Hello Girls,
Renee- How did you go at Target?
MD-CONGRATULATIONS on Miss E sleeping through. Dont worry about waking her if she is sleeping through.
Present for Boys- The best toy we found for the boys was a Hot Wheels Hummer its big black and talk about value for money also we got a Hot Wheels Grave Digger its also big and great. We bought them for the boys for there first christmas and they still have not broken them.
Dreamworld was excellent. Highly recommend it for kids. Expensive but what theme park isnt. Food was good and the boys even went on the log ride. Olivia and the boys went on the big red car ride and she had a ball. Not much really for her to do but she still enjoyed watching the boys.
Better go
Hello to all
hi everyone, I have a 10 month old born on the 14th of September 2007,, Hope to chat with you girls. Cheers
Welcome Nina! Hope you feel welcome in our very chatty thread
Leemar, sounds like Dreamworld was cool. I hope to take W there when he is a bit older.
MD, very envious of E sleeping through. We have had a few terror nights, he is restless, wriggling and grizzling just about constantly. He is getting teeth but I can't even see them coming up yet so I guess they are still ages away. Scary about the cot side but babies come with built in cation for drops (not foolproof though) W has crawled off the edge of the bed twice in his life (both times he was half asleep), usually he crawls to the edge and looks but goes no further. I watched a doco on it once, they kept changing the incline of a ramp and at a certain angle all the babies refused to try it. It was really interesting.
Renee, good to see you, I was wondering where you had got to. I haven't even thought about W's birthday yet.
Cally, W has a bit of puke dribble whenever he is teething. The cold is a good possibility too.
Rainy, how are you? Is L sleeping better?
Can anyone else still go to the toilet in private? W has to come in or he cries outside the door. Yesterday I bribed him by letting him play in the laundry and he still came waltzing in (carrying a bucket lol)
I hate renting! I arrived home from playcenter today to find my back door wide open and an electrician inside. Grrr. The builders till have a key and let him in. Lucky I took my dog with me, but if they had called I could have stayed home to let him in (and then my G-string undies wouldn't have been hanging over the edge of the washing basket for all to see lol).
Another moan - some fracking d!ck down the road has a little but very noisy motorbike they have been riding up and down the street. I tried to put W to bed earlier but with that going past every couple of minutes it was impossible so I waited another hour and finally got him to bed and it started again. I went and asked the little ***** to stop for a while, he said yes and then kept bluddy doing it!. Next time he starts it up I think I might call the police and dob him in. Surely it can't be legal for a kid too young to have a licence to be riding a motorbike on the footpath with no helmet?
hey everyone flying visit from me coz i'm not feeling overly well..
does anyone know if u can still get pregnant if dp dosnt... ahem well finish iykwim lol that and it was only like a day after af finished.. i thought it couldnt happen but now i am feeling sick and am really tired and emotional and i am just wondering well worrying really.. can someone offer some reassurance?
You sure can Noni! There can be small amounts of sperm in the pre-ejaculation fluid. It would be unlikely one day after AF finished but certainly not unheard of. Sorry not much reassurance from me!
MD- 3 intersate moves in 11 months. Wow, you must have been sick of moving. Apparently we are not moving now. The boss here just can't make up his mind. He wants to maintain the lease on this property which means we need to stay in the house. I don't mind, just means DH has big days and a fair bit of time on the road.
Hi Nina.
Leanne- i'd love to go to dream world, can't wait till my kids are big enough!
hmmmmm i smell poo................
Ange, we have friends that are property managers and they have had to move several times too and its a hassle for them.
Noni, you should be fine, but yeah, they can still be deadly LOL.
Arte, I would be sitting out the front with my hose at the ready and squirt the little terror when he goes past. he might realise you mean business then.
Leanne, I can vouch for the quality of hot wheels stuff too - Lindsay has a bit of it and it is made really well.
Renee, my goodness you are busy! How is Rory enjoying the swimming lessons?
Marydean, WOOO Bloody HOOO at you getting a full night sleep. Maybe you could try the dreamfeed only a few hours into her sleep so you still get a decent stretch yourself later?
Cally, maybe it is just a heap of pleghm in her belly making her sick? Is she OK otherwise apart from the cold?
