Sounds like its the day for cake tanties. I attempted to make a white choc mud cake in our getting-beyond-funny-crappy-oven and I had it in on less than 100deg and it started to burn after half and hr in there. I opened the oven door and nearly had my eyebrows taken off from the glare of the heat LOL it was that hot. Ever since we had all the power upgraded the thermostat on the oven has been stuffed but I took the chance simply because I didn't have the time to take it to MIL's to make it. So I rang a bakery in Wagga and arranged a 14 x 28 inch choc mud cake slab to be made so DH can pick it up when he's over there tomorrow. When he came in just after I cracked a narna at it burning, he said he'll just buy one already decorated and I started crying and said no, cause it had to be a #1 cause the other kids all had a #1 cake and I think he got scared at the sight of me crying because he backed out the door saying 'you just call a bakery and work it out and I'll pick it up' LOL.

Marydean, LOL at you threatening H with staying home bored with a cranky pants mum. It will be new for her and she'll love playing with the other kids anyway. I'm every so happy though that she's happy now and has friends coming over in the hols though.

Noni, I really hope you are better before Saturday. We have 12 adults and 8 kids coming on Sat too, but it's just a BBQ lunch.

HI to everyone else - I still have a heap of cleaning to do and I'm hiding from it ATM

happy bday Asha!! I hoep you have a great day - and also that Noni is feeling better!
Also to Tia - come back Supa and tell us how T is - happy bday gorgeous!

Rainy - so glad you are feeling better - you poor thing. how is darling L? What a wonderful Dad you have.... that kind of help is priceless.

MD glad you have something sorted for school hols - i am sure H wil have a wonderful time and also that you will all then enjoy the 'care free' days. how many days is she goingto fdc? i am so sorry you were feeling down, glad you are doing better - remember i am bust a pm away if you need anything or to escape.... (i know i always sound busy but a friend in need...) hugs.

Cally - i am sure K will adjust to the new routine etc - but thinking of you i know how hard it is to leave them and the guilt and other feelings that come along withit. mainly i miss N when i am at work. but i also enjoy working - how are you feeling at the endof week 1? enjoy this weekend!

Clare - how are you? i am worried not doing better as we didnt hear from you yest, i hope no chopping going on and you are just resting up.

all ok here though N had a TERRIBLE night last night - he woke up every half hr til 3am!!! seriously. hell. maybe molars/teeth? he has been drolling a lot and i am sure teething but cant see a thing - this is worse than with any other teeth though. i also thought maybe he had a tummy ache.. oh i dont know... anyway he is napping now!

DH back tomorrow,he is flying into melb so we are meeting at the airport and flying home together.

ETA - N has been waking up and being 'up for the day' at 5-5.30am the last week - anyone else bub doing this? i am thinking it is bc daylight savings near so more light? not loving it LOL!

    Happy Birthday Asha and Tia!!

Well I got the cold shoulder last night - walked in the front door, she came running, I knelt down with arms out for a hug, she looked at me and then went back to her Duplo! Not impressed.

PP - K is sleeping in this week compared to how she was going. She is waking up a little bit after 6. It's been great as we have had the monitor off and mum has been getting her up all week. I've been waking soon after, but it's good having my body decide when to get up rather than K's! Only one more week until daylight savings!

MD - glad you got some care sorted out for H to give you a bit of a break.

Rainy - your dad sounds wonderful

Trillian - sorry your cake didn't work, it did sound funny though! You're getting a new oven soon aren't you?

Rainy - we got the fireworks ones.

Leemar - hope the kids are feeling better today.

cally- i love the fireworks ones, they're unreal. i wish they made boys' bloomers.

pp- your sleep sounds bad you poor thing, i bet you it is those big nasty teeth coming through.

oz- you'll have to let us know what the clairvoyent says- maybe another baby?! ha

dp is home from work today so i've gotta pretend i'm doing stuff- i've already done 2 loads of washing and washed the dishes. next i'm going to clean all the couch cushions and wash the dog.

Happy Birthday Asha! Have a lovely day playing with your new dolly and puzzle! And Happy Birthday to Tia, too, if SupaB pops in - hope you have a great celebration!

Noni, so pleased you've got the back up plan for your party, hope you're feeling well enough to enjoy it a bit! LOL at you shedding a tear this morning, sooo sweet! You're such a gorgeously devoted mummy and I know the year has been tough for you at times so make sure you give yourself a big pat on the back!

Trill I was PMSL when I read about your DH backing out of the door! That's hilarious, I'm sure my DH feels that sometimes too. Slab cake is a very sensible option, I'm guessing you're still going to cut it into the "1" cake?

Kate, I'd love to see a clairvoyant around about now, I'm due for a reading. Only problem is I don't know any good ones in Canberra (except me and I can't read for myself, LOL).

Leanne sorry to hear you've all had the lurgies, NOT FUN! If you move to Tasmania you can have winter all year round hehe. Better still New Zealand, it's closer to Antartica, isn't that right Arte? LOL

Rainy PMSL that you're putting on a housework show for your DP. I get the wind up my bum just before DH gets home from a big trip, so he doesn't realise what an unkempt state we've been living in for months. It's all about marketing . Sorry L is so sick, all those BFeeds will be doing his immune system wonders, aren't you glad you hung in there with it now? (big pat on the back)!

