pregpan - Lol, thats what I thought when I got the negative result! I think it may be too early to tell but im holding onto that negative result just for the moment....so I dont go insane haha.
But im a strong believer in things happening for a reason...............well that and im a dumb ass for not reading the instructions!!!
-
hi ladies! quick one from me....
...hope all the sick mummies there are feeling better....same with asha and lewis...hope they're fine now.
renee, gotta have something "positive" to look forward to eh? (a negative result lol)
hayley, we haven't dtd since max...and hadn't for a few weeks before either....can't even contemplate it at the moment...we both just crash when we get to bed these days.
everyone else, sorry but i've forgotten what i've read.
noni, another thought to get together with other mothers, did you attend ante natal classes? i just got together with 4 others from my ante-natal class and we'd decided to do this monthly. one of us hosts it every month. and if anyone wanted to meet up for coffee, they'll just email where and when and just show up if you can. it was pretty good. didn't get to really know the ladies well during the classes but totally enjoyed myself today and looking forward to the future get togethers.
-
hi all
well asha is still sick, ive given her panadol quite a few days in a row now because she keeps running a temp :( drs on sat if it dosnt improve, just having a chill out day at home tmw so see how that goes... poor little darling all she wants is cuddles which is kinda cute but i feel so bad for her...
i seem to be warding off the flue but it keeps coming and going one minute crap the next fine i suppose thats better than all minutes crap lol...
today was supposed to be the re start of my ww diet and i have eaten half a packet of pink tim tams oh where oh where has my motivation gone???
fianne - nope i didn't go to ante natal classes, i went to something called powerbirth but it was in castle hill and i never really talked to anyone else lol being the social butterfly that i am!!
oh gracie how scary!! i hope he is ok!!!
pregpan - wow 11 hours straight haha i get excited when i get 4 hours and then ash comes to bed to cuddle for another 3 before a feed lol
-
Hello Ladies
Just got back from a baby shower....what a nightmare!! Poor Maddie was sooo over tired it wasnt funny. I left as early as possible without being rude, but far out she cried and cried and I looked like a bad mother who didnt know what she was doing. :( Anyway got her home, put her straight down in her cot, and off she went. Just felt like a real idiot iykwim - I know what my SIL and her fam think of me - that I'm too young to be a mum and that I dont know how to be a mum. Grr just a bit down atm.
Re the dtd thingo, he does always use the i'm so tired line and I know he is tired he works hard, but surely he can find a bit of time somewhere for me? Feeling unloved!!!!
On a more positive note, we put our little unit on the market today. Hopefully we will get a few bites on it very soon.
Anyway....enough about me.
Gracie - Goodness me, I hope little Lewis is ok. You did the right thing taking him to the doctor straight away.
Noni - Poor Asha hope she has improved by tomorrow.
Renee - I'm sure that nothing will come of it. Make sure you use protection from now on!!! Sorry, sounding a bit like your mum hey?
Pregpan - Good luck for the plane trip. :) We are hoping to go to Melb early next yr to visit our new nephew who will be born by then. (even though we should bother because SIL is a weirdo!!)
Cally - WOW she sleeps SO well! You lucky duck.
Leemar - Wish I had a horny hubby hehe!!
Ozstar - I know what you mean about the growth spurts. Maddie usually sleeps from 10 though to 5/6am but the last few days she has been waking at 2 and four. Feel like a zombie!!! At least she is well and truly growing hehe.
Hope I havent missed anyone. Wishing you all a good nights sleep!!! (if only)
-
haley - if any of them have an ounce of sense in them they will know maddie was just tired and poo to them if they dnt realise it or think your to young your a great mum and they should just be greatful that you made the effort to go!!!
-
I am glad alot of you ladies arn't back on the horse, so to speak. We have DTD once. (And it was painful!) But some of the girls in the October thread are back to 3 times a week! OMG. Not a chance!
Gracie- i hope lewis is ok.
Just wanted to say that i think Lu was having a growth spurt. She slept all day one day then wanted to feed every three hours day and night for two days. (She usually only wakes once in the night) She seems back on track, hopefully!
I have forgotten who's little one is in a santa hat in their ticker, and it's back a page, but just wanted to say...............HOW CUTE!
