HAPPY BDAY CALLY!!!!! so sorry i missed it earlier, i even have apost it on my computer to remind me!! Hope you are having a FAB day - did 'Katie' make you breaky in bed???
Clare - so funny wioth rudd's boxes - you could have made a packet selling that story on today tonight or something if only you found something scandalous!! OK have to ask what is egad???
Italian playgroup sounds fun!!! And the ricotta idea is a good one - baked ricotta would be a delicious breakfast i think. Leila sounds gorgeous - when we meet for coffee N and her can have their own convo, he is such amotor mouth!! da da da ga wa na ma ga ga. i sometimes say it all bacxkto him and he squeals. i am prob saying I would love a breastfeed in baby talk LOL!!!
Happy Birthday Cally!!!!!
So sorry I missed it earlier today  I hope you are having a great day! and that dinner tonight is wonderful.
Pregpan, 'egad' is an exclamation like crikey! LOL.
Clare, the way Alister is going I think he might be that snot nosed boy on a motorbike LMAO.
Pregpan: i know i use 'egad' alot!! i think it is a derivitive, like golly and gosh, when back in the day it was blasphemous to use the 'lords name in vain' and so people came up with other words in its place...not sure though...
yeah, we'll have to have a baby babble talk off when i come up!!
Sherie: LOL! at least if it's Alister, I'll know you and we can laugh (and or reprimand!!) together!! and look, if it's a ducati motorbike, then at least there is an element of style...
Cally: i totally missed that it's your birthday!!:happybirthday: i hope that it's loads of fun and you get lots of pressies!
LOL Clare, so long as it's not a Harley ;)
And a big Happy Birthday to Marydean's H for today too! I hope she loves the room and feels all grown up now!
Hello all,
I have finally managed to post a greeting after Artichem suggested a couple of months ago that I come in and have a look ( I posted a bit of a despairing question in the relationships forum). I've just read through the recent posts of a few days ago; Georgie has been doing exactly what noni e was saying - up at different times every night, not going back to sleep, being inconsolable at times. Not getting much sleep and therefore my ability to cope with it goes down the tube. And it seemed to be getting steadily worse and worse. This morning though I've noticed her first teeth poking through! I'm sure this isn't the end of it though, but it IS a relief!
Anyway, I just wanted to say hello and introduce myself.
Suzie
Georgie born 07/09/07
Hi Suzie and welcome! It is so hard when you have no idea why they are waking so much and what other avenues you can take to try to fix it. at least you know that when a tooth pops through it seems justified kwim?
Hello Suzie!
Thanks for the birthday wishes everyone. Had a lovely lunch with PIL. A parcel arrived in the post today which is my present from DH but I am waiting to open it when he comes home.
Happy birthday to MD's DH and DD1 as well!!
She just woke up, so will try and pop on later.
Woo look at me two posts in two days lol.
Suzie a big hello and welcome to you.
Cally HAPPY BIRTHDAY, I hope your having a wonderful day.
MD Happy Birthday to your H too.
Clare Italian playgroup sounds great.
Pregpan don't you just love the stage they are at now, I have been telling my sister that she isn't going to want to go home after seeing how much fun L is now. Its why I haven't been on much, I spend so much time playing with him and being entertained by him... then when he is asleep I need a rest lol.
The weather is so crappy up here today I hate it. We have started some painting here, we are going to wrap all this years Christmas presents in L's home made paper, so far it isn't to messy but I have no doubt that will change. Better run and get some things done while DH is home to entertain L.
Hi Guys!
Spoke to MCHN and she said Rory's behaviour is perfectly normal! YAY!!
Rory slept from 7:30 - 9:00am the other night! I just about had a heart attack when I woke up and he wasnt awake! I hope he doesnt do it again! This week he has cut his day sleeps down to one in the morning and one in the afternoon. He is a ball of energy now, constantly crawling around the house, bouncing in his JJ and bashing toys! He has a permanent smile on his face, he is just so darn happy!
Looking forward to mothers group now as there are lots more babies Rory's age. There are twins now too eeeep! The thing that bugs me is when the mothers dont supervise the older siblings they bring along! Last week a 5 year old boy was jamming Rorys fingers in the baby cubby house, the mother saw and did nothing! Arrghhh!
Oh and we are booking our holiday to Bali on Saturday, only staying 5 nights but we got a fantastic deal!
Happy birthday Cally!!!!!!!!! Thanx for the jaffa muffin recipe too hon! Between both BIL's, my mum, DH and me they lasted hmmmm 1 day!!! Im addicted!
Katie - What a fantastic idea! Whoa very creative ;) I bet Lewis is having a ball. Im too much of a anal anne to do something like that haha. I need a kick up the bum! We are in the process of child proofing now, we just bought some wooden barriers to block the steps and kitchen. The plastic/metal ones were $90 PLUS so I got the cheapo ones for $25 but they dont have a gate.
