thanks JaZmum and Cassius2, yea we might just actually hire a local community centre and bring in food.... as renting an indoor playground is not very practical as most kids we know are less than 1 year old...

hey there everyone just a quick one as i am dead tired!! feeling really weird hope it is just the fact i am run down.. not really ready for another bub yet...
dr said asha is fine.. spose its teeth or something... no idea but its wearing me out
Just a quick one from me, I had every intention of sitting down and catching up but time has gotten away from me once again.
Hi to Kate and Nina.
Re parties we are going out to lunch since my family will be visiting and the following weekend we are having a BBQ with friends. We were going to hire a hall but thought it was to much work lol. We had a joint 1st birthday last Sunday with our friends from antenatal class, it was lovely.
Logan has been sleeping really well lately, not waking and sleeping in until 7am. I am a very happy mumma but don't want to jinx it. He is also eating really well, all in all I am very happy. Had him weighed today and he is 10kg. His feet are 11.5cm, mind you I could hardly hold his foot still so who knows what they really are lol.
Anyway I started this post about 40 min ago and must really get to bed. I promise to catch up properly tomorrow.
Hi there Kate!! Great to hear from you again.
Oz - What a good boy Logan is sleeping through the night. Wonderful that you are happy too :)
noni - i hope you're feeling better soon. I'm glad that Asha doesn't have anything nasty.
Jess lost her first tooth tonight.:( I'm feeling quite sad because it's a sign that she is growing up. Anyway, now i'm searching for free printable tooth fairy letters etc. She's put her tooth in a little container under her pillow, so i'm going to find a bit of glitter and sprinkle it on her sheets (the tiniest amount ;) ) and put the letter and a couple of gold coins. It's so exciting creating special memories:)
Oh far out didnt realise the phenergan was for over the age of two, so we wont be going with that silly idea at all. I didnt really like the idea of 'drugging' her up. I think she will be fine, I'll give her a bottle on the way up and way down & she should sleep for a bit seeing as its her normal sleep time. Apart from that if we have to pace up and down the plane with her, big deal. She is pretty easy going so I'm sure she'll be ok.
Jazmum - Aw thats such a sweet idea! I remember my mum doing that for me and believing it was the tooth fairy. Cant wait to do that stuff with M.
Katie - Ooh I am jealous of that sleep!
Noni - Hang in there. Maybe you need some iron? Glad Asha is ok.
Nina - WOW I just noticed you are onto bub number 2, congrats. How exciting! Why dont you keep the bday low key and just have something small at your place for close friends and family?
Pregpan - This is the first time M has ever had red meat, so dont stress about N lol. I'll try the breadcrumbs next time thanks for that tip.
MD - Aww sounds like DD1 just wanted to be with mummy. Did she have a headache?
Well I lay byed the pink smart trike for chrissy or her birthday, not sure yet. I also bought a new FP toy its a set of drums that snaps into a rolling toy, that encourages the baby to crawl after it. Maddie is SO close to crawling so I thought this may help her take that final step. Not to mention it was cheap hehe.
Just a quickie- sorry havn't read anything...
i had shingles not so long ago and it seems they have reappeared. They dont generally treat preggo women unless it is in the eye area, which it is. So i have to take a category B3 drug. Which the royal womans hospital say is fine, but makes me nervous as hell. Off to Opthamologist today, hopefully eye will be clear and maybe i wont have to take the rest of the meds..... fingers crossed anyway!
well another nightmare night here! ive taken to sleeping on the lounge with asha in her bouncer because its the only way i can get atleast a few hours sleep while asha is like this! when she wakes up in the morning then at 6ish and i am dead tired ive been putting her in the portacot infront of the tv ?(which is horrible i know) just so i can get another half hour snooze...
off to my friends place today over where we used to live.. i hate not being a walk up the road from them now because i used to see them all the time and now we miss not having that social thing and the kids miss each other.. i am lucky that another school friend found me and she lives closer to here so i have been seeing her and her little girls a bit which has been good although slightly weird because i used to date her brother and it was a terribly messy break up lol...
ange - oh noo they come back due to stress dont they? understand your nervous but i am sure everything will be fine if the hospital says its fine i am sure it is
madsmum - you could always try rescue remedy(though it does have alcohol in it) but i found on the plane to melbourne asha slept most the time only thing we had to give her was panadol because we had a slow decent on the way home and it hurt her ears.. u just feed them on the way up and down or give a dummy to pop their ears..
jazmum - your so cute!! glitter on the sheets and everything!
katie - congrats on logans sleeping!! u must feel a million bucks!
welcome nina and welcome back kate sorry i didnt say that earlier!
