Md - when are you having the US? You poor thing, i hope it's not anything sinisterYou might just have to fill your wine glass with Sparkling Grape Juice - at least you can pretend then.
Hehe I am ON TO YOU Pregagain! Congratulations, I'm with Leanne & Cally (ie JEALOUS). Hope you have a smooth sailing pg and hope the MS fairy waves her wand at someone else!
Rainy you got a special invite cos in my has-no-actual-concept-of-where-we-are-going brain I thought you were out on a mountain somewhere - whereas the Melb girls are sorta all in the same place so we can work that out when I figure out when I'm going to be in Melb. Follow? So there you have it, a little peek inside MD's head and probably the reason why she couldn't string a logical thought together during her job interview LOL.
Trill, I'm glad you've found a support group, I hope there's a lot of good and reassuring information for you there and of course other people who've had the same thing and come thru the other side.
Cally -ewwww lice! I'm going to recommend the QuitNits products, you can get them at Woollies and I have found them to be effective AND they smell nice too.
Ok, re the liver (thanks for asking) I find the whole thing very alarming. The Dr showed me the pathology screen and the entire column of results is lit up red like Rudolf's nose on Xmas eve. Lucky for me she ordered a complete blood test before I was pg so there is a base line and it's definitely only happened since then. Have to have an US to rule out any thing like tumours, a cyst caused by parasites (EEEEEEEW), or a fatty liver. So far it's likely to be either that (fatty liver) or damage caused by medication. So caused by either Chocolate or Antibiotics. Or possibly something more sinister but definitely not any of the hepatitises they routinely screen for. Anyway the upshot is I'm really not supposed to drink alcohol which is a real bummer because I only just started having the occasional glass recently. So Arte you're right, it's a spanner in my shortterm alcoholic plan!!
Umm, E just squealed and it pierced my brain and made me forget everything else. Sorry for self-obsessed post (again) you ladies are wonderful for reading any thing I write at all!

Do you know what, i'm really trying to look on the bright side at the moment. Apparently it has to be three times worse before you start to get symptoms so I'm lucky it was even picked up now (due to my thyroid paranoia) otherwise I could've been chewing down chocolate and pills and sucking down champagne for another couple of years with nary a clue. So in a way it's good because realising there's an issue is the first step to fixing it. Plus I've known all year that I just haven't "been right" physically so it's good to finally have something specific to work on, kwim?
Anyway, I've developed a strong liking (during my pg) to San Pellegrino because it tastes dry like wine and goes so well with food, so i'm all sorted in the drinks department for now. But can you imagine my family at Christmas time...:
"Have a glass of champers, MD"
"no thanks"
"Go on, just one glass."
"no actually I can't, I've got this problem with my liver"
"OMG you're not pregnant are you?"
"no I'm not, I actually have a liver problem"
"Are you SURE you're not UTD?"...etc![]()
OMG OMG OMG Congrats Pregpan, what totally fantastic news.
Oh MD hun, I was wondering what the problem was when you touched on it the other dayYou're right though, at least you are onto it now and that it didn't go undetected for longer than it did. It will be interesting to see what my hepatic tests report considering all the chocolate I eat LOL.
Cally, I wouldn't have thought that live would go for babies hair because it's usually so fine and sparse and they can't hide as well kwim? I hope it doesn't take too long to be rid of them.
Re the sandpits, FIL built one for Lindsay when he was a toddler and built it with a shade structure over it, which is great - they can play all day and not get burnt, but the mozzies love it under there just as much so they always get covered in mozzie bites - Alister was in there the other day and got 3 in a few minutes. He does love playing in it, but it's not something he goes for everytime he's outside kwim?
CONGRATULATIONS PREGPAN!!!!!!!! Wow I am very happy for you. Let us know how the doc goes.
Haha I'm starting to feel a bit left out & jealous too (not in a nasty way!), we have no plans for another bub yet! Bet I've just jinxed myself lol
Cally - Oh nits what a pain. Makes me scratch my head too. I guess its easier having them now as they only have short hair. Wait till they have a full head of hair, good god what a nightmare. How is work going?
MD - Well done you were onto Pregpan's secret straight away! I liked Georgia Rule, just seemed a bit funny to be because thats what I picture Lindsay Lohan to be like in real person iykwim. Painted Vail is nice, DP kept rolling his eyes though. Sorry to hear about having to slow down on the wine hehe
Trillian - Congrats on moving A out into another room. Thats so cute him saying 'hey' to his father
My cousin had an engagement party on the weekend, but ended up coming out in a wedding dress and getting married. What a COOL idea, why didnt I think of that!? lol. Yes I am starting to be over wedding planning....
oh oh oh I was gonna do a mega catch-up post, but then got the confirmation from PP (i smelt a rat in the OB recommendation thread LOL!)!!
