MM - Sounds like you had a good holiday then, you'll need to put some photos up as well as a photo of the bling (subtle little guess there hehe)
Clare - Aww, poor thing about hospital. Sounds awful, hope you are feeling better with some good drugs to relieve the pain.
Rainy - I saw Ls photos on your gallery. Such a handsome little man, gorgeous shots. As for the maxolon, I'd ring someone to find out if they could have caused Ls sickiness or if it was a co-inky-dink.
As for me, yep was my first birthday as a mummy yesterday and DH and Sarah got me a voucher for a deluxe mani/pedi and another for a face and body treatment. Got the mani/pedi done yesterday and going back for the treatment in a few weeks. My MIL got me some gorgeous candle holder thingies and am heading down to Brissie this weekend for Sarahs party so might get some more pressies from family. Plus I get to open all Sarahs...ohh, I love pressies. And I can tear into them like a little kid instead of trying to be a mature restrained adult.
Got pancakes for lunch and corned beef for dinner and then yummy Freddo icecream cake for dessert! Noice.
Then tried to make Sarahs birthday cake for her bundy party tonight and the stupid cake topper wouldn't come off the backing sheet. Tried everything possible and I am so not happy! Looks stupid with nothing on top. Will post piccies later. So now I've got to try to find somewhere that I can get a birthday cake at short notice from. I so wanted to make her first cake
On the plus side, we now have another cake that looks okay just not for a first birthday.
Okay off to swimming then cake hunting...wish me luck
Clare, Rainy, Ange hope you are all feeling better very soon!!
Rainy, what a cute blondie in his Oobi pants
MD - I think DD would have been quite happy to feed for longer during the day, but I cut back because of work (and it has been nice having my body to myself during the day)
Sorry to keep you hanging, YES I AM NOW ENGAGED!!! Whoo hoo about time after 8 years and a bub lol. I still havent been able to get in touch with my parents, they are in the outback somewhere travelling around. The only people I have really told are my sisters (who screamed down the phone) and DP is calling his parents today. So its still kinda a secret so please keep it hush hush for a bit, but I just have to tell someone...
Ok so this is how it happened: DP ordered the ring two weeks before we went away, but they couldnt get it done in time. So of course it arrived the Monday after we got back. DP came through the door on Mon night after work with a huge grin on his face. I had Maddie all dressed up in a party dress (trialling bday outfits hehe) and I thought he was just beaming because he was a proud daddy. Then I noticed he looked nervous and he was trying to get to Maddie (to give her the ring for me to find in her hand) but kept looking at me. I asked him what did he have behind his back....and he pulled out a huge whopping ring. I said OMG and pushed him, I even told him to shut up I was so shocked lol. So I'm saying is this a proposal, are we getting married, are you for real etc etc. He got down on one knee & said will you marry me!? So of course I said yes in between my tears. All the while Maddie is sitting on the floor looking pretty in her dress but with a shocked look on her face because I'm yelling & screaming at DP. He made such a good choice, the ring is absolutely stunning, 18ct gold princess cut diamond (1.6 carat) claw set with shoulder diamonds (.28 carat). Its a ripper. Now I have to organise insurance for it today, I'm scared to wear it. Also I have dropped it at the jewellers as its a wincy bit too tight, so I'm getting it resized a bit & therefore cannot wear it till Friday when I collect it. I'm still in shock but sooooooooooo happy.
Happy Birthday Jack! I hope you've had a great day so far little buddy!
G, for you hun. Maxalon is prescribed when women need help with supply, so I doubt it would have been that? My money would just be on you both having a gastro lurgy.
Clare, for you too! I can't believe they are not going to take the tonsils out! I would be p1ssed orf if I were you.
Ange, I hope you get better soon too hun. It's hard being sick, so you do have to get by the best you can.
Glad to hear Cally that the return to work went well.
Hi to everyone else! Haven't had much time to post on here in depth at all. Took A for a MCHN visit today and she gave me a bit of grief about not vaxing him anymore. I told her that my Dr didn't have a problem with it and changed the subject. So at 1yr, 6 days My Lanky Pants is 81cm tall, 10.02kg and I think a 45cm head circumference. She said a few things about getting him off the bottle too, but I told her I think I will just do what I did with the other three as they turned out fine (They were all off the bottles completely by 18mths). I admit I was a bit angry at her when she's usually been on the same page as me I start getting 'directed' on how to do things.
I think Cally mentioned a while back about water? Alister is starting to drink a lot more too lately with the warmer weather. I have a few sippy cups about the place and he just picks them up and has a drink as he sees them. Not sure how much he would have in a day though.