Welcome Suzie! Looking forward to getting to know you and Georgie better (lovely name btw)
Pregpan - I thought it was a computer-life term haha, like 'iykwim' LOL! They are at a great stage arent they! I love it! It seems they are learning something new every day. Have you booked your Christmas Holiday????
Clare - italian playgroup, that sounds awesome!! Hope you have a great day!
Noni - Im still so excited for you ;) I would so help you with the packing if I lived by you! I love packing and sorting, its so cleansing! I threw so much away when we moved a few years ago!! You were signing the lease today werent you?? Dont worry about Asha's bottles, Rory has gone through that stage too so has Maddie.
Sherie - Awwwww I wish I could see! I cant get over how active A is! Rory comando crawls everywhere and occasionally pulls himself up onto his knees.
Leanne - So glad Jordy is better. You brought a smile to my face when I read your post. You can relax now! How is DH feeling about his op??
Hayley - Pooor Maddie! How is she today? I cant even imagine how you must of felt taking her up to the hospital :( Hope your okay xxx What porridge do you give Maddie??
MD - Happy Birthday to H!!!!!!! Was her party this weekend???? I bet she is going to have a ball
_________________________________
Oh god! I was vaccuming and Rory was next to me as he likes to chase the vaccum (I cant remember if thats how you spell vaccum!!!!!!) around. I dont know how but I managed to knock my beautiful purple vase off the entertainment unit and it missed Rory's head by mm! Glass went everywhere and do you know what I said.....'dont move Rory', I must have rocks for brains!! Between that and his fat lip from face planting it into the carpet when playing with his Uncle I feel awful!!!!!!!!!
Ahhh I dont know what to do, Maddie just wont stop coughing. Its worse at night. She has been having coughing fits and just cant seem to stop. Last night was a shocker and tonight wont be much better, I can hear her coughing away now. Poor things throat must be red raw as she wont take a bottle or food without a dose of panadol first. Its a very nasty bug this one, I am sick now too, my whole body aches & I feel like I have no energy at all. I cant even run my fingers through my hair because it hurts!! I tell was struggling big time with looking after Maddie today - I feel very naughty because it was pretty much a tv day, with Hi 5 on repeat all day. I rarely use the tv so feeling a bit guilty. Ahhh mothers guilt does it ever end!?
Renee - There are a couple of older kids at my mothers group too and they seem to be a little outta control, with no limits from mum. I wonder where the discipline is too, but maybe we will be in the same boat when our littlies are older. Maybe sometimes you just give up and let a few things slide? I dont know lol.
Clare - Italian playgroup sounds wonderful, I dont think we have anything like that in Perth. I'll ask my DP, he would love for Maddie to have a bit more Italian influence in her life.
Cally - Happy birthday hope you got spoilt rotten! Oooh cant wait for you to open your pressie, how sweet is your DH!?
Katie- Love the painting wrapping paper idea! You should wrap pressies for the grandparents in it too, they would love it.
Suzie - Welcome! Yes we've had a few nights of crying and wondering what is it thats upsetting her, only for a tooth to appear the next morning. It all makes sense then doesnt it.
Noni - They do put a notice on the door but seeing as Maddie is only there two days we would have missed it anyway. Ah well what can you do, at least we know what it is now. Bet you are excited about moving, what does your dad think? Is he sad to know that you guys will be going and taking Asha (obviously lol)?
Pregpan - We are going through the nice stage with Maddie lately too. They love being nakie dont they!
happy birthday cally!!! sorry i didnt post that earlier..
haley - i dnt know how he feels about it i think he might regret not spending much time with her despite living in the same house coz now we will be a few suburbs away n living in the same house we hardly spend any time together.. its kinda sad.. about tmw i am really nervous the forever pesimist in me wont feel safe until the lease is signed and the keys are in my hand!!
just a quickie to say a big hello to Suzie!!! welcome to the group!! we chat alot so jump in anytime!
and also to MM: hold strong sweetie. this must be really tough for you. i can only imagine. i remember the mad dashes to the hospy with Leila. feeling like a bad mum is, i think, par for the course at times! and remember if there's doubt, there's no doubt. if you think she should see a dr or go to hospy, just go. they would much rather laugh about us anxious mummies then have us not go and have sick bubs at home...(at least that's what they told us the hospy where we had leila).
goodnight to everyone else who is doing the midnight trawl! i'm off to bed!
Awwwww Hayley, don't feel bad - when you are both sick you just have to get through it the best you can. Its hard, but no one will hold it against you for having a jammy and Hi-5 day ;) When she is coughing, as hard as it is for you to hear her so worked up, she needs to cough to get all the plhegm off her chest and ease some of her congestion. If you are up to it, give her back rubs while she is coughing and even rub some vicks into it.
Noni, everything will be FINE!!!! You will get the keys and you will move in without a hitch. Maybe your dad wont appreciate what he had till you've moved out?
