Happy Birthday Elisabeth!!
Happy Birthday to the gorgeous Miss E! I hope you are having a great day with your Mummy and big sister!
H, Erin was like M is with the self feeding - she wouldn't have a bar of me trying to feed her from about 9mths old, so I just let her feed herself finger foods and I would sit there and slip in a spoon of mashed stuff in between kwim? It was a PITA for sure, but that worked well for us. Fingers crossed that she gets the all-clear for her ears when you take her back to the Dr. LOL at you watching 90210 - I hated it the first time round in the early 90's - you young 'uns probably wouldn't remember that LMAO ;) And the MMR is Measles, Mumps and Rubella. I actually had German measles (rubella) as a child and didn't suffer too badly from it and still have immunity from it, so I am prepared for the JIC he does get it and know how to deal with it.
Clare, L sounds just delightful to me - so glad you got a MCHN that thought so too! She's a tiny bundle of energy from the sound of it LOL.
Hey Andie! don't you just love it when they wear themselves out? Makes it easier to put them to bed that's for sure.
Arte, I always get a bit teary when they've had their first birthdays. It's so special to think back on those early days.
Kate, LOL at you passing on your temper. Has she been OK with the vomiting?
I had Alister outside this morning while I was hanging clothes out and by golly he's going to be one to watch like a hawk! I make sure the gates are all closed so he can't get out of the yard, but this morning he managed to squeeze himself through a gap in one of them and off he went! When he saw me coming he just sat down to throw a tanty and it was in the middle of an ant's nest of all things! lucky they didn't all come charging out. Paige was a bit of a bolter too, but I think he's going to be worse. Not that he can get into any harm if he gets out of the yard, but it's coming up harvest in the next few months and there will be trucks and utes tearing past the house all the time.
HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY MISS E!!!! I am sure you are having a gorgeous bday with your Mum and big sister and that your Daddy is missing you very very much!
MD - Good work on getting some house stuff done. I would have gone for the emails stuff over the washing first ...lol HAPPY BIRTHDAY E!!!
Clare - Thats what we end up doing...depending on what time it is. If its too early we try to put her back to sleep but anywhere from 5.30 onwards is quiet time in bed with a bit of boob and quiet play. Wow on L's 7.8kg...I agree with Sherie on the tiny bundle of energy. I reckon as long as they look healthy and are happy then it doesn't matter on weight. You girls have taught me that and I'm going to keep repeating to remind myself. She feeds well and doesn't have any problems so I'm happy.
MM - you must be so excited about your trip. I hope M is feeling heaps better and you have a smooth holiday. Are you going to be back for her birthday? I can't remember how long you were going for.
Sherie - S seems fine with her mini vomits. Didn't have one yesterday so thats good. Must just be the teeth thing. Lol at A cracking a tanty when he saw you coming.
BBL
HAPPY BIRTHDAY MISS E!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:dance::dance:
Happy Birthday Elisabeth  Hope you have a fantastic day!
MM, have you had your hair cut? It looks great! (sorry if I am a bit behind the times, DH just fixed the internet so now FB pics actually load lol). Bet you are excited about the trip. Hope your in-laws don't mind you did the switch with the adjoining rooms LMAO
Trill, Sounds like A is going to keep you busy lol W has been doing heaps of those sit down tanties, luckily never on an ant nest though lol (BTW I remember 90210 from the first time round too, now I feel old!)
Clare, bummer that your mum had to go home. It makes such a difference to have your family around. Bet L thinks she is soo neat with the finger walking in the shops, so cute.
Queenie, forgot to say that is absolutely fantastic news about S's hips!
W had his first chunky vomit today. All over me. I think he swallowed a heap of snot/phlem when I put him in bed, then he started chucking up everywhere. Poor bubba. He hasn't had any coughing illness before, it isn't very nice hearing him all congested.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY MISS E!!! HOPE YOU HAVE A FABULOUS DAY!! :happybirthday:
Will be back later to catch up
Happy birthday Elisabeth!!!!