Morning everyone
Ange - you poor thing - that must be so painful!!! I hope you get the all-clear from the Opthamologist today. You definitely don't need this on top of your m/s.
noni - did Asha's disturbed sleep start when you moved, or what is it happening before that?
Well, Jess woke up so excited this morning. I wish i believed in fairies still. (although i do believe in Guardian Angels - they don't leave little gifts under my pillow:rolleyes:)
DH left a bag of white rocks from the guardian from the 'Elephant Fairy". We have a family thing about elephants - we love them!
Poor Hannah has a red raw bottom, and is poohing so much at the moment. I'm thinking it might be some more teeth getting ready to make an entrance.
Wow it was busy in here last night!
H, definately don't give M any phenergan - not at her age. It lays my kids out for hours when I've had to give it to them for bites and stings. It lays me out even. I would look into getting Brauer's Calm for her if you really needed something for the trip. Plus it's not that long a trip either. I did his invites in publisher and then saved as a JPEG so I can print it like a photo. I will post one to the gallery later.
Awww Jaz, I felt the same way when Lindsay and Erin lost their first teeth too :( it is a bit sad isn't it?
Gosh, I just read all the posts and can hardly remember a thing LOL.
We will have Alisters party on the 27th because DH is working on the weekend right after his birthday. It will just be a BBQ, but now that all of our friends have had babies over the years there will be more kids there than there was when we did the older kids 1st parties.
Bugger, just wrote a massive post and lost it.
William slept from 11pm - 5am last night, then he wanted to get up so DH played with him for an hour and then he came back to bed and we slept in until 9am! It was fantastic, the best night we have had since December!
For anyone still looking for birthday toy ideas I can't reccommend the ball pit highly enough. Apart from W sitting in it, I turn it upside down and put it on my head and W comes under too and gives me cuddles. I also put it on his head and he sits there peeping with excitement until I 'find' him lol. His new thing to do is to stand up when it is on him and walk around with it hitched over his head. The other thing he is really liking is a shape sorter (although I have to quickly rotate it to match the peice he is holding so he can put it in lol)
Sorry for the lack of personals, don't have time to write it all out again.
hi everyone
MM - it sounds like M will be OK on the plane... and if she isnt, well it is only 10 hours or so right!!!????? for me, i think i would prefer to put up with the bad time than give him drugs, but that's before i have done a REALLY long flight and while he is ok with flying (hey, he does it every fortnight or so these days...) When are you going again? if it is after i go to bali i will share any tips i have with you then!
Sherie - sounds like a fun BBQ planned for A - it must be great now most of your friends have kids too. I guess I better get planning for N's bday - i think we will do a party/bbq at home for him here in Canberra and then a BBQ in melbs as well. we were doing a joint one with my nephew in melb but it was getting massive and out of hand, so we canned that idea for now. i want anything to be more about N - so stuff he will enjoy - not 100 adults handling him!!! plus it woul dbe weird for me to have a massive party in melbs when i dont live there anymore...
Noni - are you feeling any better today? maybe it is iron - i remember you were v low in preg... i have had to go back on my supplements as well and that has helped me feel a lot better. I hope A starts sleepingbetter for you soon - do yuo think she has to take a while to get used to your new house? how are things with DP?
Kate - GREAT to see you back and Sarah sounds lovely. N is also not crawling, and i'd say he is a long way off.
Nina - wow not long to go foryour 2nd little man!!! how exciting. how are you feeling about having the 2 of them?
Rainy - how are you???
Agnes - ooh shingles sounds awful and to deal with that while preg, id ont envy you. i hope your appt goes well
MD - how was miss E last night?