Renee, don't worry about it - I would be a bundle of grey hairs if I worried too much about stuff that I've accidentally done to the kids when they were babies LOL. Like this morning for example, I was rushing around getting the older two ready for school and Alister will just crawl after me, trying to grab my dressing gown as I go past, well today he grabbed it, but I was moving too fast and I bowled him clean over. And then there are the times when he plays with the vacuum as I'm using it and I knock him over with it LOL.
Katie, we've got ordinary weather here today too, but we really need it now - things are looking very worrying again this year.
Cally, you are made of stronger stuff than I - I wouldn't be able to wait to unwrap a pressie LOL Do you have an idea what it is?
I am off to Wagga tomorrow with Lindsay for another appointment with his opthamologist (just a check up and hopefully a weaker prescription for him) and SHOPPING!!!!! I have been saving for ages so I can hit the sales LOL. They are all doing them early this year too.
Hi Girls,
renee- DH is feeling ok about the op.
Sherie- Have fun shopping and hope L appointment goes well.
Hi Suzie and welcome
HAPPY BIRTHDAY FOR YESTERDAY CALLY
AND HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MD H
Hayley- Poor Maddie  hope she gets better soon.
Morning everyone
Hayley - your poor sausage. I hope you're both feeling better today. Have you raised one end of Maddy's cot at all? Sometimes that can help with the coughing. I wouldn't worry about the tv time. Kids learn alot from watching tv - and most of the kids shows are education these days.
Sherie - i'm loving your new av. Sexy mumma!!!
Suzie - hi and welcome :) looking forward to sharing this adventurous journey with you!!
hi to all of you other lovelies as well
w
Hi J :) I love it too - looks nothing at all like me ( I have short brown hair and brown eyes for a start LOL) but I'm more excited that I found a Pink Floyd-esque T-Shirt LMAO.
oh i didnt even realise it was a pink floyde t shirt.. it is a sexy av though!!!
oh god i am sooo anxious right now lol ive got about 20mins till my mum gets here to take me to the place eeep.. ive packed my keyring from ashas photo shoot lol i havnt used it yet but i will today hehehehehe..
Noni - Ashas keyring will bring you good luck im sure ;)
Sherie - Lol I thought you must of grown your hair out! Love the t-shirt haha. Have fun shopping you lucky duck!
Hayley - Gosh poor Maddie :( I hope your doing okay too, I cant imagine what it would be like to feel awful and look after a sick bubba! I hope it clears up soon hon and you get a well deserved rest! Oh btw I put Rory infront of the TV in his beanbag for 1/2 after his bath so I can get dinner ready without worrying where he is! Thank god for 24 hr cartoons on foxtel haha.
Hi JazMum - How are the girls going?? Are they getting through without Chloe?? Must of been so hard on them.
I got about 7 calls on my mobile last night after 10:00! Each time they asked for John, I dont know how many times I had to tell them I wasnt JOHN and I dont know JOHN!!!!!!!! Arghhhh, they didnt believe me though! They were drunk or something because they were ranting and raving. They called a few times Tuesday night too. Its quite scarey really. Its a private call so I cant report it either :(
Had a tough night with Rory (I jinxed myself). He refused to go to bed! He only went down at 10:00 and even then he woke 3 times during the night. Dont know whats up with him. He has got 4 teeth is he due any more at his age??
What size clothes and nappies are our bubs in??
Noni, LOL at you having a keyring ready - the last thing you need is to worry about losing it.
Renee, They will have teeth come at any age from here on in really. I would have been so annoyed at "John's" mate calling all the time. I guess the stupid bugger didn't have his number in speed dial LOL. As for clothes, Alister is still in 0's for separates, but they are getting shorter on him now - they all sit just above his ankle now so I think I will *just* get the winter out of them if I'm lucky. Lucky for me he is skinny so they tend to sit lower on his hips too. His jumpers are getting a bit short in the arms too. I have been using sz1 wondersuits and singlets for ages now, and sz 1 bodysuits. Nappies he is still only in toddler ones - haven't had any leaks at all with them so not in a hurry to change them cause you drop down from 90 to 72 in a box then.
Thanks for the birthday wishes everyone. DH gave me an electronic photo frame, so we can have different photos of K up. It also plays music. So now I have to trawl through all our photos to pick out my favourites - which I was meaning to do anyway to put into an album.
Renee - K is in 0 clothes and crawler nappies. This week she was just under 9 kg and 70cm long. I already find that there is a difference in sizes, she is almost out of the KMart brand, but the Sprout stuff still has heaps of space, I have to fold up the arms.
Noni - I'm sure today will go fine, but I have everything crossed for you anyway!
MM - poor little Maddie. Don't worry about heading back to the hospy or doctor if you're worried, I would.
Trillian - happy shopping!!