PP - yay for your reunion with DH! Thanks for the offer of support. I'm pretty bad, I never tell my friends until I'm past my bad patch, it's quite counterproductive really (*slaps self on hand*). Anyway, feeling chipper again and that's what matters. BTW thanks for your cousin's details, I'll hang on to them in case i need them.

Cally *hugs* on the cold shoulder. Just wait until she chucks a tanty cos she wants to stay at the carers (happens to everyone, at least once)...we mums always take it personally but it's really about the toys, I'm sure! LOL

Well I was picking DD1 up from FDC yesterday, and Missy E crawled off and about 10 seconds later she reemerged, triumphantly, pushing the FDC's shopping trolley toy. After one lap she started giggling maniacally and RUNNING around the house pushing this thing. And the Tanty when it was time to leave (!!) I'm so sure she'd walk if only she'd give up her psychological dependence on walkers LOL.

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY ASHA!!!
    HAPPY BIRTHDAY TIA!!!

wow! two bubs having their first birthday!! how special is that!! congrats to the mummies and daddies!

Well I am still around. have been slowly (and i really mean slowly!) getting better. i can now move my neck with some ease! yipee! so it looks as though i will avoid the chop! although a part of me was hoping that they would just rip the tonsils out once and for all, but oh well.

Rainy: L is just gorgeous and yes, those oobi pants are the best! i have seen boys bloomers for oobi in the shops...the bat design ones...he would look so cool in those LOL!

MD: wow! i know that it sounds really far off, but 5 weeks??! it will be a flash in the pan! it feels like only a few days ago that you said 8 weeks. that is soo funny about the shopping trolley! IKWYM about them crying when leaving care! L gets sooo excited when she arrives and doesnt even look back when we leave and say goodbye. i try not to feel too rejected!

Leanne: oh man! the poor kiddly-winks! and poor you! hope you get some serious nap time!

Rainy: oh jeez girl! i reckon the washing up is a pretty good effort! but go with those nesting vibes! LOL!

PP: Yep, L was doing the same a few weeks back. thinking it was party time at 5-5.30 in the morning. not happy jan. i just fed her in bed and cuddled until either she was ready to go back to bed or it was time to get up. PITA tho'.

Oz: oohhh i wish i could see someone to do a reading for me. i have been itching to get it done...oh well.

AFM: well our news of the day is: Leila.....took.....a STEP TODAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG OMG OMG!!!!

Leanne - your poor boys. Hope you get some sleep tonight!

MD - lol at Miss E pushing the walker around, I'm sure she'll forget that she needs it one day.

ETA Clare - yay for Miss L taking a step!! And so glad that you are starting to feel better, we were worried you'd been all chopped up yesterday!

Happy 1st birthday to beautiful Asha & Tia!!!

Noni - Aw I shed a tear myself reading your post about crying during happy birthday. I have been wrapping pressies for tomorrow and I've also been bawling my eyes out today hahahaha. Good luck for Asha's party tomorrow, sounds like you've done a fantastic job. Also I second what MD said, you have had a few tough moments this year but you have done SO well and you deserve a big pat on the back.

Must say I was PMSL at all the cake stories, especially Kate stabbing the cake, Rainy hurling her cake over the balcony & Trillian losing her eyebrows BAHAHAHAHA!! Oh god I hope karma doesnt come back and bite me in the bum for laughing as I am making a number 1 cake tonight!

Andie - Happy belated birthday for Jack!

Falguni - Your farm sounds awesome. I hope all is going well with your pregnancy.

Rainy - Ahh no I hope the gastro has subsided. Its horrible not knowing if its just ms or a bug. I had the same once when I was pregnant and you just feel terrible.

MD - Sorry to hear you had a depressed few days there for a bit, but very glad to hear you are back on track. What a fantastic job you are doing with your girls, being on your own must be hard work. I'm glad its only 5 weeks to go YAY!!!!!!!! That will go fast.

Arte & Pregpan - I'm so excited for you two and wishing that you both fall pregnant very soon.

Clare - Wow you have been through the wars! Hope you are feeling much better? YAY for Leila taking a step!

Cally - How is work going? 500 odd emails that must have taken the whole day at least? I agree with pregpan, I miss M and often get the guilts while at work, but at the same time I think I need to work for myself, to keep myself sane. I think us mums will forever have something to feel guilty about now days anyway. Besides alot of mums these days work, for money & for a career, doesnt mean we dont put our children 1st.

Leemar - Hope you get your mumma sleep. Sorry to hear the boys arent well. Ear infections especially are terrible.

Katie - Hope the clairvoyant tells you everything you want to hear!

Just a quick update on M, its her bday tomorrow for a start. I've been emotional all day wahhh! She is also 'walking' around the house pushing her walker, or a pram, or even an empty nappy box. She follows me everywhere. Also she randomly stands up without needing to use furniture. I've also started her on cows milk with no problems at all.

Anyway hope you are all well, but I must go and pick up my ENGAGEMENT RING WOOOOO!