Clare - how is the tonsilitis? i hope you dont have to go more ABs. are you taking aprobiotic as well?
well not a lot of news here... N is going thrugh a totally delicious period again, he is SO happy when i pick him up from FDC... kissingme, giggling and chatting away. lots of MAMA and DADA happening - now teaching him home, bye and more... may regret MORE ha ha ha!! his sleeping is a lot better bu tnot great - he still has 1 onight feed as well as a morning one and feed to sleep. i am starting to do a bottle before bed - i think i need to wean him (no AF back and getting CLOSE to wanting to TTC) so i am doing that gradually. he seems to have adjusted fine to it (sob sob). he has a new friend at FDC a boy about a month older - he is there mon-wed so it is nice for him to have a baby to play with. on thu he gets his carer all to himself until after school - lucky boy!
am trying to make some new foods for him - will do bolognaise sauce today for us all and also may make some more chicken patties for him, he loved them soooo much! he has been having his salnmon patties every day and loving them for lunch. he also has a real penchant for mushrooms at the moment so i have been cooking a portabella mushy in butter and garlic or grilling with cheese each evening for him and he wolfs it down. a kid liking muchrooms??? wonders will never cease! i am so looking fwd to all 3 of us together tomorrow and all weekend, DH and I have date night this sat!!
OMG JAZAH I just remembered I FORGOT THE TOOTH FOR THE SECOND NIGHT IN A ROW!!! :wall: OMG Tooth fairy: you are soooooooo sacked. It fell out at school 2 days ago and yesterday morning DD1 said, "The tooth fairy didn't come last night" and I nearly swore right then and there and now I forgot a second time. AAAAAH Bad Mummy MD!!!
ETA - Arte where did you get the ball pit? Anyone else got one?
Just had to tell you all about the aaaaw moment we had yesterday. I told DH to ring a little earlier so he could talk to DD1, then we put him on speaker phone and E got this delighted look on her face, pointed straight at the phone and said, clear as a bell, "Daddddeeeeeeee"! PRICELESS!!
I wonder if if matters if the toothfairy comes during the day while you're at school?
Marydean, the tooth fairy is a bit slack here too LMAO! I just told the kids that she must have been super busy, but Lindsay is clued up to whats going on so there's no fooling him LOL. Erin brought it though ;) How cute at E knowing when her Daddy is on the phone.
Pregpan, Alister is getting good at 'see-ya' now when he waves too. Oooohhh at your nearly being ready to TTC again!
Wow Arte, you had a great night with Will last night. Fingers crossed he gives you another one tonight.
OK, I just finished getting stuff for Erin's party bags and I have for each of them 1 pencil with heart eraser on top, 1 note pad, 1 stamp, 1 butterfly folding fan 1 balloon, 1 mini cookie cutter, 1 mini tub play doh, 1 mini paint set (OMG these are so cute!). No lollies at all. I just hope it all fits in the bags I got LMAO. I will do lolly bags for Alisters party though for the few kids that are there because they will be mixed ages and harder to do a bag for like I did Erin's, whereas her guests will all be 5 and 6yo girls LOL.
OK, have uploaded Alister's and Erin's invites and Paige's strawberry shortcake cake. https://www.bellybelly.com.au/forums...ry.php?cat=540
sherie - the invites look fantastic. That's my job for tonight - to make the girls invites. They are having a joint party, but i think i'll do separate invitations for them.
md - naughty toothfairy!! I'm guessing that it isn't H's first tooth? Maybe you can tell her that she had to visit Brisbane last night - for a little girl who just lost her first. ;)
Hi Girls!
Glad to see the chatter in full steam!
Ange: big  to you! i hope the shingles clear soon. there's no need for extra stressing about health stuff! it must be the season for bugs and viruses. everyone seems to be coming down with stuff ATM.
Noni: i am really sorry to hear that Asha is having difficult nights. was she like this before the move?
MD: awwwwww, that is so cute of E! ha ha bad tooth fairy...tell your DD that the tooth fairy has a backlog and got stuck doing her taxes! LOL!
I bought L's ball pit from Kmart for $20. she loves it.
Sherie: wow that cake looks awesome. i am hoping to inflict my baked goods on the guests too, but i have a feeling it will be a disaster. i just cannae do it.
Pregpan: i second sherie's 'ooohhhh!' on the TTC. sounds like a plan is in place!
and no, i am not taking any supplements. my bad. will have to though as i have just finished the round of abs and tonsilitis feels like it is coming back into full swing. and now i am getting worried as the weight loss is becoming rather scary...my jeans are literally falling off my hips and people are starting to notice...:(
Arte: WTG W on the sleeping. oh to sleep until 9am...i remember the days when that was normal...
Cally: OMG!! Leila LOVES the duke of york song!!! she just goes hysterical. she also loves the hokey pokey and if you're happy and you know it...although she just claps all the time...