I am working up the energy to clean up outside. DH is off shift till Sunday night, but he is flat out rebuilding a tractor so they can cut hay soon, so he isn't about to do all the outside stuff before the party.
Clare, that sounds terrible, hope that you don't need an op. Why the fark won't they take out your tonsils when they keep giving you so much grief?
Ange, I am sure no one thinks you are a bad mum, as you said you do what you have to to survive. Hope that is clears up soon.
Trill, bummer about the MCN going dictator on you. Wow, A is a long boy, I measured W the other day and he is only 74cm!
Kate, sucks about the cake, hope you can find another one in time. Yay for S learning how to climb down feet first, it is a relief when they figure that one out isn't it! I am waiting for W to realise that he can climb off the bed himself when he wakes up (sleeps in our bed) instead of laying there calling for me.
MD, how is H going at school now? Did the bully problem stay sorted? How long until DH is back?
Ozstar, I was looking at your pics on FB, Logan is such a cute little boy
Nothing happening here, W is a busy little beaver - found my shoes in his bath, bath toy in the dryer and I have no idea what he has done with my belt lol
Thanks ladies for the well wishes for Jack. He's had a good day so far.
Except that I'm not quick enough taking the toys out of the boxes!
Giving him pressi's one at a time so he can explore each one as he gets them.
Kate, I havn't had the chance to teach jack going down feet first instead of head first, as he's been too clever & taught himself how to get off things.
I started trying to potty train Alex the other day & thought wat the heck I'll see how Jack goes .. pretty good actually.
He's had two accidents in the last 24 hrs .. one was when the power went out last nite & i was too focused on finding candles & working out something else for dinner and the other was this morning when he was chasing Alex & Shay around a tent in the middle of the lounge room.
MM- i blame the pregnancy hormones, but i was crying reading about your lovely proposal! Sounds like a ring worth waiting for, congratulations!
Kate- happy birthday for yesterday, sorry, i'm a bit slow! Maybe you could find some figurines in a cake shop for the cake, or some kind of lollies? A shame to not use your beautifully made cake!
Arte- i had a chuckle at Williams hiding of things!
Trillian- I really should be cleaning up outside too, but here i am sitting on the pc again. waiting for the cleaning fairies. Sounds like your HN was having a bad day. Pffft to her.
Raino- How you going love?
We're having a grand final day bbq which will involve a number one cake in hawthorn colors for Lu. DH has got her a Hawthorn jumper for her b'day, can you tell he is a mad Hawks supporter? Man we sound like bogans now! lol
Lu has started walking alot. Still crawls but can walk across the room now if she wants. She has also started to cuddle everything in sight. We have 9 puppies at the moment and i think she might suffocate one with her cuddles! We have also acquired a big long ear black rabbit, which, if he's not careful will suffer a similar fate. DH thinks i have turned this farm into a funny farm! lol he's not really into animals besides cows, sheep and dogs i dont think. ah well, i love my little funny farm!
ange- where did you get the rabbit from? sounds so cute
hayley- congrats you lucky girl! the ring sounds amazing.i wish i could see it irl
thanks everyone for asking how we're doing. seems as though we've both had some sort of gastro. took lewis to the dr and he spewed all over the drs floor. poor little man.
i'm feeling a little better today, just a bit tired and over it all. i just drove down to nandos and got some hot chips as that's all i can stomach. lewis had a few too so i'm sure they'll be coming back to haunt me soon.
gotta take him back to the dr in the morning for another check
cally- good work on knowing they were oobi shorts! i love oobi
Glad to hear you cna stomach something G, was worried about ya. Poor little L. Oh i checked out the pics, now i want to get some done! Very cute! Does your friend hire out???
A friend of my cousin is moving OS and needed a home for her rabbit. He comes complete with hutch, toys food a brush and two page instructions on looking after him! You'll have to bring L up to see all the animals when you're feeling better.
Congratulations MM! How exciting, what a gorgeous story of how he proposed too, so sweet!! I bet you can't wait to shout it from the rooftops!!
Rainy, glad to hear you're feeling a little better, hot chips is miracle food, IMO. LOL Hope L is feeling better quickly.
Ange, I was LOL at your description of the funny farm. My house is like that (funny farm) but we don't have all the animals LOL.
Clare - sending happy healthy lymphnode vibes your way (still).
Andie, sounds like Jack's having a lovely time with his new toys! Clever boy working out how to get down himself.
Trill, Lanky Pants alright! I'm only just putting E into size 1s now (wondersuits, but also her tops, the 0s fit fine lengthwise on her shortybum legs LOL. But everyone keeps saying how tall she looks, maybe she's just skinny?? It's all a mystery to me, spose I should get her weighed again soon. Does the MACH nurse not realise you have 3 older children that have all done fabulously well under your care to this point???