I have had a shocker two days - I have broken out in hives from the abs i was taking. I got them on the second last day of taking them and I thought it was just a breakout of psoriasis (which is playing up badly atm) but it wasn't responding to the lotion I use for it, so started to twig that it may be hives because by golly it's itchy, and I did a bit of googling last night and found out that you can get them as an allergic reaction to some abs - so I googled the ones I had been taking and BINGO! one of the more rare reactions is hives. I have never had a reaction to abs before in my life either. So I went and got some phenergan tablets today. I have them all over my arms, legs and back and you wouldn't believe how itchy they are. I can't take them till later though cause they will knock me out LOL.
Other than that all is well LOL. Alister does follow me to the toilet if he realises I'm there, so I have to make sure the door is shut properly or otherwise he is in there. His latest trick is to pinch the remote and get the batteries out to play with. THere is no cover over the batteries so they come out really easy.
:rofl::
Arte, I would be sitting out the front with my hose at the ready and squirt the little terror when he goes past. he might realise you mean business then
Hi Girls!
Welcome Nina!!:welcome: we love it when people join in!! extra chatting!
your son was born on Leila's EDD!
MD: Woot woo! for the sleeping thru!! i hope you did a victory dance
i wouldn't worry too much about supply (unless you have had some probs). i remember when L started sleeping through my boobies would complain for the first week and then they settled down, and supply has been great...ITH?
the BB centre was great! and the support group interesting. there were only two of us there this time, normally there are 5 couples, but between gastro and colds, they were taken out! DH came along too and found it really good. was able to talk openly about stuff and the lady running it was fantastic.
Arte: yeah we used to have neighbours like that in canberra. they had these mini motorbike thingys. then they became illegal and within days a number of calls were made to the police and we had quiet nights once again!
and nup, no private toilet times here either! although she is easily distracted by the bath toys...
yep, the renting thing can be the pits! it is illegal for them (incl. tradespersons) to arrive unannounced...and let themselves in! i would have been furious!
Sherie: man you have been in the wars girl! i hope that it sorts itself out soon! hives sound pretty scary (and uncomfortable!). BIG  to you! must be pretty tough ATM.
Leanne: glad the dreamworld trip was fun! it must have been really cool for the boys! and at least Olivia liked to keep watch. not sure if Leila would be so laid back! LOL! maybe she has first-child syndrome!
Renee: welcome back!! it has been awhile!!
AFM: well yesterday Leila had her first ever swimming lesson! and i was reminded of Rainy (i think?) complaining about the lack of changing space! we had to change the bubs on the benches and it was a bit cold. but the lessons were a blast. i dont think i have seen leila laugh and clap that much ever!! so for $6 a lesson we'll be going back. there was one game we played where they sit on the edge of the pool and then we pick them up and they 'fall' into the water...well, by the third time leila was preempting it and jumping in on her own! i almost had a heart attack! LOL!
other than that same old same old. i think that the penicillin i am on is not cutting the mustard re the tonsilitis. i can still feel it big time on one side. so am not impressed as the thought of doing another round of 50 gives me the heeby-jeebys.
anyway best dash as it is getting close to L's bedtime...oh BTW, swimming lessons tucker them out! LOL! leila had a 3 hour marathon afternoon sleep yesterday, woke for dinner then straight back to bed for a sleep through!
Hi Girls,
Nina- Hi and Welcome
Clare- WTG L in swimming. Re the tonsils. Have you tried gargling will aspalgin or aspro I use to have it all the time and it really does work. Also a penicillian shot is really good too.
Art- Are they allowed to come into your house with out notice. I also like Sheries Idea too.
Sherie- OMG girl you are in the wars latley I mean with your ear and now Hives. Hope you get better soon:hug:
I hope I get over it soon too! Although I think Clare is giving me a run for my money with her tonsils ;) It has been a really bad year for it this year it seems - my neighbour next door (well, she is about 5km away but their farm is next door to ours LOL) is on abs ATM for it, and there have been 6 children that I know who've had them out this year.
Oh, I forgot to mention that I finally got a sippy cup. It's a tommee tippee 'nuby' one for $5.95 and it's great! I got it online from pharmacydirect when I ordered some more formula for Alister and he seems to like it. Doesn't like the water I put in it though. It doesn't leak either and isn't all fancy schmancy so I wont be mucking around cleaning bungs etc like the other ones I have.
Renee - YES we were in the city on Sunday! Thats so funny!!! I asked DP if he remembered walking into someone but he doesnt, no suprise there hehe. We were with the outlaws shopping. What were you up to in the city?