AFM: well, still not any better and now one of my ears is aching...oh joy.
on the upside leila is all better from the conjunctivitis. the dr prescribed the stuff MM mentioned and it was brillo.
i am slightly green with envy that some of the bubbas are saying words!! L is understanding stuff, but as yet is still just doing the da da da stuff. the speech pathologist told us that bubbas learning two languages take awhile to say the first word, but i dunno...
Also, DH is reaching crisis point. i think the stress of starting the new job is hitting him like a tonne of bricks. he can barely sleep and is manically cleaning the house (can't complain about the latter lol!). i find it tricky to get him to just sit back and take stock. does anyone have any tips???
best dash as L is due for a feed at kindy in 20...
Well, had S weighed today and she is 8.4kg. I didn't think that she has put on a lot recently and her growth has slowed down a bit in the last few months. The child health nurse said that's nothing to be too concerned over as she is still in the 50% percentile but she still fits into some 000. Apparently they recommend that they treble their birth weight but age 1 so will keep an eye on that, she seems to be on track.
Ange - Sorry to sound silly but what exactly is shingles...they're related to the chicken pox aren't they. Whatever it is, it doesn't sound like a barrel of laughs. Esp, if you have to take drugs to clear it up.
Sherie - That cake looks awesome, it looks like you piped all the different colours on separately. That is patient and talent right there. Puts my little edible cake topper to shame I think. Although, I have decided to pipe a bit around the border as well as using chocolate shards around the outside. And well done on the invites also.
Cass - S is really only making sounds as well. Da da, ma ma, ba ba etc. Nothing that is really distinguishable though. All in due time...we'll be wanting them to 'Be Quiet!' soon enough haha. As for your DH, get him to play with L, take her for a walk , or to a park. He'll have to slow things down to play with her and might relax a bit and enjoy it. Other than that you may just need to have a decent talk to him and get him to voice whats going on (hard for a lot of men but worth a shot)
Anyway, just heard a little munchkin waking up...Back later
Kate, the cake is something I would never do again and trust me when I say my patience was more than tested at times LMAO. So very fiddly, but it did look great. Alister would be lucky to be 9.5kg I reckon - he has to weigh nearly 14kg to have trebled his birth weight, and I can't see tht happening anytime soon. She sounds absolutely perfect.
Clare, what other language are you teaching L? I did hear once that bi-lingual children can speak their languages like a true native if they learn it before the age of 7 because they still have a reasonably soft palate and that allows them to form the sounds properly.
Jaz, are you going to have a themed party for the girls?
thanks Kate! i think that's a great idea to have him do down-time activities that get to 'smell the roses' so to speak lol! and yeah, i think he needs a good chat. we went to the BB centre on the weekend and joined a postnatal emotional support group and he really enjoyed it and felt confident enough to talk to everyone there, so we'll keep that up too.
Sherie: yeah the speech pathologist told us that they will take in both languages really well, and for that reason she may take longer to come out with first words. DH predominantly speaks in italian with her. i am more occasional and generally when i am reading italian books to her. we were told that we had to keep to one language in sentences and all that jazz. it is fairly complicated. the SP even said that we should have one parent as the 'english' one and the other as the 'italian' one for optimal learning, but it just isnt practical for us as we kind of chop and change throughout the day. but thems the the breaks. we want her to be as close as possible to her family in italy, and language will be the big break she needs (also she is an italian citizen so it is only right LOL!).
Hi Girls,
Sherie- Wow those invites look great and the cake is wonderful.
Kate-Hi and welcome back.
Ange- Hope you get better soon
Clare- glad L eyes are better
Prepan- Glad N is better now.
Art- WTG W lets hope he does the same tonight.
OMG my baby girls is 11 mths today.... I also put her on real milk last night and she seems to be going great on it.
Leanne, I was just thinking that today too that Olivia is 11mths. Fancy her being 1 in only another 4wks!
Thanks Noni, Jazmum, Clare, Pregpan, Leanne and Kate for your hugs and concern. I was having a wee flip out this am. Feeling much better thanks to all your hugs! ;)
Kate- Chicken pox is a type of herpes virus. Herpes Zoster. When you have chickenpox as a child, the virus then lays dormant in a nerve root. Which root it lies in varies from person to person. For unknown reasons, often when you are stressed, tired or rundown the virus will come out along that particular nerve root. In my instance it is the nerve that supplies the right side of my face/head. It can be pretty nasty and cause paralysis and blindness in extreme cases. Most often it is very painful, but mine is not so bad. The good news is that so far my eyeball is not involved. So I the Ophthalmologist and my OB have decided that it would be reasonable no to take the meds and ride it out. (The regular path of action for pregnant women with shingles) I am happy with this as I was a bit nervous about taking the anti-viral meds. Category B3 is not recommended for use in pregnancy. Although in certain situations where potential benefit outweighs potential risk they do use it. Just glad that's not me!