ETA- A couple of the october mums and bubs are going to have a little meet up at Rickets point in Brighton. I think there will be three or four of us.
(ME, Kimbaz, Lilyangel, Yael) We have never met IRL before so it will be nice, just thought i would mention it incase any of you ladies wanted to come along too. It's Dec 12th at 12.30pm at Rickett's Point Cafe. Which is in Beaumauris.
-
Morning everyone,
Logan woke at 3.30 for a feed and I put him back in his cot at 4am, DH bought him in to bed at 6am on his way to work as Loagn was wide awake and wanted to play. He didnt want to go back to sleep so I fed him at 7am and he has been asleep ever since, but now I am to awake to sleep. I think I will be tired tonight.
Ange your meet up sounds like fun.....have a good time. If I was in Vic I would be there for sure. Its my ticker which has Logan in the santa outfit. I actually got a PM for another member the other day asking where to buy the outfit.
Hayley your a great mum and poo to anyone who doesnt agree.
Pregpan good luck on the weekend, I am sure Noah will be fine on the plane and the two of you will havea blast in Melb.
Noni how is Asha today? I hope she gets better son, its awful feeling so helpless knowing all you can do is give cuddles to make it better.
Gracie how did Lewis go at the Dr? I hope it isnt anything to serious.
Leanne I want to get Logan into swimming lessons when he is 6 months and once he is old enough we will put him in Nippers, living this close to the beach I think it is a great idea.
Yesterday arvo Logan did a really big and runny poo after that he had a slight temp and just wasnt himself, he kept doing REALLY smelly fatrs too, I actually thought it was DH until I heard Loagn do it. He was so unsettled it was awful. He seems ok this mornign though so fingers crossed it was just something I ate and not a bug.
I hope evryone has a good day.
-
I thought I was going to get a lecture this morning from DH about something I'd done wrong, but he was only telling me that I need to take the chance to nap whenever I can because I am not superwoman. I think it was brought on by my very grumpy comment at 3:30 this morning that if Katie tried harder she could sleep for 7 hours, not the 5.5 she'd just done. And then he left the laundry door open on his way to work so the cat jumped on me just as I was about to arrive in dreamland again this morning!!
Gracie - how is Lewis today? Hope everything went well at the paed last night.
Pregpan - that sounds like K lately, both sides every 2 hours - unfortunately not the 11 hour sleeps too!! Very jealous. I'm sure the flight will be fine, if he screams, just feed him for the hour, Katie would love that and doesn't it help with the change in pressure or something so they don't get sore ears?
DTD 3 times a week!! You have to be kidding - where do they find the energy (or are the Berocca manufacturers doing a roaring trade)
Angea - meetup sounds fun, hope you have a good time - are you all wearing a rose so you know which people you're meeting???
Ozstar - did you try the dreamfeed last night?
Lunch today with a friend. Katie and I will be in our usual outfits, what is it with this weather? Only 22 here today, I've only got one long sleeved top that doesn't make me look like I have a beer gut and she only has one outfit (other than a wondersuit) that is long sleeves and legs.
Someone is waking up from her nap and is sounding grumpy already - better go and deal with it.
Have a good day everyone.
-
Cally I didnt do the dreamfeed last night as Logan had been unsettled, I think he may have had a little gastro bug or something. Will give it a go tonight though.
-
LOL Ozstar, Rory was doing stinkers yesterday too hahaha. I had a bath with him last night and there were little air-bubbles rising up everywhere :) I hope Logan is feel better soon.
Noni - Poor Asha. I can just imagine her wanting cuddles :) I hope she is back to herself soon. xoxox
Cally - I hope you and Katie have a lovely time at lunch :) We have the same problem here. It was raining all night and when I got Rory out of his cot this morning his hands were like ice. Hope you have a nice big sleep tonight.
Hayley - Dont worry about the baby shower. Im sure they understood that Maddie was over-tired. Rory has done that to me a few times when we were out with friends. I end up stressing out saying 'he isnt always like this I swear' haha. And noni hot the nail on the head, they should be happy you went!! PLUS your a great mum and pooey to them for thinking your too young!!!
