I'll join that society Marydean ;) I am so glad that Alister doesn't do explosive poos. He's had some pretty big ones but nothing that I've had to do a complete gear change for. How much longer are you on the AB's for?

Arte, I hate when they go through that stage, it really does make it hard to get anything done. I don't mind sitting and having a really good snuggle, but not all day. How are you going with your BSL?

Supa, glad the lochia settled down a bit for you. It's a bit worrying though when you do have fresh bleeding. That's great news that Tia is a bit more settled for you now. And way to go on the restaurant feed too - I always had too many bits hanging out to do it with confidence LOL. Did you buy anything at IKEA?

I feel absolutely knackered today. The lack of sleep has finally caught up with me and I have been getting around half asleep today. I have no idea when I will be able to catch up on a bit of sleep either - DH doesn't finish night shift until Tuesday and then I am busy for two days after that *sigh*

With the nappies, Alister is too big for newborn ones now and quite often wets right through onto his clothes overnight. I have some infant ones ready to go as soon as I finish the newborn ones. They do look a bit big on them, but then so do the newborn ones at first until they grow into them (well, not Master A - they fit just right from the get go LOL). The thing I hate though is that Huggies don't make the infant size in the bulk box anymore for some reason, only the bags. Babies galore have the big boxes, but paying $20 postage defeats the purpose of buying them.

Arte, have you tried using a sling - it's just like having four arms! LOL Well it's the closest I'll ever get to growing an extra arm anyway!

Sherie, ABs until the end of the week, thinking I'll front up at the drs and ask for a repeat US to check everything's finished - if not that'll be another course I suppose. The infection control ppl from the hospy left a mssg on Fri so I'll be ringing them up telling them ALL about my experience - pretty sure it had to be an operative infection and will explain why I think so. Feeling much better now, still get tired after doing not much but at least I feel like doing things now.

Gotta go, just having a quick check if I can make lemon delicious pudding without separating the eggs...wish me luck!

ETA you just solved a mystery for me Sherie, we were looking for the Infant size of Huggies at Woollies the other day (the big boxes were on special) but couldn't find them anywhere! Grrrrr!

Oh Marydean, you have me wanting a nice hot lemon delicious pudding and cream now ;) I will just have to settle for icecream.

It is really annoying about the nappies and I have no idea why they did it. I think I will call their consumer line and solve the mystery once and for all LOL.

hi everyone. thanks for all your help and suggestions on the breastfeeding thing. i think i'm starting to get it under control now. ds seems to be getting enough milk just from the breast so i haven't expressed or given him any formula today. feeds were just turning into too much of a hoo ha and were taking over an hour! now i'm just chucking him on the boob for as long as he wants (sometimes 30 mins each one!) and trusting that he's getting what he needs. he's been weeing and pooing a lot and semms happy and content, so i think it's all working. grrr bfing is so confusing and i think some midwives have stuffed me up a bit and made me paranoid. oh and btw, you can count me in to the large brown flat gang too.
anyway, apart from all that i'm loving having little one home, despite the lack of sleep. it's great. he makes me so happy everytime i look at him.
hoping i can get on here tomorrow and read back on some posts and see what i've missed. is there any news on queeni yet?

Wow been busy in here, took me ages just to catch up.

I have a friend and her 4 month old here for the weekend. She is so much bigger then Logan.

I bought a box of 100 infants nappies at babies galore yesterday as I am down to the last 10 newborn. the box was $40.

P.S *Gives Pregpan a big high 5* - you aren't the only one lugging around F size cups! I am a 12F! lol. They only just fit into my mat bra too. I should really get another one, but I sort of haven't had the time or energy to remember to get one. They feel so good after a feed and they are deflated again. Yes, I too have the large flat brown ones. :cryinglaugh:

So there is a size of Huggies between newborn and crawler? I thought it looked like a big leap in size.

I don't have a sling but have been meaning to get one. Unfortunately the car decided to break down when DH was on the way home from work on friday so we are a bit housebound this weekend.

My blood sugar is o.k but not great. I have to go in for the GTT next wednesday so I guess I will find out soon enough.

I spoke to a lady from Kimberley Clark and she confirmed my thoughts - the hospital had smaller huggies than the 'newborn' ones U buy from the store. The lady said that they make two lines because some newborns are even too small for the small size. They do not sell them though. Apparently the infant i think it is is from 4-6kg and the newborn nappies are up to 5kg. I haven't cracked open the larger bag of nappies to have a look at them yet, but you think there is a big jump Artechim? mmmm

there have been some red lines around T's leg and i told DH not to put the nappy on too tight. I wonder if she is growing out of them.