Sorry again for selfish post, it's just a bit all consuming today. Will catch up soon.
Sherie- I now I am starting to get excited.
Hannah is the first of our Sept bub's I think that will be celebrating.
That's great news Ange - must be a huge relief. I hope you are feeling ok - my auntrecently had shingles and i know it can be v painful and tiring too. take it easy!
Clare - how fab Leila will be bilingual - and italian is so gorgeous!! I dont have any advice for how to deal w lorenzo - tbh i think i am the stress head here at the moment and dh is prob thinking he needs to have a similar intervention with me LOL! hmmm i wonder if thats his plan at date night on sat night!! ha ha ha!
Leeanne - congrats on 11 months - wow!!! they are really growing up! how did you move to cows milk - do you swap some into her formula bottle or just launch straight into it?
sherie - cake looks amazing - i am in awe!!
Pregpan- I just put her straight onto it. Thats what I did with the boys too although I did them the first week after they turned 1. So far so good.
Trill gorgeous invite and cake. I'm too much of a chicken to attempt something like that. My idea of a decorated cake involves creating a 'tableau' of 3 dimensional objects added to an existing cake haha.
Clare, get thee to the dr again hun, the ear doesn't sound good! BTW did I miss something, how come you were talking to a speechie? BTW that's true about the bilingual thing, they talk later but have much more advanced mental skills re language in general. I considered teaching DD1 another language from year dot but apart from me speaking there weren't any other immersion opportunities so I thought it'd be a bit lame in the end. BTW I have a solution for your manic husband, secretly substitute his coffee for decaf and watch him crumble like a house of cards LOL. Ah, sounds like you just need to get out and do something pleasant and relaxy together.
Ange, gee I hope you're feeling better soon...are you at least taking some pain relief?
BTW Jazah, thanks for the tooth fairy excuse, maybe she has a rotating roster of capital cities? LOL
do any of your bubs not do sippy cups> i am worried that N will not use and does not drink water etc yet
pregpan: yeah leila is a sippy cup addict. she carries it everywhere just to prove she can...
oohhh a date night?! how exciting!! ha ha ha hopefully the only 'intervention' will be a nice bottle of wine!!
MD: we had a speech pathologist come to our mums group twice and she gave us some good advice on how to handle languages and what to expect (or not expect!). IKWYM about the immersion. leila was in an italian playgroup, but they were mixing sentences and it was a bit disorganised so we dropped it. also there is only a kinder here that does italian, after that nothing. so plenty trips to italy will have to suffice.
LOL! i have tried the decaf trick!! he busted me and is adamant he can taste the difference..ppffft.
yeah, will visit the dr tomorrow (hopefully will get in). not happy jan.
Ange: feel for ya sista. more  your way.
hi everyone
just a food update from here - spaghetti bol a big hit - i made it the usual way but also grated in some courgette and carot for extra goodness - Noah loved it (i did it with normal macaroni kind of chopped up). so theres another red meat idea...
hi girls
sorry i've been mia, been kinda busy. went into the city yesterday with my dad- ate some lebanese food, got my eyebrows waxed, drank a mango smoothie- ahhh i feel like a new woman!
btw, those of you that have carried different sex children (i think that's only you sherie, isn't it?) did you have similar food cravings with same sexes? does that make sense?
it's just that last time i was obsessed with mangoes...and it seems i'm the same this time too.
i've gone completely off chicken too, although that could be due to jamie oliver ;)
ahhh, where do i start? so much chatting, so little time
dp has just gone up the road to get pizza AGAIN!! why does it seem like we eat pizza every week? mmmm probably cos we do...bad i know!
ange- big big hugs to you honey
shingles are horrific. my mum had them when she was going through chemo. you poor love. hope dh is looking after you well.
noni- have you done a hpt???? who do you think prince lorenzo will choose tomorrow? i'm going for sadie...
does anyone like the name sadie?