Well we had two failed attempts at a morning sleep. I resorted to driving her to sleep. I don't even want to think about how much it cost, but at least I finally have some time to myself this morning! She's getting sick, has a runny nose so I don't think that's helping but she was almost hysterical in her cot and when I picked her up. There was no way she was going to calm down which made me think she was really sick - and then I carried her out of her room and she was all smiles. So she is sick - but also very cheeky!!
I'm thinking of getting MIL one of those for her birthday too Cally.
The sprout stuff is really good for sizing isn't it? I have a sprout zip front jacket for him in a 0 and it fits just perfectly and I can put it over his jumpers when it is really cold.
I went on a big winter clothes shop for Rory (a month or so before winter) and assumed he would be in size 00. Winter is here and his head hardly fits through some of his jumpers and some of his pants look like 3/4 pants haha. I spent a fortune too! All well he got a fair bit of wear out of them! Ive started buying 0's and they fit quite well, although I do have to fold the arms and legs up on some.
Who would of thought a 9 3oz baby would grow up so small. He is the smallest baby in mothersgroup! I really need to get him weighed! I have been so slack! After almost 2 weeks of trying to make an appointment the MCHN could only book him in for his 8 month appoiment on the 30th July when he is almost 10 months!!!!
Oops no wonder he is leaking! He is still in crawler nappies! Just last week I bought a pack of infant huggies nappies opened them and realised what I had done! Any ideas on what I should do with them? Does anyone want or know anyone who needs infant nappies??
Cally - katie sounds just like Rory atm! We tried and tried to get him to sleep last night but he was just too upset. In the end we gave up and brought him out into the lounge and he was full of smiles.
Renee, Paige was a bug bubba at 9lb8.5 and she was only ever very slim - still is. She's lucky to weigh 15kg dripping wet LOL. Some women grow great size babies in the womb, but once they are born they grow how they are meant to grow. I did buy a set back in March that was a 00 because the top was really big, but the pants weren't all that long at all, so he has worn the top heaps, but the pants were hardly worn at all.
With the nappies, do a post to see if any other Perth girls need them?
ETA - I forgot to say just to take him to a chemist to weigh him. I haven't been to the MCHN since he was 6mths old and I just pop into the chemist when I think to do it. I measure his length myself - I have a tape measure I lay him on and do it that way.
Trillian - we have a Sprout zip jacket too, it's pink and green and it's so handy! And she looks gorgeous in it.
Happy Birthday for yesterday Cally. Those frames are a great idea.
We're in 00 and 0 clothes here too. The 0's are a bit big, but she'll grow into them. ;)
Cally- Lu is exactly the same when she is sick, cries and fusses in her cot but when i pick her up she smiles and laughs at me! cheeky monkey.
Rennee- Bummer on the winter clothes. You'll have to plan your next baby so they fit them! Your MCHN is busy, bummer. Sounds like they need another staff member. I would have been mad at the random caller too, what a bummer the number is private. Next time he rings say you could ask for his number and when you see John you'll get him to call! lol. No don't do that really, you might encourage him. :o
Trillian- Have a great day shopping, all the sales are on, i got a couple of things in town today, not that i needed anything, just too good a bargain to resist! Not sure if you saw a post i edited, was a bit slow and you had already posted! I saw on a current affairs program about goats milk soap being good for eczema. A mum had a little boy with eczema and found it really helped, so now she milks goatss and makes the soap. My friend has psoriasis and she finds it helps her too. Might be worth a shot.
Noni- how'd you go today?
Lu has started to play peek-a-boo with me, she covers her eyes with her hands and then drops her hands in excitement waiting for me to say boo, so cute.
DH finally finished sowing, so will be home in the evenings, yippeeeee. Maybe we can even think about TTC......... or maybe i'm just mad! :p
Hi all, sorry have been MIA, busy with the double birthday and bedroom "makeovers" LOL!
Cally, a belated but most sincere wish for a HAPPY BIRTHDAY and a very happy year to come as well! How many candles on the birthday cake this year?
MM, don't beat yourself up, just rest up and do what you can to make M comfy, that's all we can ever do.
Noni, congrats hun, I had a very lucky feeling for you, I was so sure this was going to be your week!
Sherie, I'm jealous of your shopping, I have time and proximity to shops but no liquid cash flow (I've got the double birthday to thank for that). It's the same every June *stamps foot* - by the time my finances recover it's July and all the good bargains have been snapped up already! LOL Gonna try to get some Sprout stuff for E for next year cos I noticed it was heavily marked down at Myer.
E has been in Os lately, they fit well but a big long in the leg (she has DH's short stumpy legs). She's been falling over a lot lately (from standing) because she's added to her repertoire of holding on with one hand - she now stands on one leg while only holding on with one hand - OMG she's fallen over that many times! Two legs & one hand OR one leg and two hands, Missy TooLongSmartiepants!
Ange, I remember you from very early on in our thread (I've been reading back over our early posts). Is your DH a farmer?
