As well as the trike, K is going to get a book (we got Snugglepot and Cuddlepie for Christmas and I am planning on getting the whole set of stories that are bound the same for future birthdays and Christmases), some toys for the beach and I am going to hit Little Red Engine in Phillip and get her something from there. I want to get some more toys that we can play with her, eg puzzles or something. She loves stacking cups and putting rings on a pole and her Tupperware Shape O. I've no idea what the rest of the family is getting her, hopefully not too many little toys.
We have concrete edging put all around the garden beds yesterday and it has a black oxide sprinkled on top to give it colour. The cat has walked all through it and now has black paws and there are footprints all through the laundry so she is banished for an uncertain amount of time!
Jealous of your washing machine Trill - ours isn't old, but it has started doing this thing where it gets stuck on the first rinse cycle. So far it has been going for more than 1.5 hours and that was with me pushing the forward button! I think it starts to get unbalanced so it fills up again in an effort to rebalance itself. Which isn't good for our water bill!
MD - glad that everything worked out well with H. well done at losing a kg.
Clare - yay for L's sleeping
Cinta - Cessa was born on K's due date. That would have been very scary, those last little weeks. Do they think she stopped growing because you were so sick?
Nappy rash is looking heaps better. I gave up on Bepanthen (think it will find a new home in the bin) as it was doing nothing. Slapped lots of Amolin on it yesterday which made a big difference as was a day in disposables rather than cloth. My magic cream is Penaten which comes in a blue tin. Waiting for a pharmacy order, I refuse to pay $15 for 55g around here when I can get it over the internet for $22 for 166g! We've done a bit of no nappy time, but with the coldness and the mobility she has now, I'm too scared of the mess!
She worked out yesterday how to open the safety gate. I think it will be right if we tighten it, but this morning she escaped and went and woke up DH while I was getting her breakfast. Poor thing, he couldn't sleep in until 7:15 today!
MM - glad that she is feeling better.
Well we are heading into town once she wakes up. Will do the grocery shopping and then am having lunch with PIL. Will see how we are going for timing and might let them babysit for a little while so I can have a wander around the shops without a pram.
Just wanted to post a quickie on here to say YIPPEE...400 POSTS FOR ME!!! Not anywhere near as many as some of you other chatty ladies but seeing as I went AWOL for a while not a bad effort.
As for presents, well smart trike of course, as well as Gymboree clothes, shes got a little fisher price my first doll that fits in the walker/stroller (my sister has got that for her), plus some bath toys (came today in mail from sendatoy) and...oh damn, forgot what else. I'll have to pull it all out and check. I just keep finding things that I love. I'm seriously considering the ladybug wheely bug but might hold off until Christmas for her.
Can't do personals atm, have no brain or memory. Off to baby clinic to weigh S...
Birthday Pressies- Ok I know I am going to be different but the smart trike is for a chrissy pressie... for liv's birthday we got a music chair (sits in chair and has a book that play music on the side), a Pony scooter thingie (you know sits on and scootes with feet around the house) and a Learning purse and a push walker that has a basket in the front for her dolly... her pony scooter thingie has a basket in the front for a dolly too. So Cute. OMG 3 more sleeps....
Kate- Congrats on the 400 post...
Cally- Glad the nappy rash is looking better. Liv gets it and I put cansten cream on it.
Noni- Bummer on the fight.
MD- I am glad H is ok at school now. It breaks my heart when kids are bullied.
Kate, forgot to say I read your birth story I had that indian doctor for one of my appointments, I was sooo glad he wasn't around when W was born because it is really helpful to be able to understand your doctor What is your sisters name? Maybe she was one of the midwifes I had - I had two good ones and one stupid one that tried to get me on a fit ball when I couldn't even lift my arm for blood pressure (too tired and too much gas lol)
Trill, your new washing machine sounds great. We have a little 5.5kg one, the IL's have a 9kg one and are willing to swap but we live in different islands so I don't see it happening.
MD, that is great news about H. Hope it keeps up. I think she and I would have been great friends, I was a nice but strange child too - I collected cat food boxes, I packed a sad if mum got the cat biscuits in bags instead lol I don't know WTF I was thinking We seriously aren't getting much more than the trike, maybe one good inside toy and a couple of cheapy things but that is about it.