CONGRATULATIONS SWEETIE!!!!!
oh wow!
md - that's great that it was picked up early, and you have no symptoms.
mm - my cousin did that too! We were going for their engagement party at their house, and then the wedding party came out. It really was a special day. (except i wasn't really dressed for a wedding, and didn't put quite as much in the wishing well that i would have done for the wedding present)
Clare, is there a reason that you are looking in the Ob threads???
yes i didnt factor in the 2 of you hanging around the OB threads..... ha ha ha!!! i guess it isnt too hard to work out when i am booking in an OB!!!
anyway - went to gp and all is good, he confirmed it but just with a POAS - so the same as home! took HEAPS of blood for all the ante natal blood tests... i forgot how much blpood letting was involved! will feel more real when i get them back next week. he isnt too keen on dating scans, whcih is a bummer as I am!! anyway edd based on dates 9th july. woo hooo
MD - what a positive atttitude you have about it all, sorry if i was blunt in asking, i thought i had missed the vital info. when are you leaving canberra? we will have to catch up beforehand!
oz and arte - it better happen for you too, i want you as Belly Buddies!!!
MM - i have also been to an engagement party that turned into a wedding - good idea!!! what are your plans?
BTW did any of you pick up the news that our dear frned MBEar is preg again too???!!!! i just saw it today in her ticker!
HOw are all the babies going with eating. N is majorly into self feeding now, current fave is pasta (normal pasta) with cheese sauce and vegies and tuna stuirred thru, hmm not my idea of a traditional finger food but it goes down well!
good question detective Arte!!!!!
Clare - I know a few good ones in Melb LOL!
hi girls
sherie and md- i promise i will keep eating chocolate in your honour if it comes to the point where you two can't eat it anymore, just in case you were worried about the fate of cadburys. i am right into caramello atm...
sherie- why do the mozzies love the sandpit so much? we have the most major mozzie problem here that it's not even funny. i just had to bring the dog inside cos i could see her getting attacked through the window. if sand attracts mozzies then it's over....
pp- just so you know.....i am absolutely huge......huger than last time.....and last time i had a 10bs3oz baby....i look like a whale right now...probaby doesn't help that i had a large pineapple jam donut for breakfast this morning on the way to playgroup....and i'm having pizza for dinner....i blame bfing whilst pg.
md- yes i do live on a mountain. are you visiting friends down here, you lucky duck?
yes i saw mbear is pg again- would be cool if she popped back in here
PAP - no, you weren't blunt at all. Leaving mid Dec, get together before then would be great, Cally are you heading up here anytime at all soon so we could see you again too? E is into self feeding too however her favorite is spoon and sloppy foods. Still not as good on the finger foods as I'd like her to be. Also starting to get a bit fussy about what we're eating. Little piggy.
Rain, yes planning to see a couple of ooooooold GFs in Melb. Actually we'll be between residences but planned to make a horrible trip bearable by turning it into a little family holiday and catching up with a few peeps along the way.
Hmm you girls are making me clucky! Not going to happen anytime soon though, I am religiously taking my pill lol.
Clare - OMG is it true?!
Pregpan - Notice how we are all congratulating you in pink writing, I wonder if thats a sign its going to be a girl this time around...SO happy for you, lucky duck. Maddie also likes self feeding with pasta, the big curly ones with a sauce of course. Very messy but she loves it. She is a real little Italian.
Rainy - You make me laugh, picturing you pigging out on your donught! Go for it, use pregnancy as an excuse, and the bfeeding of course, besides what you put on in extra weight you will hopefully loose in bfeeding!
MD - Oh no hope you dont get a million and one questions about being pregnant at chrissy. My family would be exactly the same.
Arte - I cant remember, are you ttc too?
It seems everyone is either ttc or have had their litter....I feel left out lol.
Now how is everyone going with teeth brushing? I must admit I have been pretty slack with brushing M's teeth. She wont let me come near her mouth with her toothbrush so I've shamefully let it slide. Please tell me I'm not the only one, or at least some tips!?
Oooh as for the wedding planning as a couple asked, I'm getting there, its all very simple really, a ceremony beside the Swan River on March 7th 09 and everyone back to our joint for a 'reception'. I've so far organised the caterer, celebrant, flowers (a guy at DP's work sorting for us as his wife is a florist), dress....still stacks to organise though.
Did anyone notice that also JordieC (with baby McKenzie) is also pregnant again! Has this already been said? bahahaha
WOW pregpan that is the bestest news. You've made my day. I was much sicker and fatigued this time round but surprisingly am smaller (for now). Probably due to running after H all day - lol. Only put on 4 kgs in 22 weeks. Last time it was more like 26kg by the end
Hope both MD and sherie are feeling ok today, take care ladies.
H is doing ok with finger food, he much prefers it over mash, in fact, he's gone off yoghurt and custards as they require mummy to spoon feed him and that's for babies.
It's so cute, seeing as Joel has been getting up to H if he wakes at night and usually first thing of the morning so I can maximise my sleep Hamish has taken to yelling out 'dad dad dad dad' upon waking. They play this little game . Hamish yells dad dad dad then Joel yells back Ha - mish, they go back and forth for ages with lots of giggles in between. Very cute.