Renee, you could approach a women's shelter and give them the nappies, I'm sure they are always in need of stuff like that.
Clare I cracked right up when I read you got Kevvie and Miz Reine's boxes! LOL That's the funny thing about living in Canberra, I had an extended conversation one day about what type of Turkish Delight Janette used to have delivered on a regular basis ROFL.
Suzie, welcome to our little thread family. Full sympathy on the sleep deprival, we had a really rough patch back in April, I could hardly function. We're off to sleep school in about ten days, have you thought about doing something like that?
Aaah was going to say something else, has completely slipped thru my brain. V tired tonight!
((hugs)) to everyone and a special shout out to Pregpan - thanks so much for that recipe, will give it a shot over the weekend.
Hi everyone, BIL is visiting and he is camped out studying at the table most of the time so I haven't had much access to the computer.
MD, hope the double birthday went well. How did H like her new room?
Cally, Happy (belated) Birthday, we have one of those frames and it is really cool, especially when you put really old photos in amongst it - you are just sitting doing your thing and you look up and get a blast from the past.
Hayley, I reallllly hope Maddie is getting better
Renee, W is in 0's at the moment, the pants still have leg room but sit too low on his waist and the tops don't come down far enough so he has a gap where his clothes don't meet that makes him look poor LOL. I am planning to go shopping next week and will get him size 1's. He is in walker nappies now. DH got a pack of infant size about a month ago, they are just sitting in the back room because I don't know what to do with them.
Ange, W plays peek-a-boo with towels and curtains, it is so adorable
Suzi, welcome, glad to see you made it over here. Don't worry if you can't keep up with personals, we are very chatty, just pop in whenever.
Leanne, soooo glad Jordy is more regular. Will this train his bowel or will he always need the movical (sp)?
Noni, good luck with the moving
Someone asked about milk? I give W cows milk in a sipper cup sometimes. I think it is o.k as long as it isn't replacing a meal. He likes it. DH tried to give him formula in a sipper cup and he spat it out (I was secretly pleased LOL).
Will seems to have worked out steps without me doing anything. Yesterday at playcentre we were going up onto the fort and usually I hold both hands and swing him up onto each step but I had him lined up and he lifted his foot up onto the next step himself. I am amazed at how quickly they learn! He also walked by himself a bit there yesterday, he is getting more confident.
A bad night here, not sure why but he was back to hourly wake ups.
Morning Girls,
Art- ATM he has to have the movicol till we go back to see Dr on 8th July. I hope
you have a better night tonight
MD- How does the room look. I bet it looks wonderful.
Hayley- How is Maddie?
Falguni- How cute Lu playing peek a boo.
Renee- Bummer on the winter cloths. Maybe you could keep them for the next baby.
Olivia is in O's and 1's.
Noni- Are you in your house
All good here. Not doing much this weekend babysitting my cousins boys ( 4 & 6)on saturday night they are having a sleep over so I will have 4 boys and Olivia.
Hello to all and have a wonderful day
hey everyone :)sorry i havnt been on much things are very hectic here!
we got the keys yesterday and spent the day cleaning and buying things lol.. they told us the house had been professionally cleaned but im not convinced.. yesterday was the first time dp had even seen inside the house lol and hed only seen the outside from a picture lol luckily he likes it.. not much not to like really.. well except it kinda stinks atm lol i think the last tenants had ferrets or something inside? yuk lol weve disinfected the whole floor and left an open bottle of dissinfectant in there what it really needs is a good air out but we havnt been there long enough to do it yet.. oh well.. that and we connected the electricity and alot of things arent working lol the joys of it all, the stove top the rangehood the smoke alarm (which is some bizare set up connected to electricity) and the door bell lol all not working think its a fuse problem so have to call them bout it today ughh..
we are really happy though all just minor hiccups because we dont actually move in till sat and everything else works there is electricity and the oven works and we have a microwave so all will be good till they fix it all up.. just excited to have our own place its gonna be so different just the three of us lol we will be sooo broke but it will be good to finally just do our own thing!!
more shopping today and moving boxes we can without a truck.. dp is back at work today (had most of the day off yesterday) so its just me and my mum..
hope everyone is doing well sorry i g2g because my mums gonna be here soonish and we are no where near ready oops..
Marydean- Yep, that's me. I disappeared for a while, but i'm back! DH is a farmer, yes. He works for a beef cattle company Vic, and we live on one of the farms.
Wow Artechim on your little man walking, WTG. Hourly wake-ups are no fun, i feel for you, that was us last week. The best thing is, it doesn't usually last too many nights. Lu slept from 7.30 until 7am with no night feed for the first time EVER last night. She stirred at 3.30 and DH gave her a cuddle and she went back to sleep. I'll prob be back to hourly wakings next week though!
Leemar- 5 kids on Sat night? Wow, that will be busy. i struggle with just one still, sometimes i wonder how on earth i'll manage with more than one.