Ikea - just bought some face washers pack of 10 for $4.95 - figure they'll be good for burping moments and to keep in the nappy bag to wet for those JIC moments.

Is it just me or do you little ones find that weeing on the changetable a good idea once you have used a cold wipe to wipe their bottom? T is doing this frequently lately.

SupaB, I noticed the difference between the newborn (up to 5kg) and the crawler (6-11kg). W is gettting too big for the newborn, but isn't big enough for the crawler. I guess the infant size fills the gap for 5-6kg.

W used the change table opportunity to wee and poo almost every nappy change to start with. It still happens but with less frequency now.

Just a quick catch up, things have gone a little crazy around here the past few days!:doh:
Everyone except me has come down with a dreadful head cold...we are officially the house of snot! Poor Broni is the worst atm and therefore lots of sleepless nights and constant whinging...thank god for chewable panadol!! :pray:
Afew nights ago Jasmin had her first arsenic hour...well actually...it lasted for 5hrs! We finally figured out that it was from the garlic in my lunch :( Poor thing was pooing like there was no tomorrow and it had a very distinctive smell. It took a cpl of days to get fully out of her system, so we had a few rough feeds and several hours of screaming along the way. Then the poor little bug gets a head full of snot!
I've done a little bit of work over the past few weeks, but i work for myself so i can slot it in when it suits me.
Yes, we've DTD a few times now with no problems. I had no problems with my labour and no tears/stitches, so i was ready to go once my lochia had finished. The thing i always worry about is whether it still feels the same as before....ie not any looser!!!:lol: But i'm a mad pelvic floor exerciser, so i think i've got it all under control...and my partner assures me its all in good order down there lol. Falling preg again is also another worry, but i'm taking the mini pill so fingers crossed thats enough.

Ok well thats all i have time for atm...Jasmin is wriggling in my arms here. bbl to catch up some more...

Re: DTD we have not done it yet but I went out and bought some condoms yesterday. Dont want anymore suprises. I have to book DH in for the snip for next month. I am not really sad about not having anymore babies as I think for me 3 is enough and feel truley blessed to have them.

Olivia is chucking as well. I have also bought the next size up in nappies the newborn ones are just starting to get tight on her.

Gracie - i remember when Jess was a baby, that the midwives confused me as well. I was getting so stressed worrying about how long she was feeding on each side. (i had a book where i would write absolutely everything down) It got a little better with Zoe, but with Hannah i find i'm much more relaxed because i let her tell me when she is hungry and whether she's had enough. I'm glad that it's all working out for you both now :)
Supa- Hannah loves to wee when her nappy is off. I especially like it when she does it while Daddy is changing her nappy hehe.
Ele- hope the family's snotfest comes to a halt really quickly ( hope you don't get it either)
Well, yesterday i got my haircut and had it all taken off. I've got a nice short style now that i don't have to do anything with - except run my fingers through it. Washing my hair this morning was wonderful.
I've got Hannah in the Hab right now, as she wanted to go to sleep and i've got to tidy the house (should be doing that now actually)

no news really on this front but thanks for asking Gracie! ;) Marydean is going to post for me when junior finally arrives. Heh heh!! Same old semi-painful contractions story, a bit more weird mucus today (another pre-show warm-up band?? ROFL), frantic cleaning (baby shower may have had something to do witht hat though), little sleep again... mega-emotional... craving chocolate... feeling a bit nauseated (possibly from chocolate)... sound familiar?? hey, within 3.5 weeks at least something should have happened! Though if my nose was anything to go I'd be saying the "show" had well and truly started! SOOO much snot so Jazmum and 1127, I guess we could start a snot collective :lol:
Renee I'm so sorry but we forgot to take any piccies at the baby shower today!! Will have to make it up to you ;) We were too busy enjoying ourselves sitting around drinking tea & eating instead... a small group of my best girlies & close family. Got SPOILED: a rocker, carrier, playmat, toys, useful baby items, funky clothing... the baby room is looking well and truly furnished now. I am ALMOST at the stage of thinking that the baby can safely arrive now and it'll all be good! (although a few weeks for leisure would be nice!! just need to be able to relax and sleep - and do the sodding TAX) Reading everyone's posts post-labour and in the early weeks is so helpful...
Take care everyone - Sherie I'll ask the ob tomorrow about which way they measure engagement in the practice. From the sensations I've been getting I suspect it's 4/5 below not above! Plus I did an Ella-style DIY and all I could feel was a VERY hard bony object pressing on the front of my vaginal wall - couldn't even get up towards my cervix - which I am assuming was the little one's noggin.

