Leemar, I was wondering how your weekend went. I am very envious lol Happy anniversary

    Hayley, where are you?

Noni, yay for sleeping, that is really fantastic that she slept for so long AND in the cot!

Rainy, IKWYM, these boys love their booby! Often when I manage to prise it out of W's mouth he quicky reaches over and grabs it with his hand before I can slip away and lays there fondling it! LOL at the risotto incident

Noni, I hope you can find some sort of group for Asha, it makes a huge difference to get out of the house. It stops W from getting bored and cranky and stops me from going insane lol

Seems we pushed our luck going out for a picnic on Sunday. The day was clear but it was quite cold (there was a small sprinkle of snow when we were setting up!) and now he seems to have a temperature. He spent all of playcenter clinging to me and sitting quietly on my lap which never happens. Now he has been asleep for 2.5 hours which is a day sleep record.

Oh, she's awake. Will try and BBL.

Rainy - great news on the day stay, fingers crossed it works out.

oohhh leanne your weekend sounds lovely. i want a tiffany engagement ring. come to think of it, i just want an enegagement ring!

    cally- how's katie going????

arte- hope W is ok. yes L grabs mine too. one time he even reached over, grabbed it and started sucking it through my nightie! charming
i got some of that wedela powder, i'll give him some when he wakes up.

well i've made a decision today to stop doing my head in so much over the sleep issue. i'm just going to keep doing what i've been doing over the next 3 weeks until the sleep school. i just feel like the more changes i try to make and the more books i read the more it's stressing me out and i'm getting upset and anxious iykwim?
today i just got in the car and drove to my dad's place. he chucked lewis in the ergo and we walked around the shops (i even got him to spend $50 on new bonds clothes for lewis at big W ha ha) and lewis eventually slipped off to sleep. i didn't look at the clock, i didn't care. i just need to chill out a bit i think. i feel like this new pg has given me a deadline that i have to get L sorted by. i'm doing my own head in and driving dp crazy!!

btw, does anyone know where you can buy bonds babywear online? there's a green tshirt i've been looking everywhere for. tried big w, kmart, myer, zodee and tsl- no luck.

Just quick from me - hands too cold to type LOL.

G, there are very few places that sell Bonds online. I know of one site, but their range is very limited - google 'littlebruiser' and it will come up as the first one.

Rainy, I got to that accepting state a couple of months ago (after a brief meltdown) - there comes a point where you just get zen and accept that your babies sleep sucks but that it won't go on forever lol. I know the new baby must be making it seem like you need it sorted NOW but remember they are still little and another 6 months will make a world of difference. I am going to give you my personal guarantee that Lewis will be merrily sleeping though the night long before little miss arrives I give about 1/2 a teaspoon of Weleda with about the same amount of water to him just before bed. It must taste o.k because he gets all excited when he sees it coming.

Bedtime, got to go feed him to sleep (just because I can't solve my own problem doesn't mean I can't give advice to others LMAO)

    Hi ladies
Well S had an awful night last night. She was grizzling in bed every half hour or so. Didn't wake up completely but was so not settled. Even worse when shes in the same room as us so we hear every peep. She woke up properly at midnight and I went to settle her but she felt really warm, so checked her temp and saw 38.3. Was not happy with that, so stripped her down and tried to cool her down with a damp cloth. She wasn't happy with that at all but was definately preferable to dunking her in the tub. She has since been completely unsettled all day and has not gone down for a sleep in her cot at all. Has dozed a bit on me but not deeply. Took her to dr who just said shes fine, made just a bit of a virus but her gums are inflammed. I reckon it's her 12month molars as she is munching her dummy to the back of her mouth on both sides.
Fingers crossed for a better night. Dr prescribed panamax so will give that a try tonight. I'm just paranoid about stripping her down too much as I don't want to give her a chill either, hard to get the balance there right.
I'm knackered today tho, fingers crossed for a good night. poor little munchkin.

Oh, woohoo as well...got my Gymboree order today and I love it. Only got to open one thing so far but can't wait to do little dress ups once S feels better.

Hope everyones bubs has a great sleep and no sickness...give us Mummies a break please babies!!!!

Hopefully bbl when she falls asleep and stays asleep...although I might pass out as soon as she does

    Hi girls!

just a quickie from me as i is tired tired tired!

G: we give Leila 1/3 of a teaspoon straight (just shove the teaspoon in her mouth) and she eats away at it (must taste good! LOL!) and then we follow it with a water chaser...i just give it to her when i can see she is grizzly with her gums.