Noni- when we moved in here it stank too. The last tenant smoked inside and one of the fireplaces smoked. I can high recommend febreeze and nil odour to get rid of smells, oh and bicarb in a little container works wonders too. How exciting for you, your own pad!
Not alot on today, thought i might try and sew something.....
Noni- I am so excited for you DP & Asha. Bummer on it not being clean.
Ange- Usually when my cousins kids come over its really crazy for about the first
hour. (we think cause they are excited to see each other) then it usually calms down well sort off...lol... Good luck with the sewing...
Falguni - Congrats on L's sleep through! LOL I know what you mean! I wonder how I could cope with another one! And the crazy thing is Rory is the easiest baby!
Did any of the other mums think that when they were trying for their 2nd?? Im hoping that when your ready for a 2nd everything just feels right and it all fits into place iykwim??
Noni - ooooo so exciting! Im so happy for you :) Buy a couple of those plug in ai-fresheners or maybe treat yourself to some dusk candles mmmmmm!! Have you got your house key on your asha keyring?
Leemar - Jesus woman! Your amazing ;) Have a great weekend xxx Hiope Jordy is still doing well
Art - WOW @ W walking! I knew it wouldnt be far along, he is such a little mover and shaker haha. How long is your BIL staying for?? Got any family day outs planned??
MD - YAY @ surviving the double birthdays LOL! OOOO I would love to see how H's room turned out, I bet you did an amazing job! Have a great we!
Hayley - Thinking of you hun! How is Maddie today??
We are booking our holiday on Sat and my BIL and his girlfriend/my bf (yep the ones that set up) are coming with us!!! They are perfect together! So excited I could wet myself!
Better run, i have to gte Rory ready for playgroup. He has just woken up and he is talking away in his room, having a complete conversation to himself with hand movements n all and laughing like dr evil haha. I swear if he could talk he would sound like Stewie off the family guy, planning to take over the world hah!
hi everyone
Renee - you're a hoot!!!!That does sound very exciting though. Way to go on your brilliant set-up. I hope they have a long and happy life together :) re trying for a second - I didn't feel quite ready when we started trying. Dh wanted our bubs to be close in age - but i was thinking 'omg! how am i going to cope'. Everything just fell into place when Z was born. I'm so glad that i listened to dh. :)
noni - i'm so happy for you guys. You won't know yourselves!!! I hope you can get rid of the smell really quickly.
re clothes size - my little Hannah is still in 00s and doesn't seem like she's going to fit into 0's anytime soon. She's so tiny, and so many people comment on it. I wasn't worried at first, but now i'm starting to get a little concerned. We might make an appointment at the Clinic.
What is a typical day like for bubbas' in terms of what they eat? This is often what Hannah has...
7ish half a weetbix mixed with formula for brekky and then boobiejuice.
11 ish vegemite sandwich and some fruit followed by boobiejuice
3 ish meat and vegies - about 3 ice cubes and bj
7 boobie juice.
She often wakes once or twice through the night and has more bj. She also has some arrowroot biscuits as a snack between meals.
Jaz, our day is like this (give or take):
7 boobie
7:45 1/2 weetbix (or porridge) plus fruit
10:30 boobie
12 vegies & fruit
1 boobie
4 boobie
5:45 dinner (casserole or something) plus fruit / yogurt / vegies
6:45 boobie
We don't really do snacks though, I figure we'll stick with milk for morning and afternoon tea, when she is a bit older we will do some more fruit or something if she loses interest in milk. No overnight feeding here anymore, she started sleeping through by herself and now if she wakes I resettle and it takes less than 5 minutes. Her lunch and dinner is 4 icecubes and then extra for yogurt or finger food fruit and veg.
Noni - wow, you must be so excited to have your own place now! Good luck with all the packing and the big move tomorrow.
Renee - lucky you having a holiday! Shall we call you cupid now?:loveshower:
Leanne - good luck with all the kiddies tomorrow night!
I finally bought some safety gates today - so now we can keep K in the family room / kitchen and she can't escape. The other day she was sitting quietly in our room reading gardening magazines from under my bedside table!
Jaz
This is our routine:
8:00 - bottle
10:00 - 2 x wheetbix
12:00/1:00 - bottle
2:00 - yogurt & maybe some fruit
5:00/6:00 - 6 or 7 ice cubes of pumpkin, sweet potato, potato etc & heinz custard for sweets
7:30 - bottle
Cally - Baby gates are the best!!!
Arte, H loves her room. We surprised her yesterday when she got home from school, she was sooo delighted. It was a bit different to what she asked for but she was pretty chuffed and approved of the theme I'd done so all good there. Go Will on the steps! although they say it's easier to go up but you really have to teach them how to go down (so they don't go face first LOL).