Kate, can't you get another cake topper and use the cake you have (or have I misunderstood the problem?). Or is it all an excuse to eat extra cake!!
Arte, thanks for asking about H. Things are definitely better at school, she's going to have some friends around to 'hang out' (can't say 'play' anymore, apparently that is uncool) over the hols. She knows that both the class teacher (he's new) and the deputy principal will listen and take her seriously if there's any more trouble, the other kids know it too.
5 weeks until DH gets home, seems like an eternity but it will probably go quickly, with school hols and all (hoping so anyway). I was shockingly depressed for a few days there, I couldn't even tell you what brought it on, but I couldn't shake it until today. E is still showing no further inclination to walk without her granny walker. So maybe she'll hold out until DH gets home.
WOOHOO!!! Hayley, well done and congratulations. Sounds like a beautiful moment. Can't wait to see pics of the ring and hear of the wedding plans. And to think you were only asking about wedding destinations recently. Karma works nicely I think.
Sherie - Raspberries to your MCHN. I hope it was just a bad day happening and not a change in behaviour. I've been to one who was very preachy about what to do with S. And if I wasn't stubborn/lazy I might have listened Good luck with the outside clean up, sounds like fun.
Andie - Good work on the TT front! You have some very advanced and special little fellas there. Give yourself a huge pat on the back for that.
Fal - Yep, you do sound a bit boganish but if its what floats your boat then I say go for it. I think having it themed to the Hawks is a fab idea and can't wait to see piccies. As for the funny farm, sounds like a hoot. I've got my fingers crossed for the animals to survive all those cuddles
Rainy - I'm sending every 'Feel Better' vibe that I can find over to your place. I hope it clears up soon.
As for me, well went over to The Cheesecake Shop and ordered a cake with a happy birthday logo. Was the only thing I could get last minute. Looked great but I'm still ****ed off that I had to do it. I might be MIA for a few days, heading down to Brissie for Sarahs birthday and might be a tad caught up to jump on. Will try tho. So I hope everyone has a fantastic rest of the week and weekend and will chat soon.
Edit...MD - I cracked the sh*ts with the cake and stabbed it! Well sort of...will have to posts pics to explain. I didn't even know where to get the toppers from, got this one off ebay. Colours suited and wording was great. And because I was super tired and po'ed about the topper I just lost it and cracked a tanty. Sarah would have been proud. Was nice to have two cakes tho...hehe

I just think it's hilarious how the tanty always does more damage than the thing you're sh*tty about in the first place. I once broke my car door handle one day having a massive car park tanty LOL, and I've lost count of the number of DIY projects that were wrecked beyond salvageability when DH has his inevitable DIY tanties. PMSL
ETA - I think it makes an excellent story to tell Sarah, later when she's older - why her 1st birthday cake wasn't the one that you planned. LOL, there's motherly wisdom in it for sure!
hey there,
just a quick one to let u all know i'm alive (ashas currently chucking a tanty and throwing cherios off the high chair grrr) just havnt been on lately coz i have my friend and her bub staying, theyre up from melbourne till the 29th..
tmw is my little girls birthday and i have come down with the flue! i am so annoyed because i have over 40 ppl coming on saturday for her party!! grrrr!!
congrats haley!!
and biiig HAPPY BIRTHDAYS to all the bubbies i missed
anyway best go and start cleaning up this cereal mess
MM - oh, I had tears reading your proposal story, that is so exciting!! Sounds like a whopper of a ring, looking forward to seeing some pics!
Rainy - glad you are feeling a bit better and hope those chips that L had didn't end up all over the car! My sister is also obsessed with Oobi and we have a couple of little things for summer (matching bloomers and hat)
Noni - hope you are feeling better for A's party.
Hope Clare's OK today.
We have had big cries the last two nights between final bf and going into the cot. She still goes to sleep OK, but I think it is more than a coincidence that it has been since my first day back at work. We were up super early this morning so I was at work at 7:30 so should be able to get home nice and early and have lots of play time with her.
Noni, good to hear you're ok, I was just thinking about you as I was waiting for the page to load, we thought you were busy with your Melby friend. Pooh about the flu, hope you're feeling better by Fri (in time for Saturday The Big Day)!
Cally, I'm sure K will get used to the new routine soon enough. Yay for the playtime.
Well I've just been at the backup FDC lady's house, she has that really lovely gentle vibe that my kids respond to, so I'll be happy enough to leave them there. It won't be the most exciting school hol care that H has ever been to but I'm planning a few treat activities on the non-care days so I think it balances out in the end. If she whinges I'll tell it's either go there or stay at home with a crabby mother and nothing to do. LOL