Trillian - That is a bargain sippy cup, my tt one cost $17 odd dollars. Rip off!
Clare - M had conjunctivits a few weeks back and I found the same as Leanne, the over the counter chemist stuff doesnt work too well, but what the doc prescribed cleared it up overnight.
MD - I am so happy for you that E slept through. Well done E! You must have felt like a new woman the next morning.
Rainy - Oh no sorry to hear you are having sleep issues, its hard work. Are you extra tired yourself being in the early stages of pregnancy?
Noni - Hope you are feeling better soon. Straight after AF finishing...I doubt it so you should be fine.
Leanne - The boys will love the tractors. Wow your friend is a super mumma alright! Thanks for your reassurance re M's weight.
Cally - Hope Katie is better soon! M seems to go off her food when sick as well.
Arte - How annoying, the little brat. Ohhh no how embarrassing your undies hanging up for all to see hehe. I would have thought that they at least have to give you warning that someone is coming? Rude or what?!
Nina - Welcome! :)
Thanks everyone re your reassurances about M's weight!
Whinge time: I am SO tired. I dont know what I am doing wrong these days, M has gone from sleeping through the nights to waking every morning at 3/4am without fail and then on and off until she gets up at 7ish. Both DP and I feel like zombies lol. She has been doing this for almost a couple of months now and I have been giving in and offering a bottle which she takes every time. Do you think I've gotten her into a habit so she wakes for that bottle now? Anyone read the Pinky McKay sleep book and if so is it good?
Hi Hayley. Does she settle after the bottle or does it make no difference? I don't think she's gotten into the habit of having the bottle, but there is something waking her up. Is she cold or wet? does she have a belly pain?
Hi Sherie, yes after the bottle she is fine and usually sleeps well after that. She has a decent sized solids meal for dinner around 6 and lets me know when she has had enough, so she is full. I did initially think it was a growth spurt but its been going on so long now. Not cold, but by then her nappy is quite wet, this never bothered her before but now that she's older do you think that could be it? Where has my little sleeper gone!? lol
You could try just changing her, but if she is too awake, you still might need the bottle to get her back to sleep. Or you could get a booster to put in her nappy so it absorbs more before it feels wet to her. How regular is her pooing? Do you think that could be contributing if she is eating so well?
YAY YAY YAY to miss E for sleeping through for MD!! I bet that took you by surprise. If you're worried about your supply or her gaining weight (she was a bit low wasn't she?) then go for the dreamfeed overnight (but not too late so you get a decent sleep).
Welcome Nina! How's your little one going?
Trillian - oh, you poor thing with the hives, so itchy! Bargain on the sippy cup, well done. My heinz one has leaked a couple of times in the nappy bag so I might grab one of them next time I do an order.
Arte - if they go past a lot I'd call the police. If it's illegal to ride a bike without a helmet it definitely would be to ride one of those little motorbikes.
Clare - glad that L liked her swimming. K loves it, but boy it was cold on Monday. Yay for the 3 hour nap in the afternoon, that's a super effort. Do you sing lots of songs, K loves Duke of York.
K follows me into the bathroom each time. She loves hanging onto the bath and lately she wanders into the shower and giggles when she crawls away and I try to get her. I tend to use the main bathroom rather than the ensuite so it is drier and she doesn't get wet clothes. Must admit it is a bit disconcerting sitting on the toilet and having her pulling herself up on my legs! But then I've had the cat jump up on my lap and settle down there before.
K is fine, the cold is pretty much gone, hardly anything coming out of her nose, just a little vomit each morning. Any chance if her ear was sore she would vomit?
Noni - there is a very slim chance, best way is to get a test and check!
MD - I had a dream last night, I peeked in on DD and she was halfway down the outside of the cot about to hit the floor (for some reason she was sleeping in the bathroom), I managed to grab her before she hit the floor. I put it down to your worry about not lifting the side of the cot!
DH grabbed me at 3:30 this morning and woke me up, he must have been having a bad dream. Not impressed, took me over an hour to get back to sleep.