clare- leila is going to be such a spunky little italian bella.gorgeous :)
jaz- how did the tooth fairy go?
hayley and renee- i can't believe you too nearly ran into each other. was it in that main mall in the centre of perth?
how far do you guys live from the city/each other?
hayley- i know you're a vego, and a home ec teacher, so i thought i'd ask, what is your fav vego pasta recipe? i'm trying to find a cracker one that i could cook once a week. i've tried a few out of books but none arereally hitting the spot iykwim?
sherie- LOVE the cake, how special
pregpan- lewis is just starting to get the hang of sippy cups- he usually just throws them around though. i have found the best one is the tommee tippy nuby one.
leanne- happy 11 months olivia, big kisses to your sweetheart.
lewis has totally gone off solids lately- i'm putting it down to him being sick, but do you thinkishould be worried at all?
mmmm- i hear pizza! bbl for more personals
Pregpan - Dont worry M has NO idea when it comes to the sippy cup. I have tried three different ones now, and even tried just going straight to the straw. Too hard!! I guess they will get there eventually, I've never seen a 10 yr old who hasnt got the hang of using a real cup lol. How is N going with crawling? We still have no official crawling here but M moves around in her own little way. Spaghetti sounds Yumo, going shopping tonight so I'll get some more mince and make some up. I'm getting into cooking red meat, so proud of myself hehehe! Yes you are right its only a short flight, I'd rather walk her up and down the plane for the entire flight than give her drugs. We are going in early Sept. Hey have fun in Bali, we are looking at going early next yr. I want to get married there! How long are you going for?
Noni - Who cares if you had to put A in front of the tv for a bit, we've all done it. Its horrible when you get no sleep.
Ange - Major hugs!! I bet you were concerned as to whether it would affect bubs? What can you do to treat it while preggers, or have you already said & I've missed it?
Sherie - Thanks for your tips re phenergan, its definately a no go here. DP was dead against it from the start, but the way the work girls have been carrying on, gosh. Thought I'd better check it out. Good idea re the Brauer calm. Your invites look SO COOL! I need publisher. We dont have anything like that on our computer, in fact we need a new computer all together HAHA.
MD - I got a ball pit in coles for $15 on sale.
Clare - That is so good that you get right into Italian with L. We'd love to do something like that, but Perth has nothing to cater for it. The best time to start learning a language is now.
Gracie - Well I am about 20 mins from the city, not sure about Renee. Just shows how pathetically small Perth is LOL. Glad you had a nice day out with your dad. How far does your dad live from you? Does he spend much time with L? Vego pasta....ummmm hahahaha I may be studying home economics and am a vego but I dont have a recipe for a great vego pasta. Have you looked on taste dot com? They have some awesome yumo recipes. Re Lewis and solids, M has been off her food for a couple of wks now and I've just put it down to teeth. It could be because he isnt 100%. I wouldnt worry unless he is losing weight or waking hungry at night.
I cooked bacon today, go me! I made Maddie bacon & chive quiches for lunch.
I love Perth because it is so small - we went there for our honeymoon and can't wait to get back there.
Pregpan, Alister doesn't drink out of his cup either, so N isn't the lone ranger LOL.
G, My only turn off was Broccoli with all pgs, but the degree of how much it affected me varied from pg to pg and was worse with the boys. Any other time if I was a bit sick I would just eat what my stomach felt like eating. Although with Lindsay I couldn't get enough oranges or milk - I drank up to 2lts of milk a day sometimes when I was pg with him. And with Alister it was Dare espresso - so still a dairy craving
Pregpan, I reckon with all those gourmet dinners at your place, Noah is holding out until he gets a wine glass ;)! LOL Have you tried a cup with a straw or even just an open-lipped cup?
Rainy - eyebrows AND a mango smoothie!! Wow. My vego sister's fave pasta dish involves stuffing large shells with a ricotta/onion/spinach mixture then spooning a rich tomato sauce and a sprinkle of cheese over the top and baking until melty and nice. You could do similar with cannelloni too.
I love Perth too, we went there for a holiday when I was pg with DD1 and had some amazing freaky coincidences happen there all centred around an 'angel' theme. Bought a heap of furniture there too.
Really? I would love to get outta Perth & move to Melbourne, but DP wont leave his job. I guess now it doesnt really matter as I wouldnt be enjoying the night life now that we have a bub hehe.