Rory slept in his cot for the first night and it went okay. It took me a little while to get him down though. He woke up at 2:30am for a feed and it killed me getting up LOL!! I Think I have into my own routine of waking up at 5:30 - 7:00am now. But he went down after and slept through to 8:00am for another feed and he is back in his cot asleep.
Its so temping to put him back in his bassinette because he likes it better but because we are hiring a cot on our holiday then he needs to get use to it.
-
ETP - missed Renees post
AngeA - DTD 3 times a wk!! Far out, I'd be happy with once a week.
Cally - Oh I hate it when the cat escapes and wakes me up, sooo annoying!
Ozstar - The swimming lessons are a great idea. Especially after hearing the amount of young children that have drowned over the past few weeks. :(
Renee - Oh I know I've got Maddie in the cot now, it is soooo tempting just to put her in the bassinet!! I guess we have to get them used to the cot before they outgrow the bassinet too. Do you have a chair in Rorys room for nursing? I'm doing day sleeps in the cot atm, but I cant really do her night sleeps there yet as I dont have a chair for nursing and I dont want to be hiking her around the house in the middle of the night iykwim.
Does anyone else have trouble with tucking baby blankets into the cot?? When Maddie is the in the bassinet I can tightly tuck her in, she's all snug and I'm confident that the blanket wont ride up. But when I put her in the cot I cant tuck it in!!! She's in her cot now and I'm forever checking her! Cant do this all night long. Is there a trick to it?
-
hello everyone! thanks for all your kind wishes about lewis. we went to paed at 7.30pm last night and he gave him a really thorough looking over. he thinks it's either some sort of insect bites (mozzies) or a very mild allergic reaction. anyway, so lewis is absolutely fine and gooing and gaaing like a little monster this morning...thank god!! when we were there the paed told us he'd been at the hospital all arvo with a little 10week old boy whose heart was packing it in and he didn't think he'd make it through. how horrible is that??? made me realise just how lucky we are that lewis is so happy, healthy and beautiful. i just love him so much!!!
hayley- you are such an awesome and loving mum! you are not too young at all. i think you're fantastic and you seem so intelligent from the way you articulate yourself on here. don't listen to any haters!!!
renee- any morning sickness signs yet??? ha. tbh i think i would be secretly kinda happy if i fell accidently pg again...that's so bad isn't it?? i would love another little lewis....or maybe a little scarlett or ruby lol!!
dtd 3 times a week!! you must be kidding. we have never done that, maybe in the first 3 months or so...but since then we've been more the 3 times a month kind of couple!! lol now we're the 3 times in 2 months kind of couple lol!
Ange- thanks for the meet up offer but brighton is just a bit too far for me unfortunately...maybe next time??? have a great time meeting bb girls. there is a ricketts sanctuary (william ricketts i think?) near my house. i wonder if they're related?
pregpan- have a great trip. are you flying virgin? do you get the special seats with more room?
katie- love the santa outfit too. is logan going to wear it on xmas day? should be very funny!
noni- hope asha is doing better. you poor thing, you're doing it a bit tough atm by the sounds of things...lewis is actually starting swimming at 4 months with two sets of twins, all the same age. so there'll be 5 in the class all up. i'm looking forward to it.
bought myself some little presents from strawberrynet that arrived yeaterday all wrapped up pretty! beautiful perfume...i must stop shopping!!!
have a lovely day everyone. it's super hot down here again...
-
Hayley - can't help you with the tucking in, since DD has been in the cot it has been quite warm overnight so she has just been in her nightie and a wrap. I have been wondering the same thing though, can you put the sheet or blanket sideways so there is more fabric on the sides?
Gracie - glad that Lewis is doing so much better today.
-
Looks like I am joining the sick mums club, feel like I have a tennis ball lodged in my throat. Hope Will doesn't catch it.
For cot blankets, I don't tuck them into the bed at all. I just lay them over W and tuck them under him a bit. Usually he stays still while sleeping and only kicks them off when he wakes. If you tuck them under the feet, when they kick the blankets automatically get drawn down - not up over their face.
We went to swimming again yesterday, he seems to enjoy it and it is nice to get out of the house.
Does anyone know anything about teething rash? Will has new red spots/pimples under his chin. I thought it was just another outbreak but the swimming instructor asked if he was teething and said it was teething rash. He has been attacking fingers with a crazed zombie-like ferocity and his fist has taken up permanent residence in his mouth, but I just assumed that was normal?