Kate: feel for ya sista! those kind of nights really take it out of you. fingers-crossed for a better one tonight and that S gets better soon!

Leanne: woo hoo on a great weekend! so jealous of you right now!!

anyway, best be off...i think this is a world record shortest post for me!!

Aurelia nearly walked today, I think! She was standing up for ages and I tried to get her to come to me, but she fell forward lol. But she's totally got the standing thing down pat, now we just gotta get her to move those lil feet!

artechim, I think so too! I'm too excited. We've had a whole cluster of firsts lately.
noni e, you never know! Some kids just suddenly start out of nowhere. Aurelia started waving out of nowhere, and sticking her tongue out lol.

Cassius2, my stepdad rekons it's because they're really salty, though Aurelia also picks up the food she dropped at the dinner table up off the floor. We put a drop-sheet down and clean it after every meal so she can have seconds, then we empty what's left onto the lawn for the birds. So yeah, I think it's the salt plus they're small and fun to practice new fine-motor skills. I hope bubs sleeping gets better soon!

    Leemar, congrats on the anniversary!

Rainforrest, sleep is such a drama! I agree that just doing what works is best since you're going to sleep school anyway. Why put all the effort and stress into something that you might end up changing around anyway? Just rest as much as possible, you don't want to be warn out before #2 comes along!

Kate, poor bubs! I hope those pesky teeth break through soon so you can sleep again. Are you using gel or teething rings?

Rainy - thanks for asking, K's teeth seem fine after her knock the other day. Last night she banged her chin on the coffee table and we had more blood from a cut lip and the night before we also had a bump on the forehead. She's been in the wars the last couple of days! And I say well done for even attempting the risotto with a little one underfoot, I haven't done since the night before she was born (and DH came home late and I cried....)

BS - I find K walks when she doesn't mean to - if she is chasing after the cat around the lounge she will take that extra step that if she thought about it she would drop down for. Or if she is absorbed in playing with something, I'll notice she is often just standing there, not leaning on something. We had lots of good little steps yesterday, I think we did 5 in a row at one stage!!!

Trillian - how is A going?

re cat biscuits, my little sister loved them, she had constant cat breath. We ended up feeding the cat on top of the deep freeze.

Kate - how was S last night? Any more temps?

Cally - Well, she was a little less grizzly but still woke with a temp at midnight. Only just stupidly realised that panamax is just a knock off to panadol so is the same as I've been giving her anyway. Why did the stupid dr prescribe panamax when I told him that I was already giving her nurofen and dymadon alternatively. And stupid me for not realising even when I brought some panamax tablets for myself IN THE SAME TRANSACTION!!! Argh...no sleep + whinging baby = stupid mummy.

babysocks - I give S some homopathic teething tablets as well as bonjella. Shes not a fan of the bonjella and usually turns her nose up at the teething rings but loves the rusks so she munches on those.

Sorry for being a bit selfish with this but I just hate seeing her sick and not being able to do much to calm her down or make her feel better. Plus DH acted hard done by when I asked him to rock S to sleep last night...even after I had spent an hour and a half trying to bring her temp down and calm her down. 'Ohh, but I'm sooo tired...!' WTF!!!And I'm not...

    How was everyone elses night?

Whoops I am a bit behind, thought I'd better pop on and say I'm still alive hehe.

Things have been hectic around here, I have a full on week with appointments and dinners all over the joint. Also trying to finish an essay that is due next Monday ahh! Not to mention we are getting by on little sleep atm, Maddie has had a really bad cough now for 4 weeks and it isnt getting any better, in fact its getting worse so off to the doctor this morning. I actually think it is croup and I dont know if they can do anything for it? I might ask for antibiotics because its making her miserable at night and she isnt getting much sleep. She is still in bed now and its almost 9am which isnt like her. Not to mention the bl00dy outlaws stayed over on the weekend and dragged us all out to Kings Park for family pictures in the freezing cold, (which look revolting anyway because none of us wanted to be there) and since then Maddie's cough has worsened big time. God they do my head in. I wish we didnt have a spare bedroom, might have to bring plans for the second child forward a bit lol! Anyway enough outlaw whinging.

Seems we've had a few sick bubs and little adventurers this week!

Kate - Hope your little one gets well soon. I had the same problem with my DP last night, they dont seem to understand sometimes.

Hello to everyone else, bbl, gotta get M up for the doc.