Rainy - how is L's sleep going? Don't despair if you are back to many wake ups, somewhere deep in his mind a little light has just gone on and he has learnt that he can actually sleep without you. It may take some time, but you should hopefully see an upward trend now. Is he about 10.5 months? That is when W started to improve (and another bub but I can't remember who), there must be some sort of developmental leap around then?
Noni, we are thinking of getting a ukelele too, W loves to play with DH's guitar
Cally, I forgot that you use cloth, what sort do you use?
I think I might make an offer on a house today. We went to look at it yesterday and it is much bigger than the company house we have, and they are about to build a house on the back section here so we won't have a yard and will have to listen to construction for months. We have also had a couple of problems with the housing manager here and DH doesn't want it getting back to his boss. The other day the housing manager came and asked if I would be home next friday so they could put up some net curtains. I said I wouldn't be here and asked if we could do it another time, then he snapped "No" and asked if he could just come in and do it anyway. I said I didn't really like people in my house when I'm not home and he said 'you are making things really difficult', then shoved his car in reverse and took off!
Hi everyone
Slacko here again
I haven't been able to read through the posts but just wanted to pop in and say hi.
My little bubba is going to be ONE tomorrow.
She's such a little cutiepatootie - some of her most recent achievements are:
climbing on top of chairs and standing up
escaping out of the highchair
escaping out of the shopping trolley
eating rocks out in the garden
walking a couple of steps
saying ' uh-oh' when she drops something and 'ta' when she is given something.
she pretty much weaned herself last week. She would pull off and say 'guck' and then give me a little bite. I was terrified she was going to bite me each feed and i was quite tense, which probably didn't help with my flow.
We are having a party on Sunday (joint one for her and Zoe who is turning 5 )
I've just stuffed the Pinata's with lollie bags and have bought everything to fill the party bags. Pass the parcel is organised and i'm making a number 1 and 5 cake. I've ordered helium balloons and spent way too much money all around lol.
I sat up and put the Smart trike together last night. At about 11:30 i gave up and will leave if for dh tonight. We also bought her a talking telephone - she puts just about anything up to her ear and pretends to talk.
anyway, i'm so sorry for the selfish post, my plan is to jump back on here next week and catch up with how you're all going.
Arte - I'm sure you would've been good friends, in fact I'm pretty sure we'd all get on really well in IRL! LOL at the cat food boxes. DD collects boxes endlessly too, she's always planning some creative project with them. She hides them in her room and every few months I tow them all out to the recycling while she's at school. I've got my fingers crossed for your offer, how exciting, you must PM me a piccy if you're successful!!
Loving hearing what all our bubs are getting for pressies. Leanne we are giving E the pink pony ride-on too!! It was the little dolly basket on the front that was cinched the deal here! Soooo girly, never bought anything so pink like that for DD1. LOL. E's also getting a handmade dolly from the markets. On one side she is sleeping and on the other side she is awake, you swap the bonnet to hide the face you don't want LOL. So cute. She's also getting a mousie walker wagon and matching boikido blocks. And I've got about a zillion books too. Can't help myself.
Sherie, the Little Red Engine Shop in Phillip that Cally mentioned has the Radio Flyer things. I'm sure (but not 100%) I saw a wagon there recently You could ring them and see if they'd post it to you, or I could pick it up and post it if you need me to. I love those old fashioned wagons, DD1 had a nasty plastic one but used it for years and years.
Kate well done on hitting 400! You've been making up for your AWOL time since you've been back on LOL.
Cally glad the nappy rash is looking better. I've found Amolin to be consistently the best, only rarely have I resorted to using Canesten and sigmacort together. I love that you'll be buying the set of books for K. She'll appreciate that when she's much older!
Noni sorry to hear you've had one of those horrible over-nothing fights. Is DH going ok or is he having issues with depression again? I heard somewhere that fish oil is supposed to work wonders, maybe give that a go. I've been thinking I might start taking it or some EPO on a regular basis too, I keep forgetting my preggy vits and my skin has turned horrible, it looks like I have acne or something. Ukelele is an excellent idea, she'd love that !!
ETA - Jazmum I'm sooo excited for little HR!! Enjoy the day tomorrow if we don't see you again before then!!
hello everyone - so much going on in here, i dont think i van even TRY to do personals LOL!!! Will answer what i remember and so sorry if i miss anyone/anything!
Jazmum - SO WONDERFUL to hear from you and enjoy the party!! It sounds GREAT! xxx
Sherie - i also love those radio flyer toys... and thanks MD for the tip, will pop into little red engine when i get back and get N one (maybe, if I dont spend too much in Bali!)