Accountant this afternoon for our tax - should be a good return this year and pay for all the landscaping we are doing plus some extra.
waaaaaaa i just did this huuuuge post and lost it all!!!!!
asha woke up screaming a few times last night usually shes been waking up at like 3am and then 6am deciding its play time which is why its been hard for me to get on here sooooo drained lol but last night she was screaming instead.. i ended up giving her panadol and then nurofen and she was alright... gonna take her to the gp today though just incase its not teeth since dp has been so sick..
cally - i think its too early for a test because i am not due for AF yet.. yay on the tax we are STILL waiting for dps group certs grrrr..
sherie - oh you poor thing with the hives.. thats the kinda stuff that happens to me with medication! never agrees with me!
haley - hope maddie sleeps through soon!! sleepy vibes to you.. and to asha too haha
cassius - gladthe swimming lesson went well
anyway gotta go ashas finished her breaky and wants to get down lol have a great day everyone :)
hi everyone!!!
i have just skimmed the posts - so sorry i have been so put of touch, life has been v hectic!! work is CRAZY, DH was away, have had 2 trips to melb - 1 with N and 1 without - you get the picture!
all is well here - aside from the busy-ness and the feeling that my life it out of control at the moment...
will try to pop on later and read properly and do some personals etc.
xxx
Oh my god Hayley! Thats so bloody funny! I knew it was Maddie, I could spot that little cutie anywhere! Ah hah, that explains the older woman pushing the pram. Your poor Dp looked dazed haha, as any DP/DH would shopping in the city on a sunday!! Dwayne stayed at home and I went with my mum, I cant ever get him to go shopping with me anymore.
I went in to get some clothes...yes thats right I bought something for myself whoohoo haha. I got some nice things at Portmans on sale. I bought a lovely silk top that was $90 for $30 to wear at Rory's party.
oh btw Ive got the old womans weekly cake book if you want me to photo copy anything out of it.
MD - Oh im so glad that E slept through! Its a huge step from when I last popped in. *high five* Way to go!! What was the trick? Rory has a FP tool bag and he loves putting his tools in the bag and then taking them out again.
Sherie - Rory loves his swimming lessons. We had to cancel them quite a few times as he had that bad cold. Dwayne's dad and I take turns in taking him every Saturday. Is there anywhere around you that you could take A for swimming classes? Bl00dy ab's, they seem to have so many side effects :( Hope the new medication works better with your body.
Well going back up to target today with a couple of girlfriends. The Target around the corner sold out of the smart trikes so im going to try another one. Im so excited about Rory's party its insane! Ive already ordered helium baloons, the cake, some pooh decorations and ive made up his pooh bear invitations on photoshop...they look awesome!
MIl said to me last night that he shouldnt be drinking out of bottles anymore. I didnt even realise! Is everyone using sippy cups?? Are the FF mums still steralising?
Okay I need to ask a possibly really stupid question because I cant seem to get a straight answer out of anyone. Can you put car seats in ute's??
We have to go down south next week so I might be MIA AGAIN. Dwayne's poppy is dying so all the family are going down there to see him
renee - yep u can put carseats in utes.. i am excited about ashas party too lol alreay have a few things including the invitations and somne of the decorations and the cake tin for the cake lol
Oh dear, I must be the only mummy here who's not planning a birthday party! Gawd I feel so TRAGIC!!!!
Renee and MM - that's hilarious that you bumped into each other...just think if you'd been a little braver R you could've stopped and a had a coffee and a right ol catch up!
Commisserations Noni on the not sleeping. The screaming doesn't sound right, let us know what the dr says.
I can't believe Pregpan popped in and didn't tell us why her birthday was soo memorable!!!
Trill, Don't Scratch!!! HOpe they are starting to feel better. We've got a nuby too but it's one of the first ones I tried that she didn't drink out of. I've used it since and it's good too.
Clare, maybe get some different meds at the drs, sounds like the one you've got is not working!
OMG Cally I would flip out from a dream like that! Could you get back to sleep afterwards?
MM, I second Trill's suggestions. Otherwise try just giving her a drink of water instead of the bottle if you don't want her having a bottle (if she's a mouth breather she might be waking up feeling a bit dry around the gills).
Arte, illegal dirtbikers are a problem everywhere! I reckon just leave a few hand-fulls of sharp tacks (pointy end up) on the strip they ride on (!!!) Did I say that? Def ring the police next time and at least see what they say, otherwise speak to the council about noise restrictions.
Hi Girls,
Renee- no we are not sterilizing anymore. Olivia is on 3 bottles a day now with water in a sippy cup inbetween. She also loves the baby popper jucies and loves to suck out of the straw.
MD- How did Miss E go last night?
Noni- Hope A is feeling better soon.
Oh better go I have to go to the dr now feels like I have razar blades in my neck.