MM, poor Maddie, hope she is feeling better soon

I think it is time to put some kid locks on the bathroom cabinet - yesterday I caught Will in there eating soap (not yummy lol) and this morning he was looking very pleased with himself walking down the hall shaking a box of tampons LMAO

ETA William said his very first word!!! It was 'duck' while playing in the bath. He has the Little People barn from toy library and has been snorting when he plays with the pig and saying Neigh when he plays with the horse but this is the first actual word. How exciting

Arte - well done on duck! I wouldn't be surprised if that was what K said soon. She loves her ducks.

Kate - hopefully S is feeling a bit better tonight and you can get some sleep.

MM - how did the doctor's appt go?

Okay so I've heard some people on hear talking about feeding to sleep and want to say THANK GOD! I thought I was the only one doing it and was sometimes embarrassed to admit it. I started off when S was born with good intentions of doing the whole feed play sleep thing but once she started solids her sleep started to go out the window and she would wake up through the night. So to save my sanity I would just pop the boob in and put her to sleep. We are still going strong with it and the only time she falls asleep without the boob is in the car or when she is exhausted. In which case, she only sleeps for about 30 mins before waking hungry.
I don't know what I'm going to do when she weans herself but god help me, I think I'm in for it. haha

Art - congrats on the first word!!! You must be so proud of him

MM - How did the appt go? Is she feeling better? and I hear you on the outlaws front, they seem to have their own way of thinking that sometimes doesn't include reality. Mine think that its okay to make as much noise as possible when S is asleep and then think that its all fun when she wakes up. I would suggest speaking up a bit...or maybe having a word to DH...?

K - S has had a couple of knocks as well. She had a beauty of a bump and bruise on her noggin from going ass up the other day and a few weeks back slipped and knocked her mouth on my shin. Blood everywhere and me panicking not sure what to do. Was a decent size split inside lip in front of teeth but didn't seem to bother her after 20 mins or so. Even had a nice fat lip from that one.

Hi to everyone else...hope we all have great sleep tonight

arte- i think lewis' first word will be something that rhymes with duck.
you're my best friend atm, thanks for your promise
the wedela didn't do too much for lewis, but i'm feeling so zen-like and i am relying on your guarantee of sleep before little miss comes along to get me through so i just don't even care anymore!

hayley- maddie must have caught that cough through the computer from lewis. he has had it for 6 weeks. it is the whole reason the sleep is so stuffed now. it is such a pain, and it takes ages to get better.
good luck with your assignment. is it on pedagogy or something stupid like that? aagg i hated teaching assignments- they taught me nothing about teaching. you learn when you're actually on the frontline, believe me!

kate- i am the queen of the feed to sleep. i'm thinking of buying a breastfeeding pillow that holds twins and just chucking one baby on each boob and sitting here for 6 months

cally- oohh poor katie. she sounds like she's having a rough time atm. i think she's gonna be one tough little cookie

now i went to spotlight today to buy a toybox to put all lewis' crap in and i saw the cutest little girl in the queue and her mum kept caling out at her 'Maya, Maya' and i thought- 'omg!! i love that name!'
came home, told dp, he said it reminded him of mayo, and could he have some on his chicken please?

Well turns out M has bronchiolitis again! Just not so bad this time. I feel like a terrible mum because she has been coughing for weeks and I dismissed it thinking it would clear up soon enough. Actually maybe its more I feel like a paranoid mum running to the doctor every week lol. Anyway I have been trying to make myself feel better about it by telling myself that its only worsened in the last 5 days or so, which it has but still...mean mummy or what!? She's on antibiotics now. Just so sick of M being sick all the time, it really really sucks. I am so worried about whether or not she will be fine when we take off o/seas.

RF - Lol yes my DP often says the word that rhymes with duck, especially after being at work with the lads. He is constantly getting in trouble from me hehe. 6 weeks oh no maybe you should go to the doctor too? Poor Lewis thats a long time for having a cold. Maya is beautiful. My friend has a DD called Jamaya. Essay was on interpersonal skills, what a load of rubbish, I seriously dribbled on about nothing much lol. How am I going to get through 4 years of this, how did you do it!? Oh and I am hanging out for an engagement ring too lol.

Kate - We practically feed to sleep at night time too. Whoops. Oh well you do what you have to do. They will grow out of it soon enough. As for telling DP to have a word in his parents ears, no go, he wont do it, so its left up to me and I dont want to be seen as the horrible DIL.

Arte - LMAO at Will and the tampons, thats too funny. Congrats on the talking!

Leemar - So jealous of your hotel get away! Must have been fabulous.