LMAO Arte, I sooo hope I dont get caught out on that one! Can you imagine adjoining rooms with the inlaws, can just imagine MIL coming through the door while we are in the middle of something HAHA! Good god that would be terrible. I am planning on having a romantic break, well as romantic as it can be with a 12 month old in a cot next to our bed! I cut my hair shorter a few months back now, actually I am having another cut tonight as it's getting long again. Well thats good that W has made it to 12 months without a coughing illness, I hope he gets better soon.
Trillian - Oh no what a terror, love how he stopped to chuck a tanty, I love it when they do this. Oh thats scary with the tracks going past, you will have to really watch him but I am sure you are pro with that having had 3 others grow up on a farm. I was never allowed to watch the original 90210, I was too young and it was too grown up for me lol. Yes this self feeding is a pain but at least this morning she let me feed her weetbix.
Kate - Glad the vomiting has subsided, must have been teeth. Only going for 8 days, bet the time will fly. Never mind we have decided that we will have at least one holiday a year from now on so once this is over I've got something else to look forward to.
Must get back to packing....can you believe this morning I have woken up with a sore throat and a headache. AHHH trying to ignore it in the hopes that it will buzz off.
Have a great time MM if I dont get back on tomorrow!! Ha ha I cant wait to hear how the inlaws take the room chgs, i am still in shock they arranged adjoining rooms. that said we are doing a weekend away with the ils in oct, and they booked for us to share a house also with my BIL and SIl and nephew, even tho we said 3 apts would work better... hmm so lets see how that goes!!! I am sure you will have a FAB time cant wait to hear all about it. you will be able to do some gorgeous shopping there too, KL is awesome for shopping!
Arte - yuk on the vomit, i am sure it is the phlegm. lucky you with this being the 1st coughything he has had, but i know how awful it is so i hope he is over it soon... I also remember 90210 from the 1st time, it was my treat for the week!
Sherie - another gorgous alister story - he cracks me up - i LOVE your stories!!!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY MISS E Have a wonderful 1st Birthday:happybirthday:

And everyone is ****ing me off too so ok rant over....
Sorry but I will catch up later ....
Oh Leanne, you poor thing! You sound like you need a long hot bath and a cup of tea . Do they know what was wrong with your toe?
Pregpan, that would be a wee bit more than I could handle on holiday LOL.
Arte, I have been there, done that before with the chunky vomit and it's beyond gross
H, I forget what a romantic getway is like, you'll have to fill me in when you get back LMAO.
Sorry, not been posting alot. bit of lurking, not much typing!
Missed Will's birthday yesterday, so HAPPY belated birthday little man. Arte- that is pretty impressive not to have had a cough. Good immune system.
And happy birthday to Miss E for today! I can't believe these babies are all one. How'd she like opening the pressies MD?
Speaking of coughs poor Lu sounds like she she is coughing up a lung every time i put her down for a sleep ATM. Got the vapouriser going but not sure if it helps. Can someone remind me of the vicks on the feet remedy? Is it under socks or over socks? Can you tell placenta dementia is in full swing!
Leanne- you are haiving a crappy time, hope things improve. Toe infection sounds a bit nasty.
MM- Have a wonderful holiday, i think annual holidays should be compulsory! hmm better start saving!
Kate- Wierd you mention new random vomiting- Lu has started doing the same thing, i guess it's teeth, she is cutting two at the moment.
Lu has a new word. Wow. So she says it over and over all day. It's a bit funny. Had to have her hips checked, she walks with her R foot turned out, but seems it's muscular thank goodness. She also has a recently discovered heart murmur. I know that 99 times out of 100 they are benign, so i'm not too worried, but having it checked by a paed all the same. She has also developed eczema, happened when we were in QLD. The poor kid is in the wars a bit lately.