Talk soon
oh MD - I cant even remember what i wrote on my bday - i hope i didnt get your hopes up that there was an amazingly exciting story to tell.... the bday was memorable as it was a day from hell in many ways LOL!!! too much on to go into huge detail (and tbh now in hindsight it isnt so bad) but lets just say it involved a flight to melb with N, turning up at aiport and realising DH did NOT leave the pram in the car for me like i thought he had before he went away, parking miles away at the back of the long term car park, delays and more delays, no parking at my mums, sick N spewing all over me while all our stuff was in the car - you get the drift!!! so not memorable for any delightful reasons or anything to get excited about unfortunately! i was spoiled with gorgeous gifts etc etc but it wasnt a day i'd like to repeat any time soon!!
OH no pregpan, so memorable in a faulty towers kind of way then?
I'm starting to think about Alister's party - have done invites. I hvae done more for Erin's party the following month LOL.
Luckily the hives aren't all that itchy on my arms or legs, only my back, so I can't get to them LOL. The phenergan worked a treat for the itch anyway.
Pregpan: Oh no what a day! What a mess! Bet DH copped it for not leaving the pram in the car hehe. How is N going, is he unwell still?
Trillian: Thanks for the tips, I?m going to give it a go. Not sure about the pooing, she always does one every morning after she has been up half an hr or so. Also I?ll try give water instead, but I?ve tried that before and even when sleepy in the middle of the night she knows and shakes her head lol. She is also sick at the moment again and cough coughing during the night, so I'm kinda waiting for this to pass iykwim. Mind you last night she didnt have a bottle, as she woke, I put the dummy in and she went off easily. What program did you make Alisters invites on?
Renee: We are missing a swimming lesson today due to Maddie having a cold too and another nasty cough. Good luck with the smart trike, all this talk about them makes me want to go put one on lay by for chrissy. I showed DP last night so I figure I?ll go down to target today and if they still have them then its meant to be hehe. YES that was my MIL who insists on taking over caring for M when she is around, hence pushing the pram all day long. I don?t mind so much anymore, well not as much as I used to. I try not to work myself up anymore about my MIL! Yay for the portmans purchases! I stopped sterilizing only a couple of weeks ago and I?m still sad about it LOL I love cleaning & doing the dishes (as weird as it sounds) and I loved sterilizing bottles but I figured she is too old for it now. I can?t get M to take a sippy cup at all, she plays with it, so don?t worry about it. Thanks for your offer re the cake book but I want my own copy, it brings back so many good memories.
Leemar: Whats wrong with your neck?
MD: Hope you had another good night with E. Yes M is a mouth breather, I never even thought that it could be her mouth being dry! You smartie hehe.
Noni: Let us know how Asha goes at the doc. Hope its just teeth?
Cally: Haha I?ve had the cat jump onto my lap while on the loo as well. Yay for the decent tax return!
While Sherie has metioned phenergan & while I remember, the girls at work are adamant that I need to give this to M before we take off on our plane trip (early Sept we are going) to ?knock her out?. I don?t like the sound of this at all though. I figured she would be ok seeing as we leave at 4.30pm and arrive at 11pm ish in KL, this would normally be when she is sleeping. However we are then onto another plane at midnight to Penang, so a few disturbances. I know sometimes babies get confused with the ear popping. What do you ladies think, is it as drastic as the work girls are saying? I haven?t been on many planes myself let alone taken a baby along so I don?t know.
I havent done a thing for N's party yet - oops! better get onto that! i think we are having 2 - 1 here in Canb and 1 in melb a few weeks later. yes i live a double life!
sherie - glad the hives are getting better - you have had a hard time.
I haven't done anything for K's party either, better get onto that!
MM - Some of the others will know better about plane trips with bubs, but just to let you know, if you do try the phenergan test it out beforehand! My mum gave it to me on a couple of plane trips and apparently I use to run up and down the aisles and be absolutely hyper. It can knock some kids out but can work the completely opposite way as well.
Hi everyone
Hannah is asleep, Jess is at school and Zoe is at Kindy and i'm feeling a bit lonely. Poor me. lol.
cally - i'm so glad your sis has got you the trike. I can't wait until Hannah's birthday so i can give her a go. ( i will though) Hannah still has a little spew - and it is generally after her morning feed. (it's usually weetbix, and it pongs)
ange - when do you have to move? I hope the morning sickness settles enough for you to get organised.
clare - how cool that you got to go to the BB pregnancy centre. I'd love to see it.