Trillian - One of my big time cravings was brocolli. Couldnt get enough of the stuff. Had it on my dinner plate almost every night a week!
MD - YUM do you know the recipe for your sisters pasta?
I made that delicious mexican burrito bake for tea again tonight, was funny watching M gobbling it down but pausing to spit out the pieces of corn!
We did food shopping tonight and a bunch of teenage girls were losing it laughing at M's psychadelic trolley mate & calling it flower power. We were having a laugh too, it truely is hideous and embarrassing. DP's 90 yr old granny bought it for us. When she told me she was getting us one I thought excellent that will come in handy, then when I opened the box....what a shock. DP said I could never ever use it in public LOL.
Ok now I'm off to read my NW magazine with a tragic pic of Britney and her son on the front, and her son is playing with her ciggies and lighter!!
geez you girls can talk!!
ughh last night was terrible i think on top of everything now asha is getting a cold! dp has bronchitis so i really hope it dosnt get to that for her!! dp let me sleep a bit last night i fell asleep on the lounge at 9 and he didnt wake me up till 2 when he was too tired to stay up anymore and asha was still upset.. i ended up waking him up again at 4 because she was crying and had already had nurofen and panadol and i just couldnt handle it due to the days of lack of sleep.. he wasnt impressed at all he said i was being nasty to him.. dont see how he expects me to speak to him nicely when i am about to have a nervous breakdown from lack of sleep!! anyway he ended up getting up with her and didnt bring her back to me till about 6:30 at which point i gave her more panadol (she was crying again) and she slept for another hour so i do feel much better today:).. i looked in her mouth yesterday and can see 4 top teeth coming so it could be that not sure...
have a fancy dress party to go to on the 9th and am sooo lost haha i dont really like fancy dress parties i always avoid them but its my friends 21st lol dp wants to go as john lennon because i straightened his hair yesterday(its got a bit of a natural curl in the ends) and its really long and he thinks it would be easy lol i might just end up going as his groupie lol.. i am looking for a teddy bear brown jacket with ears for asha because she has a brown fluffy nappy and i thought it would be cute she could go as a teddy bear but i cant find one anywhere!! bloody summer clothes are coming out now too!!
well i did a pregnancy test this morning and it was negative :) i feel relieved even tho its probably too early to test anyway haha.. a part of me kinda wishes it was positive actually lol oh dear!! dont really want to be pregnant at ashas first birthday tho because i got so sick and lazy when i was pregnant and i want to enjoy myself and run around like an idiot doing everything for her :)
wow sherie you are so creative!! i made invites for asha too but then found some in big w that were on sale and cheaper than printing the invites out so i just went with that lol!! i am going to make a butterfly cake for asha with a long cake body and cupcake wings can see me getting frustrated with that too haha!!
mm - lol @ the trolly cover ours is really phsychadelic colours too but its animals and stuff on it so it looks cute lol.. eeek brittney lol is that the one with the cover that says "i'm a hopeless mum" lol
rainforest - idk lol i havnt been watching been really busy this week.. not really a fan of the name sadie.. my cravings were maccas breakfast (yuk!) and twix chocolate bars lol but ive only had one bub lol...
pregpan - asha loves spagetti bolagnaise too :) with the sippy cups asha cant really drink from them herself unless shes laying down she never tips them far enough lol i find a pump bottle or mini pump bottle is easy to get her to drink water coz i just squeeze the water into her mouth.. cows milk gives asha a tummy ache so id advise u try little bits at a time to make sure but theyre all different
md - i am sure all will be forgiven when the tooth fairy comes lol maybe she could write a letter explaining that shes sorry she was late lol.. thats very cute that E knew it was daddy on the phone!
jazmum - asha was sleeping well a while ago when we just moved in.. shed do 5 hours or so in her cot and then come to bed for another 3-4 its just lately that somethings thrown her off..
Just a quick one re the sippy cups. Sarah isn't a huge fan of them, she prefers to chew the cr@p out of them instead. However, she loves drinking water out of my pump bottle and will actually suck it down a bit like a bottle (is that good or bad). I've also got some of those Tupperware kids tumblers that I try her with but I find that she drinks more with the pump bottle as I always have one around and offer it to her whenever I take a swig.