OMG ROUTINES??!!! LOL well ours sort of goes something like this (very bendy):
8.00ish Booby
9.15 (home from school drop off LOL) 1 1/2 weetbix with some fruit & ricemilk
11.00 ish Booby (or a small jar when she's at FDC)
1.30 lunch - 3 -4 cubes of meat, veggies, followed by 1/2 snack cup of fruit, yoghurt etc
(sometimes she has fewer cubes and has finger food practice instead)
3.30ish booby
6.00 dinner - 4 cubes, followed by 1/2 snack cup of fruit, yoghurt etc
7.00 or 7.30 Booby
Oh and the occasional rusk thrown in for entertainment from time to time as well!
Noni, good luck with the big move! We've had a few stinky carpets and always do them with the carpet cleaners that you hire from the shops and that has always sorted it out. I wish I was closer, I would send my DH round to help carry stuff on moving day!
Cally how are you finding life with the safety gates? They're great aren't they! H has one across the door to her room so she can have all her lego and barbie shoes and stuff out on the floor and E can't get in and choke on them! I just want one across my kitchen but no joy, the pantry opens right where the gate would go.
Leanne, enjoy the sleepover LOL! Four boys! Make sure you don't give them any red cordial LOL. We'll be doing a sleepover too, I'll think of you when I get up at midnight to shoosh them all down!
Looks like Sherie's not back from her big day of shopping yet! I layby'ed some nice fluffy towels today and thought of you going hog wild at the sales LOL. I'll be straight out of the door on payday to get my new mix master.
Ange, does that mean you eat a lot of beef? LOL. I nearly bought a sheep one time, the plan was we were each going to buy a sheep and then they'd live on our friend's block and we'd eat the lambies when it was time...they decided to emigrate to NZ instead and we're left with no roast lamb! LOL
LOL Marydean, I"m back! So glad H loved her room and may the force be with you for the party this weekend too ;)
I have not long gotten home actually. Woke up this morning at 12.30am and it was raining quite steadily, woke again at 6.45 and it was still raining steadily - we had 30mm of rain!!!!!!!! So it is bloody wet here I can tell you LOL. Roads were either flooded or washed out here (gravel roads) so it was slow going when I left till I got to the bitumen - thank god for 4WD is all I can say. But on the way home there was one creek that wasn't running yet when we went through this morning but it was by the time we came back through - 30cm of water across the road according to the marker but we got through OK.
Had a huge spend up - spent all but $40 of the money I saved LMAO. I brought the girls some flannie sheets, me a new pillow, a Esprit towel for the kids each (half price at $14.95 each) which I am putting away for Christmas, but I will get their names embroidered on them; clothes for the kids; work socks for DH and Tim Winton's new book. CALLY - I got a heap of sprout stuff for Alister - some long and short sleeve T's and a Navy cord coat, really thick in a sz2 for next winter for $25 down from $50! I also got other stuff they needed at BigW too.
Lindsays eye check up was OK - not a lot of improvement in his vision since the last visit 6mths ago. He is 20:20 in his right eye, but his left eye isn't quite up to that level yet. So we have to do the patching still and he has to wear it for 2-4hrs each day and sometimes at school too. We only have till he's 9 to get his vision as good as it's going to get. We got him new glasses though anyway because his are so scratched now. Got those ones that will bend in half and not break LOL, bloody exxie, but the PHI pays for 80% luckily.
Alisters feeding is something like this;
6.45 wake up and bottle
9am brekkie (cereal and fruit)
10.30-11.30 bottle
12-1pm lunch (usually more cereal and fruit or just fruit on its own)
2-3pm bottle
5-6.30pm bottle
8-8.30 bottle
He has a full bowl of food for brekkie and lunch, haven't had any snacks for a while but I may start to introduce a later solid feed and see how it affects his sleep. He's having more than enough in what he has already - he still have 800-900ml of formula in a day plus his solids so he isn't missing out at all by not having dinner.
Hi Girls! sorry that i have been MIA but have been feeling sorry for myself as I am getting braces (oh yeah baby, sexy mumma!!) on tuesday and they have put these seperator thingys in the back teeth and it feels like all my teeth are about to explode!:(
Anyway...on to more exciting things:
Renee: well were are in the little uns boat. leila is still in 00s. she is being outstripped by some of the bubs 2 months younger than her at playgroup. ho hum. but we are pretty tiny, DH is mistaken for a jockey at times!! LOL!
MD: LOL! janette likes turkish delights huh? who would of thunk it?!! yeah having kevvies boxes was a crack up! we have kept one, as it has his writing on it (something about office desk contents).
oh and good luck for the big party on the week end...glad DD loves the room! congrats on the success  i imagine it cant be easy pleasing a girl in her tweens!! LOL (at least in my case, i think i was terrible!).
Jaz: our day is a bit like this...