$6 swimming lessons!!!!!!!! That's fantastic. Great that she enjoyed herself too.
md - i've only just recently worked out that bananas naturally break into 3 as well. It's so much easier!! I'm so happy for you that E slept through the night. I hope it turns into a regular occurrence for you.
Leanne - i'm glad you had a nice day at dreamworld.
nina - hi and welcome!!!!!
arte - i don't think i've been to the toilet in private for 6 years!!!!! My favourite quote of all time is from Kylie Minogues' character in the movie The Deliquents..."Can't I even .hit in peace?!" You're not having much luck with noise pollution at the moment - i hope your little friend finds a quieter toy to play with.
trill - i hope the itchiness settles quickly. You poor thing. First the elephant man's lovechild, and now this....
renee - i can't wait to see photos of Rory's party - i think you're going to have a ball!!
mm - I hope Maddie gets better soon.
i'll be back soon - have to do school pickup - i've got to wake Hannah up - gee i hate doing that.:(
thanks for the very warm welcome everyone, I really enjoy reading your posts, anyway just want to ask, September is fast approaching anyone organizing the bubs' 1st birthday party? :p
MM- Turns out I only have a Virus. Sore throat started last night. So now I am on AB's.
Jazmum- Enjoy your mumma time.
Nina- Olivia is having a Pink Party. Just having a BBQ with friends and family coming over.
OMG my baby will be 1 very soon...
Cally- LOL at you running up and down the aisle hyper...
Sherie- Glad the hives are better.
OK who knows how to cook red meat!? I just made hamburgers for Maddie, mince, wostershire sauce, onion, carrot and two egg yolks. She devoured them like crazy, but I think I'm doing something wrong as the hamburgers crumbled apart and she couldnt pick them up easily. Is it due to not using the full eggs or does mince just tend to crumble apart?
Re parties, we are doing something small at home I think. Still planning it.
H - my rissoles always fall apart, so i don't think i can help you there.
Hi MM
Try to add something to 'bind' them - maybe some breadcrumbs? that may help...though if she loved them, then who cares if they fell apart!! yummo, i may make some for N, just thinking he prob doesnt eat enough red meat...
Re the phenergen - i agree re testing it, as i have heard of others with Cally's reaction LOL!!! i also know a few ppl who have done it and it has worked. I do know yo uhavwe to pretend your bubba is over 2 to get it, so for me that makes it a no go... we are off to bali at at end of aug and i figure i will just deal with how N is, but your flight is longer!!
Drat Pregpan, I very nearly successfully started a rumour that it was memorable because you had some "news" to share! LOL Aaaah the perils of the pram not being in the car! Sounds like it was a comedy of errors from the get go.
MM, re the phenergan, I'm not really in favour of using a sedative to get through a journey. I'd be saving it for desperate circumstances, I'm thinking long haul flight to Europe! I guess you could take it with you and decide depending on how well she is travelling or not. ETA - if it's not available under 2 yo I'd be erring on the side of not giving it unless you've talked to your dr and been given the correct dosage regimen.
Sherie, show us your invites!!
Leanne, I like the idea of a colour-themed party. Will you have pink food too? (MD's brain starts ticking over - you could have beetroot dip with a bit of sour cream mixed in, pink kranskies, cup cakes with pink icing, pink marshmallows, iced vovos, fairy bread with pink sprinkles, watermelon - (pink-ish) and strawberries, pink lemonade)...! What fun
Hi Nina, I think I'm the only one here NOT organising a party LOL! How's the pregnancy going?
Jazmum, it's strange when there's no one here too. I keep going to E's room to 'check on her' and then realise she's across the road LOL! You're showing your age, talking about the Delinquents, I had one of those moments the other day when I was talking about Nicole in BMX Bandits PMSL! Aaah I hope we've got a bit of wisdom to show for it...?
BTW, to soothe all your envy, the sleeping through was apparently a once off. E was up twice again last night! However, nice to know that it CAN happen once in a while.
I missed out on going back to Target, I was going to nip up in the last hour of E being at FDC but I got the dreaded phone call from school instead. DD1 did not take a water bottle to school and has made a miraculous recovery upon arriving home and drinking a large glass of water. She will *not* however being going out to GGuides tonight! Am I a mean mummy?