Noni - sorry about the fight, we all have them... did you go to the dinner? how is asha these days? more settled? have you been having some mama time?
Rainy - how you feeling??? how is L? have all the things you boght arrived and how did you hide them from DP???
Kate - congratson 400 posts... and may i say it is so nice to have you back! I missed you when you went AWOL!
Speaking of AWOL - WHERE IS RENEE????? Come back!!!! I miss you and want to hear how rory is!
I also really mis Queenie - MD are you still in touch with her?? Pls tell her i say hi and hope all is well with her and S. I miss ella too, but i dont think she has been on for AGES!
Geez I sound all nostalgic!!
For N's bday I havent bought a thing yet would you believe??? Dont worry I have been scoping things out - think i will get him a wheely bug and maybe a wooden walker with blocks or something like that. decided not to go too overbroard this yr as he wont know much.. and he will get lots from other people. My mum bought him a rocking horse which is on its way to us now.. and i know my SIL has also sent something...i love a musial idea - love the eukelele idea and may also get one of them and/or a wooden drum.. N LOVES music and both our families are v into music so i guess it is inevitable that i will have a house full of noise!
Having a good tme in melb, work has been busy but N is in such good spirits and so much fun.. have also benn bringing him into bed with me each night when he wakes around 11 or 12 for snuggles - hmmm is that for me or him??? it is lovely!! Busting to get to BALI.... 2 sleeps to go!!
lots going on. just briefly, L has been sleeping really well. will go for about 6 or 7 hours now without waking. it's great. i've decided not to go to sleep school. we just decided that we were on a bit of a good run atm and didn't want to confuse things iykwim? i know there are people desperately waiting on a list to get in so i didn't feel comfortable taking up a place when my heart's not really in it.
did everyone see L with his fake mum and dad? what did you think md??
i didn't think it was a very good shot of L- i suppose the mum and dad looked good though.
i got my cradle rock package- ohhh gorgeous. the oobi sizes seem to be a lot more generous this season. i bought him some boots in size 2-3 years and they are wayyy too big- he'll grow into them though. he got the cutest 2 sets of shorts omg!!! so far dp hasn't cottoned on- mainly cos my dad bought L a heap of clothes from myer the other day so i've just kinda mixed them all in together iykwim? dp is clueless about these things anyway. i can go to the hairdresser and get a full cut and colour and he won't even notice.
md- glad evrything seems to be getting a little better for H. have you been happy with that exec teacher?
pp- enjoy bali. i miss queenie and ella too. i miss liddle pixie as well. i was wondering about renee today- i might write her a msg on fb.
arte- do you mean you're going to buy a house? i'm confused!
what are you girls getting dh/dp's for fathers day????
Art - My sisters name is Aynsley, she would have been 5-6 months pregnant at the time. Looks heaps like me if you check out my site or facebook. So many great middies up there but then you always get one who is set in their ways and don't listen to you. Dr M was a great dr throughout the pregnancy. I had to visit him about S turning breech at one point (possibly having to do the manual turning thing). It was just I was so emotional that I couldn't hear anything or concentrate. Luckily I had my sister there to decipher and translate into laymans terms.
MD - Here I am going on about 400 posts and I look at yours and see 4000 approaching. :woot: lol
JaZaH - for H weaning. But for all her accomplishments. Good luck with the party and HAPPY BIRTHDAY HANNAH for tomorrow (in case I forget)
Well I've got a woohoo or two today. Had to take my car in to get a remote control beeper coded (so now I can beep into my car instead of having to go to drivers door and turn the key twice to open S door or the boot - first woohoo) and had a walk around town as I waited. I called into my favourite toy shop and low and behold guess what I see in the front window... (suspense filled music)...a LADYBUG WHEELYBUG. Yippee, I was stoked. After hearing about them on here I searched online and found them. I was going to get one for S for Christmas of the internet but can instead put one on layby for her. Also found the Boikido stuff there, so am going to get the percussion table thing and the blocks and oh god, i dunno what else. So theres woohoo 2!
Whoops better go and do another load of washing...BBL
Edit - PP Thanks for the kind remark. It's nice to be missed lol. I think its beautiful that you have snuggles together, S and I have a play in bed together before breakfast and if she ends up going back to sleep she stays in bed with me.