6-7am: boobie
7-730: brekky...4 tablespoons of rafferty's with 3 ice cubes of fruit, and vegemite on toast
10.30: yoghurt and a biccie, and boobie
12.30-1.00: lunch...meat and vegies (2 cubes of meat or half tin of tuna with 4 ice-cubes). and sometimes she'll go that again. boobie
2.30: Afternoon tea...arrowroot biccy. yoghurt with fruit, or grated fruit medley (kiwi, pear and apple and some mandarin)
5.30: Dinner: veges with rice cereal and some meat or tofu (tofu and pumpkin patties are current fav!! LOL!), followed by rafferty's cereal with fruit. then some toast.
6.30-7.00: boobie.
Sherie: woo hoo on the rain! no doubt it is needed! luckily you got home alright! always a bit hair raising making those crossings...
ohhh i wish i could go shopping! unfortunately we just kissed $7k away on frikkin' braces so am NOT impressed!
If it's any consolation for poor Lindsay tell him that i had to wear a patch for 12 months all day everyday! i got so sick of explaining it to my friends at school! LOL! WTG on getting the pricey glasses...you have no idea how much more confident you can be with nicer looking glasses! i remember when i got to choose my first pair, i felt soo special (they were BRIGHT purple with hypercolour splotches all over them....eewwwww! what was i thinking????).
Cally: wtg on the baby gates! we love them! we bought them before Leila arrived as we had to keep stella in the kitchen at night as a pup (toilet training joys). and now it is being well used for leila! we also have one of those wooden barrier ones without a gate as one doorway is ridiculously narrow...
Renee: IKWYM about coping with more than one! i look at mums with their 2 or more kiddies and i just feel like going up to them and going: 'how do you do it???', can you teach me some tips....PLEEEAASSSEEE!! but then i would look like a psycho...
Falguni: so jealous that you can sew! i wish i wish i wish!
Arte: WTG with Will! what a mover and a shaker! ohhh they are growing up soo fast! i walk past the Royal womens here in melbourne on my way to uni, so i get to see all these lovely pregnant bellies and newborns, and its just so cool! i wanna go up to the pg women and tell them how lucky they are! i LOVED being pregnant! i reckon it was one of the few times that i felt really womanly IYKWIM?
Noni: glad to hear that the moving is going well. and yeah, having your own space is priceless!
anyway best go as this raged outta control (as per usual!)...
Hello mummies, I am so happy to say that Madeline seems to be on the mend. Today she woke with a smile and had a very happy day full of laughing and games. Thank god because I was beginning to get very worried. Its just the lingering cough through the night now and the fact sheet from the hospital said it could last a few weeks. I also feel a tad better, but still not 100%. I could at least muster the energy today to actually play with Madeline. Cold & flu tablets are great thats all I can say!
Due to my muddled up mind the past few days, I just realised last night while lying in bed that I'd given Maddie PEANUT butter on toast for the past couple of days. Whoops! lol. She was fine though.
Noni - So tomorrow is moving day, good luck! I'm sure you will be fine financially, you'll get into the swing of things. Its all about budgeting and sticking to it. It'll be great for you guys to have some independence and your own place! Woo hoo!
Renee - LMAO at Rory and his conversations to himself, thats so darn cute. Wow lucky you going to Bali. Where are you staying? We are also considering Bali for early next year, as a friend of ours has built a villa over there and has asked us to come over. So free accomodation! Would be mad to turn that down right!? Thats great that your little matchmaking set up worked out!
Trillian - Sprout clothing is so nice and good quality. Lucky Alister. Well the rain is good news for the farm! You have reminded me I must get some flannie cot sheets tomorrow.
MD - Well done on the bedroom decoration. Wish I was artistic!
Leemar - Good luck with the sleepover you brave woman hehe.
Arte - OMG Will is so advanced for his age! I'm sure I read somewhere that kids dont take stairs until closer to 18 mths - 2 yrs! I use milk in Maddie's cooking, I havent given it to her as a drink but I'm sure it's not going to do any harm. How did you get Will started on the sippy cup as we are having no luck.
Cally - Those electronic frames are such a great idea. How is K, is she still a bit sick?
Falguni - Aww the peek a boo game sounds cute. Doesnt take them long to learn does it.
Re sizing and nappies, we are in 0's and toddler nappies now. I just switched her to toddlers last week as I noticed the crawlers were getting a bit tight. I dont know if I've got a dody pack though because it seems like half an hr after a nappy change the wee is making her pants damp - its not even like a leak in one spot, its like the lining is faulty iykwim!?
Our routine:
8am Bottle
10am (9ish on daycare days) 1 weetbix with formula milk
12pm Bottle
1/2pm Toast/Sandwich/Finger food of some sort
Shortly after another bottle
4/5pm Dinner (vege/chicken/beef) I try to do it no later than 5 to give dinner time to settle in her tummy.
6.30 Bottle and I have gotten into the bad habit of feeding to sleep!!! Naughty me.
However due to the past week it has only been today that she has been back on this routine with food. It has been hard to get food into her this past week but thats usual when they are sick.