MD- DH did a test run of Pink Crackles. Instead of using Cocoa he used Pink Quick... They turned out great... lol. Maybe E was teasing you with sleeping a full night. Any way hope it happens tonight.
thanks leemar and madsmum, i want to do it small too but the inlaws want it BIG... i get pressured sometimes, like with my DS's christening we spent way over budget and is still paying off our cards... i was thinking to rent a place and bring in food, we don't know a lot of people with kids so it'll be mostly grown ups...
oh and MaryDean... pregnancy's great... little DS#2 is kicking away like crazy and I can't wait to meet him!!!
nina - i just read your ticker - Congratulations!!!!!! You haven't got too much longer to go. Lachlan is a little cutie too!
re party - Zoe's 5th birthday is 2 days after Hannah's, so we're going to combine them. Zoe wants a fairy party (just for something a little bit different ) so that's the way we're going to go.
md - what a shame that E didn't sleep through last night as well .
hi girls!
wowsers today you have been busy!! arrghhh so much to read...so deliciously addictive LOL!
Leanne: i hope that it's not the razor blades of tonsilitis. mine is just getting worse and worse. i finish this round of penicilin, so no doubt the dr will give me another which i am not too fond of. i had the penicilin shot, but it just kinda knocked it out temporarily...i wanna rip them out!
MD: yeah, i will go tomorrow to the drs and try to get something different. i am not too keen on doing more than one course of abs as one of the mums in my group had two rounds of one and ended up with liver failure a couple of months ago.
And no, you are not a mean mummy, just one without wool over her eyes! LOL!
you're right, the knowledge that E can do it, is very comforting. i remember when L was heading for the sleep throughs and gave us a couple of kiss and a promise nights. it gave me hope that one day she would just do it. and she did...ITH!
Nina: hey congrats on the pregnancy! such a nice time!
IKWYM about party pressures! we had our wedding earlier this year and it was nightmarish! for leila's we are hiring the local community centre and park and doing a BBQ. trying desperately to keep it low key. no theme as yet...although working on it!
pregpan: oh no! what a birthday!! and trust me it did sound pretty shocking! Is N feeling a bit better?
MM: yeah, try testing the phen. beforehand. i have heard the horror stories of it having the hyper effect too. friends that flew to canada (for a week!!!) with their 6 month old said it was pretty tricky, but you go into survival mode and the bubs cope ok. and you're right, the flight times sound really good. i read that you have to try to keep them in their time zone as much as possible while flying...ITH.
JaZmum: yeah i felt pretty spesh seeing the BB centre. and kelly is really really nice. i felt really welcome. i am so glad that it exists and have been selling it to all the mums at group!
i had best be off as DH has made us a cup of tea. bbl for more...:)
Hi Everyone
Well, I'm back I've been lurking around here but have only just had enough time to do a decent post. :cheer:
I'm glad to hear everyone has been going well, I've tried to read back some posts to see how everyone is going but there is just too damn many.
Sarah is growing so big and has a total of 6 teeth with another on its way if the red cheeks and munched fingers are anything to go by. She has been doing swimming lessons as well, we're lucky enough to have an indoor heated hydrotherapy pool close by. So the only cold bit is the dash to the change rooms for me. The instructor has started dunking her during the lessons which freaked me out a bit but Sarah seemed to like, until of course I tried it and she cracked a nana at me. And yep, she has started to 'fall' off the side into the water during 'Humpty Dumpty' as well. She preempts it and dives right in.
Shes not crawling yet but can still get around by rolling. She also loves standing up and will step really well so maybe she will walk without really crawling. I try to give her lots of floor time but the little terror has started pulling herself up. Definately time to lower the cot down to its bottom level!
I'm planning two partied for her as well. She'll be having one up here in Bundy and the other back in Ipswich. The Bundy one will be more like a BBQ dinner for a few family members, got her cake and invites in place and the rest will be very straight forward. Where as the Ipswich one will be hardcore, more people ,bigger deal as it will be on her actual birthday. That one will be cupcake themed with invites, cake, decorations and of course cupcakes all over the place. Should be a blast. I was lucky enough to grab the last pink smart trike from Target so that is her big pressie and then shes got heaps of other small things to open, play with for a second and then discard in favour of the wrapping paper or box. :cryinglaugh:
Anyway, better get dinner organised for us all...take care and I'll be back soon to chat more and hopefully keep up with all you Chatty Kathys.