A MASSIVE WOOHOO! After nearly 3 years of restoring a car, it is finally on the road! It has taken soooo long and been the subject of many arguments, but it is finally done. DH drove it to work this morning so it also means that I now have a car during the day again.
-
hi everyone
busy busy here today as i have a group of mummys and babies coming over for a channukah party - well just really a little get together but i am expecting about 10 kids so i have a lot to do to get the house ready...
Queenie - i meant to respond to you, thanks for the channukah wishes.. did you make latkes?? i have not this yr, it is quite a hassle - i just went out and bought doughnuts for the party! if you want some recipes though i have HEAPS of them... are you lighting candles at home for channukah? it is a nice tradition for the kiddies.
Hayley - for Noah's cot I use cotton cot blanket -which is wider than the basinette blankets and i double it over so it is not too long and then tuck in to bottom and the 2 sides, it is pretty snug (i found that the basinette ones were too narrow so there wasnt enoough blanket to make it tight at the edges if you kbow what i mean? i tuck in the bottom and one side tight then pop him in and tuck the other side in, i pull them down through the slats so he is snug as a bug... hope i explained ok and it helps. i must say it was a little tricky to move him (took a few days) but now he sleeps alot better in the cot than in his moses basket, i think bc when he startles (we only wrap one arm) he now doesnt hit anything. he looks SO cute in there!! i have been getting him to sleep 10 or 11 hours and that is since i moved him... fingers crosed it remains this way! i wonder how he will go in the portacot next week at Mums...
Arte - sorry i dont know a thing about teething rash... i wonder if we will have our first sept baby tooth soon!!!????
Gracie - glad lewis is ok. LOL at nlt being too upset if you had an 'accident' - i kinda know what you mean - i dont want another yet but i kind of want it to happen quickly (dont know what DH thinks though... i think he would rather wait a yr or 2 more than me but i also need to balance work etc - too difficult to think about)
hi to everyone else - hope all the sickies are feeling better.
-
Pregpan - Happy Channukah too!! Enjoy the season and all the merriment it brings. :D I know it's a festival that goes over several days but is there a particular day that's THE DAY? Do you do have those spinning tops (driedels?) (I'm in an acapella singing group and we have a driedel song we sing in December).
Queenie, I'll let you test Pregpan's latke recipes (like my own personal Womens Weekly home chef) and then you can send me the best one LOL. Hope S is a bit more settled now...?
Gracie, pretty scary about Lewis' reaction. I'm glad he's ok.
Noni, I hope Ash is feeling better soon, poor thing.
Arte, DD1 got a nasty dribble rash under her chobbly chin which wasn't teething related. E is also stuffing her fists into her mouth but I don't think she's teething yet, I think it's just something she does to amuse herself. With the weather, I wouldn't be surprised if its just heat rash - babies can be pretty prone to heat rash esp in their first summer.
Finally feeling better today - STARVING hungry - not yet game to eat very much, but I'm going to have to soon because I've noticed my supply's getting a bit dodgy. Had to miss new mum's this morning - (haven't had the path results back and don't want to share it around esp not knowing what it was) - :( Feeling right out of the loop. DH has been pretty good about it all, especially since he had to flunk out halfway thru his course (and will have to repeat the whole thing from the beginning) to come home for us.
Hayley -re the blankets, try putting it sideways like Cally suggested. Unfortunately they sell a lot of ridiculously small blankets for babies. I'll be getting a nice onkaparinga one for E's cot next year as they are a good size.
DTD three times a week? Umm, I'm not sure we're even averaging once a month (!!!) Plenty of cuddles though...I'm the reluctant party now until we get our contraceptive future sorted - don't feel I can relax properly until then. DH went a bit weird on me for a while for a few months after DD1 was born - but got over it eventually. Not sure if he was grossed out or just shocked. I was in a lot of pain for a long time afterwards tho and I think there might even have been some guilt there - like he saw how much I suffered in labour and felt responsible. Lots of talking about it and being affectionate in other (non bedroom) ways got us through.
Katie, when did Logan have his rotavirus vacc? Might that be causing his unsettledness?
Sorry anyone I've missed. Hope the other sickies are on the mend. xxx