Has anyone used the inner health plus powder for kids with eczema? It is reasonably new. I bought some, but havn't started her on it yet. Apparently in the trials there were amazing results for women taking it in their last trimester helping their babies not to develop eczema. Might take it this time.
Just thought i should stop lurking and post to say hi, so :hello:
Well I had something very nice happen to me...the not-good-looking parcel man came to the door and he brought me my Very Qwn Care Package. Woo Hoo! I feel soooo spesh! It came all the way from overseas from our very own Arte! What a hunny you are my dear. You've absolutely made my week. I can't thank you enough. What an entertaining assortment of goodies it contains too.
Thanks everyone for your birthday wishes for Elisabeth, I can hardly believe she is 1. WUN!!! Already! It has been such a good year, although I feel like I spent slabs of it in an altered state of consciousness LOL. My littlest lovely has brought us so much joy and wholeness, I can't even imagine what life would've been like in that time if we didn't have her. I feel so lucky.
She opened a few presents this morning, she didn't really get the idea of ripping off the paper, just kept pointing at the pictures and chatting. Biggest hit was the ducky book, closely followed by the horsie. We've got a couple more things for her which we will give her on Sunday when it's her party.
Hey everyone you'll have to look out for our birth story as I feel it's time to write it now. I'll post it sometime over the next few days.
Ange, well done on the de-lurking :) - good tip on the inner health plus stuff. Might look out for it at the chemist as we're all a bit prone to skin things here.
Trill, LOL at A's tanty in the ant nest. E's constantly clonking herself on things when she cracks a tant! You'd think she'd have learnt already...
Leanne - big :hug:s to you, sounds awful. It's nearly the weekend and boy you've earnt it this week! Hope it all gets better and quickly too!
Noni, anything happening at your end? You've been quiet lately.
Delighted BTW that Queenie dropped past! Lovely to hear S's progress.
MM, the body can sometimes fight off a bacterial infection by itself, they usually only go for the ABs once it's gone past a certain point. We've been having fun and games with the eating as well, especially this week when she's off her food as it is. She sprayed porridge all over the family room this morning. Yuck.
Clare, to you missing your mum already! I kwym, I felt a bit that way after spending the weekend with friends.
Arte, it wouldn't be as frustrating if the little monkey knew how to hang on properly, instead she's constantly plopping over and crying! Argh! She's been a bit happier though so hopefully not too clingy while I'm trying to get everything ready for the party.
AHHH I am absolutely spewing, the friggen airline has mixed up our seats!! DP will be in the middle of the plane while I am on my own with Maddie & her bassinet, as there are no two seats with a bassinet left. So peeved as we booked this flight way back to April. Had a whinge to the travel agent but she didnt care. I've never been on an overseas flight before let alone with a baby, this is going to be so crapola! :wall:
Hi MD sorry for my negative post, so lovely to hear how much you've enjoyed your first yr with E.
MM- I'd ring the airline direct and explain the situation. That is really unfair. You need his support and help during the flight. I am sure they can wangle something.......
H, maybe when you are on the plane you could ask the person next to you if they don't mind swapping if they are alone? Would be worth a shot at least. That's shocking customer service that the travel agent is so blase about it all.
Arte, that's such a generous thing you did for MD.
I'm really glad you've had such a great day Marydean. I'm looking forward to reading your birth story.
Ange, my money would be on Lu having a heart murmur because she is sick with a cold - most children will get one at some stage during their life and often when they are sick. But they do go on their own. If it were a serious one, you would know - she'd have a blue tinge to her lips and skin from a lack of oxygen. Erin was born with one from having a small hole in her heart. I don't think she has it now though. All it is, is the sound that the blood makes as it is pumped through the ventricles in the heart - like a wooshing sound.
Trillian .. for sure! Putting them to bed yesterday was great!
Jack got his 3rd molar point through this morning. He was rubbing his eyes thro dinner so i put him to bed once he was finished but he's done nothing by cry :( and i actually had to comfort him to sleep (its not something that i do so i guess he must really be unsettled).