Well, S had a ***** night so I'm offer to try an early nap so that I can jump back into bed for a quick cat nap. Or at least, come back on here and chat longer ;)
hi everyone
thanks for the reassurance re the sippy cups - feel better about that now! i have a nuby so will keep at it with that and may get one of those tupperware ones too - my FDC lady recommends that! md what is a cup with the lip? and where woudl i get one? have tried the cups with straws - he thinks they are fun to bite LOL!
Noni- hope the teeth come thru soon. sounds like DP is taking a bit more on with Asha?
Rainy - sounds like a fun day!!!
MD - that pasta sounds deliscious!
Re veg pasta recipes - i havea few (we eat mainly veg at home).... i love orechiette with ricotta a tomato and basil - and it is so easy. just cut 2 punnets of cherry toms in half and squeeze out juice and seeds (my dh drinks this) - put in bowl with 2 cloves garlic chopped, a shlug of olive oil, salt and pepper and set aside for 15 mins. cook orechiette and drain. heat tomatoes and oil in the pan then stir in the pasta. add 250 g fresh ricotta chopped and a heap of basil leaves. heat through and serve. it is one of my faves!!! i also do one with roasted veg - i just roasta huge tray of red and yellow peppers, vine tomatoes, red onion, garlic, courgettes, aubergines witj olive oil and salt and pepper, then puree it and stir through pasta - delicious! that sauce freezes really well too. you can also make one with egg plant, courgettes and passata - yummo. and if you like tuna (not sure if you eat fish rainy) a really quick and easy one is to toss good quality tna, flat leaf parsley, chilli, lemon and olive oil through pasta. all so delicious ( i am a pasta lover!!)
Kate - it is really nice to have you back!
Rainy - i like the name sadie... so you think you are having a girl???
better go.. dh home today so enjoying some time together.
Hi Girls,
Yep Well I am joining the sleep deprived mumma's club too. I had all 3 restless last night. Xavier woke up 4 times screaming and ended up in our bed around 11.30pm. Jordy wandered into our bed around 3am and Olivia woke crying 3 times though the night. I think those 4 front teeth are not too far away her poor little gums. oh I was totally on the edge of the bed even had to get out to just turn over. Hope everyones babies sleep tonight.
Pregpan- OMG all your food always sounds so yummy I want to come and eat at your house everynight. Are you a chef? Enjoy your Mummy & Daddy time today.
Kate- Enjoy your nap and hope S sleeps for you tonight.
Noni- Poor Asha hope the teeth pop though soon.
MD- Is it Chinese soup night tonight?
Hello to everyone and have a good day
pregpan- thanks for that recipe,i'm going to give it a try- one question though- can i eat ricotta?
i'm not too sure. yes, i think i might be having a girl, but then sherie has changed my mind cos i've been craving oranges and milk!
md- that pasta sounds beautiful.how big do the shells have to be?
hayley- my dad lives about 20 mins from me, which is really handy. sometimes if i have an appointment or soemthing,i drop lewis off there for an hour or so.i did start going to the gym once a week and dad would mind him for me but then i stopped once i was pg. lewis and i usually go out to lunch (his shout) one day a week.i don't know what i'd do without him actually!
oopps gotta go, lewis is in the dogs water bowl with his tongue hanging out.
Noni - I would definately say its the teeth that are upsetting Asha. We had the same issue a couple of weeks ago when Maddie had her 4 top ones coming through. Hope its not bronchitis that Asha is getting, thats nasty. Yes, it is the one where it says 'I'm a terrible mum'! I read the article and I know you cant always believe them, especially NW, but god Britney needs some help!! The pictures alone tell you alot. I do feel sorry for her though.
Rainy - Love the name Sadie. I ate ricotta when I was pregnant. Aww your dad sounds so cute.
Leemar - One awake baby during the night is bad enough for me, how do you do it!? lol.
Pregpan - You are a great cook! Wish I could just whip things up like that.
Kate - I'm sure offering the pump bottle isnt bad, at least she is getting some water into her and enjoying it.
I'm feeling frustrated this morning, it seems as if Maddie is forever getting sick. She has had a cough now for a week and a half and I havent been to the doc, just been keeping an eye on it. I'm a bit embarrassed actually as I feel like I'm at the doctors every 2nd week and I dont want her to think I'm being paranoid. Anyway last night she was coughing heaps, it doesnt seem to be getting better. So I decided I'd better take her to the doc, but do you think I can ever get an appt with our doctor? Grr its so annoying. So I guess I dont know what else to do now but to keep doing what I'm doing and hope it goes away?