OMG Queenie - i just saw your ticker - YOU ARE FULL TERM!!!! wow wow wow wow wow so exciting and from what you are saying I think it is all going to happen soonish...

I know Pregpan - I just updated the pic and then looked at the days left and thought OMG - it really has flown... then again the contractions settled right down again so NFI! hey sounds like EVERYONE's labour!! I guess we just have to wait and see as relaxedly as possible and just enjoy this last bit (she says having been awake since 5am AGAIN ROFL). Maybe I should try channelling your cervix and invoking the labour gods... or just sit on my a$$ and try to do a jigsaw?? or maybe the quiche was the magic ticket!
SupaB one task I have set myself is to collate some recipes so I will email you soon! hopefully making the Christmas cake this week...
oh - and did anyone else's boobenheimers get REALLY sore in the last few weeks? I have started wearing a croptop to bed which means yet ANOTHER thing I have to remember to pick up off the bedroom floor and stuff in the labour bag...

Queenie, sooo glad you enjoyed your baby shower yesterday - sounds like you were spoiled in the manner you deserve! Try not to make yourself mad wondering about every little twinge, hun, you WILL know when it's the real thing! Prolly about 15 mins after you sit down to do the tax, hehee!

Jazmum, sounds like you've been giving the HAB a real work out - I haven't tried mine yet (bit scary with the wound infection and all) but had a decent long walk yesterday and came home with a sore back but no wound pain so we'll give it a try today!

Gracie, I breathed a big sigh of relief for you when I read you're post, you've turned a corner when you stop agonising over all the nurses say-so and start trusting your own sense of what you need to do and not do - this is one of the great secrets of happy mothering! :)

Sherie, well I didn't find a non-egg-separating recipe but DH whisked the egg whites for me and the pudding was delish! I have a teensy lemon tree in a pot with four more lemons on it...guess what they'll be used for!

Very extremely happy to report that we finally made it out to Floriade yesterday (and not a moment too soon as it was the last day LOL). Luckily not all the tulips were dead, DH brought a foldup chair so I could have a couple of extra sit-downs, and it was a gorgeous day. Hard to tell who was the most pooped when we got home - MD or Elisabeth!

Anyone else still getting up umpteen times a night?...we've been having a 1.00 3.30 and 6.00 pattern which has not yet evolved into longer stints *yawn*.

MD - I totally have to get upa few times in the night - i do a feed between 12.30 and 1.30, then 3.30ish and then 5.30ish.... hmmm do you think he will drop a feed?
have been trying the last few days to get him to take 2 sides, as i thought this may makw him drag out feeds more - say 3 hourly in day (he feeds every 2 hrs or so sometimes) - i am not sure it is working, he doesnt seem to be wanting the 2nd side often so i guess this is ok...but i am still trying to drag out feeds a bit... i feel like a slave to his feeding!
we are starting Gymbaroo today - i cant beieve i am taking him to a 'class' at 4 weeks... i think it is a mix of physical stuff i do with him (games), music and play - i am doing it also to meet some more new mums (it is for non mobile babies) and i hope he enjoys it - i dont mind if he sleeps thru it at the start!
we had a bit of a milestone yest - noah was on his playmat and he stretched out to grab the toy we have hanging off it, and now he keeps doing it - amazing!!!!

we went to a wedding yesterday - was beautiful and Noah was soooo good!!

ETA - Queenie - i wanted to go on all 4s originally, I ended up in a position that was similar - kind of like a reclined all 4s - was on the bed but the bed was more upright to help gravity and i had legs right back - being held back (way back near my head it felt like - by midwife and DH... i was meant to hold thighs as well i think but i kept grbbing some bar behind my head... the midwife showed me this position as i liked all 4s but it was hurting my knees... hmmn not sure i described that so well but i do recommend the position!

Well I am starting my diet today and start weight watchers on wednesday. I have to get rid of all this chub. I had an ok weekend yesterday the garage door stopped working so today I am waiting for a man to come and fix it. I hope we dont have any storms today as my car is outside.

Pregpan -I have to wake once during the night, usually at about 2:30am. It takes me about an hour to get back to bed. Hannah is a couple of weeks older than Noah, so it might happen soon for you. I hope you had fun at Gymbaroo today.
Leanne- i should really join you on the WW diet. My DH and i did it together (we just bought the recipe books and did it ourselves at home) after Zoe was born, and i lost a lot of weight. I'm too hooked on my cup of tea and bikkies at the moment though.
I bought some Baby Love nappies today - Infant nappies for 4-8kg - packet of 48 for $16. I haven't used them yet, so i'll try them next nappy change and see how they go.
